Slider Preservation?

I apologize if I'm not asking this in the right place, I'm new to this forum. Is it possible to export from Daz, import to blender, and export from blender to import back into Daz and preserve sliders and whatever else? To simplify my question (Or the opposite... Lol) I'm trying to modify a body shape in blender, but I want to modify it while it has the attachments I put on (for example, breastacular and golden palace) because to my knowledge I can't import my modified genesis 8 into Daz and apply after the fact. (If this isn't true, please let me know how! Would make this so much easier haha) Also for future reference, is it possible to use collision in these sort of assets (breastacular and golden palace) for Unreal? Sorry, I suck at summarizing myself and putting things into words but any and all help is appreciated, thank you!!
Do you really need to sculpt changes to the geografts at the same time?
If your concern was about being able to add geografts to a modified figure after having sculpted the figure in Blender, you actually can add geografts to the edited figure in Daz provided you load in the changes to your figure using Morph Loader Pro. This process just imports the edited figure into Daz Studio as a new morph (or "shapekey", to use blender parlance).
Usually the process for creating Daz morphs would be to export the objects or figures from Daz Studio at their Base Resolution without any attachments (i.e., without eyelashes, tear, the geografts you mentioned).
Then after you modiffy, i.e., sculpt changes in Blender, you would export out of Blender as an obj and load in the changes using Morph Loader Pro.
Note: You can only make changes to the mesh at base resolution (unless you have the HD toolset, which only vendors get access to.) For that reason, any high-res changes you sculpt in Blender would have to be baked down from high res mesh onto the base resolution mesh into displacement or normal maps.
Important points to remember:
- Blender won't preserve vertex order on import/export unless you tell it to (preservation of vertex order is needed for the morphs to look like theyre supposed to)
- Morph Load Pro requires vertex count to remain the same between original and morphed shapes, otherwise it wont import.
Morph Changed on Loadand I get no error messages indicating missing files.
Well, the solution is there. Just read the list of missing files. Look for some of them with Google. And you'll get what you need pretty quickly : a list of the bundle(s) you had installed when working on that scene that you're obviously missing now. Install it, or them and you'll be good to go.
I then unbatched the file [...] when I rebatch the file and open it [...]
batch, unbatch ? I guess you're talking about archiving, compression ?
"the" file (please be precise) should not be tempered with if you don't know much what you're doing.
The .duf file of your scene is FINE. Do not touch that.
Fix missing missing Daz bundles until you don't get any "missing file" message. And all will be good. There should be a pop-up when opening your.duf file that tells you precisely what is missing, which makes the google search easy peasy. You can also find a list of those files in the Daz log.

Wow, really? I always update to the newest NVIDIA studio driver but I have a LOT of content. I think every set of morphs ever sold, some from PAs who are no longer at DAZ and TONS of characters, expressions, a ridiculous amount of products. I only have 16GB RAM but I'm constantly releasing RAM with Norton Utilities. Do you think more RAM will make a difference? Everything else runs fine, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, VR PC games... DS is the only program I have a problem with.
Do you have sufficient room on your C drive (or whatever is your Windows dive)? I found that when I had less than 100GB there, the system began to act wonky when I used DAZ. I have a 980TI card, and no issues with the current version of DS, though I'm using it in Beta.
No, I don't have much room on the C drive and tried to install DS on an external SSD drive and that didn't work and may have screwed some things up. If I could ever get CS to help me with all this, it would be amazing.
The problem will not be solved by installing DS elsewhere, because it's a general Windows problem (at least that's what I was told). A larger C drive could help, or removing all non-essential programs except DS, and see if that helps. It could be Norton, though. So another option to test this out would be to unplug your PC from the internet, and temporarily disable Norton. Again, this would be just to "search" for a possible source of the problem.

- Converters and tools: It will probably take some time for guys like Zev0, RiverSoft or ManFriday to release new tools for the new generation. Probably they will come up with solutions to use older character skins on Gen9 as well. So I tend to wait so see what will be available.
It's worth pointing out that Zev0 currently has two empty placeholder threads in the PA forum, so they might be waiting for the release of G9 to approach or arrive before they announce what the products are.
Slider Preservation?I know there are options in morph loader to preserve the current shape but don't know if this affects geografts. This is not specific to blender, you may have better luck asking to the daz forum. As for unreal I know nothing.

I just checked. I did not include it in the package but I did send it in as a readme file. The pdf probably got lost along the way.

They must have very recently added it.
I could not find any PDF there when I looked yesterday. I'm glad it is now in a handy place to find it again, after I forget where I put it after downlloading from the forum link.

I missed what he said about the polygon count/density for G9. I think it's more dense?
The comments made about that were here:

(Just in case you wanted to rewatch what was stated so far about the polycount etc though an exact number wasn't given but some other info was that may be useful) (Link takes you to that point in time on the video)The link goes to the beginning of the session for me.
Its at about 42 minutes in where he discussed that

Daz is not a modeller.
Using the existing base characters, one can dial in a great variety of morphs. The more morphs you have in the 'gene pool' - the greater the mixes you can put together to achieve the desired character(s).
Alternatively one can make a separate figure altogether which requires the model, making the rigging, making a ton of adjustment morphs, etc. Not what I would call the easy way.
eta: As it's the eyes that are the biggest challenge in getting the toon look, here are a few of the toon females I found in the store search. They have large eyes, the nose and jawlines are not the same as your guide picture. I did notice that the product page indicates the head morphs can be dialed in separately. So those mixed with other morphs [hundreds sold in the store] should give you a good start.

If I'm understanding you right, the more chrachters or morphs I have in Daz, the more i can mix and match them to get something totally original?

I think DAZ figures are going to be turned into life size robots that will do the dishes and vacuum the house while dressed in wild fantasy costumes - sort of what I do myself.

Sorry, I suck at summarizing myself and putting things into words but any and all help is appreciated, thank you!!Accessing the Studio Library located on another hard driveI just purchased a brand new computer. This computer comes with a 1TB HHD. I loaded my software into it, including Daz Studio through which I create characters that I sell. Unfortunately there is no room on the drive for my Studio Library, which is nearly 1-1/2TB in size. I put the HD from my old computer into the single expansion bay of my new computer, hoping to link Studio to it.
I did a search, through Studio, for the library, and it was located. I'm sorry to say this, but I am NOT a technological whiz, and unfortunately Studio, to the best of my knowledge, does not have an easy "link the program to the library" feature. Maybe it does but for someone who relies on laymen's English I can't "translate" the technical mumbo-jumbo.
The bottom line is this: How do you get Daz Studio 4.20 to connect completely to a Daz Studio Library which happens to be located on another hard drive? And if someone does respond, please say it in English.
Thanks
Daz to Blender bridge issue.I don't know why they took the box on the sales page for the bridges down, you have to really search for it now and there's good info on it, but here's the blender bridge page:
Blender Bridge & Daz Software | Daz 3D
The first video shows how to install it. You have to click send to blender in the file menu and then there's an option there to install it in blender, then you need to activate it in Blender.
Possible solution to "bad lexical cast" exception in DS log fileTime for another one of my overly detailed wordy posts that probably affects 0.01% of people! So the odds are, you are better off skipping this one.
I think it will be most useful for someone who is not finding any good search results when searching for a warning they found in their log file. When I searched I only found 3 discussions and none of them focused on this particular warning to the point of figuring it out, with one possible exception linked below that deserves credit.
Anyway, to increase the chances of a search hit here is the full warning I was getting:
[WARNING] :: ..\..\..\..\..\src\sdksource\cloud\dzcloudtasknotifier.cpp(178): Token X cast failed in TableProduct::loadIntoMap cast failed with exception: bad lexical cast: source type value could not be interpreted as targetThe "X" took many different values in my logs but it looks like it was probably meant to be a product id.
What got rid of the warnings for me was moving zipped backups out of their original location. This is what I mean:
I had (1) copied "Content Database" to another drive (2) created a zipped backup in the old place called "Content Database.zip" (3) deleted the original "Content Database" and finally (4) created a symlink "Content Database" in the old location pointing to its new location.
I did something similar with "My Daz Connect Library" but I don't think that caused the warnings.
The missing step (2b) was that I should have moved "Content Database.zip" out of the directory that also contained "Content Database". My fix was to make a "bak" subdirectory and put "Content Database.zip" into it.
At least in the case of the Content Database folder, it looks like Daz gets confused by in-place zipped backups? But only for certain key folders, I guess. I also have zipped backups in place for that "use 8.0 expressions with 8.1 figures" fix, but that doesn't confuse Daz.
Thanks to Daz_Rawb who hinted at the solution here:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/110601/lost-found#Comment_1538761
where he wrote, in part, "It looks like you may have some old zip files with old metadata lying around or some hand-built metadata."

Daz to Blender bridge issue.Hi, I just installed the bridge in install manager and even though it shows up in Daz, it doesn't show up in Blender.
After some google search, I found out that I have to install it but when I go to the Blender foundation folder inside Roaming, there is no DTB zip.
Please help, I tried reinstalling the Bridge a few times but didn't help.
I don't understand what the problem is but Daz is just not installing the Bridge in Blender.Product Ratings ★★★☆☆Oso3D said:
It would be awesome if we could get back to that earlier form, because it was a great way to find out the possibilities of a product and potential issues when threads were about the product and not about how it is sold.I agree with the point of discussions being more about the sales and prices, than the products themselves. Which unintentionelly serves as a perfect example against "reviews" in the forum compared to the way the reviews are done @Rendo (directly linked to the product and only to be made by people who really bought the product).
As for Novica's and Forum Members Tips & Product Review Thread (which don't want to bash with my post): I bought the Cookie and Cocoa Outfit today. DAZ-Deals tells me, there's three posts in the forum mentioning this outfit. #1 is "PC+ Prices are higher than before" - okay, not much info to be expected there.. Post #2 and #3 are supposed to be in Novica's thread, but in the end I had to look very carefully to see where that product was mentioned. In a list of items bought. No tips or reviews involved.
So even though there ARE often interesting tips and reviews in Novica's thread - and cudos to her for the effort to put in it - they are presented in a fashion that gives not too much help for customers to find proper feedback information about products.
So it's still my opinion, that Rendo handles the rating part for their products at least 99,5% better than DAZland
