Outlet and Quick Grab Discussion

Daz changed the time of the refresh a couple of weeks ago, possibly in order to solve outlet items not being refreshed on Monday: now, the refresh happens around 6h before the usual start of a Daz day.
Thank you. Where, if you please, did I miss the notification that would have warned me against this unpleasant surprise?
I was about to grab six products. Now with the new week's update, I'm not sure I want even one of them. Unpleasant.
Hallelujah!
DiscipleNotification?
There was a user post reminding folks of the change over earlier in this thread.

Friendly neighborhood reminder that it's changeover day! Grab what you wanna grab before it rotates out at Daz midnight minus six(ish) hours!
For anyone new, that's for Quick Grab only (Outlet won't change until 8/1 if Daz keeps to their routine). Prices won't change on the page until Daz Midnight but should be correct in the cart.

we could avoid the witch hunts - at least in this corner of the web - by labelling AI products and be transparent about it. so I'd be all for this feature, that Renderosity and Renderhub both already have.
The thing is, where does "AI Products" start?
Isn't using scripted enhancement procedures in GIMP/Photoshop/etc not already "use of AI"? Using a spellchecker on a products description - AI or not? Using AI to make a background, using only material - pottery, paintings etc - that has been made by me, by hand - photographed and then transferred into a useable format (.jpg/.png/etc) by using a script and then used to train the AI so it uses only these things in it's differrent attempts to generate a background picture, fitting my description of my idea, to produce something that can be sold to be used by others - AI?
Details usually matter. Imho they matter quite a lot, when talking about AI, as many people don't even recognize how much AI they already have been using for totally mundane things for quite a few years already.
Yes, products that are to be sold should be marked when AI was used for their production. But also the type of AI processes that were used should be mentioned, as using AI not automatically means "art was stolen to make this"
And coming up with a short list of what was done by AI for a product probably could be done with AI quite easily
Creating a believable animated shower in Daz Studiounless it's in slow motion, footage of a real shower doesn't even show that much detail
it's mostly steam
you probably should be concentrating on the droplets on the skin more if getting that close and personal
there is a droplet product
I don't own it or know how good it is for animation if at all though
or if they could be deforced
or if animated decals products using a script by Casual or in store one, to move them down the vertical offset couldn't do the same thing

I left my Rendo store as they started requiring vendors to upload new products more often than I could (they may have changed that since, I don't know). I'm no longer an 'active' PA here at Daz, though my older products are still allowed to stay on sale. Not sure if that'll change though.
So where is your active store now then? It would be nice to see some of your more recent products.
Thanks, but not currently active anywhere - if I had the time, I'd make something for my Daz store. Many of my old Rendo for-sale products are up on my RenderHub as freebies though (link in sig).
I love your Compact Cyberpunk Apartment Series and if you ever want to revisit that world I will buy it. All your products are excellent.
Thanks :)
And yeah, I have ideas, just no time. I was thinking of an underground/basement level to the apartments and a few other ideas, but teaching (my day job) leaves me mentally exhausted lately. Plus I'm working on my second novel (part 2 of a trilogy), which is also stalling for lack of time and energy.I'll pay $$$ for someone to invent a time compressor

@csaa Since this is your first visit to this thread, what are you even talking about? This is not a discussion of generative AI. This is praise for a feature introduced on Renderosity. There is some deviation from the core due to Daz people having their views on AI in Daz products. And that's really it.
Thank you. That was exactly my point when I started this topic -- I like the notification on Renderosity as to the AI status and content, which then allows you to decide whether you want the product or not an act accordingly.
Please help me find a Dforce skirt with a ruffle that starts out as a circle around waistThis artist has an amazing circle skirt:
Faux Recursion: Update + Variations | Daz 3D
Elile the Dancing Maid | Daz 3D
It's amazing!!
There is a free one here: dforce big skirt circle for G8F This one is amazing. However, it is too long without ruffles. I will certainly use it, however :)
Here is a Poser dynamic skirt: Snow White for kids4 3D Figure Assets Tipol I posted a picture below of how it looks when first loaded. I have a project going on in DS, so pease ignore the water and things in my pic :)
I used it here: Trick or Treat by jan_scrapper
It was, also, used here: Sleepy Kitties by danidh I loved her art and she has not posted since 2021 :(
Matt Castle, if you ever release your very cute skirt, I hope I can get a copy :) It's so wonderful!!

No, it is deleting the metadata not the actual files.
Although the CMS database is a PostgreSQL database, and could be edited, direct editing is not supported and may go wrong.
Thank you for the answer, I won't try editing the database. Fixing my mistake is tedious but not difficult. Fixing a database error is beyond me!
Follow up question: If I accidentally delete one or more items in the 'Products' section of the 'Content Library' for products that I purchased from DAZ would the product still appear in the list of products when selecting 'Re-import Metadata' from the 'Content DB Maintenance' menu? If it remains in this list then I can recover the metadata easily but if disappears from this list how would I get the metadata back?
Yes, the products should appear in the list unless you have their metadata files deleted in runtime\support folder.
If you installed the products via DIM, you also can go to DIM > Installed tab, filter the product, right-click on it > Re-Import Metadata.
Or, re-import a single metadata by using this script, which may be faster : https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/618456/add-to-smart-content
Thanks! I think I can take care of my problem with the information you've provided and this information will also be helpful should I ever do something stupid again!

Smart Content not updating just-installed items: SolvedIf there's no cms connection issue, you can further check if the metadata of the products you mentioned have been successfully imported into cms database by: in DIM > Installed tab, locate the product you've installed, there's a database icon on the left of Date column. If its color is dark grey, it means the metadata has been successfully imported, if it's in light grey, the import was failed. You can right-click on the product > Re-Import Metadata...
Smart Content not updating just-installed items: SolvedFrom DIM, its the stack of pancakes up in the right corner, second from the right. When it is OFF, there is a diagonal bar through it, otherwise not. Click it to toggle the status, after confirming.
There is no direct indication in Studio, but you can tell it is ON if you have the content type flashes on the asset icons (Actor, Prop, Materials, etc.) for those products that would have metadata. If it were OFF, there would be none. From the hamburger menu (Smart Content tab, or Content Library tab) look for Stop CMS and Start CMS.
Changing the size of a products hover image.Nope, apparently you have metadata updated via Daz Connect, now the product thumbnail images locate in Daz Connect folder (in different product folders IIRC...). You have to modify the images there
Then never update metadata again otherwise the bigger image files will be replaced.
Edit: Anyway, suggest you never tick Update Metadata option when log in Daz Connect.
Smart Content not updating just-installed items: SolvedPerhaps your CMS is/was turned off temporarily? Smart Content is a product of the metadata. Without CMS, no metadata, no Smart Content. If products were installed with CMS off, their metadata would not be processed. If it restarts for some reason, the older stuff would show, but nothig that was installed while it was off. I say this because it has happened to me once or twice. How CMS got turned off, I have no idea.

Off Topic Thread #2Thanks for your reply, Steve. Earlier in the year I was recovering from a bone removal operation on my wrist. For a long time before that I could hardly do anything with my hands due to pain. Now that I can use my right hand again, I would like to get back into real drawing and painting. Much as I would like to set up a studio to walk into and work most days, I'm currently spending most of my days with someone close who is receiving end-of-life care. That isn't mentioned for sympathy - the commitment generally means that I'm not good at keeping up forum discussions. (once a day or two has passed, I feel I shouldn't have people click on a thread just to see a brief thank you or whatever -which is probably wrong.)
The set-up I described, though, is all I could ask for in the meantime. The screen size and pen combination just feels perfect. As for Clip Studio, there are many great alternative drawing packages but not all have animation tools.
Best regards.
Changing the size of a products hover image.I'm trying to increase the size of some of the product's hover images. I'm not talking about the images of the various files in each product but the overall store type image. See tha attached images for a couple of examples.
I think I found the images located in the directory:
MyDaz\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\Runtime\Support
But when I change the image size nothing happens, even after restarting DAZ.
Is there a way to change the image sizes?

This was done in Poser by several product artists.
It makes draping so much easier in certain poses.
I can pair the skirt with so many products I have the top for.
I have a feeling with will be moved to product suggestions and if so, so be it.
I made the exact one I want in Meshy AI, however I am do not know how to add Dforce to it. Perhaps I need to make it Deciminated more if it is too many megabytes. It is 11 mgs now.
The is the link to my shared Alice in Wonderland freebie files.
There is a Clothes File in there. It's the circle skirt that I would like to add dforce to. Please make this a dforce skirt for me :)
I have Decimated all of my obj files so they are not so heavy in Daz Studio. If something doesn't work, I am sorry!!! This is a freebie and I don't know what I am doing LOL
RSSY 3Delight and Iray to FilamentIf something is installed with both Connect and DIM then DS with use the Connect version. So in cases like this you need to uninstall the Connect version too, not just install it with DIM.
RSSY 3Delight and Iray to FilamentThanks, crosswind. It initially didn't work when I used DIM, but I deleted the data in the Daz Connect folder, re-installed and now it's working.
