Is there any possibility of a scorpion variation in the future?

I'll start:

A lot more monsters and weird stuff. Teapot headed people, living chess pieces, really weird aliens, more and more monsters. (Monsters sometimes do ok and a few PAs make great ones, but... MORE ;)

Realistic armors and footwear, particularly for women but also just generally. Particularly for Genesis 8; there's a lot of cool armor through the generations but the more rigid the outfit is supposed to be the worse it is at autofitting.

A LOT more animals (modern, dinosaurs, etc). There are some excellent animals/dinosaurs in the store, I'd just like about 50x as many...

 

Went on a Black Friday weekend shopping spree in Dinoraul's store at the rendo to satisfy my dino needs and finally bought the new DAZ House Cat (gonna see if I can transfer Lynes' wild cat morphs to the newer cat; wish me luck). Definitely would love more realistic animals. A ram to go with the DAZ sheep, cape buffalo to face off against my lion pride, a new rabbit and hare, a MOUSE... and a columbian mammoth and/ or whoolly mammoth with proportions closer to DR's mammoth which is no longer available since CP closed.

Polish's Deathpion Sci-Fi Scorpion Mech gives me hope we'll see more Zoids animal mechs for sale. I have CyberD Model-1, R.A.P.T.O.R., Mestophales Mech Dragon, Hailey's Comet and RoboRex for the Digital I Rex (plus more from CP), and the new mecha sets have me craving for more awesome mech animals such as ligers and sabertooths.

Agreed. I'd been trying to find a decent 'Scorpion' for quite a while now, and the 'Snake SMG' in Pack 2 is excellent.

If Polish checks these posts, I hope he'll consider doing Mini and Micro versions of the Uzi (MIZ SMG), sometime 

1) When you realize you have too much content in your computer, and decide to delete everything and start from scratch...
2)...Only to take more then a WEEK to download what you need...
3)...then you realize you absolutely NEED that Victorian-themed spiral corkscrew with a scorpion handle, because it'll be useful in a future picture...
4)...and then just redownload everything again.

They look similar, like they are closely related but they ain't (well that's subjective I guess), that's why I suggested it. That and being reasonably certain you'd find one of those before you found a water scorpion.

It's called a water scorpion. In real-life, these can be hand-held, not in this story, it's over 6-feet long and is attaching a couple of teens in a rowboat. Anyone up for the challenge?

yeah i know and i love it, i had bought the genesis 8 catworld male ad female, but the problem is which most of his genesis 8 are "single gender"(most male), would be cool if him could add both genders for some of then and add others type like the half scorpion or half spider some more variations not just "regular bipeds" types, not saying they are amazing but again since we already got some "spiders" even ants and centaur, others variations would be cool to have, like my suggestion of the 4 or maybe 6 arms race, would be cool have some new type of humanoids creatures or even monsters for new generations.

I'd like to start a discussion of new ideas to throw at the content creators out there, because we are all too dependent on old ideas and legends.

Lots of monsters and creatures are available, of course, but what I'd like to see more of are monsters that would fit in with Earthly ideas of evolution.

Like winged animals (other than insects) that only have four limbs, not six; their arms would be wings, and leave prehensile feet (and tail?) for holding things. Wiverns instead of dragons, harpies instead of angels/devils. Of course versions of those already exist, which is why I use them as examples.

Other ideas would be multilimbed sea creatures that evolved to live on land. There are some existing Chtulhu types, but what about other kinds of octpods with shells or whatever. Crabs that grew scorpion tails.

Okay, who else has novel ideas? And if you have a favourite, overworked creator you want to annoy bring into this thread, feel free. They can blame me for starting this

This is an interesting topic.

So, I’d wager you were one of those who saw Avatar thinking: “Why should this creature have six limbs?”. “What has driven the evolution to give such a number of limbs to those animals?”.

Evolution has run its course on Earth, so I think it’s very hard, or should I say a great challenge, for a PA to imagine and create a creature that could fit “real evolution”. Every sci-fi creature comes from 2 kind of backgrounds generally. From another world following an Earth-like evolution, or from Earth following a different evolutionary path. I think the 1st case is more common than the 2nd one, but in both cases artists have to dream up something completely unreal in order to start their work. Then, here’s the big question. Where is the boundary of our imagination in this case? What can make your creature more “realistic” or “natural” than another one?

We wouldn’t believe some animals can live (or lived) on Earth. The most of dinosaurs would had appeared as monsters to our eyes if we had never known about their existence before now. We also have flying fishes, crabs with blue blood because the copper in its composition, platypus, fireflies, extremophile bacteria, etc. etc. Why should a fish have a saw on its nose? Not to mention plants! There are so many “strange” living beings we already have on this amazing planet, and it’s very complicated to imagine something "realistic" that nature has not already done. That’s why an artist often moves his imagination to another planet that allows him to have some freedom of maneuver, with the risk of creating something that may appear “fantasy style” to other people, but that’s just because imagination varies from person to person (good thing!).

Beyond any particular request, i love complete collections. I mean, if you make a pretty nice Lord of the Rings inspired character "Frodo", i need Sam, Gimli, Aragorn, Legolas, Boromir, Arwen, Eowyn etc. But don't stop just with main characters,  we need clothes, props and enviroments related.   
If you make "Kitana" outfit from Mortal Kombat, i need Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya, Mileena, etc.  IMK inspired enviroments, weapons, etc. 
The bigger the collection, bigger my interest.  I really don't like when a collection is not complete.

Unfortunately, no. There haven't really been any belly piercings for any of the males of the Genesis generations, I think. (I won't swear to that, but I don't remember seeing many.)

Neither the Alternative Piercing Pack nor the Piercing Collection for G8M have a navel ring -- a weird omission -- but it might be possible to parent one of those items to the right place. They're items with rigid follow nodes so it may be possible to fit it where it's supposed to go, and then move the ring where you want, and it might -- in theory -- actually stay where you need.

A question: what do you need it to be? If all you want is a simple ring, you could make a torus primitive, shader it, parent it, and call it done.

I found a 2 inch long scorpion in my shower this morning so I was late for work.  I dumped my crappy shampoo on it

I live in Central Texas, but that is the first time in my life I have EVER seen one.. I don't know if the shampoo killed him.. I think it was bedhead shampoo ..i don't use it cuz it dries my hair out, I shouldv'e taken a picture of him.  McGyver  hahah yeah, I wonder if there is a toon scorpion I could put in a scene... with bedhead hair

I have lived in Austin since 1989 and haven't seen any scorpions at my house.  Stay away from Krause Springs though.  Scorpions love the bathrooms there.
