Has anyone been able to get the Western Horse Tack for Daz Horse 3 to fit the Thoroughbred morph. It has hidden morphs that get dialed in automatically when fit to the Thoroughbred, but the reins are not properly positioned. They do not connect ot the bit rings and they intersect the saddle.
Here is the basic Daz Horse 3 with the Thoroughbred morph dialed in. The same errors happen if I load the tack on the Thoroughbred model.
Is it me or is the horn on that saddle teeny tiny? It's been years since I've used one, but I seem to remember the horn being about twice the size.

Looks great, has this plugin been released yet? Can you tell me more about how to use it?
No it hasn't been released yet. Sorry all for the delay.
As I began testing the tool with more and more complicated character setups I began to run into edgecases which proved very difficult to solve automatically. Some types of geograft clothing for example.
I realised that I was never going to be able to cover off every possible scenario that various Daz figure/clothing/prop combinations could throw at me, in a procedual way, without any sort of user intervention. I also realised that, due to me creating the tool as a single node in Houdini, I was effectively preventing the user from using any of the numerous other tools available in Houdini to deal with these edgecases themselves.
Basically, long story short, rather then realising it as a single digital asset, I've broken it down into several digital assets, each performing specific tasks in the workflow.

This means that at any point in the node network, users can intercept the data streams and make any changes they require to achieve what they want, based on their specific requirements. It also makes it a lot easier for me to add in additional functionality for specific parts of the workflow down the track. The node network of the original tool was getting very large and complicated so I think that breaking things down into smaller chunks will be better in the long run.
The only real downside to this is that there is no longer a single "presets" option for the entire workflow, rather each of the nodes would have their own presets... but I have a plan for that which I think could work.
In addition to splitting the tool into multiple nodes, I also implemented mesh subdivision and poly reduction capabilities. This was quite challenging for me to figure out as any topology changes applied to the FBX character, also needed to be applied to the animated alembic cache exactly the same, otherwise things like corrective morph generation would break... but this has now been implemented and is working well. It's really flexible too. For example, you can paint areas of the character that you want to retain mesh density around, while reducing the poly-count in other areas of the character.

I've still got a few nodes to finish off for a v1 release but it shouldn't be too much longer now.
I'll also need to record a series of tutorials as well, something I've never done before.. so that should interesting.
Why Daz content creators don't make more of other ethnicity character?
Yeah ethnicity is pretty homogeneous at where I live so I guess people around me lack sensitivity. And I agree with you some old ethnicity dials were quite laughable (and sometimes outrageous LOL). So I do appreciate PAs releasing merchant resources for POC and more facial morph merchant resources the better! It's almost certain that we can't find what we exactly want - and therefore we createnemesis10 said:Yes. At where I live 'race' is used even in government ads, which is exactly equivalent to ethnicity.
I remember a grad school conversation discussing biology (I have had close to 40 years in the biological sciences) with some friends (a physicist, a chemist, a socialogist, and a mathematician); the chemist said "Physics, Math, and Chemistry are hard sciences, Sociology is a soft science, and Biology is a squishy science". I don't mind this since it points to the practicality of biology. We use a term like species such as lions and tigers are two different species since they don't interbreed and then, bam, you got your liger which everyones's favorite example of hybred vigor. I don't think people should get too confused about defining what a race is in biological terms since it is really a sociolgical term like Southerners or Mormons.
Anyway, I have been here since the start when things were really dire. The original Posette indicated ethnicity/race with a simple color change and a laughably offensive dial. I remember long arguements about such simple things like palm color (humans all have the same range of palm colors though palms can tan like any other skin so sometimes you see much darker palms on people who live in very sunny places). Various artists have worked very hard to create to edge us closer to more realistic erhnic characters. it matters. There is an awesome essay by Virginia Woolf which begins talking about a fictional sister to Shakespeare who could never have Shakespeare's career since women weren't tauight to read and write, were pretty much not published if they could etc... The upshot is that if one wants an accurate version of yourself, you have to create it. As the Daz community has grown, it has gotten better. Nonetheless, change is slow so we are stuck with those gawdawful Voodoo, African, and vaguely Asian clothes right out of bad 30's movies. From the various creators of product, there are enormous limitations on the photo references of POC, the customers tend to have very narrow tastes, people are pretty ignorant about the rest of the world abd can't differeniate between various Africans and Papua New Guinea or Japan and China, and most sub equator and the bulk of the world's population doesn't exit in their imagination.

I found if you load the tack parts seperately instead of using the "load all" preset, then they fit the bit properly
[Released] Turbo Loader for Genesis 8 and 8.1 [Commercial]Hi,
I have a problem with Turbo Loader Manager. At first glance everything works fine. TL finds the morphs, I can disable and enable them. I save a Morph list with everything enabled and also one with disabled morphs. I execute the list. Files get renamed. I save the settings and a configuration. Close the scipt. Re open TL Manager. The list shows the settings as I left it last time as expected.
But everytime I close and reopen DAZ Studio TL Manager tells me that this is the first execution. Also the update hint gets displayed in no regard of the "dont show again" checkbox. If I select OK TL Manager rebuilds the list but this takes quite a while - not something I want to do all the time. If I cancel TL Manager shows no morph list of course. I can load the previously saved morph list where everything is on and update the list with "Refresh Status" the list seem to represent state of the filesystem correctly - but I have to do this every single time I start DS.
However Turbo Loader Open File still works. I can load my scenes the morphs get enabled and if I then load TL Manager, load the complete morph list and refresh the status the additional morphs needed for my scene are enabled as expected.
I'm working with the Public Build. I start DAZ Studio using instancing ("C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 Public Build\DAZStudio.exe" -instanceName #) Is this an Issue for Turbo Loader? Where does TL store the Information on close of the Manager script? Does this get overwritten? What if I open multiple Instances of DAZ Studio?

Remove a part of a character morph OR only use a part of one?Yeah, that price tag is kinda high.
Then again, it's nice to know that there is such software just in case. Thanks for a bit of enlightenment!Stupido3D said:
I found ShapeSplitter can potentially be quite hard to use for some certain morphs (to get the alignment exact)
Another way to do it is to use the Replace node in the software R3DSWrap, which is very easy to use and has some algorithms to assist with the alighments of two figures. You can then export and use morph loader pro to bring the morph back to Daz Studio. R3DSWrap can be expensive to purchase, but does have free trial.
Remove a part of a character morph OR only use a part of one?OMG, this is incredible! I'm almost speechless 'cause how cool that is!
Thank you!!!
The Shape Splitter creator probably hates the author of that video

Hey guys.
Imagine you have a perfect character morph that satisfies you completely but in one single area. Let's say the abdomen/abs one.
Is there a way - maybe a product? - to apply the whole character morph without that one part? Or the other way around, to apply separate parts of the whole char morph?
'Cause I'd kinda like to avoid exporting/importing and Blender-ing this time.Merging FAce Images From DAZ Figuresoh yes it is Lovechild is perfect for that made to do that or face photos of course, do close upshots of both faces well lit though the default light should be fine, if you have the hd versions or even of only one of them use that in the parameters tab I maxed out the the subD and render subd levels, also in render settings -progressive render- rendering quality I go atleast 5. I did a combo of Babina 8 HD and Sanjay 8 I liked the result though there was a mark done the cheeks reason Sanjay I didn't zoom enough so proportions were out but stillcool than I created face in Facegen which also creates matching skin textures for the body oh and it has options to morph the head facial looks including aging from 20s to old as well as other ethenticities Zev0 has some programs to create shape child characters

@all
First, my question derives from a user point of view and not a content creator. I was wondering.
With the ability/skill of some creators, even up to creating (almost) a resemblance of some movie actors/actresses, I think they can do it, if they want to, why didn't they create more of different ethnicities?I just want to hear this forum opinions or perhaps some experiences.
Second, for anyone who offended by the term race and prefer the term etnicity, no problem. Etnicity it is.
Third, why I don't make my own with morphs. I'm not good at it. I tried. I tried sculpting too. I ended up spend many weeks, trying to. Although I ended with somehting, but I didn't get the result I desired.
Thus, instead of making what I want to make, I ended up tweaking those.Facegen, I've tried it. The result wasn't at the level I wanted it.
With all said, in general don't need to get too serious guys.
As someone who's not a 3D content creator either, I'm far from it and the most I do is dial spin until I find what I like, this thread is interesting to read. For people who depend on PA's for creating a good base to use it can be super frustrating when what you're looking for still isn't out there but sometimes mixing and matching various morphs from different vendors gets me better results than waiting for the perfect product that'll probably never be released. At least with g8/8.1 there's so many enthnic morphs and morph packs with facial morphs that can get you what you want eventually. But as others have said, they know that 20'ish white female characters sell really well and that's what's generating the money so that's what the majority of the marketed products are going to be. G8 saw some amazing asian female characters from bluejaunte, Mousso, hid3d, daz released ML8, Alawa and Kayo. There's also an artist DaYin from that other... other store who's faces are really amazing.
G9 isn't out long enough to really have a built up volume of ethnic morphs library like g8 but hid3d's Nao was my starting point for a character I initially worked on trying to duplicate a custom character I made on G8. I actually like the results I got with the g9 attempt way more than I did with my custom g8 character, so much so that I was thinking of redoing a lot of renders and replacing them with the g9 one.

Why not make your own? Get a character with a skin tone you like and you can adjust it further if needed and morph away! Right now G8 has the most morphs and there are packs for all ethnicities you can mix and match. Also there are apps like FaceGen you can use with good reference photos.
I love Facegen create a lot of my owncharacters thanks to that plus I don't know about the other related programs but Facegen creates matching body skin textures. Plus using Lovechild to combine two faces to create a third is cool there is also a sight called generated photos that has faces created like this so they are not real people and again using Facegen it'll create the skin body texture oh it has face morphing of various races

'Cause I'd kinda like to avoid exporting/importing and Blender-ing this time. Why Daz content creators don't make more of other ethnicity character?I don't know... there seem to be quite a few PAs who mostly make Asian female characters, and there are others who specialize in specific ethinicites like Sabsil, who used to sell at both DAZ and Renderostity but now sells via their own store. Ultimately, though, it comes down to a split between what the PAs enjoy making and what sells, with the latter being also dependent in no small part on where DAZ figures themselves sell. Back in the old days, Poser's Mikki series of Asian female base figures was consistantly one of their top sellers, at leas in part due to a huge market based in Asia and especially Japan. However, when the big Poser/DAZ rift occured with Genesis, Poser's multi-lingual support's inclusion of a native Japanese version language pulled a lot of that market away (though Aiko 3 and Hiro 3 continued to be major players in that market for many years.) As it is, every new full generation of DAZ base figures since 6 has included a new variant on Mei Lin, Monique, Darius and Lee, while vendors like Sickleyield make morph packs that cover a wide variety of ethnicities, and I know SY has commented on the major discrencies in sales between the different groups.
Another question about render settingsIf your render is taking hours to complete, with very low GPU useage and 100% CPU usage, your scene excedes the available VRAM on the GPU and it's running entirely on the CPU. The only difference between checking and unchecking CPU fallback is that, checked, the render will procede (albeit very slowly on the CPU) and unchecked you will get an immediate black screen and an end to the render process.
The reason CPU fallback is a red herring is because you will note that you are required to restart Studio when changing its status. A restart clears the VRAM usage by Studio on your GPU so, whether it's checked or not, you're starting with a blank slate. If the scene fits into your VRAM it will render on the GPU, regardless of the state of that checkbox. The restart is what allows the scene to fit into the available memory. If you do not restart and try a subsequent render, the GPU memory will not clear completely and you can find (as you are in this case) that there is insufficient remaining VRAM even if you don't change a single thing about the scene you're trying to render.
Here's a test:
Enable CPU fallback. Render the same scene multiple scenes. The first render will be fast. The second or so will fallback onto the CPU and be slow.
Now disable CPU fallback. Render the same scene multiple times.
The first render will be, you guessed it, fast and on the GPU. The second render will be a black screen.
---
The state of that checkbox is irrelevant. It's the memory leak (i.e. the VRAM isn't completely cleared by Studio when doing a new render) that's causing the change in render times due to the CPU being used instead of the 3060.
You don't have a bottleneck with your PCI lanes either. The difference between PCIe v4 and earlier will be utterly negligible in real world terms. All that determines is the data transfer rate between system RAM and VRAM. A second. At most! Save your money for a faster GPU or one with more VRAM. Your system is fine and doesn't need upgrading unless you feel you need an upgrade for other applications.

Anyway, welcome to the club, Quinlan! Many thanks for your kind words and greeting, AOBB. I've long admired your morphs and kindness in sharing them. Many thanks for showing the way and proving it can be done :) Quinlan

In any case, one thing of which DAZ Studio can never be accused is not having enough morph packs to ultimate create pretty much whatever you want. To me, that's the most addictive thing about DS.
Yup ... that's what has me hooked too. However, when I do buy characters it is mainly for the skins, not the shapes, and a diverse variety of skins is important.
Yes, I agree with that too.. I've gotten to the point where I can morph up anything that I like with the tools in DAZ Studio, but a nice, realistic skin to match it is slightly harder to come across. When I see a good one, I snag it for the skin, not the actual character.

Hello SofaCitizen,
I was trying to use the morphs with the DressedUp Collection Dress#1. I am not sure about what I should be looking for in the logs. I didn't get any kind of error message.
Ahh, well that should work OK as per the examples attached. Please forgive the slightly extreme test model and zoomed crop but it seemed the best way to show the difference. The morph values are attached to show what I used for the second image.
If this is not the experience you have then you can try loading up a fresh G8F with the dress from that product. But before applying the morphs, go to Help/Troubleshooting/View Log File. Then when the log file comes up, either delete the whole contents or you can just scroll to the bottom and type "---MARK---" or something similar and save the file. This will give you a reference point for the next step. Now select your figure and apply the Breast Helper to the figure, then try dialing some of the morphs. At this point you can View your log file again and see if anything new has been output after the mark you made.
