AOBB's L.A. 2019 G9 head morph bundle - 7 1982 Blade Runner characters. No materials incl.
This bundle includes the same characters as the ones I made for G8.1 plus the new head morph of Eldon Tyrell (Tycoon G9). The brand new sculpts are definitely superior to their G8.1 counterparts.
The Lady Noir G9 morph included in this bundle is an improved version of the "standalone" Lady Noir G9 that I released before, so you might want to replace the Lady Noir G9 you have installed before with the one from this bundle. That's up to you. Just in case, I won't remove the previous version of Lady Noir G9. You just can't have them installed simultaneously, because they share the same name.
Non-commercial use only!
You will find the bundle here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jSP98tWVpksBgqQjPNleAkcQ-JSDSWkc/view?usp=sharing
And here is how the morphs look like:
Enjoy and please post your renders with these morphs in this thread. Thank you!
Cheers,
AOBB
Edit: Two errors in the brow and hair table were brought to my attention. I have fixed them in the table just now but for those who have already downloaded the zip with the "erroneous" table, here are the correct versions:
Akemi Baby Hair for G9
Daiosa Hair for G8F.
Sorry about that.

Thanks again, everyone! I tried the map transferring from G9, and I thiiiink I got it - map transfer itself is still a bit complicated for me, because I've never used it before although I knew broadly what it does. But I did get an arm tattoo to fit to G8 instead of G9. So, success!
The whole process seems like quite a lot of hassle though, especially since I'll have to recreate all the presets for the different parts of the tattoos. It would be cool if tattoos were decals, so one could fit them to basically anything and also move them around! Dare I even ask - could I not perhaps convert geoshell tattoos into decals? (Will understand perfectly if y'all are done with answering my questions here! Juuuuust in case ...
)Pls check the tut from Jay related to Map Transfer - https://youtu.be/YxE5Lfkid1M?si=Oga_-eJ-_MW1Lbv2
The trick for your case : Map Transfer can not directly handle the texture maps on a geoshell, you have to assign the texture map from the geoshell surface slots to the corresponding surface slots on the figure before using Map Transfer. (copy / paste will do)
As for using decals, it also depends... Decals are UV independent, so a full image / stencil of a tattoo has to be used for being projected on the figure. Like the above-shown SS, tattoos on Body, Arms (across seams...) cannot be directly used while the ones on Abs, Chest mostly can.

Just let me prefix this with a "this doesn't answer the question"...
I used this with great success to move some of my favourite morphs form G3->G8, and the lack of such a product for G8->G9 is one of the things that's stopping me moving across. I used it mainly with expressions, and I still use some of the converted expressions frequently.
https://www.daz3d.com/xtransfer--genesis-3-to-genesis-8-converter
While I'm no expert, I can imagine its harder for G9 since the mesh topologies and densitties look more different than they did for G3->G8, but I too would find such a product immensely useful.
There are products that achieve similar results, by ManFridday and RSSY - just that the UIs are very different.. one of them is already linked in the first comment of this thread. They do more or less what the steps I showed were with typically less fiddling.
I have used xtransfer plenty in the past and it does the same thing I explained pretty much.. except that it merges the G3 clone for G8 in the transfer process so you don't need to dial it as an intermediary.. you can see it happenning on your scene while it runs. Also transfers hidden JCMs etc which I didn't cover but I was just showing the ropes, not a super in-depth transfer :-)
Yes G8 is G3 with minute differences... iirc only around the eyes, hands and feet did it have slight differences.. and T vs A pose. Other than that the shape is pretty much the same.

Thanks franky85, very helpful. Just for clarification though, in step 4, when I click Favorites, do I need to select the favorited morphs from a list?
It's going to transfer the ones you favorited in step 2.

I have bought so much stuff lately.
I love the male head shape! It's giving low-key anime, like he could be a companion to a Rarestone character.
Thanks! I am particularly happy with how he came out here. He is based on a source image that is one of the major characters of a story I am working on and is evolving as I test recently acquired new stuff. For this shot, I had just added the Head Shapes Vol 2 Masculine to a character that had started as a Face Transfer 2 character, with FT2 correctives dialed in; then I did some dial-spinning with Shapes Randomizer for G9; then added a nice dash of the Head Shapes Vol 2 that I just picked up on Sunday:
This is him after bumping up FT2 Young:
And before Head Shapes Vol 2:
Not that I don't love the old stuff, but I love testing new stuff ...

How do I use the transfer utility?
1) Load G8 and G9 figures

2) Favorite the morphs you want to transfer on the G8 figure

3) Launch the transfer utility

4) Uncheck everything basically.. and have these only. Make sure the source and target items are the correct ones.

5) Pick clone for the Genesis 9 figure

6) Pick Genesis 8 Female in the list

7) Once you click Accept, you can dial the morphs on the Genesis 9 figure. You need to dial in the Genesis 8 Female clone figure. It will be hidden so you need to show hidden items.

You should make a copy of the Genesis 8 Female clone base shape with the rigging fixed - it won't be aligned properly by default so you'll need to adjust rigging to shape etc. Also, the transfer does not save any morphs. You will need to manually save them.
Tada! "Jada 9" - using MW Nina for the materials. Typically you will need to fix the eyes, maybe the eyelids.. it's a bit of a lottery but it works.

(not a render but iray preview)
Hope it helps

UV Sets on a geoshell derive from the figure that the shell fits on. So if you own Legacy UV products from Cayman Studios - 87928 / 88815, you can easily use Map Transfer to convert tattoo texture maps on G9 figure to G8. Then you may use the converted texture maps with geoshell or LIE on G8 figures.
So, whether having "a universal geoshell" or not doesn't matter while the capability of converting texture maps across UV Sets matters...
Another free alternative: project and bake the texture maps from G9's UV to G8's in Blender...
You're a life saver today ;-) I actually own that product! Must change the thread title again, and will try the transferring tomorrow. Thanks!
No problem ~ pls feel free to give it a try. Be noted that there're still some limitations that depend on the tattoos' positions. If the tattoos are across the seams, this way in DS will not work. The doable case is like the attached SS.
Another way is that you may consider using the product 91834, which can bring G9's skin texture as well as tattoos to G8.

Transferring G8 morphs to G9nabob21 said: Wonderland, thanks for the reply, but Shape Splitter isn't the product I was thinking about. I do have it and like it, but it isn't the right one.
Shape Splitter definitely isn't what you need for converting morphs. I've been using the steps given in WP Guru's videos on converting morphs between figures. It takes a little time, but it isn't difficult. Sometimes, depending on what my goal is, I'll convert the character as a single full-body morph, then use Shape Splitter to separate the converted figure into the specific morphs I need.
Male and Female Anatomical Elements maps for G9 - Which Figures Have Them?leo04 said:
Is there any program or addon or some way to make Gens UV maps for the new anatomical elements that are available for Genesis 9? I have always had this problem because I make custom skins for some of my characters using Skin Builders, which do not address this issue. Seems that if someone were to make a utlity that could take an existing or custom skin and make a gens map, for either gender, they might make a tidy sum on it.
Just thinking out load on that.
If anyone does know of a process or some program or utility that is available please let me know. (Privately, I don't think anyone is permitted to endorse or recommend stuff in the open here). By the way please keep it simple, I don't have things like Adobe, (costs to much). I do have the CorelDraw suite, and I have been using that for years.
Thanks.
You can use the custom UV map mentionned above, or, for female gens (does not create male anatomy) you can do this to create the maps - no extras required :
1) Go in the Map Transfer utility from the surfaces tab

2) Create a Template (right-click the templates section) and drag the Body from the right pane onto the new template and
3) Pick Genital Map Bake

4) Might vary, but for me the textures are output on
%appdata%\DAZ 3D\Studio4\temp\textureConvertPicking brains about a pose convertoralso you are in for a treat using Generation 4 and other legacy figures in D|S
you don't need magnets for clothes in D|S
you can click edit figure transfer active morphs to fit clothing without unimesh fits
you can even use edit, geometry add smoothing modifier to make them fit even better
and you can use Dforce on many welded items or Poser dynamic clothes
(unwelded clothing will fall apart but it did that in Poser with dynamic cloth too)
Picking brains about a pose convertoryou can use both
I do
Genesis 1 does have M4 and V4 UV options included in the base starter essentials but you would still need to buy morph packages, grab some freebies or sculpt it yourself in another application.
Clothing can be autofitted
I find V4 and M4 a lot less resource heavy but obviously dated
read some tutorials watch some videos and try stuff, Google yourtopic:site.daz3.com for specifics as the documentation explains stuff much better thsn I can
those bat files only needed to be manually run for Poser (and Carrara BTW) Powerloader runs them, you just use that to load your figures and it puts up the dialogues for everything
just make sure no duplicate cr2 files for V4 or M4 (A4, H4, G4 etc) hidden in your runtimes there can only be one for each figure

Picking brains about a pose convertorNo, the pose converter only changes the file type, doesn't change the end result of the poses and certainly would not affect morphs.
Some free pose converters:
https://www.renderosity.com/users/richardandtracy/freestuff?sb=newest&page=6
I've been encouraging people for years to be nice to themselves.
Genesis uses V4/M4 textures. And also supports clothing conversions via the auto-fit dialog. With this product:
https://www.daz3d.com/v4-and-m4-shapes-for-genesis[n.b. also comes in a bundle and/or other legacy characters do]
which will provide working morph shapes for Genesis to resemble V4/M4.Now, there is a morph conversion "set" of products to bring their morphs forward into Genesis however trying to figure all what is needed is rather convoluted IMHO as never have I seen "all" of them on sale in any one sale, {like maybe listed on the same page dear marketing team}.
AFAIK they also would require the aforementioned shaping product.
Welcome to Daz Studio :-)
If I can piece together the products for transferring morphs over I'll come back and list ... in the meantime if somebody else knows what they all are, feel free to jump in ;-)
Here we go: https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-generation-x2
Now, that 10% off indicates that it is part of a sale basket. I'll see if I can find it, 'cause it should be a lot cheaper.
{***} ... okay, it's priced like it should have been in one of the grab bags BUT it is not showing and none of the coupons are working with it. So if interested keep checking the grab bags, hopefully it'll reappear and/or get back to those nice sale prices of being less than $6.
The [Disco Chives] Misplaced Parrot Complaint ThreadComplaint then Non-complaint: Had to go uptown today(Monday) for a blood test, for Urologist appointment on Wednesday. Everytime I go out of the house I end up spending at least $40 ($2 bus, $10 breakfast, $30 UBER to get home, plus anything I buy, and doctor charges)
. So, I try to limit my trips. But today I realized that the 8:00AM bus that I take in the morning (the only bus from home to the city) is not a normal bus route, but is somewhat flexible. I've been using their feature of calling and arranging for pickup at my house, and drop off at specific, limited locations in the city and near the medical center, (because ancient people walk badly). But today I realized that some of the people on the bus are getting dropped of at work near the mall area(it's way on the other side of the city), which is not shown on the bus route map for the bus I take. This is good news because I've been trying to find a way to get to the mall area without having to wait an hour to transfer bus routes. So next time I get a bee-in-my-bonnet about going up to the mall, I should be able to do it. Just arrange for a pickup at home and a drop off at the mall. I'll still have to get an UBER back, but it is a lot cheaper than my previous plan of using two UBERs. One to get to the mall after being dropped off by the bus at the medical area of the city, and then having to take another UBER to get home. Yay for the old people's bus!
Yeah, yeah, I could take the bus back home, but there is only one, and it runs at 3:00 in the afternoon, so I'd have to wait several hours but I can't stand up for very long so I'd have to sit. I could sit in a restaurant, but they expect you to spend money. I'll keep trying to find a way to use the bus more, but for now, it looks like I've found a way to expand my range a bit without incurring too much extra cost. Cool.
Morph Loader Pro - Geometry did not match, but I did not make any changesi tryed everything but the morph scales the whole character along with the change made on blender. someone could help me with that?
but you look so stiff, my dear. You pose like a rockI'm really bad at this because I get frustrated quickly with my posing and give up too early. I found the following thread very helpful for adding extra interaction with the environment: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/208141/how-to-use-dforce-creating-a-blanket-draping-clothes-on-furniture-and-much-more-commercial/p1
There are some PDFs that are linked that actually cover a head on pillow case you mentioned and using dforce for moving a cushion into the body vs pushing the body down into the cushion. I think I need to just practice more and get used to the tools available. The new user contests also have an advanced contest with lots of Push Modifiers/Deformers examples. I found this video very helpful: https://youtu.be/TwKcEGdIXLI?si=huaLOB2hadvCpBU7
As for products, there is Mesh Grabber Bundle (Win) seems to help for modifying the environment or clothing in a scene. I haven't tried Ghost Dynamics mentioned above, but it looks kind of cool. Natural Movements Pack for Genesis 9 is also pretty neat to adding extra morphs for the body. There is a sit morph included that flattens the bottom area and legs as if your model were sitting down on a chair. I'm not sure how well it works since I've only used it once and the person was wearing clothing so I didn't notice too much of a difference.
Anyway, not sure if these are helpful, but thought I'd share and also check out other people's suggestions since I'm always trying to improve my work and this is a think I'm pretty bad at and want to improve. =)
