Thanks for the kind words but I don't think I deserve them. At school I wasn't particularly good at English, and it was just an ordinary school.  I sometimes think I write too many comments on the forum here.

In the play it was described as the origin of the myth of 'the wild hunt' The legend of the Wild Hunt is one of the most enigmatic and chilling tales in European folklore, woven with themes of the supernatural, death, and the unknown. This spectral procession, often depicted as a ghostly cavalcade led by a fearsome huntsman, has haunted the imaginations of countless generations across various cultures.

I should clarify that the visions in Quatermass and the Pit were being created by the remains of a Martian space capsule buried for miilons of years in London. The Martians had modified early hominids brains to be receptive to the visions, and the capsule was supposed to trigger the hominids to  periodically undertake 'the wild hunt' where any hominid that was 'different' would be killed. This relfected the Martian culture of that time. Over millions of years the Martians had died out, and some humans had lost the ability to receive the visions from the capsule, while some were still receptive.

I didn't know Edward, we never met. I had asked a question somewhere about the photography studio I think I was asking if there were any drawings of it, and how did Lewis Carroll get access to it since I had read it was on the roof, and someone replied that the best person to ask was Edward Wakeling since he was an expert on Lewis Carroll and a very approachable person. I was given his email address and he kindly replied within a day or so.. I wish that I had asked more questions but it's difficult to think what to ask when someone has written so many books on the subject. I felt the polite thing to do was read his books first, and then ask any remaining questions after, but I never had the time ( or money ) to buy all the books and read them.

If you want to study Lewis Carroll, it's an almost bottomless pit, and it has to be said that you will come across some things that you might wish you had never found out. I think I wrote earlier, that I think it's wrong to judge someone from the 1800's by modern standards. Some of the things he did were considered quite innocent in the 1800's but would be condemmed by modern society.

I know the Hammer film since it's part of the collectors box I have.  Never heard of "The Stone Tape", so just did a search and found a short clip, but cannot find the full play.  I'll keep an eye out though, cause I do love those old BBC-produced one-off plays.

One of my favourites (and I honestly couldn't give a flying flamingo how controversial it is), is Dennis Potter's "Brimstone and Treacle" (the original 1976 BBC version).  At the time, religious types were frothing at the mouth over it, because it portrayed a heinous act of the Devil bringing about a positive result.  It's not the sort of thing I could link to I'm afraid, but it's very cleverly written, superbly acted with very well cast characters, and is the only example I know of that has people 'perma-locked' into what is quite a conflicting mind-game.  I must stress here I'm talking strictly about the 1976 BBC version which they held back from broadcast until 1987 (the one starring Michael Kitchen and Denholm Elliott), so that's eleven years it was held back from being publicly broadcast due to the religious backlash it generated.

But that's what quality writing is all about:

- If you're left thinking, then that's good writing.
- If you're left angry but thinking, then that's even better writing.
- If you're left angry but unable to defend your anger, then that's writing on a whole new level of genius.

Brimstone and Treacle is the latter of the three, and there's a reason Dennis Potter was such a highly acclaimed screenwriter.
Nothing demonstrates that genius better than that one, and there was you lot thinking The Devlil looks like  Daz's Astaroth 9

I once had a discussion with a work colleague who was quite religious ( I know that's a tricky subject here so i won't dwell on any religion aspects of our talk) I described what happens in Brimstone and Treacle and asked him if  'curing' the young lady was a good deed, even if it was done with evil intent. He got very annoyed and walked away.

I liked 'Blue Remembered Hills'  Even though the actors were adults it was easy to think of them as children.

Children can be innocent and extremely cruel at the same time.

I have to say there is one great innovation with this weekend's sale: It's 3 days long and the changeover periods are 12 hours long.

Remember those March Madness deals that updated every 6 hours. If anything went wrong, by the time they were reported in the forum and the mods sent the report up the chain, there's be no chance to make a purchase in the 6 hour window.

I've been quiet in this (and all) forum lately. Well... for a while now.

Not for any real reason other than the fact that I'm constantly working on animations, simulations, tweaks, and rendering now.

I've mostly switched things up. I have bought and built tools in an attempt to get Daz Studio my new Carrara-like animation studio and it accidentally really worked!

I still use Carrara, but more like the way we used to use Daz Studio - as a plugin. I still find it to be the fastest and most beneficial way for me to create custom models. I started dabbling in Hexagon for that, since I have it and that it. too was made by Eovia/Daz 3D, but I don't really know my way around - whereas Carrara just lays everything right at our fingertips. I seem to have forgotten my UV Mapping tricks though. I used to just fly through custom UV Mapping in Carrara, but I seem to have lost a step or three in that regard. I'll get it back!

I still hound the higher-ups at Daz 3D/Tafi to dust off the old Carrara Dev specs... but... well... you know....

As I got older, however, I really found a liking to being able to buy assets and toss them into a scene and it all just works. That kind of still blows me away at how that has evolved. Scenes are lit and render ready, characters are packed full of functionality and I give them a TON more, which was my key to unlocking my favorite way to animate ever.

How exact do you want? There are various church, temple, and cathedral models - most have pitched roofs, but those can combine with vaulted interiors. Romanesque should be the right style, but using that as a forum search term is  thoroughly unhelpful. Basilica is no better.

The roofs on the wings for https://www.daz3d.com/borgias-opulent-courtyard would be the right shape, but they would need new materials (or at least some good overlays) and you'd need walls from another set.

Looking into it, but the Depth shows glass. Not the liquid itself though. 

THis is a return to a prevous post so it may need some intervention from whoever is responsibe for the forum.

I posted about this issue ages ago but depsite Richard commenting that he thought this had been sorted prior to my expriencing it it remains the same problem. Seemingly at random my view of content changes from the view as list, which is my preferred option to one of the other views. Not always but mostly when i log on having been in the view as list version, it switches and really all i want to do is set viewing my contents as a list as the default option.  Its not been rectified not have I had any help regarding the issue since Richards comment way back when I forst raised the problem. It is really frustrating

I tend to update at start-up and shutdown. The fewer the packages that are installed if an issue arises, the smaller the search area. I don't think there's any right or wrong way to do this, just whatever suits your workflow. I do agree the issue may have been fixed if I'd left it for a few days or so but there's no guarantee. With proper backups and a good working knowledge of your OS, it's not really an issue. I don't do image backups because you end up reliant on your specific issue having been sorted at some indeterminate point in the future when you inevitably have to update. I just backup key directories and accept that if the OS is broken beyond my ability to repair it then I'm doing a full reinstall which will take longer than restoring an image. Again, no right or wrong way here I think, just whatever suits.

I think this would have been far less likely to happen on Fedora. I've expanded on this further below.

There is nothing to be 'suspicious' about re. CachyOS. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Running Arch as your only OS is for really very knowledgeable people only and I don't include myself in that category. I know enough, but I'm no guru. Both myself and bluejaunte have Windows as our ultimate fallback if it all goes really pear-shaped.

If you want to run a Linux OS as your only OS you need to look at something which has proper professional, rather than community, backing. CachyOS is not that. One that is: Red Hat Enterprise Linux is used by militaries and contractors worldwide, by the National Health Service in the UK, by a load of blue-chip corpos. It's more stable and bug-free than any Windows distro. If you see the words 'stable' and 'Linux' in the same sentence though, you can mentally substitute the word 'old'. RHEL is the Z80 of operating systems. It's been around forever, it's thoroughly understood, has proper professional support, requires a subscription and you won't be playing games on it or running Studio. (You can get a free version if you sign up as a developer but, really, don't!)

Downstream from that is Fedora - same code, newer packages with rigorous testing. It's not as straightofrward to install and setup as something like Linux Mint or Ubuntu (both recommended for new folks), but it is more reliable.

That's what I would recommend to you and most people. Debian is fine but it's another community effort. There is a minimalist install of Fedora (although your definition of 'bloat' is peculiar to you - most of us would describe it as software we don't want which impacts system performance *which we can't uninstall*. Windows Edge. Windows telemetry. That's bloat. Not a software package you can remove in a few seconds and doesn't magically reinstall itself after an update) but I suspect you will do your own thing as usual :)

Also, once again, the ROCm stack will not provide dForce in Studio with your GPU. You'll need elements of it for Studio to see the card but beyond that, no. Re-read the conversations!

In theory you can. For example, if you type the following (including quotes) into the smart content search bar then it should filter only G2F assets: "key::genesis 2 female"

For me that works (mostly) for figures but is spotty for other items. Although, I think my Smart Content is a little messed up some how.
