G3F to G3M texture conversion
I am trying this as an exercise and DAZ Studio 4.9.2.70 is crashing with out of memory I think. Even though the total amount of memory DAZ Studio uses eventually decreases the total percentage of memory in use by the OS increases untill it hit the high enough percentage that DAZ Studio crashes.
I only have 2 Genesis Males in the scene. Source & Target and I do the Transfer after I load the Slosh UV Swap to the Source and apply the Genesis 3 Female texture set I want transferred to the Target, the Genesis 3 Male texture set. I select Surfaces which is by default unselected and unselect Morphs which by default is selected. I have tried selecting by 'none' and 'Full-Body' as the projection set template.
Is this 'Transfer Utility' one of those utilities that need more than 16GB RAM? What is not correct?
All I want to really do is transfer a G3F texture set on a G3M (UV Swap to use the G3F UV Set) Source to a G3M (Base UV Set) so that I can set as a G3M Material Preset and skip the UV Swap step.

JeanZ is a great product and I'm glad I can use them in 4.8!
By the way, when I mentioned I had JeanZ for G2, I meant your JeanZ Skirt product. If you ever decide to make a G3 version of that, I'm sure I'll pick it up too.
Glad it is working for you! The JeanZ skirt is probably the most asked for conversion behind the JeanZ followed by the TreadZ. However, don't want to be seen as someone who only converts their old products. So my plan now is to alternate releases between brand new product and conversions of old. The trouble is I have about a dozen unfinished products on my harddrive, one I started with V4! Maybe some day I will finish them but I keep coming up with new ideas. Just not enough time!
I have a surprise in store for my next release that I don't think people have seen before, it will be very cool. I will probably do the JeanZ skirt after that, but not sure yet.
and here they are after running them through the transfer tool as you have shown. Cool, thanks for that. The main reason I need these JeanZ are the Daisy Dukes and The Bell Bottoms for long pants and now I have to look how I can transfer my old selfmade texures from the V4 version to this new version for G3F but I think that will not make much work.
Cool render! Happy you are able to use them. Hopefully we will see more renders of the JeanZ.
I did make some changes in the UV's, however I did include the originals as an option in case that works better for you.
Cheers!
Well, I will do some more and some better for sure, this was a fast made render without any backround or action, just to see how the JeanZ work :)
Fixing V4 clothing fits on Genesis 3 femaleThis the "Kay's Bodysuit" by Rhiannon, made for Vicki4. I autofitted it on Genesis 3 female. I gave her the V4 body shape, but also using some of the G3F 'voluptuous' morph. Whenever the legs move out of default, I get this exploding of the under hip area. I thought it was just parts were beneath G3F's skin, so I tried pulling it down with a D-former... but I discovered the bodice mesh is actually 'ripping' like that. Is there a setting on the bodice or G3F I can dial in to fix this 'ripping' ?
Thanks in advance!
Warning: New Purchases May Not Work With DAZ Studio 4.8You can always post a question to the forums to see if somebody else has tried the product in whatever version of DS you are running, then you'll know if it works or not. Alternatively you can purchase, try, refund-if-broken for specific items. I've seen a number of comments indicating whether an item does/doesn't work, people are pretty helpful about doing that.
Well TheJeanZ work now in DS4.8 after running it through the transfer tool like The3DWizzard has shown it in the "JeanZ" threat.
Very good customer support BTW.Excellent news.

Is this legal to do with a Product?Cookie is a figure, And she has loads of clothes in the Daz Store. http://www.daz3d.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Cookie There are also quite a lot of freebie clothes for both her and her male counterpart Chip. I really am not quite certain why you say she is not a figure, or why you would have difficulty making clothes for her.
I usually use Transfer Utility to create clothes for Figures. When I loaded Cookie, she loads as a .cr2 file. Because of that, she can be posed and you can use the Clothes from the DAZ Store, however Transfer Utility cannot choose the model as a Source.
The weight map brush also gives an error, saying it must select a figure that has Weight maps.
EDIT:
Ah, I see. Thank you Richard.
All Poser figures load as CR2s

JeanZ for Genesis 3 [Commercial]Those having issues in 4.8 and looking to keep using the JeanZ I did find a temporary workaround.
You can update the hierarchies/weight maps using the Transfer Tool. The weight maps in the groin area will be off, but it will be useable until I can get the installer updated.
where can I find this transfer tool?
Ahh, it is a little hidden. This image should help. If you have any issues just let me know.
Hey that works, great thing, thanks for the information
now the jeanz work in DS4.8JeanZ for Genesis 3 [Commercial]Now DS4.8 crashes when trying to load the JeanZ into the scene, wanted to try the thing with the transfer utility but when loading the JeanZ into the scene to try it it crashes. UPDATE: forgot to select g3f. If just loading the pants without selecting the figure before DS4.8 crashes.
RULERS OF EGYPT wont run Victoria and Michael baseI attempted to place clothing for Rulers of Egypt and its add-ons, but they do not fit. So I took another look at the promotion page, and noticed the Rulers of Egypt is compatible with victoria and michael 1 and 2.
...I have Victoria 4.2 and V3 and M3 and M4
I searched for 1 and 2, but failed to locate them online.
I want to use the Rulers of Egypt packages, how to I get them fitting a character? Is there a 1 and 2 base for V and M?
...a morph that wil work? I haven't located V1 or V2 (m1 or M2) yet.
SimTenero Randomizer Characters Showcase Thread Everyone WelcomeAlright, so this is kind of silly, but I thought I would share. I wanted to do bubbles in my last render for the New User contest last month. I was going to make my own bubbles in Blender because I found it's meta ball thing, but discovered it was resource intensive the way I was using it. Chohole says that Bryce will do meta balls, but I haven't had a chance to check that out. I ran out of time so I ended up using what I had available in a purchased product. There are 3 in the store that I know of, but I only had one of them. I had 3D Bubbles, for V4 and K4, which are bubbles which come with a few morphs. I couldn't really get the looks that I wanted for the bubbles, though, when I was combining the different morphs by myself so I used the randomizer on them. I started out with the settings to zero out before each morph and to use limits which basically got me the same type of nondescript bubbles that I was making on my own. I tried having Randomizer set to NOT zero anything before each morph so it would kind of build up different shapes. I also turned off limits. That helped some and I did get some interesting shapes.
I will still have to figure out how to make my own bubbles so they actually look like bubbles with all the really cool, crazy shapes that they can get depending on the wind. But, until then, using the Randomizer really saved the day with bubbles for my contest entry. Since I don't usually load those images to my gallery until after the judging, just a personal preference, I made an image which has the 25 different bubble shapes that I made with the Randomizer.
SimTenero Shape Reprojector [Commercial]I haven't gotten that error but what I am getting really annoyed about is that, while the sim is running, Daz's load on my processor is about 15%. I don't know if it's a limitation of the script or Studio's fault, but knowing that I could get the results in a sixth of the time is really grating on my nerves.
Regarding a tutorial, here's the Readme http://docs.daz3d.com/lib/exe/fetch.php/public/read_me/index/33193/33193_shapereprojectorguide.pdf
That said, I would love if people who have had success with the Reprojector would post their own tutorials. The Readme is barely intelligible to a non-techie like me and omits a few questions (what does the sim do if both "in" and "out" are checked? why can't I uncheck "incremental"?). As it is, I have been experimenting but I cannot get consistent results, so empiricism is out. I love the concept of this product and I am sure other users will get outstanding results, but so far it's been really confusing and not that useful. I hope to learn enough to change that.
Has anyone else been getting the error "Wrapper CalculateOverlap Error: Error: cannot access member `getNumFacets' of deleted QObject"? Seems to happen when the target figure has a geo-graft in place.
I got that problem too, but was unable to find my log to share it hehehe, my solution was to save the figure I was having conflicts, saved it as a character , loaded into the scene, reproject on it save it out again as character and then load it right into the original character and to transfer the morphs i needed, i alreadi made 300 scenes, was my only solution hahahaha
Who said Blender was hard?Hmm Gedd, I wonder if you've noticed this; when creating morphs in Blender, even with all aspects zeroed before exporting from Daz, I'm getting slight movement on the morph everywhere on G3F.
I tested on a figure I didn't alter in Blender; I imported it, then immediately exported. I get the same.
It's something you aren't noticing with G2 or earlier I take it?
I haven't played with morphs recently and not at all with G3. I'll try and test it later. Hmm, wonder what I did the morphs in my sig with?
Not actually tried it for many months until recently; I'm wondering if I've forgotten something when importing and exporting. The morphs work fine it's just the slight adjustment to all parts of the mesh that doesn't make sense; especially as I tested it by just importing and exporting without changing.
Another free face for M4 /Amiroh??
it's a no ++ morph only for m4. pm me if there's an issue with the file please so i can correct it
Oh ok I will try it again and see if it works for me tonight as I need to make a new charactor for my newbie challenge render anyway :D

Arki, You ROCK!!! Welcome All from RDNA!!!BTW, for the women clown/mime and clown/mime textures that I also purchased this morph has one of the most beautiful V4 bodies I have seen:

You can't see the original nude promo images here but if you use archive.org you can find the Runtime DNA product page with the nude images.
