Studio 4.21 doesn't see all items in library

Are you certain that you
- Exported UserData from your old PC via SmartContent->ContentDBMaintenance?
- Copied everything correctly - including all base folders/libraries from your old machine?
- Hooked up all those same base folders/libraries to the new PC?
- Re-Imported all metadata on your new PC via SmartContent->ContentDBMaintenance?
- Completed all these steps in this order?
I did #2 first to a portable hard drive. C > Users > Public > Public Documents > My DAZ3D Library.
I assume "hooked up" means copied them from the portable hard drive to the same spot on
my new computer as on my old computer.
Then I came here for help and did #1 and #4.Studio 4.21 doesn't see all items in libraryAre you certain that you

My DS Categories have some duplicates. How can I fix that?OK, I am making some progress even if it's a little ugly.
This script is a little complicated because it's a hacked-about version of this script from the wiki and the changes suggested in this forum comment and then with some changes to just output the items that we are interested in.
If you run it then it should attempt to just list the categories that are potentially cloned - see example output also attached. I am hoping that this will show 6 entries for you which will indicate that the clones are there and, like with the previous script will hopefully show if there are any trailing/leading spaces. There is a "verbose" option that will probably show way more than you need but might be useful if the main run is not helpful. To output the verbose option just replace false with true in the last line.
Need help with animation exportHello guys, does anyone have a working workflow or video on exporting animations from DAZ Studio to Unity and making them work in Unity?
I'm trying to export simple walk animation for G8F, export is a success but the import is a complete disaster(
The imported character simply doesn't move.
Is there any guide on this subject?
Am I missing anything?

Copy the UserData files to the same place on the new machine, [libraryFolder]/runtime/Support (sorry, I previously said /data/runtime/Support). When you Re-Import Metadata, you should get a list of all Products and entries for the UserData. Include everything and Accept.
Let's look at the Poser stuff after this completes. One step at a time...
Is this Content Library > Square Hamburger > Content Database Maintenance > Re-import Metadata?
Did that, restarted Studio, no joy.
Still no non-DAZ showing in Content Library. Some of it does show up in DAZ Studio Formats > My DAZ 3D library, but most is still missing.
And yet, when I load an old scene, everything shows up and renders except for my custom textures, like modified colors for Melody 2.0.Studio 4.21 doesn't see all items in librarycsaa said:

For Smart Content, you will need to "Re-Import Metadata" from the Content DB Maintenance utility on the new system. This picks up all the info you had from installed products.
Today I had to upgrade my PC and reinstall Daz with custom CMS folders. Somehow I ran into the same issue as the OP in that the contents fetched by the Daz Install Manager were not showing up in Daz Smart Content. Your suggestion to reimport the metadata helped.
Cheers!
Smart Content is all about the metadata. It can't be of much use without the metadata.

For Smart Content, you will need to "Re-Import Metadata" from the Content DB Maintenance utility on the new system. This picks up all the info you had from installed products. If you have customized anything in the old system (custom categories, changes to metadata, etc.), "Export User Data" from there first, and copy the UserData_nn.dsx files to the new system. It should be in the same folder as the rest of the metadata files (typically [yourLibrary]/data/runtime/Support).
For the Poser Formats, did you set up the Content Directory Manager with the correct path?
The only .dsx UserData files I can locate are UserData_Local_User_AncientMineShaft (six of those) and UserData_PublicBuild_1 (Three, numbered 1, 2, and 3.)
Did you export them just now? You will want the latest data. Anyway, yes, copy those (including the Ancient Mine Shaft, it won't hurt) before re-importing. The number User Data files depends on how much customization you've done. Personally, I have 12 of them. I forgot that the name for the beta versions exports with a different name, but it all goes into the same database, unless you specifically set up another.
Copying the whole database as Ascania suggests is also valid, but I have never tried that.
Okay, I've copied them to an external hard drive. How do I import them to the new computer? I don't want to screw anything up, since I seem to be almost at a usable Studio computer!
All that's left is to convince Content Manager to see all of my content, and I can retire the old computer.
Oh... and to convince 4.21 to see all of my custom textures...Studio 4.21 doesn't see all items in libraryPetercat said:

In addition to what the others have said about re-importing your metadata, you have said that not everything is shown in the Content Library so you need to fix that first. It sounds like you have not added all your base/content directories. Under COntent Library select the "Content Directory Manager" from the corner hamburger icon drop-down and make sure all the libraries you copied across are referenced under "DAZ Studio Formats". Also, make sure your Daz-store library is also listed under "Poser formats". You can use the same window on your odl machine as a reference.
The instructions to update the CMS/Smart Content will pull from these libraries and so it's best to get them added first.
Okay, found it. Poser content is now showing up, thanks.

I don't see "Export User Data". The only thing I see is "Export Product Metadata".

Texture painting woes+So as I said, "Also, I admit that as I am typing this the realization that I may have to start from scratch is sinking in. ". Well after mulling it over for most of the morning I decided it's probably best to just go back through the import process and get everything set for UDIM from the start. Then go through and get everything set to export to Substance using a blend of the Daz to Substance and Blender to Substance pipelines.
I would however still like to hear from other people and their experiences with Daz/Diffeo/Blender/whatever texturing and texture painting. More information is always better than zero! Why don't Gen 9 eyes import properly in Blender?Padone said:

I heard somewhere that Diffeomorphic does not import clothes properly. Is that true?
I will give it a try.

@barbult, my first thought would be to delete the file from the Content Library, uninstall, then reinstall with DIM, and if you had a zip file stored, refresh the zip file's data, and update metadata within DIM before opening D|S.
I haven't done this particular error, but I have got close with two files loaded. One by DIM, one by Content Manager. Why I never login now.

It's not single product, it is 3 entire categories, with thousands of files in those categories.

I tried the renderosity Enterprise. No textures and no UV maps. Requires a lot of extra work.
Lucky you - I am also looking for an aircraft carrier, I also bought the Enterprise... I don't even find it in my library. - and yes, after spending way too much money on Daz-stuff I should know how to install it correctly ^^
Sorry for digging up the old threadAccording to the readme, it consists of half a dozen obj files. So you need to find wherever you stored them (or download them again) and then import them into Daz via File > Import... It'll probably take some trial and error to find the right parameters when importing to get everything the right way up and scaled correctly.
Once you've got it imported, you can save it into your library as a figure/prop asset.
