You need to right-click on the product container - the "folder" under products in the Content Library pane or the product thumbnails in the Products tab of Smart Content. Those commands are the ones you get for a file (within the product container or in a non-product listing).

Thanks Richard for your help. I have found the install menu in Daz Studio and reinstalling solved the problem. I'd be interested to know why the first installation didn't work and why reinstallation via Daz Central didn't correct the problem. But anyway, I'm now more annoyed by the fact that some products (at least one at the moment) cause Daz Studio to crash when rendering...

  • Daz Central not recognizing installed assets

Here I posted a screen capture of:

    1. Me trying to select the directory of the assets on Daz Central.

    2. One manifest sample on a text editor. I am mentioning this as an example of what the installed files understood previously.

On Daz Central, I have tried to select different levels of the path. From only C:/Daz 3D to C:/Daz/Applications/Data/DAZ 3D/My DAZ 3D Library but it only allows me the basic path C:/Daz 3D

  • Laptop Hard Drive space almost full

Better to have the application on the C: drive (you'd have to reinstall it after a disc replacement anyway), but all the data can go on an external drive (with a speed penalty - be aware that a lot of externals coem formatted with a system that is compatible with many systems but slow, if you ar not expecting to switch OS it may be sensible to reformat forst - it made a noticeable difference to the drive I use for DIM downloads). Daz Studio and the Content Management System don't care where your files are, as long as they are in the correct relative place in the content directory. Install Manager and Daz Central do log the exact location, in the manifest files, so to be sure everything works you may want to do an in-place renistall (if using Install Manager and you kept the zips) or edit the files to update the path.

We added G9 support to the ROG Fantasy shields. G9 versions should be there if you update the product through install manager or Daz Central. Store page doesn't reflect the G9 support yet.

We're also adding G9 support to the Brutal Weapons for G8 product.

    This is wonderful, thank you.

  • Daz Central not recognizing installed assets

I searched the topic on the forum. But I still can't solve my problem.

I have not reinstalled anything, nor moved the content at all. I started Daz Central to install new items recently bought and now all my items have the green button "Install" but most of them are already installed.
I have all the assets installed in
    C:/Daz 3D/Applications/Data/DAZ 3D/My DAZ 3D Library
Searching one Manifest file, for example, Victoria9 has the exact same path.

I tried to update the path on the settings but still does not update. And Probably I broke it, because now I can not see the content inside Daz Smart Content.

I have a screen capture of Daz Central Settings.

    Any advice?

  • Daz to blender bridge not showing up in Daz

    sugarthemis said:

I want to help because i had the same issue

NOT SHOWING in :script -> ok it is ot any more here but ...

NOT SHOWING EITHER in SEND TO

so for those in my case :

when i installed the bridge via the DAZ central or EVEN MANGER it doesn't show up

    WHY ?

because it has installed the dll file (dzblenderbridge.dll) in another folder than the daz studio file which is in C:\Daz 3D\Applications\64-bit\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4

SO here is what i have done : i copy paste the dll file INTO the path above C:\Daz 3D\Applications\64-bit\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4>>>>> PLUGINS

FIRST STEP RESOLVED : the send to blender appear in daz studio > fILE > send to

i don't know if the entire process will worked but ... if my answer can help resolving at least this first step .... then i am happy .....

Your resolution worked. Thank you. Also, if you are using the new Blender 3.6, when you download the bridge it only includes 3.2. and 3.5 scripts even though on the DAZ web page it says it supports 3.6. What I had to do was go to the Blender AppData, C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender and copy the directory 3.5 to a new directory 3.6. Then Daz will display the 3.6 option, and Blender 3.6 will find the import scripts.

So I tried to install the new DTB Bridge just to see what they worked on and it's now gone from my send to section in Daz. I look at my DIM and it shows the file size is -1KB. Also tried to install from Daz Central, still doesn't show up in Daz. Anyone get the new update to work?

I am trying to track down the cause of this issue.  Are you using Mac or Windows?  How many versions of Blender do you have installed, and what versions?  Do you currently have the DazToBlender Add-on installed in each Blender installation?  Please also create a bug report on Github with these answers.  Thanks

I'm using Windows 10 and I have a version of Blender 2.93, 3.0, 3.3, and 3.5 installed on my computer. I have the add on from one of the earlier iterations (it says version 2022.2.17.40) installed in all my blenders, but I thought I had to reinstall it in Daz through the new Bridge from the install instructions. And now that I've uninstalled and reinstalled it in Daz, I can't get it to show up in Daz anymore. Thanks so much for looking into this!

I'll try to create a github bug report in a bit here, I've never done that before.

Thanks for the info.  The new version has a restored DIM installation script which will search your computer and automatically install the new version of the add-on into any version of Blender that it finds (that is supported -- 2.83 to 3.6).  You now only need to do the Blender Plugin Install step for any new Blender installations that you've done after installing from DIM.  Now during DIM installation, it will normally just overwrite any existing files, but there is some edge case where DIM is encountering an error.
Please post the DIM log to github if possible:
    1. Open DIM
    2. Select COG icon dropdown menu in the upper-right corner of the dialog window
    3. Then select Show Log...
    4. The log.txt should open in a text editor window.
    5. Use File -> Save As to save a copy of this log.txt on your computer, then post this file to your github bugreport.

    Thanks much
After posting saving a copy of that file, you can try this work-around:
    1. Open each version of Blender
    2. Select Edit -> Preferences on the menubar
    3. Click the Add-Ons tab on the left
    4. Find the Daz to Blender add-on and click the Remove button.
    5. Repeat for each version of Blender.
    6. Try re-installing with DIM

I got it to work! The problem was I was installing it while I had Daz open rendering something else. I always leave Daz open when I install things through DIM with no problems so I didn't think anything of it, but I looked at the DIM log like you mentioned and I saw something that looked odd, I turned off Daz and installed it and it worked just fine. I never would have put two and two together unless you said to look at the log. So I got it working, I appreciate your help!

Have you tried to download the new blender bridge update? It's now gone from the file send to section for me after updating and it's -1kb in DIM after installing. Tried daz central and no luck either. Just wondering if this is a just me issue or if others are experiencing that too. Just curious what the new updates are.

I just installed it not an hour ago and it works fine.

Hmm, okay then it's a me issue somehow. Thanks for letting me know, I'll keep working at it and see if I can figure out what the problem is!

Yes I installed through Daz Central.

I tried both logged and not logged in Daz Studio but it doesnt change anything.

I have not tried to reinstall Daz Studio itself. Would it be something to try ?

  • Issues in serie with the interactive tutorial

    Hello,
I'm new to Daz Studio. I installed the software and bought $100 worth of content. I then tried to follow the interactive tutorial to train myself but from the first load, it doesn't work:

"Could not open file: /People/Genesis 8 Female/Genesis 8 Basic Female.duf File does not exist".

8.1 doesn't work either. However, I can load an 8 or 8.1 character that I've bought. When I right-click on "Genesis 8 Basic Female" then "Browse to file location...", I see that the duf file exists in the directory and I can load it manually. But I can't continue with the tutorial and then it's the same for each subsequent tutorial (clothing, material...). I have uninstalled/reinstalled "Genesis 8 Female" (via Daz Central) but that doesn't change anything. I have read various posts on the forum about this type of problem but have not found a solution in my case.

For the second tutorial, it is asked to apply "Rocker top" and "Rocker skirt", but I have only "Bardot top" and "Bardot skirt".

Also when manually applying "Flower Skirt.duf" to the Bardot skirt, I have the message "The files listed below could not be found : /data/Mada/Bardot/Bardot Skirt/UV Sets/Mada/Base/default.dsf". This time the file effectively does not exist !

I abandon the tutorial here as the software seems unusable for me. I'm on linux, via Wine. Is this the reason ?

  • Daz Install Manager can't remember what it's installing, and that's annoying.

DIM and Daz Central track their instalaltion via manifest files, .dsx files that go in a directory set in Advanced settings>Installation. Click the gear icon at top-right of the main DIM window and make sure that the folder you are using is not also the downloads folder (that generates different .dsx files, which would overwrite the ones tracking installation), that it isn't on an external drive with inconstant drive letter assignment or availability, and that it isn't being cleared periodically by you or some utility app.

  • Daz Install Manager can't remember what it's installing, and that's annoying.

Hi, I recently discovered about Daz 3D, and to put it shortly - it is one of the best things that I wanted, and I'm happy for having it. Now, about the issue - Install Manager (it'll refer to it as DIM from now) cannot keep in it's memory what it did installed. I install nost of the things it lists, but the lists keep changing, and include what was already installed. Despite that, I can actually use things that I installed, like Daz 3D itself and some of its addons, including 3-rd party stuff, with only potential exception being some starter essential things missing for Genesis 9, where the only thing I know I miss for it is body skins, but I have model itself. The only thing I know that can be potential cause of this is, in my understanding, - by something different in my placement of my library/libraries. I don't know if that can be related, but I want let to know just in case - I installed Daz Central, and deleted it. I was in one of Daz Discords servers where I was originally getting some help, but suddenly all of it's chats got locked for reason(s) I don't know, so I decided to go here. I'll appreciate anyone who would try to give help, and I'll be answering questions and do requests that would can better understand the cause of the issue.
