  • Help me find this figure! What figure was used for this prop?

    Elor said:

Or simply link the product directly: https://www.daz3d.com/alo-kymatia-hair-for-genesis-9-8-and-81-female

@Akhelloos may answer this question, in previous similar questions, the answer was that models were a blend of a couple of characters.

Hi, the main promo girl in Kymatia hair is a blend indeed :)
    Here are the dial values:
    Angela 9 at 40%
    Calypso 9 Human at 10 %
    Josie 9 at 20 %
    Kiri 9 at 10 %
TMA Olivia Full at 20 %
    Victoria 9 at 10 %
Skin textures are from Laura G9 (G9Feminine04), with Translucency Weight reduced from 0.85 to 0.65
Eye textures are from Olympia 9
    Have fun blending!

  • Released : V3D FilaToon Converter, Manager and Tools (Commercial)

The update is not tested yet by Daz, but is "ready to test" on their side. Once successfully tested, you will find the update in the store the same day or the day after. The details of the update are still the same as the ones mentioned before:

    January 2025 Converter Update to 1.1 :
    - Now the Victoria 4 Generation Eyes Surfaces are all converted properly
    - You can now optionally keep the exact original "Cutout Opacity" or "Opacity Strength" value during the conversion process. Note that it is not always recommended, this is why this option is unchecked by defaut
    - You can now optionally switch your render engine to "Viewport" during conversion, preventing you to accidentally launch an Iray render. Set as checked by default. This option is applied ONLY if you make a conversion (not for LUT or MatCap application).

All additional checkable options can be saved as preferences whenever you want.

Is there any freebies and paid Hand poses of Victoria 4,  Genesis Female 2/3/8,  holding up a smartphone and using its flash light ?

I have been searching for a day andDe a half.

Waiting in Line (https://www.daz3d.com/waiting-in-line) was designed for Poser for V4 and Genesis. It contains props (including a cellphone) and poses for them as well as 12 related poses.  It works fine in Daz Studio and is on sale today.

  • Another "What is this" but building this time - solved!

Hey friends, while looking through the older goodies on sale today I found this coat from the Victoria 4 aera, so we are going way back!

What I wish to find is that floor, probably part of a cafe, in the worst case it's from a photo, but maybe someone has a recollection where it comes from

link to the product is here: https://www.daz3d.com/lady-peacoat

there are some different angles so I have some hope that it's a product

    thanks for the help

  • Phone Poses

Foxclaw has a free smartphone and a couple of poses using it for G8F:

    https://www.renderosity.com/users/Foxclaw/freestuff

None is directly what you want, but you'll get a base to work with.

Aurora has a set of hands 'poses' for Victoria 9:

    https://www.daz3d.com/basic-hand-poses-and-props-collection-for-victoria-9

The poses with a prop are wearable presets, so you it'll load the phone directly in the hand, and as a negative, it can mean more work to convert them if the converter you're using is not capable of converting wearable presets (maybe a combination of bones minions and props minions will work, but I have neither of them).

Very nice but how did you did it ? Postwork or in Daz itself ?

    -----

Just in time, and like last January, lighting was a problem and while I didn't know what was going wrong, unlike last Januray, I had a fair idea of where I wanted to end. Except the main character, Warrin, was noisy even after 10,000 iterations (enough to get the whole picture near a 99% convergence ratio). Turns out it's a problem related to emissive surfaces, so I removed anything not visible in the viewport and disable the emission on objects I could not remove (the modelled spotlights overlooking the music scene are not visible but had an emissive surface: I kept them because they are rigged, allowing an easy positionning of the spotlights (as in Daz Studio spotlights) parented to them).

Like @acb and @SofaCitizen, I have chosen blue the main colour, in part inspired by the manga Blue Giant (about a high school student who have fallen in love with jazz and saxophone) and called my render, Blue Giant too:

One day, while reading the local newspaper, a photo caught Lacey's eyes.

Under the article's title, 'Jazz Concert for the grand reopening of the newly renovated Rising Sun', the saxophonist was no more and no less than the man who played for both of them last June, during Music World Day.

'What a perfect timing', she thought, before booking two tickets.

She almost forgot to make sure Victoria was not planning something for the same evening, and a couple of days ago, both dressed to the nines, they sat on the first row and had a fantastic evening, far from the turmoil of the outside world.

    ------------

All items used are in the gallery.

The saxophonist also appeared in a previous render: Fête de la musique

oh wow Elor... you sure made the blue stand out for sure!   Jazz and Saxes are both soo romantic.  And together they are like.. smooooooooooooooth... lol.  Thanks for joining the challenge again this year.

  • Morph from AprilYSH

    Hi everyone! laugh

I'm looking for a way to contact the seller named AprilYSH. I'd like to ask them what character morph they used for the model they used on their promo images of their products:

    https://www.daz3d.com/tempest-hair-for-genesis-3-8-female-s

    And

    https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-deja-hair-for-genesis-3-and-8-females

The description mentions the use of both:

     https://www.daz3d.com/fwsa-zoe-hd-for-victoria-7-and-lf-tantalizing-undergarment

    and

    https://www.daz3d.com/fane-hair-and-character-for-genesis-8-female-s

But both characters are clearly white and doesn't even have the same eyebrows. Which makes me think another character was used as base. If anyone knows how to contact them or have any idea of who the base character is, please let me know. smiley

  • Anitta Hair model...Who is she?

Hi, I was wowed too when I finally saw the render :)
She is mainly "ES3D Abilene" of Emrys & Sabby, in a mix of characters:
    ES3D Abilene at 50%
    Calypso 9 Human at 15 %
    Mira 9 at 15 %
    CJ Mercia at 10 %
    Victoria 9 at 10 %
Skin textures are from ES3D Abilene, (with dual lobe specular weight reduced from 1 to 0.45, because the lighting is strong)
Eyelashes are "G9 Eyelashes Style Dense 01" from Genesis 9 Starter Essentials
Light is "C1-IBL2-27" from "Click N' Render - POP Edition - IBL Set" by Cake One, with dome rotation at 259.
    Have fun mixing!

  • Released : V3D FilaToon Converter, Manager and Tools (Commercial)

Wonderful Artini. Since no one posted any other remark or feature request, here is the update that I submitted this morning :

Only the converter is updated, so only the converter ups to 1.1, all the other scripts remain version 1.0. (edit : it took a couple of more days to submit because of the integration of the "viewport" render engine option).

  • Can i use this program for making games?

Well, you will need content - some freebies do not allow commercial use at all. But for the cotnent included with daz Studio and avaialble through the store, including freebies, as long as it isn't shown as having an Editorial license (and excluding the old Anne Marie Goddard Digitial Clone for Victoria 3) you should be OK if the game you are using usees 2D artwork (renders of the characters and sets) - only if the game includes 3D elements rendered on the users' systems do you need an Interactive License.

  • What do you think about Globalskin addon?

I use GS for a variety of reasons. While I do love a lot of the skins that DS has, they don't go far enough with realism. That said, GS is still not the most profound tool you can use to approach realism. It is still one of the best I have seen thus far in terms of giving you great results right out of the gate for Blender. It also allows you a lot of adjustments. HOWEVER, it has it's own quirks and issues that the devs need to address when it comes to seamless application on G8 and G9 models, and their lack of support for 8.1. There's also the issue of their pre-created bitmaps and makeups that are super generic. You can adjust all this though, and you can even use Daz skin in place of theirs while still retaining the pores, imperfections etc.... Or use substance painter or something else like UCpaint.

(CLICK TO OPEN TO SEE FULL VIEW)

This is Victoria 9 and 8 in Blender, no adjustments at all.

This is Victoria 9 and 8 with GS skin mostly out of the box. I reduced the specular, roughness, displacement and a few other things to my liking.

When it comes to using HDR lighting in blender with GS, it can sometimes hinder the skin's overall realistic look, but it does a better job than Daz. The body skin itself I do not find to be the best compared to Daz does some advantage in that regard.Because you're not seeing private parts, or skins for said modified parts. It's the generic nipples and barbie bottom. Which, again, you can use Daz skin with GS.

Personally, having used their Humanify (which sucked IMO), and now using GS, I am happy with it.There's also the added bonus if you use humanGen, Meta Human or CC4.

And there are trans morphs you can purchase that let you make males into females and vice versa with G8. How is G9 really that different?

Transgender Shapes for Genesis 8 ?

It doesn't come close to what G9 offers and it doesn't allow:

    • to use morphs from G8F and G8M together (I don't remember if a product is available to do that)
    • to use G8F skin with G8M and vice-versa (you need to own a different product)
    • to fit G8F clothes on G8M and vice-versa (you'll either have to autofit them, losing some functionnalities in the process, or buy another product)

If I want a character with Micheal's head, Victoria's body and Dain's skin, with Genesis 9, it's a five minutes process:

    • Load Genesis 9
    • Dial in Michael's Head morph at 100%
    • Dial in Victoria's Body morph at 100%
    • Load Dain's skin
    • Load some clothes

    And it's done.

If I decided to do the same with Genesis 8, each step will take more times, especially the first three because I'll have to either transfert the head morph or the body morph to the other gender base but not before doing some planning to decide which way will be the less headache inducing one: do I have the product to use G8M skin on G8F, do I prioritize using bend morphs created for G8F or other morphs created for G8M, which gender will provide the more problematic clothing for my scene (do I want to use high-heels, do I want to use a top clothing item made for G8M, etc), and so on.

I think just creating the fit clone to transfert morph from G8F to G8M / G8M to G8F will likely take more time than the couple of minutes I needed to have a Michael-Victoria G9 character set.

I know I'm using a simple example but adding more morphs to the mix will just make the gap between the time needed to do it with Genesis 9 and Genesis 8 growing bigger, to the disadvantage of the later, not the former.

I purchased all those products a long time ago and it really doesn't take long at all. You can exchange skins too and autofit always works well for me. I actually enjoy using some of the male clothing on the females for creative fashion looks. I have way more detailed morphs for G8 than exist yet for G9. I really miss Emma&Jordi's morphs. So far I don't see an advantage to G9 and the whole lip/makeup and eye issues are annoying. But I'm loving the FilaToon stuff so there's that, but the shaders also work on G8...
