  • Importing simple .duf model but morphs missing or inoperable

    Hi guys,

Have not found anything that appears to deal directly with this.  Through Studio (and a few other programs), I've created two simple models ( a flanders poppy bud and a poppy flower) each with a few simple morphs to allow some limited animation.

When I import the .duf into Carrara (8.5 pro build 19 64bit) I get the basic model but mostly none of the morphs.  For one model, I do get one morph, but the slider is greyed out and inoperable.  In the "model" room for that one morph, if I click Edit, it seems to switch to the morphed mesh but on save just reverts to the greyed slider.  And although I've experiemented with importing / loading the morph files from the Studio "data" library, they appear to do nothing.

Anyone got any ideas of what I'm doing wrong or how to either import models with morphs or load up morphs onto the base model???

    Thanks, Lx

  • Rigging Window Blinds?

I've made venetian blinds numerous times, and I've always used a morph for each movement of the entire blind - ie. Open/Close and Raise/Lower (Both these movements also affect the cord).

(For an example, see my Model Agency - http://www.daz3d.com/interiors/interiors-the-model-agency).

Obviously, it can be done with rigging, but if you have several blinds in a room, the advantage of using morphs is that they can be body parts of the room, rather than separate figures.

  • What are these morphs in Aiko6?

By the way, are there other things I can delete? I want to see how the weight map works. But the cr2 contains so many things that it's time consuming even to turn the page.

Simplifying it is also good for system burden I think. I have exported the A6 obj and reloaded into the cr2 so I can delete the morph information. Some manual corrections are needed for channels like zOffsetA, I noticed.

  • What are these morphs in Aiko6?

It's not used as a morph; rather it provides the shape of the figure the clothing was originally made for so DS can convert it and rerig it for a different figure.

That's new. It seems I have a lot of things to catch up. Thanks!

  • What are these morphs in Aiko6?

MCM = Morph-Controlled Morph - usually, this is a correction morph to help two morphs work together. MCMAiko6PearFigure, for instance, would be the morph to make the combination of Aiko 6 and Pear Figure look right. It should automatically apply when both those morphs are dialled up.

CloneGenesis is the autofit clone to let Studio put Genesis clothing on Genesis 2. It would serve no useful purpose in Poser.

    Thanks a lot guys!

This clone idea is still confusing. Though I don't need it in poser, still I'm interested. From my earlier experience, morph should be put on the clothing to fit a character. If it's put on the body, it means the body will be adjusted to fit the clothing. I don't think that's how it works.

  • Is it allowed to use G3M/G3F morphs to partially dial characters that I plan to sell in Daz store?

It is actually simple, but just need to know morph loader pro (or any bridge app) option, and how it work., and set ERC correctly.

    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/creating_content/packaging/tutorials/saving_morphs/start#saving_your_morphs

you only need to keep it mind,,,untill set ERC,

import your sculpted morph target (made by any arication)  keep  selecting the sculpt base shape Figure  (which you mixed in daz studio, with other product morph controller, not add your sculpting)  to  daz studio,  with "reverse defomation option".  not return sculpt base sahpe to zero morphed base shape, when import your morph target.

Then generate "delta morph," and "controller"  from "sculpt base shape."

if you do not use the "reverse defomation"  option, morph loader should generate "delta moprhs" from "default genesis3 male" (zero base shape).. then it include delta which you not sculpt, but other product offered delta. .then enve though Customer not buy other  products which used for "sculpt base" ,  we can see your desigend (sculpted) shape.

As Customer side, I often feel, about many New character made from another product characters,   Do the vendor really need to use another Character morphs to make the shape?

They can deform those  base character shape much, they have skill enough, then  why need to Use another Character, not only use default genesis3 male, with already offered morphs as sculpt base?

I think it is because,, DAZ request, or DAZ recommend,, to sell those Morphs mixed with another character to ensure  User  buy not only your product, but buy those character you mixed.    (usually it should be DAZ original new characters with version number)

  • Lucian!

Any folks here want a (really simple, seriously made in 10 minutes) morph to smooth out the pecs a bit?

Makes the body super David like.

Also using the face at 65% or so and cheekbones size at around -40% mixes great with other morphs

  • Is it allowed to use G3M/G3F morphs to partially dial characters that I plan to sell in Daz store?

Yes, but you don't include them in the actual moprh, instead you link them (via ERC Freeze) to your morph, so that setting it both sets your own sculpting and turns up the needed add-on morphs (as long as the user has those). You create the moprh by exporting the figure (or bridging to ZBrush or Hexagon), at base resolution, with the morphs you want to use set, sculpting, then loading via Morph Loader Pro/returning over the bridge and enabling Reverse Deformations to strip out all the changes that were already in the mesh, leaving just your adjustments.

Sounds difficult for my skill level. Can you point me to a tutorial?

  • What are these morphs in Aiko6?

Hello, everyone. I've got some questions about the morphs in genesis based models.
I exported Aiko6 from DS to poser. The cr2 file has a size of around 18M. Some morph targets occupy lots of space in it. I recognize some of them as expressions or joint controls. But what's the meaning of CloneGenesis, MCMAiko6PearFigure and MCMAiko6Heavy? They have an initial value of 0 and their channels are hidden, meaning they are not activated and I cannot activate them. Why should I have them?
Aiko5 also has such morphs, and even more clones.
By the way, the morph names start with certain initials. What I figured out is
    FBM = full body morph
    FHM = full head morph
    JCM = joint control morph
What are the meanings of PBM, PHM, MCM? Thanks!

  • Does Ginger for Genesis 2 need Stephanie 6 to work?

The exception is M5 and V5, where there were a lot of characters that used them, but these uvs where bundled into Genesis 2 base, so should be available to all.

Available for use on Genesis 2, you would still need to buy M5/V5 to use them on Genesis. (or else use Map Transfer).

I don't need a morph like that today, I don't have that squirrel (yet). Tho some day perhaps, a morph like that sounds good, if it is ever made. I thought there was a custom fur kit (like LAMH) squirrel, I must be thinking of the ferrite or something.

I'll need to drill that stuff some more to get it into my small little mind. Hopefully I'll be able to remember more then just 'ili' is ''or' without looking it up. Time will tell how much has soaked in tomorrow. Thanks, very much so.

    lol. (Shifting gears)

I was just looking back threw the thread, and I never did list what was what with that funny Egyptian gents skit. All the wild props from the (not quite guitar) Ankh-tar to the Sundisk bolo-tie and Ra shades, are nothing more then mountains of D-formed primitives. The band is all generation6 figures. Dan (right) is on the six-string Ankh-tar fretless bass, Garen (left) is on the regular Ankh-tar, and Derek is on the Djed drums.

I'll need to dig a lot more for the boots hat and outfit, I think most of it was from M5 or M4, I think.

??? yea, I don't know. Well, One more render of the G2M band with the Izabella7 kit-bash elves before I move on.

FYI, that is a 16+GB 3DL elf and band scene with all them figures and make-shift band props, that is NOT going to fit in any consumer Graphics card that I know of, lol.

  • Save G2F figure as G3F Figure

Ah, if that is what you want then the Transfer Utility ignores any transforms - you would need to bake them in by exporting as OBJ and then reimporting, using the same preset for the options both ways.

Do you mean Genesis or G2F clothing on G3F using Transfer Utility rather than autofit?  Do you have "reverse deformations" ticked?

I see Stephanie 6 listed as required.  The character uses the Stephanie 6 morph, so it won't look the same without Stephanie 6.  The texture doesn't require Stephanie 6.

Yup, you guess that from the context.

Yavlyayutsya bElkami =) A yet another declension case. These are sorta like prepositions in English, like "listen to", you just memorise which goes where. Other than that, your sentence works. "Oni" is "they", and unlike many other languages that have grammatical genders, we only have a single "oni" pronoun regardless of whether "oni" are female, male or neuter. You can say "yavlyayutsya" without "oni" because the verb form contains the 3rd person plural markers already (for the present tense, that is), but in writing pronouns are usually not omitted.

Yeah, in Russian birds and squirrels are on the trees, same as stuff is on pictures (because they're flat) not in them. Now you know why Russians make funny mistakes with English prepositions =)))

I have the DAZ squirrel, and I keep meaning to make ear fur for it and maybe a small face morph to make it look more like "the squirrel I know".

  • Save G2F figure as G3F Figure

What are the proper steps to load a Genesis or G2F figure, and then transfer utility the G3F rig...if you don't want to use Auto-fit?   (for example, I scaled and translated the Genesis/G2F figure such that it looks perfect on G3F)

If I just use the transfer utility, after it is done, when I then "fit to" G3F, it snaps back to original scaling and translation.  :(
