  • morphs that show genesis 3 female ribs

There is a body morph resource kit that I bought recently that has 4 rib morphs in it:

    • Ribcage Tighten 01
    • Ribcage Tighten 02
    • Ribs Define
    • Ribs Skinny

    https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-female-body-morph-resource-kit-3

I haven't got a chance to try it out yet, but I bought it for that purpose, the skinny rib look. I bought so much stuff during MM, that I'm behind on testing everthing. I'll try to post a render tomorrow (well actually later today) to see what results I get with it.

  • Her unique mouth

The lip shape should be do-able with the proper morph packages for the figure. But the asymmetry would require specialty morphs or modelling. The dimples are more problematic - you could get partway there using a morph package, but you'll need to do the rest in a modelling program to get them just right.

  • D-formers does not work on Daz Studio 4.9
Genesis is the mesh. When adding a deform you must select the figure not the body part as this is not part of the Geometry. It's always been the case when using the dformer on genesis. When you do get on then you have to move the field to the body part you want to morph and resize to the area you want affected. It still works for me, even in 4.9. Also after you are finished and satisfied make sure you select the figure before you spawn and not the deform as it won't do anything unless the object is selected and not the former. It will ask if you want to include other morphs before it creates the morph and the dial. That's when you know its working my friend.

This can't be true.  Watch this tutorial. She clearly adds a d-form to the abdomen, i.e. the abdomen is selected in the scene.

  • Centaur 7

I'm pretty blase about the gender, given you can use GenX2 and various stuff to turn a male centaur into a female.

Big question is whether there's a 'mare' morph for the horse bits.

Well, there's no mare morph, but there is a gelding morph and that gets rid of the beans, but not the frank.

  • Saving LIE presets

Using LIE Presets will also save a temporary file of the base map with the preset added.  Once you use it go to the surfaces and on the map that you used the LIE preset on, click on the map itself and it should have a label independant of the original.  Say...you have a face map labeled Face_1.jpg.  The LIE Preset map would be Face_1 with no .jpg after the naming convention.  If you select Browse as if you were going to change it out, you'll be directed to the folder where the LIE map is now located.  Copy it, and transfer it to you character folder.  Viola.  Insta map.

  • Will's Freebies

You know, I was grousing about the limitations of 'no HD morphs' and model sculpting Daz imposes, but I'm realizing I don't think I have a powerful enough machine to handle high end models anyway, and I definitely don't have the best tools for that.

So, hey, Base morph + texture seems to be the ticket...

  • Wow, I've been slimed...

Some of them don't look very good on shapes that diverge from the base figure.  A lot of the geometry ended up under the skin of Rune 7 for the Stretching one.  I don't know if there's some morphing/rigging magic and trickery that can be done to create a projection morph based on the delta between a character morph, say Rune 7 in this case, and the base G3F that can push the geometry away by that delta.  Maybe an expert could chime in...  Trying to apply a smoothing modifier was a no go as it blew up the normals and left geometry under the skin.  Push modifier was also not satisfactory.

  • Morphs and injection help

I got Mv, S4 and Freak and I downloaded the morphs as well, but nothing seems to work, there's no morph options to see when I click on said figures......what am I missing?

Also, what is a 'power loader'

and what is form m4, for example

studiocf and what is pupperteer studiocf?

I'm using the older Daz3, by the way.

    Thanks for any help :D

  • Wow, I've been slimed...

Well the poses alone look quite interesting, and seem to be well done.

The poses are great, but the slime does not fit to the model if she has additional morphs, because the slime does not scale with the character.

I hope there is a fix for this as I REALLY want to get this, but i never use a default figure.

The slime could not really have been implemented as a conforming figure, given how often it pulls a long way off the figure, and even more tricky when the slime from the hand and body join up, so realistically they had to be props. As such it is not a matter of waiting for a fix, but living with the limitations that the necessary implementation supplies. Natually you can still morph the face in most cases, and where the slime only touches the feet or hands, morphs to the other body parts may be possible, though some translation of the slime following this could be needed.

Well if that is the case (which I doubt) that makes it VERY limiting in uses. I just bought and and while it works as advertised, I don't want to use a default figure, so unless I can find a way to rig it where it will conform to morphs, I'll probably have to return it.

Oh, i am very surprised, because the Horrible Slime ( https://www.daz3d.com/sf-horrible-slime-iray ) uses a conforming figure without any problems.

The slime suit is conforming, but from the description of the product, the slime objects themselves are props, same as this product. However for the sf-horrible-slime the props do have morphs, which would help them work with different body shapes.

  • Real World Spacesuits for Genesis 3

There's a pretty nice M3 Apollo spacesuit that can be adapted to G3 using the various clone products. You have to modify the weightmaps for the rigid parts like the neckring, etc. Alternatively, repose the spacesuit, tweak with deformers, export and reimport an obj, and use the transfer utility on the imported obj, but you'd still need to make sure the neck ring weightmapping only applies to the upper chest.

    https://www.daz3d.com/m3-space-suit

That sounds great. Can you point us to a tutorial on how to modify weight maps for DAZ Studio? If not, then your suggestions are pretty much useless for most of us.

  • I'm Considering Starting All Over With Daz Studio

I'm very glad that I had my new PC (a custom job) built with a 256GB SSD to put the OS and Daz Studio on, with 2 4TB SATA hard drives to hold all the data. I hooked up the new PC to the old one with an Ethernet cable and was able to transfer directly from machine to machine, putting the runtime on one HD and the zipped files on the second one, without needing the intervention of an external drive, and virtually everything transferred properly except for a few unzipped files in the zips directory that had too-long filenames. My old PC had two 2TB HD's and I was starting to run seriously low on space after five years of using it and some 4 1/2 years of running Daz.

  • Reorganize Shaping Dials

The grouping is saved with the morph, so if you save your version over the original and there's an update to the product the moprh comes with you will get the original (or updated by the venmdor) grouping back. If you save as a scene or preset that won't happen, but you also won't get any benefits from updates to the product.

  • How do you ZERO a Pose (for real)

That expand from selection should not be necessary, if you select the hand then r/click on the hand in the scene tab (not the viewport)  and choose 'select children' it should select all the bones from the hand down to all the finger bones (including anything parented to the hand, which sometimes does weird things when zeroing so I often deselect (cntrl-lclick) the item, gun, sword, whatever before zeroing) whether you have the selection expanded or not. You can also just expand from the hand so you do not have pages of bones to scroll through, just the hand and fingers.

You could also try using a zero hand pose, easiest imho to use smart content for this, pose>by region>hand.

And last tip, in case u werent aware, if you do have pose controls applied to the hand or whatever, you can zero them by alt/lclicking on the morph value directly rather than manually and tediously typing or dialing in zeros. If you select 'currently used' at the top of the parameters tab it will show you all the non-zero dials currently applied to your character (or selected item), makes it easier to find things.

    Very beautiful image! Great colors!

Thanks so much!  I love that Boho Garden.  I think the colors are great.  They work well with the iReal Animated Butterflies.   I need to explore and see what the whisps look like.  The rest of the colors I chose a little muted to let the colors in the pillows and the butterflies really pop. I was really surprised at the nice morphs for the Lothriel Outfit.  There was a kneeling morph that worked well with my pose.

I played with filter forge during teh 30 day free trial, but I didn't really have time to get into it enough so found it a bit confusing...

you and Sonja are making me want those butterflies! lol

I like it.  I use it a lot for some of the NPR filters.  I did the framing for Aiko's Butterflies in there.  It was Watercolor Frame.  I thought it worked out rather well with my picture.  The butterflies are awesome!

  • AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO? PARTE UNDICI
