Help: Installing with DIM on drive D
An update: after a few days and installing my DAZ content, my DS in Drive D seems to work fine, and is noticably easier to navigate due to a much simplified library structure (in comparison to what DAZ Central chose on my laptop).
I still have, for some reason, a ContentCluster in Roaming/DAZ 3D on drive C that is currently about 370 MB in size, in addition to the ContentCluster in the folder I created in drive D, which is currently 440 MB in size. I haven't looked at all into the question of why and what is redundant. I also didn't try to link Onedrive back yet.
I still consider where I want to install the content from Renderosity and others. Any suggestions?
Daz Studio InsallationDaz Connect does not conflict with other isntall methods, Install manager and daz Central do use the same detinations (but should see each others installations so that should avoid issues).
Deepsea Baby HD Looks like stewie on steroids why? Please put your question in the post body and the title
I would expect any Genesis 8.1 Male, and possibly any Genssi 8 male, to do the same. If so it's a character that has been saved with a non-zero value for its morph, so it loads applied unless the file used to load it has explicitly zeroed that property. The first thing to do is check that you have any updates released for your characters (with Daz content, assuming your downloaded through Daz Studio, Central, or Install manager, updates will be flagged - other stoe content and freebies you will need to check for yourself).
Daz Studio InsallationDaz Central had to many installation failures, where as Dasz Connect is much better at Content Installation. I hope there is no conflict between the two on paths or location.
Daz Studio InsallationDaz Connect canot handle everything, though ti can handle most content (there are a few exceptions). There is also Daz Install Manager https://www.daz3d.com/get_install_manager/ which will initially pick up the folders used by Daz Central but you can customise it - whether that is a good thing will depend on what issues you had with Daz Central.
Daz Studio InsallationI saw your first name in another post and assumed it was you. I have my new Desktop and am installing my content. I tried Daz Central and found it wanting.
I am using Daz Connect and have learned its many facets.
DAZ Central - setting the path location to My libraryThat's why I hate DAZ central. It manages the paths weirdly, and we, who need to install our assets on another drive, can only guess the correct settings. Moving things around because the drive is full, is a nightmare. I wish we had specific Locate and Migrate buttons that would check the path is valid.

Thanks namffuak! I'll try what you suggest and report.
When you write "and from this point on, never connect to Daz from within Studio", do you mean actively choose Connect -> Work Ofline ? Or just not choose Connect -> Login ? Or something else?
Do not choose 'connect login'. That will automatically begin updating the CMS database ith the product data as used by the 'connect' content; this has been found to not always match the data provided with the DIM install and leads to problems. The only reason to login is because you intend to NOT use DIM or Central and instead download all content from within Studio. Among other things, using Connect to install content breaks UltraScenery and most of its add-ons.
The best option is to NOT login but click the box 'never show this again'.
Help: Installing with DIM on drive DThat certainly looks like the relic of a Daz central isntall, you should still be able to unisntall it through DIM however - if not, try copying the content of the manifests folder to the actual manifesst folder you are using - D:Daz DIM Installation on D/Daz Manifest files/ and thens tart DIM.
Help: Installing with DIM on drive DSomething that might be relevant: I still have DS under C using DAZ Central on my laptop (Win 10).
I attempted to install it on my new desktop (Win 11) using DIM. Could it contact my laptop somehow? Maybe using the Onedrive?
Help: Installing with DIM on drive DThanks, I unlinked Onedrive for the time being. If I choose not to use it, I may be better with just DAZ Central. Or just installing manually (I have stuff from other vendors anyway). Or I might give DIM on D another go. In any case, I would I clean everything now?
Help: Installing with DIM on drive DSo, trying to understand what Richard suggests, I descided to make it as simple as possible, with just one folder under D where all the different boxes/sections in DIM and DS would point to, Would that work?
If not, I really need a more detailed explanation, what to put in each of these many sections.
Anyway, at some point trying the above I got stuck with all kinds of things, so decided to just uninstall DS and start anew. I clicked uninstall on everything under the installed tab in DIM, so now I have nothing there. I even restarted my PC, yet I can still open DS. I just get a warning about no valid PostgreSQL CMS connction. So, is this not a full uninstall? Do I need to uninstall DS using Windows? To Uninstall DIM? Just making sure I start with a clean slate.
Regarding what Catherine and namffuak wrote, this was indeed my experience with my previous laptop using DAZ Central, but I was hoping DIM would solve that. So, do I need to uninstall OneDrive? Can I instead just take exclude from Onedrive certain folders? Which ones?
Thanks again!
DAZ3d customlayout saving issueNo, there will not be a separate uninstall option for an isntall through daz Central or Install Manager. You may need to isntall Instal manager - it should inherit the Daz central settings and you will be able to uninstall from the applications installed tab. https://www.daz3d.com/get_install_manager/
Want to download DAZ Studio without Daz CentralI just upgraded my computer and did a fresh install of windows 11. I want to downlod DAZ studio and DIM. I DO NOT want DAZ Central, I tried it when it when it first can out and it created a complete mess of my product DB. I still have my old DB asnd just want to point DAZ Studio to my current DB.
I cannot find a DAZ Central free version of DAZ Studio to download.

For art I would agree NFT is not the way to go, but NFT could be valuable for legal purposes especially in countries where offical documentation can be suspect.

As with every proposed real-world application of NFTs, the trick is proving that the NFT was legitimate when minted. I will gladly sell you an NFT deed to the Brooklyn Bridge.
Sorry you are too late I spent my money on a NFT of London Bridge ... falling down. :-)
I know NFT or more specifically the whole blockchain era right now is the wild west but blockchain 2.0 or 3.0 will have variations that are regulated and monitored. I do not believe we will be returning to the before NFT time. That wonder has escaped Pandora's box, but there is still hope left. :-)
NFTs are not like AI, where they do something no other technology can. They don't provide an opportunity to do anything people can't, but want to. There are many industries that have produced products only a few people were interested in buying, and plenty of them just go away.
The whole sales pitch for blockchain is that it's not supposed to need or have regulatory oversight. The entire function of the "tech" behind it is to create a permanent public record, and the only reason a permanent public record is allegedly a good thing is that it doesn't require a central authority to control it. As soon as you have the oversight of a central authority, we already have systems in place that can do everything blockchain does, and for all the faults in those systems they don't require you to give your information or money to a demonstrably untrustworthy third party.
Help: Installing with DIM on drive DHi, new to DAZ. Been trying to install on a new PC for days, and mainly getting a mess.
I used DAZ Central on a my laptop, on drive C, but Studio insisted on downloading morphs and everything from my OneDrive all the time. Now I moved to a new desktop, and I attempt to install everything on a different drive D (not C).
After some reading in the forum I thought I'll try Daz Install Manager, since I also have content from Renderosity and others. I understand that I need to tell DIM what folders to use for what, then tell it to Studio in Preferences -> Content. Seems simple enough, and it kinda works, but I still get a mess. In my Content Library I now get all kinds of libraries that I don't think should be there, like a lot of "data" with UVs other files that Content Library doesn't recognize anyway.
Also, many files seems to be installed in the wrong places, like materials of the same asset in different libraries. Should I move them all manually now?
I attach my DIM installation and Studio Content Directory Managers current layouts. Can you tell me how they should be corrected? And is there other things I'm not aware of?
Thanks!
Missing products in DAZ CentralLittle Nook and
Wooden Rowboats
Dont list in DAZ central but do in Install Manager.
Wooden Rowboats is this weeks DAZ + freebie
Little Nook is in this weeks new releases. Its in my product library and it shows up in Install Manager but not DAZ central.
Show Us Your Bryce Renders Part 12:( I posted mine late at night central time USA.
Thank you all for the nice comments. That image is very old so it's not eligible for the contest.
I just uploaded it to see if it would work.
Daz Central Base PathIf there are Install Manager settings already in place Daz Central will let them stand, just noting that paths are managed by Install Manager.
Daz Central Base PathI am installing daz central on my computer and trying to change the base path in it from my C:/ to my D:/. But it resets everytime i try and change back to the c:/.
I had no problem changing the Daz Studio Install location but for some reason the Base path change does not set. Anyting i am doing wrong or need to change?
