Bypassing bones limits
Morph or pose? It sounds like the latter. If so then there is an option in Edit>Preferences>Content to control how poses that exceed limits are handled (by default you should be asked, but that can be turned off).
Bypassing bones limitsI'm creating some morphs from script and use DzNode.getYPosControl().setIsClamped(false) to bypass bones translation limits.
Everything works as expected, except that when I'm applying the morph on a freshly loaded figure, limits are still honored.
Unclamping doesn't seem to be part of the frozen properties of ERC freezer.
Is there a way to have unclamping embedded in my morphs or some alternatives (apart from manual settings) ?
what do i need to do to replicate this?If you actually want dimples, https://www.daz3d.com/face-morph-kit-for-genesis-9 has cheek dimples too.
what do i need to do to replicate this?Like Buccal Depression or sort of commonly-seen Cheeks Depth / Cheeks Lower Depth / Cheeks Sink in DS ~ If you have 200 Plus for G9 or VINME, or dial official morph Cheek Sink and tweak the cheeks height ~~
what do i need to do to replicate this?Zev0's Aging Face Details has versions of those lines https://www.daz3d.com/aging-face-details-hd-for-genesis-9
He doesn't call them anything special, though. The morphs are just listed as "AFD Mouth 01" through "AFD Mouth 12". There's a separate morph called "AFD Mouth Corner Folds HD" that's just for the corners of the mouth; those corner ones would otherwise be called "Marionette lines", I think.
what do i need to do to replicate this? Those would likely be called dimples. I don't know, if any of the morph names in that pack correspond to that though.

Is there a facial morph add on pack that might do it? Something in https://www.daz3d.com/police-artist-for-genesis-9 perhaps? (Sorry I don't have it so can't check, but might be worth a look?)
yes i have a good few facial morph packs, not that one though. but i'm looking for someone to tell me for certain what it would be under before i get it

Looking for some accessories and scene locationsHi, I’m looking for some accessories for some scenes (G8 / G9). I’m having some troubles finding them, maybe people know some bundles that may contain them.
- Oval dust mask (not surgical mask): something like this
- Surgical gloves. I have the one contained in this bundle (Crime Scene Analysis : Ultimate Bundle) but they are very old and sometimes when I use some morph they break a bit. I’d like to know if there is a more recent product for newer models.
- Female wrist watches: I currently have this one (Stylish Watches for Genesis 8 Female) and I wonder if there more models
I’m looking for some japane locations that can be ready to use
- Offices with halls and corridors (with fornitures)
- Apartments with fornitures, stairs and everything else
- Some public japanese public places (cinema, pubs, malls, parking loots, etc…)
Thank you
Render your buys! Use buys from the current month and the previous month of salesThe best time of a working day is the moment between ending a nice meal and paying it, when you can enjoy a good book with (or without frankly) your favourite beverage, and that's exactly what Mira is doing in this render:

Two newly bought product
- the very nice dForce Chic Jacket Dress for Genesis 9 by outoftouch, for which I created a CBS for Mira 9, before setting a timelined simulation which processed smoothly. I just had to raise the SubD render level to get smooth shadows.
- Mira's pose is from the SE Sushi Lover Poses for Genesis 9 (barely modified, I though I would need to tweak it more, but picking a sushi or grabing a cup of beverage while reading a book are apparently more similar than I originally though)
Newly used but in my library for a while are
- Trekking Bike and Poses for Genesis 8
- Formal MEGA Wardrobe for Genesis 8 Female(s) (it's nice, but the way the various items are fitting together is still a bit perplexing: I think it's done using a combination of morphs and opacity maps)
- Iconic Style Outfit Bag and Heels for Genesis 8 Females (I only used the bag)
I have a list of all products used (thank to the extractor created for Chromium by someone whose name is escaping me right now) and will share it once the gallery is back, but if something is striking your fancy, ask away.
If it's useful to someone else, the Chic Jacket Dress simulation was done starting from the default pose, with no key applied to Mira (her position is only set at frame=0). I made copies of the chair and table to use in the simulation, then moved them out of the way at frame 0:
- the copy of the chair started behind her and lower than it is on the render (the goal was to mimick the way someone wearing a dress will usually use their hands to keep the dress close to their legs while they are sitting) and ended in it's definitive position at Frame 15 (out of 30). I had to tweak its starting position to allow it to catch the dress as I intended.
- the copy table started on her left before sliding back to it's original position (except for the height, because I did the simulation without the tablecloth, so I raise the table a bit to avoid the sleeves clipping too much inside the tablecloth).
Once I was happy with the result, and because I hate working with a timeline active in a scene with the burning passion of an infinite number of suns, I used the ever useful dForce Archmage to extract the morph at the end of the simulation before applying it at the beginning of it and voila, no more timeline

No clue. I'm just pointing out the slim difference. I'm still considering returning MB Danniela over this BS.

Horror/Weapon Geografts and morphs G8/G9?Just wondering what's out their to give a character an axe for a hand or chainsaw or scissor hands, things of that nature, for Halloween ideas of course. I'm interested in geografts that can have materials like a steel axe and wood handle, or even just geografts that give a shape, so like the arm could morph or graft to something, and I'd just apply my own shaders for ghastly or metal effects.
I know there are plenty of pumpkin heads. I'm personally leaning towards arm ideas. Thanks.
Also this pic could be one such example too, like tentacle weapons or appendages.
how do people simulate broken bones?Hi, everybody,
I hope I'm in the right category of threads for this. I don't see any Daz store products (or elsewhere) offering solutions for what I'm after so I thought I'd ask here. I'm mostly using G8 figures these days. I'm not looking to show the most severe type of broken bones, in which they're exposed to the air, but there must be a way to morph a broken nose or femur or hip or anything, right? So I'm just wondering if there are ready-made solutions for this that I'm missing. Something mimicking the real world would be preferable. DIY solutions would be interesting too. Thanks as always!

Let's appreciate/discuss today's new releases - ongoinger still further threadAs I was going through my promo pages I printed off, I got to https://www.daz3d.com/hand-shadow-poses-for-victoria-9 and found there was an Asian, kindergarten-age morph for G9. And she has poses!
I would also like to appreciate @aurora's documentation of not only her products but additional products used. She has done a great job with HINTS on posing her characters with the props. This is after looking at all the bundles in her store that I had not noticed before, it is not just a one-time thing, she routinely does this for all her products.
Because of this, I ended up buying four bundles by her and seven individual items from other PAs.
I also love that she has a great sense of humor and reality in all the poses.

Would you disagree to the following query response:
"The primary difference between Genesis 9 and Genesis 8 breast rigging lies in the shift from gender-specific separate skeletons and dedicated pectoral/breast bones to a unified, androgynous base mesh that often relies on morph-driven or corrective-based soft tissue control rather than separate dedicated chest bone hierarchies. [1, 2]
I would absolutely disagree, because all of the split Genesises have identical skeletons on both genders. There is no principle of gender specific skeletons; both the men and women figures have had pectoral posing.
(totaling ~170 bones in G8 compared to Genesis 9's 138-bone unified skeleton)
The bone count difference is almost entirely in the face, because G8 had things like three bones for each eyelid plus an additional one for the inner and outer corners, rather than one for the upper and one for the lower. (It was actually a ridiculous number).
Disregarding everything after the head bone (i.e. all the face and ear rigging), G8 has 93 bones in the body. G9 has 101 bones in the body. While their hierarchy is reorganised, these are essentially the exact same bones as before. The difference is now including master bones for each of the upper and lower arms and the thighs, and the new anchor bones in the hand, which accounts for all the additional 8 bones. None of these new bones have any weights, they are just used for the new organisation of the heirarchy.
Other than branching the limb twist bones off rather than having them in a chain, the only other significant change to the way that G8 and G9 are rigged is that the foot and metatarsal weight regions have been exchanged. (I'm really not sure why).
The faces are different, but the bodies really aren't.

Whatever issue you are having, it is not because G9 has a fundamentally different skeleton or weightmaps, because it doesn't; they are actually really very similar.

- Bone vs. Morph/Pose Control: While Genesis 8 relied heavily on traditional joint rotation and localized bone weight mapping for chest and pectoral movement, many Genesis 9 workflows (such as Breast Control for Genesis 9) use advanced corrective blend shapes and dedicated pose morphs to handle gravity and deformation dynamically instead of depending purely on pectoral bone flexing. [1]"
Funny to see it using Breast Control as an argument for "G9 needs to use morphs for breasts" when Zev0 has produced a "Breast Control" morphs pack for every Genesis figure since G1, and the G8 and G3 versions basically provide the same morphs as the G9 one...
Genesis 10Try searching for Breast in the shop. There are just as many breast morph assets for G8 as there are for G9. And there are a similar number (but fewer) for older gens. Anagord has like 10 morph packs exclusively for G8. If the controls were so good in non-G9 era stuff, how would that make sense?
It isn't a terminology issue. It's an AI issue. Check the sources. I checked your links. None of them talk about morphs being necessary in G9.
