As for the beard, the Kit Harington (Jon Snow) beard by Uncanny Valet comes close. Search on Google.
Conversion CrisisApologies for inserting myself into your thread. I'm in the same boat too, so I thought I could contribute to the discussion!

The one step way is to use a clone. Unfortunately I don't really understand how to do it. Catherine explained it in a tutorial, and I never quite followed, and then foolishly lost track of the tutorial. I think Crosswind also explained it once too. Anyway, I have never done it and worry about getting the character textures on the converted character. Sorry I can't be of more use.
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the candor.
The topic of conversion is probably old hat for most folks, but new for me. Searching for G8 to G9 conversion by means of a clone turned up two techniques:
- The Daz-only Fit-Suit method (by Jay Verselus) - The tutorial has a video and a step-by-step instruction replete with screen shots. Way towards the bottom there's a forum where people talked about G3 conversion to G9.
- The Daz-plus-Blender method - This procedure relies on a Blender add-on called Daz Generations. That first link to the tutorial also has a forum where people give positive feedback.
I have to admit this aspect of Daz is pretty new to me, so I haven't tried any of these approaches. Eager to try them out though, particularly the Blender one.

Cheers!
Can't Get OrganizedI still struggle with the way DAZ organizes their content. DIM would be fine if DAZ adopted a more sensible approach to organizing content.
But instead we have a mass of "PA" folders, and even every single item in a folder has the PA's initials before the name of the items.
Props and scenes are scattered about with incosistentcy.
All too often I decided not to buy products for those reasons.
I actually feel let down by DAZ because of the need to search for my products.

I use Riversoft's character convertors, and it's relatively easy to convert from Genesis 3 to 8, less so from G3 to G9 in a single step. No conversion necessary for G3 to G8 textures & material settings. With clothing (except footware) much of the time G3 to G8 & vice versa needs no convertor at all as the only thing that often needs doing is to change the default target character (sorry, not explaining it well as I'm not infront of my machine & so can't specify the steps)..
You mention G3 to G9 conversions. As I'm only taking tentative steps into character conversions, how has your experience been? What tools worked for you?
Looking at the Forum thread for RSSY's G8 to G9 migration tool, folks are reporting mixed results. I came to Daz during the G8 era so I'm in a holding pattern now, hoping that there's a good way to keep my investments via character conversions.
Cheers!
As far as I can see there are no commercially available G3 to G9 convertors in one step. You'd need G3 to G8 and then G8 to G9. At each step there is a risk of error, so one step would be much better. I have tried a 2 step V3 to G3 and then G3 to G8. Well, to be kind, I could recognise that the result had arms & legs, but any relationship to the supposed character shape was entirely accidental. 2 steps is best avoided if possible.

I am not a huge fan of G9, I admit. I have a couple of Mousso G9 characters I have paid for (a deeply traumatic experience) and a few more I got for free, a couple of Cynder Blue characters paid for (more trauma), and that's where my memory fails me. None of the others enthuse me enough to even remember them. V9 is memorable, but I rarely want an image with her in. Oh, and Zombie 'Beau'; have used the feminine version, but not in an image I was sufficiently pleased with to show.
Regards,
Richard

This won't help you on freebies or items bought at another store, but in your on-line Product Library, have you typed in 'Halloween' and looked at what comes up? Or 'Mexico' since they have the Day of the Dead. Other search words might be 'Scarecrow', 'Pumpkin', 'Gourd', 'Fall', 'Smoke', 'Fire', 'Ghost' 'Storm', 'Fog', 'Barn', 'Blackwood Manor', 'Victorian', 'Haunted', 'Graveyard', 'Zombie'.
These are just a few words I pulled from my promos or memory that might find some items you may have bought over the years. Maybe they will bring to mind some others?
Mary
Do you mean by "on-line Product Library" like logging into my Daz account and looking for purchases? if not, I haven't. normally I just go to the store and look up something generic and see what comes up and see if it shows I purchased it or not. Like this morning, I remembered a pool that I like. I searched pool and it didn't show up and that's because pool isn't in the title. It's was under kitchen.
Yes, that is what I am referring to. Also, when I am looking at a product, I look at all the elements in the product and categorize the separate items. If I had purchased an environment set that had a pool for example, I would take the pool and categorize it as Props>Architecture>Pools Water Feature (a sub-category I added) then if I was looking for that I would be able to find all pools, fountains, etc... This is separate from 'Plumbing Fixtures' which I try to keep out of Furniture, Decor, Other, General, and every other weird place they have been assigned because someone has no idea they are part of a building's architecture. A pet peeve.
I want to give an endorsement to @IceDragonArt. I purchased her tutorial years ago and it was very helpful.

This is not really for organizing stuff but an offline catalog of your DAZ products, but it has some advanced and fast search functions specifically designed for DAZ products, plus DS library integration. Can also be used for easy download of promos, if nothing else. And it's free.
Oh thanks for that! I have a lot to do today, but I'm going to squeeze this in and see where it takes me.
I have too much stuff and little patience to sort through things... So for me, having anything that makes it a little easier to search for and view things helps. So I want to say how much I appreciate the offline content management tool Taoz built and linked to here. It gets a big recommendation from me!
It gives offline access to product images and readmes that are quicker to get to than searching the DAZ store website. I find that especially useful for making better use of the many pose and lights sets I have. The Boolean search on titles also means I can search for generation specific hair or clothes, light sets or HDRI, and view the results in a nice tiled-image-view to quickly find what I like or am searching for. Searching on order day/month is also handy for when I'm participating in challenges or just want to test out something new, and have access to the details at the same time. So any time I use DS now, I have Taoz's content manager open as well.
Searches in the products or files category in Smart Content are okay but miss things and throw unrelated things together at times too. Searching in 'files' in Smart Content rather than products allows me to search in prop and pose names for things that match (like 'reach' pose or 'basket' prop). Not all things are in Smart Content of course, so not everything will show up, but it's useful for some quick things for sure.
It'd be fantastic if PA information was included in DIM so we could search on those, and if DIM included a column for user tags that are saved and that we could search on. Just adding a few keywords as tags to new purchases in DIM would simplify categorizing and finding things so much more!
Well the main thing for searching the store is tells me what I've purchased at the same time. but at any rate, I'd still like an offline solution and get things better.
Ron Deviney logo (preferable as a brush)Hi there! I was wondering if Ron Deviney (not sure if @deviney is working to nudge him but can try ;P ) has a logo in the shape of a PS brush? Would like it if it has a store address (or any adress so those that see it can find him/you and get their own brushes :) )
I admit that I thought I had seen one in one of my brushes packages but I only find a round one in the Space brushes package, which doesn't have any address or such on it.
The reason I'm asking for this is that I plan to make some profile art but wanted to make sure that Ron was credited properly as it won't be seen here on the forum or galleries. If none is available I use the round one I have and try to add a address to the store here underneath it, but figured I should ask just in case there is one that I have missed or something :)

I'd ask directly, but there are 10 different Polish Recipients in the Forum email and I don't know which one is the actual vendor.

You're welcome! I'm glad you found a way that works for you! If you have a lot of content my way takes a long time to do but is easy to keep updated after that. I lost all of my categories at one point. It took me 4 months of working on it every day to put it back together lol. But, for me, it was worth it as it suits my workflow much better.

If so, you have to turn on Preview PR Hairs on the fur nodes, as well as set Viewport Line Tessellation Sides >= 2... before Iray preview.
Be noted, doing these may consume more system resources in DS Viewport.
That looks exactly like what I want, but I don't have those options available to me. When I try try to search for "preview PR hairs" or "tesselation", nothing comes up.
In Scene pane , you should've selected those nodes of ...guideHairs rather than Dire Wolf per se.
I expanded them all and clicked on every sub-item. I wasn't able to bring up any parameter setting like in your initial pic.
Again, make sure to select those ... guideHairs nodes ! Carefully check the screenshot down below ~~
Hahaha thank you for your help and patience, I didn't even realize you were selecting them all and that I could as well.
Did I screw something else up? Wolf still not appearing rendered...
You still didn't give them the correct and same settings...
1) Turn on Consolidate Properties in the context menu of Parameters pane. (screenshot 1)
2) Ctrl + Select four SBH nodes in Scene pane as well as Parameters pane (screenshot 2)
3) Set Preview PR Hairs to On, Viewport Line Tessellation Sides to 2 (screenshot 2)
(Or you give the settings to the SBH nodes by selecting each of them one by one....In your screenshot, you only gave the settings to the fur on the ears !)You should make sure you can see all the furs are generated in Viewport before Iray Preview.
Thank you so much for doing an ELI5 for me! I finally got them turned on. I really appreciate yur help.

Ive seen people posting about the macania outfit hair before and theyve never shown a screenshot of the problem, and today is no exception of course. As said, if it is an SBH object, it should be unparented and zero'd. And if that doesnt fix it you can turn the Disable Local Transform option to Off then back to On (or the other way, from On to Off etc). The key is just to toggle it to something to "refresh" the SBH. If it is not SBH object, but instead a dForce hair you need to ensure Surface Transforms is on.
The jacket loads with the collar correctly in place. When a pose is applied to the character, the collar remains intact—there’s no problem. However, if the character is then translated along the X, Y, or Z axis, the collar shifts away from the jacket. I'm not sure what "SBH" or "refresh" refers to—could you clarify?
SBH object is the icon circled (3 squiggly lines). This type of object always needs to be unparented and zero'd. As mentioned above.
Refresh means: after unparenting and zeroing, click the 'Disable Local Transform' option to Off then back to On . I couldnt properly circle it in the screenshot as people on this forum seem to love to cut out relevant information when taking screenshots. You only need to do this if unparenting and zeroing didnt fix it.
Thank you for the quick response, I'll give this a try. :)

The futile search for Genesis 9 Male clothesI haven't purchased many Genesis 9 items. I decided to do some research and update my Wish List.
It took a long time to scroll through the "Unisex" Genesis 9 clothing selection. I giggle when using the word "Unisex" because it's not really accurate. There just isn't any division between male and female clothes.
My arm and hand get tired scrolling though so many ladies garments looking for some good male clothes. And there aren't all that many male clothes.
So I give up for a time and look for male hair. At least there is a better selection of male hair, even if I need to scroll past all the female hair to find it.
