I don't understand your second bullet point at all. What do you mean by "the morphs slider"? Which morph slider, there's now hundreds. Is there a specific one called "morphs"? Where would that be?

The slider for the ear morph you used on your figure.

This looks correct. If the joints would not be adjusted, the bones would be outside of the hand and hence cause far more severe distortions.

Because the hands of Genesis 3 are straight, but the hands of V4 are bent in the unposed position, hand poses for Genesis 3 will no longer work well when applying the V4 Clone. The morph will always add the additional bending. Also, the rotation for the joint adjustment is calculated, so it may not be perfect for all hand poses. (You can try to improve it with the joint editor.) I'm not sure, if this fully explains your problem, it looks a bit more extreme then it should be and what I get for the V4 Clone on G3F. You can also turn off the rotation limitations for the 2nd and 3rd part of the fingers and rotate those parts to fix it.

  • Hair issues with fantasy ears

Okay... I understand the first post, but I'm not seeing any ear or head morphs on the hair on the current figure I have in the scene, even with adding in 1% of a different elf ear morph. Maybe this is just  hair where that work around isn't going to work?

And for the second post (from Richard) I figured out how to show hidden parameters, thanks for that clear explination. But I don't understand your second bullet point at all. What do you mean by "the morphs slider"? Which morph slider, there's now hundreds. Is there a specific one called "morphs"? Where would that be?

This happens if the clone morph doesn't adjust the joints to the clone shape. Turn on the joint editor in DS to see if the joints are following the shape of the clone morph or not.

Not sure. What do you think?

  • G2M loading with a bunch of CTRLRIGs

Ah ha... ok, I installed a third party morph. Which isn't normally a problem...

But for some reason, one of the two morphs is loading as '1' on default... and for some reason the system thinks this normal and not worth commenting on in 'currently used.'

So, it's fundamentally fixed, but how do I set it so that 'default value' remains 0?

Ah, I found it! Llynara--look under Figures for the CDI/Furries folder and the figures are there (rather than the Pose/CDI/Furries with the morphs). That works exactly as I hoped!

I really appreciate everyone trying things out while I was sleeping. I thought I just didn't get 3rd Gen figures. Now I have to find time to play with her!

Glad it is working now. For those wondering, I did include a readme that I updated to remove all the decoding information that was required before. I do not know where Daz put it, but I put it in the Readme's/CDI Readme folder. It was pretty short though:

To use, load Furries MEL FBM or Furries MEL LE from the CDI\Furries\ subcategory of your Figures library, then apply tail and face shaping poses as desired from the CDI\Furries\ and CDI\Furries\Faces Melody\ subcategories of the Pose library.

There are some notes at the end too:

CDI morphs on the neck are controlled by the same morph on the head and should not require adjustment.

Due to puffiness of some tails, rotations should be limited. In some cases, manual rotations will work better than the EasyPose dials. Adjustment may be necessary with some predefined poses.

Some morphs should normally be used at 1.0 only, such as TeethRodent; but limits have not been set on the morphs in case there is a need to use them at different values.

Scale and position of eyes may need adjusting when creating custom faces.

Some facial poses will require adjustment to Scale and Translation of hair and other head props.

Most dials do not work well over a value of 1 or below a value of -1 where appropriate. However, there are exceptions.

Some morphs do not work well in combination with others. Most notably, some eye morphs do not work well with the Blink morphs.

Be sure to apply your facial pose before adjusting head dials. If you apply a facial pose after customizing dial settings, the customized settings will be reset by the pose.

I hope everyone has fun with them. I still think it is one of the funnest morph sets I ever did. :)

@Capsces Thanks so much for the information! I installed via DIM and checked the list of installed files and didn't see a readme for it. I found the one for Melody for A3, with all encoding and decoding info, which was very confusing (nothing on using the morphs in that one.)

I'll add this to my personal notes, which I'm keeping in the ReadMe folder. The morphs work beautifully when they're loaded the right way.

@donavancolbert - you don't need to decode or encode anything for Melody for A3. The ReadMe for her is very old. Just follow Capsces' instructions above. The folders should be in your Poser Runtime location, which is usually under My DAZ Library\Runtime\Libraries. If you don't see the folder, make sure the package is installed too.

I was wondering about the mention of rtencoder. I've got a handful of things that require the use of that, and I can't find it for download anywhere, or an online translator either. When you go to the site of the guy who I guess developed that, his website just says something about how he is back in development and it should be coming soon? It seems like that site has been saying this for at least 9 months.
Is there anywhere you can actually get rtencoder? One of my biggest frustations with Studio and 3D rendering is when I want to something that would still be useful but I can't because some utility, morph package, or other essential component of getting that done has disappeared off the face of the Internet. I've never encountered that as often in any other kind of technology as with Studio.

I believe once Melody and Micha were brought to DAZ, they were edited so they no longer needed RTEncoder to be properly installed.  I suspect the instructions were not properly updated to omit references to that tool.

Of course, I could be wrong.  Capsces can hopefully clarify any confusion on that issue.

Oops!  I see you were referring to other items that require it.  English Bob of Morphography provided a "Wayback" link to a hopefully viable download.  Here's that link.

So Genesis 1 shoes is a wrap as in "Don't get those!"?/

There's a whole rack of Victoria 3 shoes....

    What to do about those?

Skip them unless you are using them on V3. from my experience (and I am a heel fan) shoes do not transfer to other figures well.

I don't have any CDI directories related to these characters in the locations mentioned - I got the bundle, but nothing else. I'm assuming that I just didn't buy enough? :)

  • Saving a Custom Character?

You could apply your morph then export your shape as an object file - bring it back into to studio with morph loader pro & save as a support asset - You then have a slider for your character

I'll try it and see what happens.  Thanks!

  • Dynamic cloth simulation does not show in Realty 3D

If you go to the 'Dynamic Clothing' panel and click on the dropdown options (arrow and lines, usually at top right), there should be an option to freeze the simulation. After that you'll end up with a morph per frame, which chanegs with the animation playback. Not saying that's the issue solved, and bear in mind you'll lose the simulation setup, but you can save the dynamic properties under the main 'File' menu before you run 'freeze simulation'.

I've been waiting for the Fabiana set to show up since her Shader/stockings product came out over on Rendo.

I remember a similar morph product from her for V4 called Wild Butterflies, which I ended up using a lot.

  • Hair issues with fantasy ears

    Two options:

    • in the Parameters pane option menu (lined button in the top corner, or right Click the tab) enable Show Hidden Parameters, then select the hair, find the ear morph, and zero it
    • on the base figure, click the gear icon on the morphs slider and select Parameter Settings, then uncheck AutoFollow - if the hair has already picked up the morph select it and go to Edit>Figure>Clear Generated Morphs.

  • Bought Melody 2...now, how do I use it?

Thanks all...But, there don't appear to be any pose controls.  Has anyone used this particular model?

I can get the head loaded onto V4, but it is a geograft type prop, rather than a head morph.  If you move V4 without parenting the head, she'll pop out of it like she is wearing a mascot suit.  So, it doesn't actually use V4 expressions as far as I can tell.  This surprised me...I thought it was a morph rather than a separate item.  Maybe it isn't meant to use expressions?

It is not.  It is a completely different set of geometry.  As such, only Melody2 expressions, morphs, etc. will work on it.

  • Killer Legs Morphs for Genesis 3 Female(s)

Nice morphs! These are pretty useful considering how shins and calves can look pretty disproportionate after much intricate leg dialing with other morph sets. Though, I do hope that there will be a thigh version to go with this in the works.

Not me, this package really misses the mark IMO with so little to add for the price. If They do come out with addons for the thighs, the knees, the feet, then the total cost to get the actual legs reworked will be out of reach for most. If anything, for the price it should have had fixes for the thighs and knees included. Looking at the promos, I really see little benefit since I can get decent results already with DAZ morphs and shape shift.

They should probably change the name to "killer calf morphs" LOL.

  • Holy Goats!

They are cute but no longer buy critters with painted on hair.

Yeah, the leg props look great.  But, if I'm going to the expense, I'd rather have some modeled or fiber fur on them.  Thumbs up on the horns and antlers.

Question:  Are the horns / antlers interchangeable for use on either G3M or G3F?...I mean if I want antlers on the male and vice versa?

Yes, they are.  The legs are too, but you'll need to manually hide all the human leg segments.  Even the spots will transfer over, as they're LIE.  Here's Gwenbleiz with the Fawna set.

  • Hair issues with fantasy ears

Some hairs also have an elf ear morph built into their morphs so check for that and dial it down, if not....

Make sure you have hidden parameters turned on in the parameters dropdown menu then with the hair selected look through the morphs for anything elf ear or possibly orc head shape and dial that down. If it is a head morph and you do not want to dial it down because it gives odd/negligible results you can try a workaround by selecting your main figure and adding a small amount, say 1% of an elf ear shape to the figure, then go back to the hair parameters and that 1% elf ear should now show up, try dialing that down into the negatives to get a similar hair unmorphing effect, works sometimes.
