  • Trouble with Morph

With Victoria 4 there should usually be soem subcompoenents as the morphs are on the bones - I had to add those to favourites before the command would work. It may be that when a morph is loaded in DS (I was using one of the stock morphs as a test) that isn't quite what happens and the whole thing ends up betwixt and between. The other thing you could try is using the Geometry Editor to create a Selection Set, then in Morph Loader Pro load the OBJ use the Attenuate By settings.

  • Fixing a dress on seated figure

If a dynamics option isn't available, you could export as an object, then make a custom morph in Blender (or use the bridge for Hexagon); you could also correct in in Blender then reimport the dress object itself and just copy across the shader/textures.

  • I cannot fix the PBM Breasts Cleavage with custom morph

When I import morphs, G3F has no morph (all setted to 0%). And unfortunately, clearing generated morphs doesn't help here...

Also I'm wondering: when I use the Transfer Utility to my clothes, where can I see all the morphs generated?

And I even looked at some products that support this morph, and it works fine on them.

    edit:

Finally I succeed to create the morph :)

First I thought it was because I worked on my iMac, then I tried on my PC. I created the top figure from scratch by importing the OBJ file, then Transfer Utility and Morph Loader. The morph I imported (Breasts Size) didn't work this time. I checked again the settings several times and it didn't work either.

Then I tried to delete the morph from the Parameters (edit mode enabled) and then the morph actually disapeared (G3F breasts grows but not the top). So I imported the morph again via Morph Loader, with BS morph active on G3F this time and  the morph on the top applied immediately.

So I did the same for the Breasts Cleavage, and this time it works.

Thank you Richard for your help :)

  • I cannot fix the PBM Breasts Cleavage with custom morph

Had you applied the cleavage morph to the base figure before loading the morph in the clothes? If so, zero it, select the clothing, and then go to Edit>Figure>Clear Generated Morphs before you load your custom morph (I'm not sure this is needed, but auto-generated morphs have caused confusion for me in the past so it's worth trying).

"Many heavy morphs do not take the human figure into consideration and just make the character look like they are really bloated, "

That depends greatly on who made the  "Heavy"morphs
and the end users understanding of proportional/vertical symmetry when applying them.
Personally I dont understand why people need a vendor to provide them with a premade "non idealized" character with the multitude of morph options available for users to make their own ...... but thats just me.

Here is "Contessa"( if you like) for the G2 female
Made just by moving sliders  in Daz studio.

Well, personally I don't understand why people need a vendor to provide them with a premade "idealized" character with the multitude of morph options available and the 100's upon 100's of already created idealized characters.

    See how that works?

People who only use idealized shapes (or close to idealized with slight mods) who say "well anyone who wants anything different can just make it themselves" is just being silly and frankly a bit selfish - "I have MY wants met, I don't get what the big deal is". That's like a vegetarian saying "Well I don't mind that there aren't more meat options. Look at all these vegetables! And anyone who wants meat, look, you can make perfectly good tofu-burgers that look like meat and if you spice it right it tastes a bit like meat too."

That's like saying "well I have the ideal figures I want, everyone else can just spend their own time creating the types of characters they want". It shouldn't be an either or. There is room for diversity in the characters that are created. The people who only like the idealized shapes and sizes, do they buy all of them that come out? Absolutely not. A lot of them are being passed over simply because the market is flooded with them. If more diverse characters where created, that doesn't take away from people who like idealized shapes and sizes, since NO ONE buys all of the idealized shapes that get released. There is room for more diversity in the characters that get released and trying to tell people who want that diversity to "just make your own" isn't helpful.

    Well said.

  • I cannot fix the PBM Breasts Cleavage with custom morph

    Hello,

I'm learning DAZ Studio to create clothes and I'm facing a problem: fixing the breasts cleavage morph of my cloth for G3F doesn't work.

I follow some tutorials and here's what I do:

    - load G3F

    - import the top at OBJ file

    - Transfer Utility: G3F to my top (called Fitness Top)

    - then I fit my Fitness Top to G3F with parenting

    - now I use Morph Loader Pro to import the fix for PBMBreastsCleavage, with Reverse Deformation: YES and Overwrite Existing: Deltas and ERC links.

    - result: the PBMBreastCleavage morph is still the original one...

I verified several times, my OBJ file has been exported from Blender correctly, with the correct name (PBMBreastsCleavage). Also, I imported several other morphs, which works correctly with the method I use. That's why I don't understand what's wrong here.

Thanks in advance if you can help me :)

  • Planet Explorer for G2 texture failure and render issues (DAZ not interested)(solved)

    Dartanbeck

Your first option is a good idea but I have tried several variations of that process already.  I even stripped the textures out in DAZ studio saved it as a new item then to loaded the modified suit in Carrara.

To me there are two problems here the texture screw up and the long render times once the suit is conformed. I suspect both are linked to the way the suit auto hides the G2 character parts hence my request to DAZ (still no reply on that yet)  Your second option is likely to yeild the fix, I started to do this in poser using the obj file and attaching the G2 bone structure using the setup room function but the DUF importer crashes if you use it in the setup room, "Humm wonder why that is ! " . So I'll take a look a "Morph loader"

    Thanks

  • Several Aiko 7 product related questions and proper subforum for asking about products

#1 - You will only get the Character morph (that changes the shape of Genesis 3 Female to Aiko 7) and the Materials (skin textures, bump maps, etc.).

#2 - Get Shapeshift - it is majestic when it comes to shaping the body. You get a ridiculous number of shaping options with it - worth the price, trust me.

#3 - Yes, all Genesis 3 Female items will work with Aiko 7. This one should work fine too.

#4 - We have to wait for a mod to answer this one. :x

  • Genesis 3 Cross-Figure Resource Kit

No, it's it's sort of like UV Swap for Genesis 3 allows you to trade textures between male & female Genesis 3 characters the Genesis 3 Cross Figure Resource Kit allows Genesis 3 Male & Female characters to wear each other's clothing. I have it it works fine. I used it so Genesis 3 Female can wear Genesis 3 male's sports clothing and for that Trojan or Greek kilt or skirt or whatever they calls those things in those days. Cross-Figure or not, even Genesis 3 Female has a bit of trouble fitting into some of her clothing but I did try the grey stretch sweat pants that are part of the Dark Storm Outfit on Guy 7 and they fit fine.

I think you are mixing this product up with the UV swapper by Slosh. The Genesis 3 Cross Figure Resource Kit provides no cross figure UV support, but as others have said, is used to add support for the other gender, for a clothing item intended for the opposite gender. As such it is similar to autofit, but in some circumstances does a better job (and sometimes does a worse job) than autofit alone. I got this product cheap last December, but for what it does it is only really worth getting when offered at a deep discount. The Genesis 2 version was better, as that allowed the transfer of geografts between the genders.

No, I said Slosh's UV products is for textures and the Cross Figure Resource Kit similarly is for clothing. Maybe my wording was awkward but thanks though.

  • Planet Explorer for G2 texture failure and render issues (DAZ not interested)(solved)

    Okay... let's try this:

Don't use the version that you've saved after the Auto-conform.

Open your G2 figure in Carrara

I usually also perform Edit > Remove Unused Masters > Consolidate Duplicate Shaders immediately after loading each item into Carrara, just to keep my resources (RAM) clean and efficient. If I find that I need another shader for something, I just duplicate one and build it from there.

From the browser, Load into the scene the suit - straight from the library - drag it onto Scene at the top of the instances tray in Carrara. In other words, don't load it onto the G2 figure causing an Auto-Conform.

Now select the suit and Fit To: select your G2 figure and let it conform.

    ==============================================================

Not sure if that will help, but if Auto-Conform in DS causes a script to fire that doesn't work properly in Carrara, that's the first thing I'd try to avoid. So this brings up another option which would save an artist whom doesn't have/use Carrara to try and make a compatible file:

So, if the above doesn't work, try this:

Find the product's Data folder in the installation hierarchy (example: Users > My DAZ 3D Library > data > (usually the artist's store name) > (product name) and load the OBJ file of the product into Daz Studio. Optional method: Export the suit as an OBJ from Carrara without any morph dials changed from default.

Now use Morph Loader Pro to turn this OBJ into a conforming clothing item onto the base G2 figure.

When that's done, save it with a unique name as a support asset into the Daz Studio Library

    ==================================================================

Those special auto-conform option were a special piece of extra work by the author to make things easier on the average DS user. What we need to do is to bypass that and remove visiblity of those G2 body parts right inside Carrara.

I don't have this item, but I'm happy to help you through all of this, if I can ;)

P.S. It took a  l o n g  time for me to type this, since I would type some... get called away. Type some more... away again... it's maddening!!! LOL

  • Genesis 3 Cross-Figure Resource Kit

It can also be used as a morph to feminise G3M or masculinise G3F.

For example turning Valandars new Cave Ogre into an Ogre Cavewife.

    Feminising G3M? That's redundant!

  • Several Aiko 7 product related questions and proper subforum for asking about products

    Hi,

I had a few questions related to products on the Daz store

    #1  http://www.daz3d.com/aiko-7

I was interested in this one but i wanted to know if the green swimsuit (lingerie?) and blue and black sleeveless dress were included? or were they just used to showcase poses.  I looked at the 'whats included' list for Aiko 7 but i saw no mention of the clothes.

    #2 https://www.daz3d.com/shape-shift-for-genesis-3-female-s

I wanted to get Shape Shift as well  BUT i already have Female Body Morphs

    http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-female-body-morphs

Does the Shape Shift have better control over all features from the sternum down to the knees?  i'm not quite happy with the female body morph product because it isnt able to make the sides of the butt as round as i would like it and the legs 3-4 inches directly above the kneecaps i cant get it to look right on a character with muscular thighs.

    #3 https://www.daz3d.com/hy-updo-hair-for-genesis-3-female-s

That product is for G3F and Aiko 7 is a modified G3F right? i see it listed on the Aiko 7 description that compatible figures is G3F.  But i wanted to be absolutely sure that the hair will morph to her head properly.

#4 last one.  Is there a more appropriate subforum that i could have posted my other 3 questions in? I was not sure if it belonged in product suggestions which looked like it was just for feedback or if i should have put it in the commons.  Since i'm still fairly new i thought that i would just post it here.

  • Supersuit G3M stuff

The main reason I like this is that finally we get the option in material zones to do BOTH the classic 'trunks over tights' (aka 'underwear on the outside') AND the short-pants. It's the number-one thing that stopped me from buying the No-Suit Morph.

The Guardian suit though is missing the option for side panels, creating a wide stripe down the sides of the body/legs.

The mask shapes are good, but I'd also like a narrow classic domino mask zone

and the classic 'Halloween Mask' domino mask + nose.

  • Two Directories Issues

I would suggest uninstalling the morph and base figure sets that are in the My Library folder and using DIM to install those products to the My Daz 3D Library. It's only ExP expansion packs you need worry about, characters using standard morphs and thing slike clothing can safely be left alone.

  • Appropriate child skins for growing up morph use?

Unlike K4 which had lots of skins, I'm finding that using G3M skins on the growing up morph shapes doesn't work the same, and since the G3 figures are the 'be all end all' for human shapes, I need a skin which isn't for an adult.  A child with razor stubble just doesn't quite cut it.  Aren't there any 'child like' skin textures for G3M that would be appropriate to use for a kid?  Remember K4 had rosy cheeks, slightly pink lips, soft looking skin, bright shiny eyes?  I don't have any of that for the Genesis 3 figures.  And all I see in the store is a MR for skins for the growing up morphs.  Is that all we have as an option are these MR??  One is a bundle, but it comes with adult skins too which I'm not interested in.  Thanks.

  • Trouble with Morph

Are you sure that the morph you have favourited is directly causing the changes to the feet (not through a different morph that it is driving)?

Hmmm. I don't know. The feet move up and down when I apply the face morph I made. The only other morphs that are applied are the v4 base morphs and ++ morphs,
