Save G2F figure as G3F Figure
What are the proper steps to load a Genesis or G2F figure, and then transfer utility the G3F rig...if you don't want to use Auto-fit? (for example, I scaled and translated the Genesis/G2F figure such that it looks perfect on G3F)
If I just use the transfer utility, after it is done, when I then "fit to" G3F, it snaps back to original scaling and translation. :(
Has anyone found a way to get Facial A-Hairness to work in Daz?I've used it in 3DL with success. I'm in the middle of rendering something else, but I can do a test render at some point.
One nice thing about Unshaven is that there's a slider to change the thickness of each hair. So if you want a detailed close-up, you can make it extra fine (though at that point you might want to consider using two beards of varied style to fill it in a bit). For medium/long shots or less realistic images you can keep it thick or thicken it more.
It does sound pretty versital. How hard do you think it would be to adjust it to fit m4 characters?
I doubt it would be easy, particularly if you wanted it to follow expressions etc. Would be much easier to move the M4 character to G2M. I guess you could try the transfer utility, I have never gone from Genesis to M4, only the other way round.
Who is this "Morph3D" spamming me?And basically everyone getting the Daz newsletters gets Morph3D, too...
I don't get the Daz newsletter, but I got the morph one.
Wondering what it was, I went to the website. I searched everywhere. At no point did I find an explanation of exactly what morph3d was.
Terrible website, in my opinon.
Morph3D is a subsidiary of Daz 3D geared towards game assets for Unity.
And Unity is? If you can't tell, I am not a gamer.
Snow Angel for Genesis 3 Female fur doesn't workSomething I just thought of, after you import the LAMH object
Couldn't you convert prop to figure and do a rigging transfer to make the obj hair posable and move with the figure?
you need to load the clothing on its own in zero position then create the object
unparent it and delete the curve hair and save the scene or D|S will crash
then using the transfer utility with the garment as the source rig it using near vertices under advanced
I have done this with fur trims on boots and stuff, a hood you might have to click on morphs and on right check those too to be added

Can clothing be morphed after being fitted?Yes, you can morph after fitting - you could take it into a modelling application and then import the morph with Morph Loader Pro with Reverse Deformations set to on to strip out the pose and any morphs applied, or you could use DForms inside DS.
Can clothing be morphed after being fitted?Hello!
I am trying to create the illusion of a too small bikini top on a Genesys 2 Female. I've tried several ways. I fitted the bikini top on the Genesys 2 figure but found no way to make it small again in order to create the illusion that the bikini is too small for her frame. I've also tried puting the bikini on manually but found no way to somehow morph or deform the bikini top to make it look like it's streching... I'm new to the Daz 3-D artform but am a quick learner! :)
Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated!Need help transferring project from system to system with Content GathererHi all, I've been searching high and low for an answer to this and not having much luck so thought I'd ask directly on the forums.
I have a project that I'm working on, on one computer and I want to transfer the scene to a different computer as a dedicated rendering machine.
I have Content Gatherer and have followed the PDF manual for gathering and Zipping the scene files which works fine. But I can't figure out how to import those files and the scene into Daz on the second computer, when I load the scene file it says it can't find the content in the scene.
Could someone please give me a quick rundown on getting the scene files from Content Gatherer into Daz on the second computer? I feel like I'm close but just hitting that last hurdle.
I noticed there are people on the forums who use Content Gatherer for almost all their projects in this way, (create the scene on one computer and render on a different computer) if you could give me a quick rundown on how you make the process work it would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks
Darwins' SchtuffOk-I'm amused. I'm not adding Kimo because..wow...bad at 100 percent, and I've got work to do. So, here my morph and skins are with Ivan at 100% and HD, and M7 at 100%. Now, I go back to work. ;)

Animation Clubs 3rd animation finished. Watch the final film now.today I knocked up a garbage bin with a couple of morphs
1. a dent morph
2. hide cat/toy morph
Teen Princess Leila...I wouldn't even know how to go about that in Hexagon. Couldn't one just create a morph in Daz?.
Here's my workflow. I just did a new correction morph while writing this up, so I'm pretty sure I didn't leave anything out. The whole process took less than an hour, and about three quarters of that was writing it all up.
-----
Start a new scene. Load your figure and dial up the character. Dial Breasts Gone to whatever value comes closest to the desired shape - this may be 100%, but other values have worked better for some characters.
(I like to use SpyroRue's G3F Grey Materials to better see the shape, but I'm pretty sure the materials don't really matter.)
Send To Hexagon.
In Hexagon, select the figure. In the Properties sidebar, click on Symmetry. It should automatically select "X", which is what you want. This cuts the work in half by applying whatever you do to one side of the figure to the other side, and indeed makes it possible to do exactly the same thing to both sides.
From the UV and Paint tab, select the Soften Tool. Drag it all over the crumpled areas of the chest.
Rotate the viewport, to see how the changes look from various angles. If you like it, great, you can skip to the part where you export to take it back to Studio. If you're not satisfied, it's time for displacement.
From the UV and Paint tab, select the Displacement Brush Tool. A lot more can go wrong with this tool than with Soften, so be prepared to undo your failed attempts and try again. Click-and-drag to pull outward; shift-click-and-drag to push inward. Move quickly and use a light touch - it's easy to do more than you intended. Do this until you're close to what you want, then go back to the Soften Tool. Lather, rinse, repeat.
When you're satisfied, export as OBJ (sending it back via the bridge doesn't seem to allow the necessary import options). Use the default export options.
Go back over to Studio. Before doing anything else, make sure that the figure has Breasts Gone dialed to 100%, even if you used a different value before export.
With the figure selected, click Edit>Figure>Morph Loader Pro.
Choose the Silo preset - the Hexagon one seems to have the wrong scale. Use the "Choose Morph Files" button to select the OBJ you just exported from Hexagon. Click the little arrow to show options, right click the "no" next to Reverse Deformations, and change it to "yes". Click Accept. Click OK.
Your new morph will be in the Parameters tab under Morphs>Morph Loader. Dial it up to make sure it works properly - you should see the character's chest smooth out, with no other changes. If that isn't what happens, go back through what you just did and figure out what went wrong. If it's working right, continue.
Right click on the morph and turn Edit Mode on. Use Parameter Settings to give it the name you want, change the type to Modifier/Corrective, and change the path to Hidden/Corrective.
Your morph just vanished from Morphs>Morph Loader. This is exactly what is supposed to happen. In the Parameters tab, go to Currently Used. Right-click on the character's Body morph (NOT the full-character control dial, unless the character doesn't have separate head and body morphs), and select "Show in Property Hierarchy". Resize the resulting pane until you can see what you're doing. Click the little triangle on the body morph to expand its properties, then click the triangle by Sub-Components. Drag and drop your correction morph onto "1st Stage (Add/Subtract)".
Back in Properties>Currently Used, right-click Breasts Gone, and select "Show in Property Hierarchy". Expand it and Sub-Components. Drag and drop your correction morph onto "2nd Stage (Multiply/Divide)". You can now close the Property Hierarchy pane.
Zero your figure and dial up the character and Breasts Gone, to make sure it's working properly. If it is, you're ready to save. File>Save As>Support Asset>Morph Asset(s). Expand (figure)>Hidden>Correctives, and check the box next to your new morph. Leave all other boxes unchecked. Click Accept.
Your morph should now be available to use in all new scenes.
Teen Princess Leila...I wouldn't even know how to go about that in Hexagon. Couldn't one just create a morph in Daz?.
As to being on the fence, kind of the same here especially considering I spent so much time over the years developing teen characters since back in the the Gen4 days when there were no teen figures (one item that helped was Jamminwolfe's Tindra Thompson, she had three or four different "age" shapes, kind oif a Gen 4 version of Growing Up). Genesis and the later incarnations, along with Zev0's Growing Up morphs helped simplified the process. However, one of the issues was still "breast reduction" as even some of the teen figures (save for Julie 5) were still somewhat "well endowed" and reducing the size resulted "crumpling" of the areola and nipple region which distorted clothing fits.
Still I really like her head/face shape, her skin map, and the fact she doesn't have pouty lips. I still have about 6$ of a GC left so that would bring the price down to around 10$ but kind of wanting to save that for when Skin Builder Pro3 is released as PC coupons don't work on new releases.
Lucian! Can someone with zev0 morphs de-age this guy and show us what he looks like at about 16-19 years old?
Here are three quick renders with Youth Morph at 0%, 10% and 30%.

Lucian!^^ I think the nail shape is more of a morph issue than a texture issue - really noticable before rendering. It's like the nail bed is going through the nail.
The blue nail polish might just be how Lucian rolls I dunno LOL :P
Genesis 3 a workaroundSo I'm not sure I follow your initial instructions.
Are you making a Genesis 3 morph for Genesis 2? Or using Genesis 3 mesh as clothing for Genesis 2? It's kinda vague what we're supposed to do there.
Either way, if you can get facial morphs working in Carrara, Mimic Pro for Carrara should work. Just make your own adjustments as NLA and it should work - I'd think.
Teen Princess Leila..so anyone who has her, have you tried using morphs like Breasts Smaller, Breasts Gone, or using special morphs like Dogz Natural Breast Shapes or Zev0's Growing Up?
Breasts Small seems to work decently over its full range; Breasts Gone and the Youth Morph cause problems past about 50-60%.
That said, it was not difficult to take her into Hexagon and create a corrective morph for Breasts Gone. (Liberal application of the Soften tool, and a light touch with the Displacement tool.)
An extra benefit of this is that if you dial up the corrective morph without using Breasts Gone, it gives her a chest shape similar enough to base G3F that you can use many breast morphs that work on the base figure.
...looking to not have to do so as my modelling skills are atill pretty bad. Just asking to make sure I can use her as a base for some of my characters before plunking down the zlotys. A young character should allow for better breast sizing for petite to flat. This has been one of my banes with Daz female characters.
If you have "modeling skills", even if they're pretty bad, you're ahead of where I was when I started doing these morphs. Creating a Breasts Gone correction morph (for another character) was literally the first thing I ever did in Hexagon.
Knittingmommy's LaboratoryI've been busy on a couple of projects. Just finished up my entry for the VR contest last night/early this morning. Here is the link if anyone wants to take a look. I'll post it to my thread when the contest is over because I have a little mini tutorial on how I did a couple of things in the render. Finishing up the LAMH hair and beard tutorials this week and should have them posted to the thread over the weekend. I had to finish those up in Windows because for some reason I can't get LAMH to install in Linux yet. I've had some install issues with a few scripts and Carrara only products. No idea why. They just fail to install and sit in the Ready to Install tab in DIM. I hate having to keep going back into Windows for things like this so I hope to get this fixed and have everything permanently working in Linux soon. In the meantime, I'm switching back and forth to that little temp Windows drive for some things still.
I've been following along a tutorial I found for making mdl shaders inside Substance Designer. Expensive program, but they have a 30 day trial which works out perfectly for working through the tutorials. So far, it doesn't look to bad and I think I can transfer what I've learned to be able to make my own Iray shaders in the Shader Mixer. If I can figure that out, I'll work out a tutorial because there are practically no recent tutorials for the Shader Mixer and I haven't found any at all for making Iray shaders in the Shader Mixer even though it is capable of doing so.
I've gone through several old tutorials that are sadly outdated for making 3DL shaders. Things have moved and changed over the years with updates to DS, but no one seems to have updated any of the Shader Mixer tutorials which is very frustrating when you are trying to learn how it works. So, my frustrations will benefit you guys soon.
Acronym definitions - looking for concencousA glossary would be a wonderful resource. I still don't know what an ERC is and when to "freeze" it, and it took me a while to catch on that FBM and PBM are "full body morph" and "partial body morph"... I think.
Yes, FBM = Full body morph and PBM = partial body morph.
ERC = Enhanced Remote Control. Basically it refers to having a master parameter which automatically controls other parameters.
For example if you have "close left eye" and "close right eye" morphs on your figure you could create a "close both eyes" master dial which would apply both morphs at once.
Another typical example is JCM (Joint Controlled Morph): you define a corrective morph which is applied automatically when you bend a particular joint, so the joint "pilots" the morph.
Here's the doc page about ERC : http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/artzone/wiki/user/rbtwhiz/technotes/content/erc/start

Ill tell you a trick, if you want to use any Breast Morphs with Zev0s Youth Morph,
First, Locate The 'Youth Cheast Adjustment' morph included with Youth Morph,
Second, Edit its parameters so that its negative value limit is set to -100%
Third, Now dial it to a minus percentage to match the Value you have Youth morph dialed up.
(E.g using 25% Youth Morph, Dial Youth Chest Adjustment to -25%)
Now dial in the Desired Breast Morph, it should work much better. :)
...that sounds much more feasable for me. I'll give that a try.
