Oh, I have a similar problem.

I'm a new Daz user (Daz 4.21, MacBook Pro). I plan to model and animate characters in Daz and then export them to Blender for rendering. 

I want to animate benchpress training. I imported the barbell, pinned hands with pins to stay in the same position, and attached IK chains to each hand and the barbell, but as probably more advanced users could guess, it didn't work out as expected (hands sliding etc.). I looked out for solutions and came across the LimbStick script, as it seems to be the perfect tool for such animations. I purchased it and tried to install it, but unfortunately, the error pops up whenever I try to run it ("An error occurred while reading the file, see the log file for more details").

The first time I installed it via DIM, found the LimbStick in the Smart content section, installed it again within Daz Studio, and added it to the script tab. Then I uninstalled it both in the smart content and DIM, and installed it again. Then I uninstalled it and installed it in Daz Central – still the same. Also, I have the impression that the files I installed at the beginning are left in the content library even after uninstalling. I even tried reinstalling Daz (in Daz Central). Nothing seems to work. I guess I can try installing it manually, but as a newbie, I'm unsure which folder I should choose for unzipping. There are plenty of tutorials for 3rd party clothing and hair assets, but I'm not sure if the LimbStick should have the same directory – I really don't want to mess anything up. Also, as it's available on the official Daz website, it feels like it should have been doable in Install Manager.

Please remember to put the Viewport in Smooth Sahded mode if you are going to show a nude figure.

Alistair's morph was fixed - redownload and reinstall through DIM, daz Central, or Daz Studio (depending on how you get your content).

Daz Studio can be installed using a stand-alone isntaller, but mixing methods is not a good idea so I would suggest installing Daz Central (or Install Manager if you want to customise the paths rather than justs et a base location) first, then using it to install the application and plug-ins.

If I remember correctly, Daz Studio needs to be installed by either Daz Central or Daz Install Manager so you would need to install Central first if that is your preferred installer. That does seem to be backed up by the fact that the link to "Download Studio" on this webpage redirects to the download Central page.

I was asking you about that in the case there was more of them. 

I have already put those two in my blacklist and I will never buy anything related to them. I'll also totally stop purchasing stuff from here until there's a safe, secure and clear way to avoid Editorial Licenses with ZERO risk of getting one of those by mistake.

A strong store filter, a clear marking in the promo image, a clearly visible and non-missable banner in the product page and a reminding popup asking for confirmation in the checkout page are a must in the store, and not just one of those but all of them must be there together. Also a clear separation and marking in the DIM, in Central, in Connect, in Content and Smart Content panes after the purchase of those products is a must.

I'm sorry for those PAs who works hard on those products but, personally, I definitely can't have editorial licensed stuff in my library.

I'm having a lot of fun with the aquarium webcams across the U.S.  Take a peek- and there's links to the other webcams at their location.
For Monterey Bay Aquarium, start with the jellyfish. All cameras are live at the moment throughout the US then at night you can watch the recordings from the day if you missed them.
And right now (2:20pm Central) the divers are in the shark tank. They will post when they feed and get in the tanks on some of the sites.

 Would it be possible for someone to write a small, very simple manual for the DIM? We need to have a clear guide to the folder structure. And the reasons why we should not mix download methods. In the earlier days of DAZ a content history could be purchased in a disk. That was a "lifesaver" for me. DAZ Central is nice to look at but way to slow and unmanageable. And Daz Connect? No thanks.

I am having the same difficulty in finding Richard's poses in Daz Studio as I was with the product that Saxa led me to.  However I've just realized that I don't think I'm looking for them in the correct way, so I'm going to start by asking about that instead of about whether I'm installing them properly.

The directory path in the zip file for Richard's poses is "People\Genesis 8 Female\Poses\ChestnutP\G8F Hand Bra".  Forget for the moment about where I am supposed to copy this "People" folder to on my computer, and assume that I have done it correctly.  Given the names of the subfolders as shown above, and given that we're talking specifically about files for poses (as opposed to files for morphs, figures, clothing etc), how would I go about accessing these poses?

If you think that's a stupid question, read the rest of this post.  If you don't want to listen to me ramble, you can stop here and we can see whether answering that question solves my problem.   Either way, thanks very much Richard for making those poses for me!

Here is why I ask this.  For poses from products that I purchased in the Daz Store and downloaded and installed using Daz Central - that is, the ones that I am able to access - there are three ways that I know of to access them.  One is by going to the "Smart Content" tab in the left pane, and scrolling to or searching for the product in question.  Most of these products have a nice fancy cover icon, but I'm not sure whether I can expect to find products like Richard's in the same manner since it's not a "real" product.  If I could, I would guess that I could find it in Smart Content tab under the name "GF8 Hand Bra," or possibly "ChestnutP"; but I'm not sure whether I should be expecting to be able to do that, and in any case it's not showing up in that way.

The second methood is by going to the "Content Library" tab, aslo in the left pane, expanding "Products" and finding the product by alphabetical name.  As with the first method, I'm sure sure whether I can expect to find the poses in this way since it's not a "real product," and, again, I'm not finding them.

The third method is by going to the Context Library tab and searching for the pose in the search bar at the top.  This method, I would expect to be able to find the poses so long as I have installed them correctly; however, I don't understand how the search terms correlate to the pose files.  Searching for more words seems to increase the results rather than narrow them (suggesting that it's looking for any of the terms rather than all of them), so trying to find either a product or a pose who name consists entirely of generic words like "G8F Hand Bra" or "G8F Default Chest Full" seems doomed to failure; but also, searching for a word pulls up files that don't have that word in their name.  For example, if I search for "bodybuilder," I find all of the posing files for Z Sexy Bodybuilder, but many of said posing files don't actually have the word "bodybuilder" in their name, instead having names like "Z SB Btm 01 G8F."  So again, assuming I've installed the files correctly, how should I expect to find the poses I'm looking for?

Install that through DIM (Daz Install Manager), it will install the Blender Part with Blender and the DS part with DS (and remember to follow tthe instructions on how to set it up on blender.

You should use the Content Library instead of the Smart Content.

Click on any of the categories, it will expand and you can find anything you like.

Try reinstalling Genesis 8 Starter Essentials, or at least the female version if using Central/Install Manager.

Suddenly between yesterday and today, the .dsf file locations for Classy House changed from /data/Tesla 3d corp/ to /data/tesla3dcorp/ and now my working file is completely broken with missing dsf locations.

Since I loaded Daz Central last night to install V9, it must have updated itself then as it was fine yesterday. How do I get this restored to what it was??

Hey guys, I've encountered a problem with my smart content, it has happened since yesterday, I guess I bought some new products on daz store and used central to install like normally.
when I opened daz this morning, whenever I selected any female figure, be it gen8 or 8.1 it locks my smart content to a specific thing shown in the picture I attached. any other object or male figure I select works perfectly fine, I have tried uninstalling all the content I downloaded yesterday, to no effect.. 
I hope some of you will be able to help me out as this is a major obstacle for me continuing my work.

Hi all.  I have installe mesh grabber, but I can never find it.  I don't think I've been able to find / use it once.  ive installed  it via daz central, and via the downloadable .exe.  it's just not there in my tools menu, no matter what i try.

when i look at "installed plugins" it is not listed.

Has anyone else seen this issue?
