And I think Virtual World uses the Unique Smiles a lot too to get that smile - Margot and this character look almost identical in the face with the same smile

Where are the directions for manual offline install?

Thank you for the reply. The Vertigo Ponytail comes with a specialized shader that I can't apply to other hairs. My hunch is confirmed. I'll make do with the default hair shaders. Sigh.

Question- when I add a Victoria 8 to my scenes, she arrives without functional ear bones or face rigs, but if I add Genesis 8 female, she has 'em. Then I can impose the Victoria 8 character and have her correctly rigged. That doesn't happen with Michael 8. Is that how it works for other customers?

Victoria 8 is really G8F?

As far as clothing is concerned, Victoria 4 is **NOT** the same as plain Genesis. Victoria 4 was the generation before Genesis. For every figure after Genesis itself, you would need to purchase clothing converters/clones to allow them to have clones that let autofit work and give you an option for "Victoria 4" in "fit to".

Speaking only of the Victorias and their clothing, here's how the generations work:

Victoria 4 = Victoria 4
Victoria 5 = Genesis 1 (aka, just plain Genesis)
Victoria 6 = Genesis 2 Female
Victoria 7 = Genesis 3 Female
Victoria 8 = Genesis 8 Female (the number jump was to prevent confusion with Victoria 4/Michael 4, among other things).

Converting G1 Female UV to G3M

Since you have it, I would first recommend that you put it on Genesis to see what the UV actually is. There wasn't a single Genesis UV, there were several.

In general, the base female UV for Genesis 1 was identical to Victoria 4 UV by design. However, Catgirl says it's based on Hitomi shape, which may or may not mean that she uses Hitomi UV (if there was one) or that she has her own UV, which several unique characters did.

Assuming that she does use Victoria 4 UV, there are a couple of approaches.

For the first, you would need to use Map Transfer and a Legacy UV product. The Legacy UV product uses geografts to get around how the remap moved things. You'd need to do a full map transfer first to switch it to the default male UV for Genesis 1, which would be the Michael 4 UV. Map Transfer is part of Studio itself, so that first step is something you can do without buying anything; I *think* there may be a tutorial on that in the forum. Once you did that, you'd need to put the textures onto Genesis in the proper place, and save the result as a materials preset. Approach 2: If Catgirl Genesis does use the Victoria 4 UV, you can also use the Texture Transformer 2 product from Renderosity, along with the V4-G3F addon; if you get them when they're at full price, the combination runs close to $80. The advantage is that at the end of the process, you would have the texture fully remapped to Genesis 3 Female. At that point, you'd need one additional product from here: https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-uv-swap-male-and-female-base would let you use a G3F texture on a male without doing another map transfer.

Unfortunately, there's no simple way to get from where you start to where you want end up, and if Catgirl has her own UV or the Hitomi UV, it may be so difficult that it can't easily be done at all.

Victoria 8 is really G8F?

Genesis is the fifth generation of Daz figures. Prior to Genesis, Victoria and Michael were the base figures, but with Genesis and onward, the Genesis figure is the base for that generation. Thus, V8 is a character add-on to Genesis 8 Female.

Example Victoria 4 is the same as plain Genesis? I was wanting to know because I have a bunch of old clothing and I need to know what to pick when you

Michael 4 / Victoria 4 to Genesis 8 Converter

Is there a program that can convert an alternate M4/V4 character model skin texture or however you call it to a Genesis 8 model?

I've just got some converts which change from G2 to G8 models and another from G3 to G8. Do converters apply to body morphs as well (not sure if that's included as part of the conversation)? What about hair and clothing?

If not are there any current programs you can recommend for baby steps between programs perhaps? For example M4 to genesis. then to G2 or G3 to G8?

Oh, right. Spaceship hallways, definitely. Do you think the spaceship hallways connect to the sewers?

Or maybe if Michael and Victoria do well in school, they get to go to space, whereas if they drop out of school -- probably because their bus never came and they spent all day waiting at the bus stop -- then they end up in the sewers.

As Oscar Wilde once put it, we are all in the gutter sewer, but some of us are looking at the stars spaceship hallway.

Most likely not, since the morphs don't include such specificity themselves. If you need that granularity in your morphs, you may want to look into Shape Splitter.
