What happened to the split-up outfits?

I liked the split items, and I don't see how it would hurt folks who didn't like them. You could still buy the entire garment if you wanted to.
And have a huge mess in Daz Central and Smart Content as every single piece was counted as separate item. Same for the store, for that matter, scrolling past countless "piece of outfit" items was somewhat annoying.
Makes me wonder what the sales results were for full outfit vs. pieces, but I doubt Daz will share any ratios/percentages.
Yeah I can imagine it just being a mess for asset management at the store, and for consumers.
How to install Daz Studio? If you are getting "postgreSQL CMS connection" errors it seems likely that the installation was not done correctly. I don't know about the Daz standalone installer but via DIM it should install postresSQL alongside Daz Studio itself. This package is required for all the metadata/smart content parts and so Daz Studio will complain if it cannot connect to it as it is not designed to work without it.
It does sound like you either have a really bad internet connection or your antivirus is getting in the way and breaking stuff. I have only ever had one or maybe two zip files with that error message and it was down to slight corruption that was fixed by deleting the zip and re-downloading. Lot's of people have posted about various issues relating to over-zealous anti-virus so perhaps if that might be the cause you can try temporarily disabling the anti-virus while you install.
I would advise against trying to do things without DIM (or Daz Central I suppose) as you'd only be making things harder for yourself by having to do things manually before you have really learned how things work.
How to install Daz Studio? You can install content using the following methods:
DIM, Daz Central, Dax Connect (from inside Daz Studio), and manual.
I think you can download Daz Studio as a package and install, but if I don't know where to find the package.
I have been using DIM all the time, and it has worked reliably for me.

When you are saying you can't install with DIM and/or Daz Central, do you then get an error message, or is it that you just not can access it in Daz Studio?
So you just answered my question just before :).
Thanks, I thought it was possible to access these commands without using dazcentral or manager, so it's a bit like steam, one can't go without the other.
Well, bad weather for me, what I wanted was just to bring my creations to life in Zbrush.
Can I still download an up-to-date and legal version of Daz studio? Even if I don't have access to the store, which bothers me, a little but hey, I should be able to manage by creating my assets with zbrush. According to the tutorials I've seen, there's already a lot of possibilities with just that and I'd like to let go of my graphics tablet a bit to try something else.
How to install Daz Studio?I tried all the afternoon and I even started to learn a little the basics with some tutorial but with only the software and nothing else I could not go very far with tutorials since it was necessary to pack them genesis. But I love it anyway.
I would all like to uninstall (again) then reinstall only daz studio without install manager and daz central since I can't get these programs to work, is it possible?
If so, can I still access the store and download a pack if I buy one?
I tried with a free pack but it sends me back to install manager, is it possible to download them normally as an archive? like that I could do without these two programs by having access to the store. I've read it quite a bit, I think it's great to have paid offers full of little free content and I also saw that it was super easy to open my creations with ZBrush on daz.

How to install Daz Studio?Uou can use Daz Install Manager, DIM, https://www.daz3d.com/install-manager-info
That is the elder install manager, where you have acess to more settings.
Daz later made Daz Central as a simplified version targeted new users.

How to install Daz Studio?I had tried a few months ago but I had reconnoitered because of the following error "installation will begin after installation"
I thought that with time a fix would arrive but no, still the same problem.
Is it better to wait for a stable version or can we do without daz central? I have never managed to install daz studio with it yet.
Trying to reinstall a fresh version of DS?CCleaner > Tools will also give you the means to uninstall things that you might not be successful with otherwise. Not sure why DS isn't uninstalling for you. Are you using your Daz Central to uninstall it?
I've never used that so I don't know. DIM uninstalls DS just fine. But I'm not sure DIM is still available to download. Can't seem to find it anymore.

Uninstalling the software will NOT touch your library - possible exception being stuff that comes directly within the application - and I don't think it has that, but comes as separate packages that come with it.
Changing the location of your content will totally screw you up entirely, unless you don't mind adding it back in. This is where DIM and possibly Daz Connect will help. I've never tried Connect, but every time I move or remove or change my library I use DIM, because that's what I ended up using to put it together in the first place.
Problems that WILL occur by doing something like this will come from anything you've already saved and wish to keep. Moving the content location will remove Studio's ability to find it again for any of your saved creations - the exception to that is if you move your library using the database related apps - DIM or Connect.
Good luck - I hope it all works out well.
I am using the Daz Central for install.
The issues I was having were "fatal errors" with The DazStudio...-not- my content. I was hoping to uninstall, and do a clean re-install. But for some reason, its just not working right.
I want it all on the external drive. Which, I thought, wouldnt be much harder than uninstalling>re-downloading>reinstalling everything on the external drive.
But it seems either the computer or the program has way different ideas.

Right-click on Daz Studio Formats 9and Poser Formats in its turn, if there is Poser-format content)>Add New Base Directory. Select the folder required (the oen that holds the Data and Runtime folders). There is no need to rebuild the database as it uses relative paths anyway - the only thing that deals in abolute paths is Install manager/Daz Central in the manifest files.

thanks SheLuser, because im pretty sure its still not showing up after i dragged data, people etc that was located under content,
You better create a DAZ library folder on another drive first of all other than using this directory on your C drive. Then press F2 in Daz Studio and configure the path of library in Content tab - Content Directory Manager. Then use Install Manager or DAZ Central to install Zev0's product (IM.. package) instead of direct dumping. Load a G8 figure, you'll see those morph dials. For 3rd parties products, suggest use Content Wizard to install then you'll have them in Smart Content.
Polish - Prestige Business Office Bundle -Missing files.Daz3D never responded to my trouble ticket. I messaged Polish on DeviantArt and will await a response.
I installed it with Daz Central. Did anyone try installing it manually? I'll give it a go and see if that fixes it.

Have I said recently that I hate Daz Connect?
Not today, no...

I hate Daz Connect.
Wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. I don't hate it but I feel pity for the new users that fall into that trap because there are no warnings about logging in to DS when one uses DAZ Central or DIM to install ones content.
Loving Daz Studio! My working habits probably differ from many other folks. It's fun to see how everybody sets up their interface to best fit their flow.
After watching Jen Greenlees' Learning Daz Studio - Basics (which I really like!) I've learned a lot about Studio's interface. I always knew how to dock and rearrange, but she has some other really useful ideas, tips and tricks in there that really helped me get myself set up how I like to work. Thanks Jen! You ROCK!!!
For example, some tools for me are just fine left behind the Window > Panes menu. Just open them when I need them and close them back down. Other things that I'm using all the time, I like to have docked. I also enjoy how easily we can resize certain aspects of our docked panes, like divide the vertical area in two to have separate toolboxes, arrange the tabs on the top instead of the side... all kinds of possibilities that are fun to play around with.
I used to have GenX2 docked at the bottom with the Timeline and aniMate 2+, and just drag that whole panel up when I'm using it.
But I realized that:
- I don't need the window to be that wide
- I only use it once in a while because after that the job is done and I'm free to use my new morphs!!!
Same with Alberto's ABAS (animated textures system)(Love this thing!!!)(used in the demo image) - I find it to be a nice, smooth workflow to simply open it through Window > Panes, use it, then close the window until next time.
On the right (image) we can see a very small portion of my Anim + dials. This image shows only a few of the main body Anim + options that I like to keep together in this large category, then I also have Anim + menus within Hands, Head and Legs sections (within the Pose parameters menu) for more options related just to those parts. Some Hand, Head, Leg and Foot dials also reside in this main group - I set it up for what was convenient for my workflow.
The Hip rotation dials were a recent addition to set the facing of Rosie at the beginning of the actual animation for simulation purposes. I rarely need those but when I do they're really quite handy and quick to use. The "Posture Shift" controls adjust the rotations of the central rig between the head and hip. With these the head and hip parrallel relationship in space doesn't change, though translation along X and Z do occur. In better terms, if she's looking at something, no matter how we dial any or all three of these postures, she'll still be looking at what she was before. Also the hip remains completely unaffected, so they work across walk cycles nicely. I made these first to correct joint rotations that look great on, let's say Victoria 4, but not on Rosie 7, for example. But I've discovered since then that they are incredibly useful for many things, like shift a car, getting the right 'sit' in a chair or simply adding a bit more movement.
The Hand poses we see in this image are not the hand controls I normally use. These result in a simple, quick hand pose to remedy having no joint rotations on the fingers at all. But the Hands section has a much more robust hand animation system.
On the left we can see the structure of Rosie 7 Cyberpunk's stored base file.
"Cyberpunk Samurai" is the name I've given the costume. That listing in the Scene is a group containing all of the conforming clothing and the bits that are attached. Since conforming cloth has the same rigging structure as the figure it's conformed to, I was able to attach the Sword Node from Aeon Soul's The Legend to the harness clothing item she's wearing. This makes it easier to disable things for simulations and other situations when needed. We can also see that the Tank Top shirt isn't in that group. It is included in the Wearable file but is kept out of that group to be more efficient when I run it through dForce. The Face Controls are part of Rosie 7, so that's not even part of the Cyberpunk Samurai at all. Nor is the hair or headband.
External hard drive and daz library? You can definitely have one (or multiple) library on an external drive as well as one on your main drive, as long as you add them all as content directory in DS preferences.
I don't think you can install to multiple directories with Daz central though, DIM would be better for that.Does Anyone Have the Intrepid Explorer Phoenix Spaceship? SOLVEDRichard Haseltine said:
If you don't have the circled triangle icon on the product and daz Studio is online, or has been since you purchased the product, then the system shows it as being installed through Daz Connect (the content panes in Daz Studio itself). If that is the case then an installation through DIM or Daz Central will be ignored. If you don't want to install content through Daz Studio it doesn't need to be online, and in this case I would try a right-click on the product and select uninstall (which will remove the Connect files, which are probably missing anyway, and use the DIM files instead).
Thanks Richard. I clicked uninstall on the product and the product came back, which is the opposite of what one would expect!! Now scenes and subsets in which I have the IEP load as they should.

DAZ3d customlayout saving issueUninstalling will not remove user-content or settings, by design (this should be true of most software, though some may have an option for a factory reset).
You can clear out the DIM/Daz Central list of installed content by deleting the Manifests files (check the location from DIM's settings) - just be aware that if a file exists already next time it is installed DIM/Daz Central will note that mark it as not to be deleted on uninstalling, so you want to be reinstalling to a new location or make sure the actual files are gone. DIM has an option to reset paths to defaults by right-click menu in Advanced settings.
You can reset the database inside Daz Studio before uninstalling that, or after installing a fresh version - Content Library option menu (the lined/hamburger button in the top corner or right-click the tab)>Content DB Maintenance>Reset DB. You can, I think, reset the content directories to defaults in DS by deleting all of the existing ones in Edit>Preferences>Content tab>Content Directory Manager (some, at least, will revert to their default if there are none explicitly set but I haven't tried it in geenral).
