That *^!#^*!#$ Clear Button!
But...
I don't often use the timeline to simulate so an explosion means starting over.
Explosions may be rare if you are so very careful but dForce is so much less forgiving of intersections, either with itself or with the parent figure or anything else, for that matter. So yes, you can spend 10 minutes checking every inch of cloth to make sure it isn't intersecting with something but then you decide to change the pose a tiny bit and forget that might cause that intersection you have been so carefully avoiding. Also, that 10 minutes is added to the already silly amount of time it takes to simulate a single dress.
I appreciate your optimisim so I am not getting on your back because of it but I can't ignore the downside of dForce just as lots of others here complain about animation or render times or VRAM usage. It is hard to be so positive when we can compare with other software that is years ahead of DAZ Studio in some respects.
Nevertheless, I prefer DAZ Studio to Blender because it is designed for what I want to do - make pictures using ready-made content. And DAZ Studio brilliantly offers so many shape adjusting and posing controls that nothing else comes close. I can create a whole world of characters from a set of maybe 20 purchased G8 characters and a few morph sets. So I will put up with the shortcomings and try to highlight them here on this forum in the hope that the message gets delivered. I too want a better DAZ Studio to play with.

One thing that isn't obvious when using the "Selected" options is that it is not enough to select the clothing - it is also necessary to select the parent figure and anything else the clothing comes into contact with. That can make using the selected options a bit tedious which is why I tend to set scenes up with everything set to "Not Visible in Simulation" other than dForce clothing and their parent figures. Then I hide (CTRL-L-Click) any figures that I am not simulating. It is a bit of a chore going through the whole scene and changing everything to "Not Visible in Simulation" and I wish that was the default.
It used to be my headache as well until one day I got dForce Companion. Thanks to ManFriday~ The plugin makes dForce manipulation pretty easy and fast, especially saving lots of 'clicks'~ A really worthy buying

Funny thing is that I have it but found it more hassle than doing it my own way. I kept forgetting what was selected (or not) in the scene and what options were active in the Companion so I stopped using the Companion. I have bought too many of these "helper" utilities only to find I'm not finding any benefit to using them.
Oh, sorry to hear that~ People always have different preference and ways of doing things. On the contrary, I really benefit a lot from the Companion which is the only plugin pane on the left panel. But I also agree there're quite a few plugins/helpers/scripts are useless or are not that useful...
Yeah, we all find the ways that work for us even when there is probably a better way. That's the point of forum threads like this (other than the forlorn hope that DAZ people might actually read and take notice of them).
That's true! Totally agreed

Wonder what advice I get if I say I want a ryukin for Daz Studio. I don't know if there is any demand for a realistic 3D ryukin as they are kinda like a little fish?
https://www.daz3d.com/catalogsearch/result/?mature=false&q=goldfish
Google search on 'ryukin'. I couldn't resist.
Regarding a 'Vulcan' did you want a 'Human-looking one with green skin, pointed ears, slanted eyebrows, bad hair like the 60s? Or the later ones with weird foreheads? Good luck on those, if so. Clothing, check out medieval, wizards, Japanese outfits.
Need help making a rigged prop!If you wanna make a seamless 2nd thumb to the figure's hand, geograft should be the best choice. Just copying thumb node will not work for your case as there's no new geometry for the new thumb node. You may search Josh DAZ and Sickleyield on youtube, both of them ever gave some good tutorials. And you need to know at least one modeling / sculpting software. A finger with nail usally needs a good scupture or you may directly 'cut' the original thumb's geometry as the graft's base ~

Hello,Another Hair ID requestHello,
Can anyone help me to identify this hair that was used in an image by barbult? I did ask in the forum but due to the numbers of posts it seems that my question got buried. It is apparently for G8 but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks for any replies.

There is a problem a problem with the "Femme Fatale Bundle". https://www.daz3d.com/femme-fatale-bundle
While it appears in some sale list and is properly displayed on a search https://www.daz3d.com/catalogsearch/result/?pp=40&q=femme+fatale+bundle&mature=true&s=score&p=1&guid= the link leads to an Ooops page.
Where is it being listed?
Daz Original Sci-Fi Classics sale (90%off with coupon) https://www.daz3d.com/sci-fi-builder-items-for-you#order=popular^1&filtered=1
And, interestingly, it can still be purchased by adding it to your cart from the thumbnail in that sale.
Better Blender to UE5 bridge for Daz contentYou guys don't know about gltf 2.0 format, don't you? Just search it. It is kind of a fbx for PBR generation.
Filter for the Shop, Database & Product LibrarySearch isn't free text, it uses tags - so presumably street is not set for this (not entirely unreasonable since it's a square).

Request: Please List Products Used in PromosTaylor-S-Rose said:
I don't know that I'd say PAs have any responsibility to list the products used in their promos.
I just find it frustrating to see a promo image of, say, a hair asset with a nice model with nice clothes, and have no idea where to find the models or clothes. Though I think I may have been spoiled by Sabby over on Renderosity, who posts full lists of promo assets with all her products. I think she's an exception.
So that's why I posted this request regarding products, here in this product request forum.
Hopefully some PA will read this request and it will compel him/her to list the stuff they use in their promos.
Or they're just as free to list products without detailing the assets.
It's just a request. :)
I have asked for this for years...since 2005!! There are many products here and at Rendo where other products used in the promos are listed! I appreciate that so very much.
It is truly an missed opportunity for the other vendors.
When you download a free product, usually the creator wants you to give credit if the product is used.
I have a few gallery pics here and at Rendo and I definitely try to list all of the products used. I want to acknowledge and show appreciation for both the freebies and paid products. I want to help sell those products. I want the creator to know all of their hard work was not in vain and it is wonderful to use.
I certainly understand Vincent van Gogh not listing all of the products he used! LOL
However, I do a lot of crafts...like furniture painting and stenciling. I belong to a lot of groups that showcase their hard work. I do want to know what type of paint and where they purchased the stencils. Trust me, my work will NEVER look the same :(
Well, there are, indeed, two sides to every coin. Sometimes, I work on a project in DS and have no idea whose shaders I used if I mixed a bunch together...which I do. Sometimes, when playing with morphs, I use so many that I would have to look at "Currently Used" in DS, a function I love!! In the galleries, I state in my comments that I will be glad to open the file in DS and do a print screen of what I used :)
Please know, that when I begin doing my own artwork, that I don't want to just copy the promo from the product. My creative juices start flowing...I start experimenting and my work is my own. I, also, don't want to be accused of copying the other artist.
I was absolutely embarressed seeing two gallery works at another site that looked exactly alike. The first artist was, of course, upset.
So, I am so very thankful to the vendors or promo artists that take the time to list products.

A quick internet search on radiator placement offers two possible reasons (which suggests that no one really knows) - that that space was most likely not to be used by anything else, and that it was the coldest spot and so gained most from the heat. I find the first most plausible.
I remember someone saying that it's to prevent or minimize the 'draft' when the glass radiates cold. The need of course depends on what type of windows one has, with triple glazing there is very little if any 'draft'.
The draft usually comes from around the window fittings and frame, not the panes. Unless the panes are not well mounted, of course.
It's not real draft but a feeling of draft as the panes are so much colder than the air in the room, and when one goes near the window, one feels like there is a draft
Also remember that the cold air against the window pane falls to the floor and spreads out from there onto cold toesies.

The I Miss the Old Days Complaint ThreadSomething is weird again... okay the forum is weird... okay weirder than normal.
The other day when I posted there were a lot of posts missing that apparently showed up later (now)... I definitely didn't see Dana's or TJohn's and I'm pretty sure Wendy's with the garden implement wasn't there either... in fact I'm positive it wasn't there.
I'm wondering if it's an iOS thing...
How I even noticed was when I turned on my iPad and went to the forum, the window was open to my last post so I refreshed and suddenly the screen loaded and then auto-scrolled up to Dana and TJohn's posts from two days ago... that's usually what happens when you refresh... it scrolls up to where you last read... well, within a post or so of the last post...
But I posted at least twice since then...
Is that necrorefreshing?
Weird.
The other possibility is parallel worlds overlapping again... but I have a quality quantum ekdilosic-decomangulator running all the time that is guaranteed to prevent parallel universe overlap.
