Hi Richard,

Forgive me for not getting back to you sooner. I checked the driver on my RTX 3060 rendering computer, and saw Windows had "updated" it to the Microsoft version without my permission. Typical. 

I can't seem to roll back the driver to the previous one installed too (which worked flawlessly). I signed into the Nvidia experience app, with hope of installing the driver I had before from there, but now it's changed to 'game ready' drivers and there's no option to switch back to installing Studio Drivers. The three little dots on the top right corner beside 'search for updates' has vanished. 

I'll try and see if I can sort this out as it's Nvidia driver related rather than Daz Studio.

It would be great if we can tell Microsoft to please-stop-updating-drivers-without-my-permission, but no is not an answer for them. It's stuff like this which only pushes me further to switching to Mac OS. Though I have no idea how Daz Studio runs on a Mac.

Thank you for your help anyway. I'll have to search for a solution to the game ready vs studio driver issue when I can find the time. 

It's not a huge balagan though as I'm using this driver mishap to build indoor scenes and explore further scene lighting options.

And there are a number of freebie pose convertors (eg mine & n_alexandru's - both in the freebie forum and as they work differently, it may be worth looking at both). Autofit works quite well on every G8 article of clothing I've tried, except shoes. So, you can try it out for free before deciding to spend money. G9 comes with a few textures, so you can try it quite extensively before spending anything.

Sorry to hear that - as i don't own that plugin, it is difficult for me to understand why this doesn't work: At the product page the packaged files seem to be a normal  material preset .duf file and the textures in the runtime folder.

I got it, at least this one. I got the idea to search for the Vendor Name instead of the Product Name and found it. I don't know why it did that, but at least for now I know where to get it. I suppose that's always something I can change later, but for now it works.

 This is why I asked my question here...there was no mention that these are NFTs. The descriptions of what they are are vague at best

There is also an unofficial Discord server that I believe another user has mentioned to you in reply to another post - this server has more activity than the official server.

What else did you try as you do not appear to have explained any of that?  You still have not mentioned which of the three Daz-supplied installers that you use. How did you even get Daz Studio installed on your machine?

I use DIM and so I can just click on the "Install Manager Ready" button and that will open DIM and offer up the product for installation (if not already installed). Even if I don't do that I can just run DIM directly and it will go look for any purchased products that are not installed and offer to install them with a click or two. I believe Daz Central would be similar in that it would offer a way to install the product for you if you tried. For Daz Connect, if you use that, I think you could just search for it in Daz Studio and it should show it as a greyed-out icon and double-clicking it would install it.

Also, I understand how to relocate content folders and update Daz Studio to find them, and I know how to designate a new installation folder in DIM. I know I can change the setting to make DIM install updates in the new folder, but what will happen when I try to uninstall an installed product (which I do regularly for old content or large products I don't use regularly), will it know where to uninstall it from? Is there a way to batch update the manifests with the new folder location? Or is the smarter thing to do just uninstall all products using DIM, designate a new installation folder in DIM, and then reinstall all products using DIM (since I have to copy everything anyway, I assume this won't actually take that much more time than copying the content using Windows)? Or is the amount of time for DIM to uninstall and reinstall all those files an order of magnitude slower than copying the files in Windows?

I assume from the first question that you kep the zips - if so you can select everything in the installed tab, right-click, and use the option to reinstall everything using the current paths. You could also use soemthing like Notepad++ to do a search and replace across all files in the Manifests folder to update the stored path.

My PC specs are similar to yours.
Animation is single threaded for all software.  
So that heavy hitter CPU is only using one core.  So fastest CPU is still best in 2023 for animation. Eyeroll bigtime.
RAM amount is good, but ram speed is the most important for anims.
GPU has zero bearing on anim manip - unless it bottlenecks - which higher end GPUs don't generally do.

Click IK bone in filament and drag.
Takes about 5 seconds holding the mouse dray button the whole time and then bone posing moves normal speed.
However there is a moment with all these chars&morphs where up top at DS menubar says 'not repsonding'. Happens at about second 3-4.
While still holding down mouse button drag a smidge. Non response disappears and now easily move.

Moving anims out of DS means the whole game of export, are all bones there, all morphs, geografts working render appearance for mats change.  
And learn new software.

Feels hilarious to say in 2023, anim-users are still limited to single-thread for anims and moving assets around to get them fully recognized is still a lifestyle time-wise.

Also, wendy's screengrab is one of they key parts.  Play with that. That and draw style pane.

Found the script. Noticed my 5 second loading when moving a limb is down to 2 or 3 now, and turning the cam in the viewport is closer to 20fps versus its previous 5 fps slog.

Definitely considering using animation software for the rest of this project, but not really sure what my next best steps should be.

The default position is that you cannot contact a PA directly. Obviously, if the PA checks the forum, sees your post and chooses to engage with you then they can but I think this is a little rare. I would strongly advise against posting your email address in a public forum post and I suspect that a mod would remove it anyway.

If you want to send a message to the PA to specify your thanks you can probably send a message to Daz support who may pass on your message if they feel it's best, but I am pretty sure there is no way this will lead to any email/direct exchange.

Also, there is the possibility that the PA and yourself do not even share any languages in common and so a discussion would be tricky at best.

As for compatible products for Hiro 5: He is based on Genesis, an old and relatively short-lived generation that no one is making products for anymore. Search the stores for Genesis content, there's a medium amount of compatible products out there, and what you see now is all you'll ever get, there likely won't be any more of it.

Hiro 4 (Generation 4), Yuzuru (Genesis 8), and Kota (Genesis 8.1) are part of generations that lasted much longer and can draw from a significantly larger pool of compatible products, and there's still some new products being made, especially for G8/8.1.
