The 'Ariana Day Out' Bundle is interesting for D+ members. $ 5.99 plus a Spotlight item is nice. I bought the bundle mainly because of the SUV and the hair. Ariana is ok as a kinda unlikable character, although she looks somewhat similar to the other kinda unlikable character in my collection, Victoria 9. I'll convert the little dress into a fantasy outfit with some shaders and add leggings and boots. The shoes - well, not my cup of tea.
@carvelle, I bought the bundle afterall and finished a render of Ariana in the dress, which has a welcomed skirt length morph and others. The high heels, well, the character would have to be standing on her toes to wear them. I used some sandals for my render. I generally don't do open mouth smiles (teeth baring = threat in my mind) but I did one from a pose set with expressions and it turned out okay. I would post but... forums being cranky. I am not sure about her teeth, I have seen folks refer to some teeth as chicklets and that might describe hers. Again, I rarely expose them, although there was no issue with smile sliders or other expressions. I did not try either of the two makeup options. I wish this PA would take a little more time with the promos, as it may cost them sales. I have avoided them in the past for this issue.

Combining Multiple Converted G8 Morphs in a G9 Figure: Help!Okay, it turns out this isn't just my morphs. I combined two Genesis 9 figures (Olympia 9 and IST Shahina) and they're doing the same "doubling" of morphs—instead of moving the verts an average of the distance between the two morphs from the morph position of the base mesh, they're adding (or subtracting the values), creating an exaggerated figure. (Or at least this is what I think is happening).
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix?
Genesis 9 VERY slow parameter responseI noticed using phenotypes on G9 was causing the figure dials to load very slow and it would change until I loaded a completely different G9 figure even after I dialed the morph to zero
Lips transfer.Yeah so I figured out what the problem was, instead of applying the head (double clicking on smart content) I just used the face slider on the gen 9 dev load which then allowed me to apply the lips on top. For some reason if I apply the face morph from smart content it doesn't allow me to apply the lips but if I do it the other way I mentioned I can apply the lips.
Thank you all for the help.
Lips transfer.Exactly, as FSMCDesigns mentioned. So normally we will sent to Zbrush or Blender to sculpt more.. for in such a case of using a Custom head morph, the technique of removing vertices of Lips' shape won't work...

Check Currently Used... if it comes from a single dial of a character's Head morph...
Shape Splitter does work on G9 but I've never tried extracting a unique partial shape from Lips. I also doubt if you can make a perfect result by default settings as FSMCDesigns mentioned, though the splitter can calculate the weight of vertices. More likely you need to use a dFormer with weight map on the head, but there's no dFormer preset for G9 along with the product, so you have to create one by youself.. if needed.
Yes the head is a single dial. The lips that I used for the model on the left are from the Big Lips Morph by Anagord. So I wanted to just apply that straight to the model on the right. But for some reason whenever I try to apply the big lips morph to the right model the lips don't change. I'm assuming that's because the head is a single dial set to 100%? It's just annoying that the lips won't change when applying the big lips morph.
If it is just a lip morph, then you should be able to apply it to the other model as long as they are both the same generation. Keep in mind that since the two have different face morphs, even if youi do get the lip morph to work, it might not look the same as it did on the other model.
How do I archive my SBH & DS figures to free-up my systemYou can delete your original morphs IF and ONLY IF you've saved them as morph assets in DS first. You need to do that in order for them to be saved in the data folder.

How do I archive my SBH & DS figures to free-up my systemHi everyone,
1 - I'm looking to free up my old computer by archiving my many DS figures and SBH projects which I have created, at present my SSD is hanging in at 9GB and in the red!

2 - Also, I've created at least 100 G9 morphs which are saved on my desktop and all have been launch via Morph Loader and save as morph assets .......Can I also delete these??
I would love to archive around 100GB at least to free-up my system. Any advice is more than welcome.
Thanks in advance

first you need to see if it is a custom face morph, or just lots of little DAZ morphs where you can just duplicate the lips morphs used. If it is a custom face morph, you "might" be able to use shape splitter to select just the lips, but I doubt it
Thank you for the reply, how do I know if its a custom face morph or just lots of little Daz morphs?
The shape splitter on the page doesn't have genesis 9 on the compatible figures so don't think that will work.
Yet Another Character IDThat is Michael 9. It is certainly his skin, maybe the morph was tweaked slighly.
Shape Shift for Genesis 9 (Commercial)Hi. Just remove that morph from their product until they update it. No need to uninstall the entire thing. End of the day, Shape Shift came out first. I am not gonna update my stuff to fix an issue with a competing product. Regarding Fit Control, it is basically done, kinda working on 7 stuff all at once but never finalized either of them lol.
More flat shoes please!I can't count the number of otherwise great outfits I've passed up entirely because of high heels. It's the first thing I look at and almost always end up groaning and moving on.
Medieval assassins that mostly operate on muddy ground do not dress like catwalk models. Ancient world warriors fighting on sand do not benefit from stilletos.
It's hard mixing and matching the surprisingly limited number of non-heels to get something that looks like it would fit with the outfit, so I've just given up buying high heeled outfits entirely.
If anyone that creates these kind of outfits is listening, can you PLEASE at least give a flat shoe option in the form of a morph, or make the heel detachable whenever possible?
Given the prevalence of heels on basically every outfit, I have to assume the creators know their market and they're more profitable than flat or historically accurate footwear.
Genuine question - are there really so few people out there who need serious practical outfits for renders?
Long Load Times – Why is this still a problem?marble said:

I'll be even happier if they find a way to reduce the lag between closing DAZ Studio and being able to reopen it. That can take much longer than the load times.
I imagine that there are many variables that affect the shutdown time for Daz Studio. Early last year (or maybe late 2021), I was experiencing long shutdown times before DS was available to reboot. Many times, I resorted to forcing its shutdown via the Windows Task Manger. Something changed for my system in late 2021 or in 2022 and DS almost immediately shuts down now, I just loaded a scene from Elf Village and World Builder (https://www.daz3d.com/elf-village-and-world-builder) and timed Daz Studio's shutdown using an online stopwatch site. The shutdown time as about 2 seconds. I’m running DS on a Windows 10 laptop with 16 Gb RAM, Nvidia 2060 with 6 Gb VRAM, and a 9th generation Intel i7 CPU.
For the sake of comparison, I have a Windows 11 PC with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 64GB RAM and a RTX 3090 with 24GB.
If I load a scene without characters, the shutdown is quick - gone from Task Manager in seconds no matter how many objects in the scene. When I have more than one G8 (especially G8F characters) the shutdown delay is lengthy - several minutes (usually between 5 and 10 minutes). I can't help but think this problem and the load time problem are related.
DS cleans after itself, clearing the registers, memory addresses, wiping the dust off under the bed and on the top shelves - That takes time especially when one has a scene that takes 20-40+GB's of RAM.
Sometimes shutting down DS hangs and never finishes, one culprit I have found is duplicate morph files, which may have erroneously been included in some unrelated product (usually freebies)
First Light Bundle HairThere are a number of style morphs as well as blow morphs. I tried fiddling around with the morphs but I couldn't get it fully as wanted.
I also tried to add dForce, and while I got it to simulate, I never really got it to behave the way I planned. The geometry of the hair caused issues. Maybe more fiddling with dForce settings could improve it.
The image is with morph joggling.
Face Transfer on Genesis 9Well that's the thing, Face Transfer morphs are practically useless without purchasing the add on morph pack, because of how flat the faces are coming out of it. There is not a morph product for Facegen like that. On that basis alone, FT is not actually doing anything better than FG. When using the morph fixers, it is relying on the work of PhilW more than the Face Transfer morph itself. If any PA created a morph pack aimed at Facegen, that could change everything. But I think there are plenty of morphs out there than can do this already. Rarestone's Miya character comes with a variety of really good face morphs for cheek bones, with 2 or 3 different morphs that can slim the cheek bone down quite nicely. Rarestone also made great 200 face morph packs for G8 male and female, which have all sorts of nose morphs.
Don't forget you can morph a face inside Facegen itself, too, and try to tackle the cheeks that way. Though I wish FG had an "undo" button. You have to really pay attention to what the number on the dial is before you hit the dial.
Another trick can also be placing the auto dots on the cheeks further inward. Where you place dots can have a big effect on the result. The new versions place dots automatically, but you can fine tune them.
At any rate, I don't often use 100% of the morph FG creates, though I did for my example pics in the last few posts. You can also whip out the smoothing tool on the cheek bones in Hexagon or Blender.
The thing that Facegen does best is texture. It is unmatched in that area now. A couple years ago it could be argued for one software or another being better in specific cases, but now Facegen has a clear lead on creating the texture. I have noticed the FG does a lot better with fringe hair and other things, on top of blending in so well with the textures you pick. Face Transfer does not give the user any choice in texture, you only get the base texture for G8M or G8F and that's it. Facegen can use literally any texture you want, even it it makes no sense.
I even tried a set of pure white texture boxes that were 4K in size to see what would happen. It colored them all to match the head texture as best it could, though this doesn't work so well with a photo. However, this could work with a toon style character! It is a wild possibility, and that is something that only Facegen can do currently. This freedom lets you use any texture set you want, so if you like a certain character's texture set, you can totally use that. Of course you cannot distribute a character model made from commercial set (unless it is a merchant resource), but the option is there for users to render them as they wish. So you could use skin builder textures with Facegen. Or you can do like I did above and use Victoria 8.1. The choice is yours.
Lips transfer.first you need to see if it is a custom face morph, or just lots of little DAZ morphs where you can just duplicate the lips morphs used. If it is a custom face morph, you "might" be able to use shape splitter to select just the lips, but I doubt it
Lips transfer.Hi all I have more questions, seems like I have question after question when I comes to Daz as a lot have probably been in the same position.
Anyway my question this time is, I have two different G9 Models next to each other. One has some lips that I like and the other has the rest of the face structure I like and want. Is it possible to take the lips from the model on the left (in screenshot) and apply that directly to the model on the right (in screenshot)? I don't want the rest of the features of the left model just the lips.
Thank you for your help again it is greatfully appreciated!
