  • *How to Put a Morph (ERC) Dial on a Pose*

I've never even thought of that idea, but wow, wouldn't that be awesome if it were possible??

I think this will be a trend as ERC dials are something that the community wants by-and-large. I personally wonder if it's possible to do ERC dials with poses...

I mean, it should be possible, especially if a pose was loaded as a 'morph', right?

He reminds me most of Hiro 3 Realistic.. which is just dandy.  =)

Hiro 3 realistic?  Didn't realize there was a realistic morph for Hiro3, had to go look but couldn't find anything that seemed to show him in the store.  Just saw that Hiro 4 has a realistic morph in the list on the product page, though I don't know if I've ever seen a pic showing what it was like.  Don't know if Hiro 5 might have a realistic morph either but didn't see one listed.  Was there ever a Hiro 6?

Edit:  Found a product that looks like it shows Hiro 4 realistic version:  http://www.daz3d.com/hiro-4-realistic-textures

Hiro 5 was designed for Hitomi rather than Aiko. He doesn't have any other full body morphs (that I've noticed anyway) but does have a few additional face adjustments the same as Hitomi does.

Well I got off the fence and made my first ever Genesis3 purchase, picking up the Kenji starter bundle.  I also picked up the Gen X2 latest plugins for Genesis3, but I must be doing something wrong, since I keep trying to transfer the shape to Genesis1 but the only thing that seems to actually transfer is the belly button.  I've been studying the documentation for GenX2 but not sure where I'm going wrong (I already had GenX2 and the plugin for Genesis2, so I should have all I need in the tool to make this work),  I'll keep tinkering, and may end up having to post a query for help on the GenX2 thread.  But I'm stoked to have Kenji in my possession, even if I haven't quite figured how to get him onto my Genesis1 yet.

Congratulations on the move to G3! I think you'll be happy. I've enjoyed the small out of G3 content I have and definitely see myself moving forward with using more and more G3 content. I've been insanely happy with Victoria 7 and hope to get some of the G3F and G3M morphs as soon as they go on sale (assuming I have the money at the time lol). :)

As for the GenX2, from what I've read about the product, in order to go to G3 you need all three of these products:

    http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2

    http://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-2

    http://www.daz3d.com/genx2-addon-for-genesis-3

Sadly I can't afford to go that route unless these go on a deep deep sale some day.

Problem is me and Jon work in Carrara that is not able to use G3 yet.

Indeed  :)  But not really so much of a problem though since til Kenji I wasn't very keen on G3.  But I do really like Kenji quite a bit, he became 'must have'.  We'll see how he looks in Carrara Octane, if I can just get the base shape to transfer.

I do have all three of those gen X2 products/addons, so I should have everything I need.  And I can easily put Sasori (a Kenji character morph) onto my Genesis1, ironically, but haven't yet been able how to put the base Kenji7 shape on my Gen1 yet.  I'm surely doing something knuckleheaded...

  • Fitting clothes with Transfer Utility

Couldn't you export/import the clothing as obj

    load genesis/gensesis2

scale/morph/dform genesis/genesis2 so they fit in the clothes as they should

run transfer utility selecting genesis/genesis2 as the source with current as it's option

select the clothing obj as the target with default as it's option

open the advanced options and select the reverse morph option

    Let run

You should now have the Star outfit fitting to genesis/genesis2

    *edit*

you may need to convert the clothing obj to figure (edit -> object -> rigging -> convert prop to figure) before selecting it in the transfer utility

  • Creating morph dials for character distribution

I've found some tutorials on this, but the information is either outdated or missing something. I need to create dials (full body;head;body) for my character.

    Here is my method:

I load up my character with her shape preset. I set resolution to base, sub to 0.

I export the morph as obj

I zero my character out. Load the morph, dial up the morph to 100. Adjust joint rigging.

I open edit mode, create new property for the morph. I choose the actor/people/real world path

I go to actor/people/real world and find my morph. Dial it up to 100. Nothing happens. Fine, I ERC Freeze.

I close edit mode. I zero out the character. I save the morph as an asset. I save it to where I keep all my character stuff, in My Library.

I copy and paste the data folder from My Library to My Daz 3D Library.

I open up Daz, load G3F, find my morph, dial it up and nothing happens.

Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

  • How do I make a full body morph and save it?

    Probably a stupid question, but...

Trying to use Gen X2 to put the Kenji7 shape onto Genesis1.  The problem is there isn't really a shaping morph for Kenji 7 that I can find, instead there's a parameter inside of G3M to dial up or down Kenji7, and I think I need to save that out as a shapinp morph in the menu so that I have something to put into GenX2 as the 'shaping pose'.  Ironically I can already use GenX2 to save Satori (a character morph of Kenji) onto Genesis1 with no trouble, simply because in the character folder tor Satori there is both a head and body shaping morph preset.  But nothing like that seems to exist for the standard Kenji7, so I'm wondering if there is a way for me to save it/create it myself.

  • *How to Put a Morph (ERC) Dial on a Pose*

I think it's Enhanced Remote Control, and it gives the user a slider so that gradations of the expression can be attained (like a morph dial). This way many expressions can be combined with each other to get subtle nuances rather than being stuck with the usually over-the-top expression you get from one-click.

    Thanks.

  • *How to Put a Morph (ERC) Dial on a Pose*

    This is good news!

I have lots of useless expressions that either change the base morph, or apply so much of the morph that the character looks like a freak.

These dials can make the difference between a useful product and a waste of cash.

I hope this is a new trend!

  • Using GenX - How do I just transfer just a Head morph from M4 To Gen 3 Male?

I can't figure out how to get just the head morph and not the body.

The .PDF really does not fully explain what to do with the morph check boxes, or how to extract specific targetted morphs.

I am really baffled on how to transfer any Freak 4 or Girl 4 morphs, or how to use this tool with private parts.

This product really needs some decent, indepth, tutorials. I know it can be useful, but the order of operations is not intuitive.

Can anyone direct me to any useful tutorials, that could give me a clue on how to use GenX, for doing individual body part transfers, and not the typical, single, full character morph?

    Thanks!

Thread previously entitled "ironman13 Includes ERC Dials in New Expression Set"

That's right. The most prolific expression (OK, most prolific anything) artist included ERC dials on her latest expression set. Joining the ranks of Diane (who has been doing so for a long time) and Zeddicuss (who converted this year), ironman13 has given the user built-in flexibility with her expressions. You can always make your own, but it's a hassle. Here's hoping this is a new policy of hers and not just a one-off.

  • GenX2 Update / Genesis 3 Add-On [Commercial]

Hi, I have a (probably pretty stupid) question.  I'm trying to put take Kenji 7's shape and put it on Genesis1, but I'm running into difficulty.

Ironically I can put Sasori (a character morph for Kenji7) onto Genesis1 with very little problem, because there are poses for the shape in the Sasori character folder.  But since I can't seem to find any pose files for Kenji (except in the parameters within G3M itself) I can't seem to find any way to figure out how to transfer the Kenji shape.  The most I seem to get is that I when I max out the kenji 7 parameter dial on my Genesis1, that a belly button appears, not much else (I tried simply dragging and dropping the Kenji7 base character into the pose channel in Gen X2, which is probably not the way to do it).

Is there some way I can pull up a G3M, dial in the Kenji 7 shape, and save it as a pose file that I can then use in Gen X2 to transport into Genesis1?

I am interested in the Chase for G3M character but the store page says 3 other products are required, none of which I currently own.  Are these other 3 products really required?

Yes, you need all these 3 morph products to have Chase work correctly.
    Cheers

  • GenX2 Update / Genesis 3 Add-On [Commercial]

marktresidder_546a885e49: Open the DSF file for the morph in a text editor (you may need to uncompress it first) and look for the keyword "presentation". There should be a line "type" next, which has to be followed by "Modifier/Shape" to declare the dial as a morph.

Citizen217: The actual installers should be available both in DIM and under "product library" in your DAZ account.

Butch: The tutorial you linked to is about the transfer utility, not about GenX. When you transfer a morph with GenX, it is listed in the "Shape" tab for the figure automatically, no need to apply it.

  • Newbie trying to make custom Morphs

    Hello All,

Please Bear with me..im using gen3female little ones as a base for a character i wanna make...Id like to make the morphs in 3dsmax or mudbox...i Managed to do that and reimported using morph loader pro..but I thought that i could still use the Original Morphing Dial from Gen3 to make this character talk for example...obviously this has not worked at all :(:(..if you see i dialled "F" viseme but the lip goes berserk... Obvsiouly I didnt import correctly the Morph created in 3dsmax..i mean if i just want to CHANGE the overall shape its fine..it works..but i cant use daz visemes or any other morph to further tweak it shape...

What's the right workflow to make a Custom Morph and have that New Morph work correctly with existing ones? see file attached
