Hid Forum Categories now cant get them backIt hasn't worked in many months. Maybe even a year or so. I've tried countless times to unhide a forum, hoping it is fixed. But nope, it's just not going to be fixed, I think. It's been brought up before, and a ticket had been submitted but that was way back in September or October if memory serves correct. The I Miss the Old Days Complaint ThreadMcGyver said:

Is Daz Studio able to do 360 degree renders for VR? ,there was a bug that meant everything became inverted when viewing the 180 degrees 'behind' the camera. Has that been fixed yet?
I'm not aware of any fix to that problem. Many people seem not to notice. I'm not sure whether their 3D depth perception is poor, or they are fooling themselves into thinking it is working, because it doesn't look flat. The store even sells an anaglyph product that purports to create 360 stereo images, but even the store product has the problem. I haven't tried creating 360 stereo in Daz Studio lately, though.
Thanks for the update, it's been years since I used VR, shame to hear that bug was never fixedI am not aware of the described problem. In any direction you can see the correct 3D impression.

The panorama was rendered in Iray from two 360° cameras. To set them up just add two new cameras and use the following settings.
Lens properties for the left eye:
- Lens Distortion Type: spherical
- Lens Stereo Offest (mm): -30
Lens properties for the right eye:
- Lens Distortion Type: spherical
- Lens Stereo Offest (mm): 30
I think it is crucial not to move the camera itself, but instead use the Lens Stereo Offset parameter of the spherical camera!
Maybe Daz or NVIDIA have fixed something. I haven't seen anything mentioned in the forum or the release highlight threads about a fix. As I mentioned, I haven't tried if for a long time because of the depth inversion problems. The settings you showed are the settings I have always used. I'm going to try again. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Hid Forum Categories now cant get them backDid you just try that now? What browser are you using? I thought there was an unhide at the category level, but I just tried it and the forum I hid is, as expected, hidden, so there's no gear icon to click. I'm in Chrome.
Hid Forum Categories now cant get them backOnce you have gone to "All Categories" you should be able to click the gear of any forum that you think is normally hidden and get something like this:
If it says "Hide" instead of "Unhide" then that suggests it is one of the categories that you didn't hide in the first place (at least that is my experience)
Daz Install Manager (DIM) 1.4.1.87, Now Available! (*UPDATED*)My experience with the sort order on 1.4.1.22 on both Win 10 and Mac OS Ventura is they are different for 'Order Date: Recent First'. Windows is now accurate if you have a new order to download, but the Mac OS versioon is wonky. Today's order had 2 new items and 11 older products, taking advantage of the sales. I had to search by product name and thankfully 5 of the items started with the PA's name V176, so I was able to find them fast.
I just don't understand how one version can be fixed and the other one broken, and then it is fixed and the other gets broken. Can't we get both fixed for good?
On a positive note, each time I open DIM, I swear the opening time is decreasing, even when there has not been an update. Is DIM remembering our libraries better or something? Or am I delusional?
And on those PS files, I often find I need them for the geometry, so don't hide them until you have opened up D|S and checked out that the older DS files work without them installed. One other thing about them, is if there was a material set was created for an old file and even if its set was updated to the new Daz file structures, the material set may need the PS file still, so they will work. (This is true for artists who have left Daz.)

Hid Forum Categories now cant get them backAwhile ago I decided there were too many categories in the forums so found a way to hide the ones I do not read. Now I want to add one of them back in and I cannot figure out where I did it or how to do it. Typical old man loss of mmory trick right there.

All of my scripts write their information to the registry. If you are comfortable using RegEdit, you can load it, search for Turbo Loader and see what it is saving. I don't know why your registry would not be working though. Do you have issues with other of my scripts?
As a stop gap until you figure this out, the Save and Load buttons at the top will save your morph list to a file.
I see your other products like "render doctor", "look at me" etc.under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\DAZ\Studio4PublicBuild and also under each instances name (e.g. Studio4PublicBuild[1]) but no" turbo loader" here. I also quickly checked if your other scripts still can access the registry for instance Render Doctor writes Custom Filename under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\DAZ\Studio4PublicBuild[1]\D:\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\scripts\riversoft art\render doctor\render doctor.dse which seems to work. Also reopening Render Doctor shows the changed custom filename. But no Turbo Loader whatsoever. Cecked also other locations like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Do you write a log entry if you cant access the registry? Or how can I check what it tries to access?
I'm using your workaround which is fine for me so far (I only must ensure to save out the new list once I installed a new product with morphs). However I'd be pleased if I got it working correctly.
BTW: Character load time dropped form 2:30 to 30sec. But that's not important to me. I like to pose using IK with the Active Pose Tool. I had a slide show with one frame every 2 seconds - unusable. Now it is 6 frames per second with just the hip locked and the hand dragged. Even with heavily customized characters. So despite my quirky installation it's already a winner for me.
Well that is great the other apps work. And I am happy TL has helped you, but let's see what the problem could be.
It must be crashing then. What is the log saying?
March 2023 - Daz 3D New User Challenge - Posing and Posing IIBeginner Challenge - March 2023
Are you new to the 3D World? Are you at the beginning stages of learning 3D rendering? Have you been around for a little bit but feel you could benefit from some feedback or instruction? Have you been around awhile and would like to help other members start their creative journey? Well then come and join the fun as we host our newest render challenge!
Posing
This challenge is a general render challenge with the focus being on how you pose the characters in your image. We're providing you with lots of great links on Posing from a variety of sources. To get started, find a photograph or drawing using this link or eg for dance poses this link to use as a reference. (Be sure the image you use is labeled for commercial reuse - though we will only be using it as reference, alternatively use your own personal photographs for reference.) Additional searches approved for use include Running, Fighting. (These links go to DuckDuckGo, which may give different results for different searchers, and should give everyone plenty to choose from.)
Then try to pose your character as closely as possible to match the reference image. For this challenge, please post your reference image or a link to it, and your render. This will give forum viewers an idea of the pose you are trying to achieve and will lead to more helpful suggestions. Have fun!
How to Use Your Software:
Software is often updated, and online tutorials and information often demonstrate older versions of the software. The software version you are using may differ in User Interface and tools available. rendered skin low res + render too fasthey everyone!
started a new work and decided it was time to try and "fix" my character's skin render. For some reason it always looks low res compard to the rest of the textures (clothes, etc...)
I've just spent the good portion of 2h researching how to fix this but all I see is "denoiser is bad" and "change your render settings". Usually my render settings are:Render Mode = Photoreal
Max Samples = 10000
Max Time = 0
Rendering Quality = 3
Rendering Converged Ratio = 100%which I actually got from this forum since my render was waaayy too fast and crap. Anyway... the lighting used is https://www.daz3d.com/iradiance-crystal--sparkle-rich-hdri-for-iray which I suspect is partly cusplable but it also ahappens with other lighting so... *shrug*
thanks for any help you can give! <3
EDIT
after opening photoshop I noticed that the black textures are also the same... :(EDIT 2:
I changed my render settings and even with 1500 max samples it renders in 30 minutes... is this the problem? I can't make it render longer so it's not finished and it looks low res?
Body LocksMoved to Product Suggestions as it is an in-search-of-content topic rather than a Daz Studio Topic.

I was wondering about doing something and instead of actually doing it or starting a thread asking if it made sense to bother with or if it's a waste of server space (I always keep poor little Burt in mind as he has enough of a burden) I decided to ask an opinion here... since both Richard and Frank seem to mod this thread I figured their input is kinda important too in regards to this...
I was thinking of starting a reference image thread in the Art Studio forum... I take tons of reference photos for stuff I make or as ideas for scenes and I was thinking of going through them and selecting some of the more useful ones that people might be able to use for a project or as a reference image.
Its probably stupid because it would be kind of random based on stuff I've thought was interesting or useful and I know that th Internet is full of images on anything you can imagine, but in my experience it's never what I want or includes the kind of helpful details... I see lots of people make models too that seem to be good model makers, but they omit certain simple and glaringly obvious details and I've wondered if they just aren't finding good reference material.
The most likely starting point would be architectural reference images and machinery details... stuff that would be good for modeling those type of things or modeling... Like last week me and my daughter were photographing some ruins on the grounds of an abandoned psychiatric facility and a lot of the images are good references for horror or apocalypse/dystopian scenes or modeling.
I feel like it would evolve over time, probably based only comments/input, but I dunno it seems like it could be an interesting thing and might even draw people in to discover DAZ if they find the thread using a Google search... so sort of an asset for DAZ in a way.
If this is a totally idiotic idea and a waste of server space or something forbidden (I don't get what's forbidden sometimes, it seems kinda hard to predict/interpret) please let me know.
If it's okay and interesting I'll start going through my collections and figure out how to do this in the most sensible arrangement/presentation and manner.
This is an example of a dilapidated machinery kind of picture...

I know, I know it's portrait format, not landscape... but it made sense for this item.BTW- It seems the subject is some sort of hot water exchange unit that controls hot water delivery pumps... based on surviving labels on a different unit nearby.
Those shader nodes are a mess!
