V4 Hair transfer via Transfer Utility.... or i want my morphs back.
I just tried it with V4 Janna Hair, which shows up as a figure in the Scene tab.
Converted the hair to TriAx weightmapping.
Edit>Figure>Transfer Utility.
Source: Genesis3Female
Chose Clone:Victoria4
ProjectionTemplate: Hair/shoulder length
Weight Maps: Merge Heirarchies on
Morph Targets: Override Existing off
Reverse Source Shape From Target on
Target: Janna Hair
Accept.
I'm now seeing and operating all of the original morphs in Janna Hair's parameters under 'Other'.
If the hair initially loads as a prop in the Scene tab then the above doesn't seem to work.
V4 Hair transfer via Transfer Utility.... or i want my morphs back.AutoFit does not destroy morphs, but ti will remove custom bones (which may be driven by paramaters on the hair figure of the neck or head bone, so it will look as if they are morphs).
To use a hair without losing bones, parent it but don't fit it, then position and scale it so that it fits to or just clips inside the wearer's head. Once you have that, apply a smoothing modifier and set the collision target to the figure wearing the hair - that will cause the areas that just clipped inside the head to pop out. If that doesn't work then it probably will be necessary to create a custom fit in a modelling application and either apply it as a morph to the parented hair or simply rig it,. including any desired custom bones, to the target figure.
V4 Hair transfer via Transfer Utility.... or i want my morphs back.Sounds like you might have to start from scratch. In the Transfer Utility under Weights, does switching on 'Merge Heirarchies' help preserve the morphs? And if you have the V4 clone in the Transfer Utility, try that. Also, here are some useful tips for fitting V4 hair props to G3.
I`m loosing morps on stage converting hair figure to prop. It`s not Transfer Utility problem at all. All i need to know, how to transfer conforming hair without "prop" stage, or how to transfer morps back to my new figure.
Duplicate formula message after creating a morphWARNING: fileinput\dzassetdaz.cpp(5486): Duplicate formula found linking xEnd & Value in /data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%202/Female/Morphs/D3D%20Gen%20X/Genesis%203%20Female/JarethAllG3F-10-14-2016.dsf.
Hi, I just created a single morph from many and moved it from G3F to G2F with GenX2. Now, whenever I load G2F, I'm getting a duplicate formula popup and information like the above in the log file. Any insight into what's going on and how I can fix it?

V4 Hair transfer via Transfer Utility.... or i want my morphs back.I want to transfer my favorite V4 hair to G3 via Transfer Utility. Why not an autofit? Autofit totally destroys hair shape and even 20 smoothing modifer can`t help it out. So what i did:
Loaded G3 and V4 hair
Positioned hair at right place on head
Converted hair to a prop
Runs a Tranfer Utility (Shoulder hair preset)
And voila! Everything is fine (except curls on chest, which fall through the skin after a head/neck bends, but it`s not so important) and... hey, where is all hair morphs? Ohh, i lost it after i converted hair to a prop.... and i want it back and i have no idea how to get it back. Help needed. )=
Renaissance MaleI suspect that part of the issue is that those are quite hard to do - getting puffed sleeves in particular to work is a pain by all accounts (in fact, if you have some of the few items that do exist you will often find that they are made un-puffed and then the puff is a morph that is locked to one). There is Will Durpre's old Romeo set for Michael 3 http://www.daz3d.com/romeo
Glute Control for Genesis 3 (Commercial)I think anyway, that G3figures' shoulders look small. I usuall use the shoulder width morph up to 30%. You won't hardley see it in T-stance, but with the arms down it looks much better. Not shure, but it might help with the armsChest intersection problem too. Never took a close look at it. ;-)
Some More Content Creating QuestionsIf you have a program such as Zbrush, you could take the trousers into that program and use a smooth brush to reduce the ripples. It is more work to return the waist band to normal, but quite possible. However, since you can only morph one object at a time it tends to be an iterative process of morphing in Zbrush and going back to DS to check the results.
If DAZ Studio had mesh brushes (either built in or via a plugin) then the process would be much easier as you could see the effects of any changes you made in real time.
Poser does have mesh brushes built into the program. So you might try to import the figure and clothing into Poser, make the necessary correction morph with the Poser mesh brushes and then export both figure and clothing back to DS. I have not tried this process and don't know how easy it would be. Perhaps you would need to export the changes you made in Poser as morphs and load those into DS using Morph Loader pro.
Good luck.
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 7Well, this is your fault DG- I just bought a couple more Tesla products lol. I wasn't sure if the store was going off of featured, and the sets are rendering nicely. So they owe you!
Just a thought too- when you mentioned the couch and pillows, the one that I've showcased which comes to mind as ultra nice was the Millionaire Private Office set. The pillows morph easy, are big, and the couch is roomy. Has chairs too, and LOTS of props to use in your promos. Anything Polish is awesome.
I agree, listing more information regarding material zones would really be awesome in promos. I did pick up your product that I mentioned and will be playing around with that shortly.

I think the DIM speed has picked up, I hope things have been ironed out. This has been a miserable experience for the vendors and shoppers. Am posting the completed Living Room 3 back up in the post where I had the screenshot. It took 17 minutes to render.
Hand morph for Genesis(1)?Or look for SickleYield's Mutations on ShareCG: free is always good, and for some reason she included two versions of the morph.
One is used here.
No one asked me - Diomede screenshots on whatever - Warning AI Discussion OKFirst, the Aviator Outfit is for V4 but I want to use genesis 2 female. The following thread includes more detail on the process.
However, one way to do it can be summarized as follows. (this uses the Daz transfer utility). This assumes that you own any needed "clones" that allow the items to be converted. http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female
- to convert, open Daz Studio and load a base genesis 2 female
- find the V4 clothing item in your content libraries. Click and drag to the G2F. Studio will say it is wrong and prompt you to convert. Tell Studio the item was created for V4 (or whatever)
- Studio will convert the item for use for G2F.
- Select the G2F in the scene tab and use FILE : SAVE AS : WEARABLE PRESET and save the file to a location of your choice. I gather all of my V4 to G2F content in one place. Some people prefer to save as a support asset rather than a wearable.
- Repeat for each item to be used.
- Close studio.
My Project: Brash Lonergan adventures - Warning AI Discussion PossibleIn the link you provided, I see a Corrected Morph applied when the limb bends and the bicep bulges slightly
Right. That video shows how to make the JCM (joint controlled morph). I thought he also mentioned (no time for me to check today) how to 'hook them up' according to degree of angle, etc.,
So we can make as many of these as we want/need. For example, when the joint is bent to 160, then this morph fires, etc.,
ERC would be great for that, now that it's mentioned. The JCMs are so straight-forward to make... I'll have to break into ERC for Carrara one of these years! ;)
Your Hallowe'en Wishes...I remember putting out a suggestion for a Hllowe'en-themed version of Horse 2, actually. A skeletal horse. It already has an emaciated morph and someone should be able to do something more with that. I don't think anybody's ever done Iray textures for it, like Dragon 3 had got (and I'd still love more Iray skins for Dragon 3, especially a realistic purple one). Maybe a glowing Iray emissive to make it seem spectral?
With the recent game, 'Total War - Warhammer', I was hoping to see it inspire some of the content creators around here. It's got some fantastic skeletal horses, vampiric knights and so forth. I could just picture some of those sorts of concepts with optional emissive Iray effects.

Surprised nobody's yet done a full-on mix-and-match set for creating Cenobite-like characters and costumes, too! 'Hellraiser' got some love from Sickleyield, with her 'Strands Of Horror' and I'd love to see some Genesis 3 and Iray-compatible stuff showing up along those lines.
There was a V4 female version of pinhead out some time ago, I don't remember who made her though. Think they called her Quilty? She had the pin option and everything. As for other hellraiser charcters I would so be excited to see something of that genre here in the shop. One time I did make a version of the cenobite Chatterer, the one with the big teeth, on the M4 model just to see if it could be done. Warning he's not pretty, http://direwrath.deviantart.com/art/To-Pay-for-Your-Sins-251083028 . Something like him for the newer models would be neat. I didn't post the pic in the thread because it is kind of gruesome and I did not want to offend.
Also the cat would be awesome if it came with those creature morphs that the old version had. The mildog had a set of morphs similar as well, and you could make the cat/dog alien, demonic, skeletal, and so on.

Oh wow, I didn't know Warhammer had a new game out. THAT brings back memories. I used to, YEARS AGO, play Warhammer. Only it wasn't a video game, it was a table top game with actual figures. Kind of an expensive hobby as the figures to build up your army could run a bit on the pricy side. But man I had so much fun customizing them and painting them and creating terrain. I had almost as much fun with that part as actually playing the game. lol

Hand morph for Genesis(1)?There are also a number of finger number modification morphs (4, 3 & 2) included with DarioFish's HFS shape packs for Genesis & G2F over at Renderosity, and those packs include corresponding toe morph sets as well.
How to? Custom Star Wars morphs for M4 and V4I spent an hour or so fiddling with the toughest of the morphs - The Gungan. It's not so much that the geometry isn't there to do it, it's that the resulting morph is going to have issues. It will need some rigging changes, which means a custom CR2. (I don't know how to inject customized rigging changes.) And, the UV map is going to be horribly stretched in some places, particularly between the top lip and bottom of the nose. There's enough geometry around the mouth to stretch it out, but it may as well be remapped, as well, so it can be textured better. The eyeballs can be used, with CR2 adjustments, but some stalks will need to be made and the original eye "holes" moved to the top of the head so the stalks can come out of them. The ears can provide some geometry and can be combined into the mesh fairly well, but it'll need separate ears. Facial morphs will likely produce weird results, but that's not too bad considering it's not human, anyway. The biggest problem is the mouth - It can open/close, but even something as simply as smiling will cause weird changes because of how the verts are stretched.
IOW - It's "doable", but the end result is probably not worth the amount of effort it would take. It's probably better to just do a whole new head rather than a morph. The Gungan head is like a crocodile's, which is a fair distance away from being "human."
If you can point me to where you found the Gungan head study object, I can see if I can rig it so you can get some movements out of it and such, maybe even some simple expressions and the like. (If you'd like, that is. If not, then that's fine, too.)
I started on the toughest, first. The other's aren't so difficult and should be fairly easy to get a "decent" result from. No promises, since whenever I promise something, yada yada yada.. But, I'll keep tinkering with it.
May the Swartz be with you! Up the Universe! So long and thanks for all the fish! ;)

"My Country, 'Tis of Thee", whose melody is identical to "God Save the Queen",
In a version hand-written by Francis Scott Key in 1840, the third line reads "Whose bright stars and broad stripes, through the clouds of the fight"Lyrics
O say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?Little known fact, that I probably just made up... Francis Scott Key's original melody was intended for the electric guitar, which back then was know as the "Electroharpismatron" and was powered by lightning, as it was originally invented by Benjamin Franklin while he was experimenting with reanimating dead horses. Few people know that the version Jimmy Hendrix preformed was far closer to the original, than any other versions in between.
i start singin it, when i sing it 'Ain’t He Sweet' comes out okay,
then lyrics morph - 'sweet walks merrily down the street, brim pulled way down low', then he bites the dust.
started out a happy songAh yes... That was actually how Franklin used to sing it while he was playing it on his Electroharpismatron with his teeth... Actually it was Washington's old wooden teeth, which he was using as pick.
Isn't history great?...
Nobody cares about it or learns from it, so you pretty much can make anything up and some idiot will believe it... Just turn on the TV, you'll see... Go ahead... I dare you.
Its awesome.
ise havent had tv since they turned off the analog. was best diet ever, less snacking lol
vaccuum tubes, landfill fodder
A wise decision indeed.
Both ways. And my chair didn't recline. And we liked it that way.

We didn't have a TV... All we had was an old Jack Daniels box with a hole cut out in the front... We filled it with rats and they acted out scenes from Gilligan's Island... And the rats weren't even in color, just grey and they kept forgetting their lines... And we like it that way too...
Headshop weirdnessAlso note that even for FaceGen Pro if you use something like 'autolevels' in Photoshop or Gimp to adjust the lighting in your photos that can reduce the detail in your pictures and thereby cause a lack of depth in the geometry of the face models FaceGen generates from your pictures.
It's somewhat subtle because the FaceGen face still looks like the person in the photograph at the correct angles but when you start looking at the Facegen faces at other angles you go 'wait a minute' something is not quite right. So lesson learned - one frontal and one side shot and non-adjusted in a photoediting SW for those pictures or one non-adjusted photo in a photoediting SW at a slight angle from straight ahead gives you the best results with FaceGen Pro.
Facegen has some really nice morphing tools in it. I like the feature to morph directly on the head. Just CTRL click on the head shape and move that spot around. It lets you really fine tune your final morph before sending it to Daz. I found that as a great compliment to the typical slider morph, or trying to align morph points on the photo.
You can use GIMP/PS to fix uneven lighting in the source, but you just need to be careful. Overly exposed pictures will wash out details. Perfect skin will also be tricky for either app to pick up face geometry sometimes.
My favorite aspect of Facegen is that it gives you an entire set of body textures. These textures are based of the default textures of the figure that you choose. It does a nice job of smoothly integrating them, so they blend in nicely without needing too much texture editing. That makes it much easier to get a body tone that matches the head. And you can adjust your color and white balance of the textures all at once in Daz itself from the surface tab to get the color right.
