Young Face Morph G3F
Click on the little gear icon on the morph slider and open properties. Highlight and copy the name (not label!). Go to your content folder in windows explorer (or whatever mac calls is) data/daz 3d/genesis 3/female/morphs and then paste the name into the seach box in the top right corver (don't know exacts on Mac). If the morph was saved correctly that should at the very least tell you who made it, and at best tell you the name of the product.

GENX: Morphs should be in the morph folder for the according figure ?Hello. I bought GEN X and gen2 et Gen3 add ons. There are three sections: transfer, presets and Morphs. I first load a V4.2 in the Tranfer section. Then I load a character (let's say MRL Ariana). I do drag and drop the PZ2 files (body and Head) in the tranfer section. No problem. Then Transfer. At this point, GenX says: Morphs should be in the morph folder for the according figure. Continue anyway ? At this stage, I don't understand what action is needed. I can't drop the pz2 files in the morph section Can somebody help me on this problem ? Any help will be appreciated.

Video card choices: GTX 1080?The "fastest 1080" simply means it has a faster out of the box clock speed compared to other 1080's. For a hardcore gamer, this might mean a couple extra frames per second. In Iray, I honestly don't believe it would make much of a difference. Maybe it would shave a couple seconds off your render, that's all. That card is over a foot long, lol. I'd have to buy a new case. I think 11" is the max my case can hold, so no triple fan monstrosities for me.
Anyway, if you are primarily just using Iray, there is no reason to go for crazy super clocks, unless the cooling is really nice. Good cooling would be more important than the clock speed itself considering how Iray pushes cards for potentially long periods of time. Go with what fits in your case and has good cooling.
While EVGA may have had a few hiccups, every company has, they are still solid and have excellent customer service. EVGA offers extended warranties, for a 1080, it would be $30 for 5 years, $60 for 10 years. You read that correctly, you can get a TEN year warranty on a graphics card from EVGA. Odds are you will not own it that long! If your card dies, they might just give you a newer model replacement instead of the same card. Plus you can transfer that warranty if you sell it, which raises the resell value of the card for down the road. Nobody else offers an extended warranty like that, and with their reputation for customer service that is why I personally would choose EVGA for my next GPU. I do not know how living outside the US impacts this, though.
Ape World 2 - Opinions wantedIt depends on the pose, the scaling of the figure, the surroundings, and other morphs you might want to apply. They all look apelike in a Planet of the Apes kinda way and the LAMH is very good, While I don't think you'd fool Jane Goodall with the chimp (which I own), put him in a jungle setting and make sure there's some vegatation disguising his limb proprotions and you should be OK.
I also find that with a bit of morph fiddling, the chimp makes a reasonably good australopith.

As a digital artist I feel your pain. Nothing worse than working on a commission for a client and having the program crash after two hours of work. Gone. Or the file gets corrupted and doesn't save properly. Hours and hours of work out the window. ARGH! That's the worst. I feel your pain, DM. I'm sorry. :(
I'm of the crowd of "everything happens for a reason" though. I think your next version is going to be EVEN BETTER! :D I think you're going to knock it out of the park!

You also don't generally need mesh lights unless you want a particular shape to emit light (e.g. a globe lighting fixture.

This character requires Genesis 3 Female Head and Body Morphs and another morph package for GF3. I'm thinking I need to transfer all the particular morphs required first - but I'm afraid that those morphs will have name conflicts with morphs I already have installed for GF1 and GF2. No matter what I do, when I transfer the morph and try to apply the character... only the naval and ears change. :DThanks for this info. We must've posted at the same time. I'm just seeing it.

Daz Studio 4.9.3 Pro, General Release!On my PC, Transfer Utility doesn't work as expected with 4.9.3.166 :(
I'm creating an outfit with Marvelous Designer and exporting it to OBJ, but the fitted figure doesn't keep current morphs of character.
Steps to reproduce the issue :
- Export Genesis 3 body with morphs (for example Height to 105% to have a character measuring 165cm) to OBJ
- Import OBJ in Marvelous Designer
- Create outfit and simulate
- Export outfit to OBJ
- Import OBJ with DAZ Studio
- Launch Transfer Utility
- Scene Item : Genesis 3
- Item Shape : Current
- Scene Item : Outfit
- Check Closest Vertex First (a change with DS 4.9.3)
- Check Reverse Source Shape From Target
- Click Accept
The outfit is not fitted and hasn't the right height, I tried exactly the same procedure on another PC with DS 4.9.2 and it works expected.
Please does someone have the same issue ?
Does it exist a fix ?

People of Earth: Faces of Europe Genesis 3 Female / MaleThe confusion over what exactly the origin of the first names is is exactly what I was referring to. I don't recognize half of the names, so I wouldn't be able to identify them. Nor would I be able to search for the dials if I was looking for a specific type.
Can anyone confirm what the dials actually state with the product?
SY states they are labeled regionally, Northern Europe, Eastern Europe, Southern Europe and so on. Perhaps SY could add a image of the morph dials to the product description.

One more question.
I have a created morph sliders for a head morph, and for a body morph. I dial both, apply my textures to g3f and save as a character preset.
When I load this character on a fresh G3F figure, many unwanted morphs are applied, not just the two morphs I initially dialed to create the character preset.
I saved a shaping preset for both the head and body morphs seperately, and those works perfect.
The problem only applies to my Character preset.
Both Morphs (Head and Body) I used to create my dials are baked morphs since I used only merchant resources and zbrush to create them. So no other morphs should be present when I apply my character preset...
Hair floats over headParented props do not AutoFollow morphs the way fitted figures do. You could make a morph to fit the hair to the character, or you could just adjust its position manually.
Video Card: CUDA cores vs memory - which is more important?Specs for GTX 1070 is PCIe 3.0 x16, will performance be reduced with PCIe 1.0 x16 (assuming it's backwards compatible)?
With PCI-E (as a standard) each version is backwards compatible. The only difference is a question of speed and number of lanes supported.
A card that "Supports PCI-Express v3.0 x16" will run in ANY PCI-E slot. It may not run as fast, but it will work. The amount of speed lost is pretty small in most cases. The number of lanes is more a consideration for speed and power maximums. Unless you are running a very high end CPU, the typical motherboard today only supports up to 40 PCI-E lanes. That means (given certain lanes are dedicated to Northbridge and Southbridge components), typically only 24 lanes are available for GPUs.....so you can have ONE 16x card in the system. If you put two in the system, both will drop to 8x. It is possible to force one to 16x and one to 8x, but that creates issues in synchronizing. Or you can have THREE cards, each at 8x, but that's the max. Put FOUR in (if you have the slots) and some (usually two of them) will drop to 4x.....and so on.
It's really a question of how much a hit you take. V3.0 of PCI-E really just supports faster burst transfers. It does make a small difference.

OK. Well at least it looks like I can use a GTX 1070 or 1080 in that machine with reasonable performance until I get built another one with components that are more up to date and which can handle two or more cards.

Hair floats over headGuys, I need help!
I am working on a character morph. When I dial it on G3F and add hair, even tough the hair is parented to G3F, it floats above G3F's head. When I slide the morph dial to 0%, I notice the hair are exactly where they should be on a default G3F figure.
When I dial my morph to 100% and back to 0% on and on a few times, suddenly the hair then follows my morph and sits on G3F's head, where they should be...
Any clue what's the problem? Any help would be much appreciated!

Daz Studio 4.9.3 Pro, General Release!I reported Transfer Utility bug, that's really strange nobody notice it since it's a basic feature of DS to import objects... I just uninstalled DS 4.9.3 and reinstalled DS 4.9.2, the bug is gone and everything is working as expected. I hope they'll find and fix the bug soon.Darwins' SchtuffOhh Sol is coming along nicely. I like what you've done with her skin so far and her face morph is beautiful.
I'll bet she'll have fun with the boys in my library when she's released :D
