Crow/Raven tattoo ?

If you don't mind making your own, there are some free and non-free brushes for Photoshop, Gimp, etc over at Deviantart. I've used a few of these over the years, just not for tattoos. They would certainly work for LIE images and Decals.
Thanks for the link ! I guess I can do that, I don't think I need a product to make LIE myself ?

DAZ, Where's My Metadata?! (Answered Though not Solved)memcneil70 said:
The best metadata tutorial I found that managed to get through to my brain was by SloshWerks, https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=FQQ9uLhMSKQ. It is older and if you search on the web for 'how to install metadata in DAZ3d' you can come up with a variety of other offerings, some newer that I haven't looked at. They might be more relevant for you now.
Thank you, I'll watch it and see how it goes from here

How to create "pose control" for a rigged prop ?Hello,
I added a couple of bones to the European Bike (following a tutorial by Jay Versluis): one for the stand, one for the saddle and one for the flowers (I don't want to move them, but placing them on a bone made hidding them easier and faster than searching for the surface panel). The base product has pose controls for its various bones and I wanted to add controls for the stand and saddle bones I added.
In a way, the end game is to have pose to control to get a parked pose looking like the one on the following picture, and being able to have a pose control moving the saddle while dialing in the lenght morph on the saddle bar (created with Hexagon) (but that second part is for another day, even if I'm taking any advice on the subject too
):
As the saying goes, you need to learn to walk before learning to run, so I started by trying to create a pose control for the stand rotation and I watched this video by Josh Darling:
It's for Genesis and following the video at least until clicking on ERC Freeze with a Genesis figure seems to work but with the bike, it doesn't and I didn't find other videos or tutorials on the subject (I likely don't know what key words to use to search for others in the first place), so it's your collective lucky day: I need your help

(Because I learned it the hard way when creating the morph on the saddle bar with Hexagon, I made sure to restore the figure pose on the bike: it's sitting at world center and every bones is set as they are by default when the bike is loaded)
Here's how the bike look when I'm clicking on ERC Freeze (it also show the bones hiearchy if it's useful). X-Rotate is limited between 0 and -110:

To show a bit more detail, with the joint editor tool active:

And here's how the ERC Freeze windows look:

I tried creating a new property (following the video) but add every selected freeze property and try to dial the resulting control slider, the stand starts and ends where it should, but any other step is wrong (when rotating the stand bone around the X axis, everything looks fine), as show on this screenshot (the stand is not connected to the bike anymore) and other bones are moving too (without moving the part of the bikes linked to these bones but I suppose it'll be problematic later if I tried to use these bones later):

If someone has an idea to fix that problem, I'm all ears

Ok, I need to dig deeper...
Are these problems happening due to settings in my browser or something else?

Creating a database to track Daz content and/or just using the tools inside Daz betterechristopherclark said:
Aside from working on a gigantic wall of traditional text vs a comic, that is exactly what my driving purpose was. I have this sprawling story that takes place across vastly different locations so I fell into a habit of buying stuff thinking, 'Oh I could use this and that part of that outfit for the part of the story that takes place at location A..." and then I couldn't find them later. Hence why I had a clear image of each separate garment and a separate searchable record for each part of an outfit.
Ha! I can soooooo relate. That's exactly what I end up doing. I'm thinking that your method of an external database is probably what I need to go with.
That said, I'm an uber-nerd for people's organizational systems, so I'm game to keep hearing from any/all about how you/they organize!
I second that, I am super interested as well. I have been toying around with my own database/spreadsheets for this for a while. While I didn't work with creating databases for a living, I did work with creating pretty elaborate spreadsheets through my jobs. Right now I am just using a spreadsheet to track what I have purchased/invoices, etc.
I wish I could create a way to view all of the items in some sort of visual database, so that I can scroll through something, similar to the online product library, with pages of pictures of the items, but with additional details and my own custom tags. I did toy around with creating a pdf version of the online product library pages--like searchable pdf book--that helped some, --of course I never finished this as this became daunting especially when you add several pages to the library after a sale
@paulawp (marahzen) I did check out your screenshots of your Access database and I like that. I would like to do something along those lines. Of course this is so time consuming and I have spent a good amount of time just organizing/backing up content in the event of a crash.Creating a database to track Daz content and/or just using the tools inside Daz betterI started with an Excel spreadsheet, but I'm a very visual person, so just seeing the list of names didn't mean much to me. So I switched to a solution that's probably not elegant, but it's working well for me.
I have separate .doc files for various categories, depending on how I need to search for things. For example:
props - food/drink
props - decoration
props - furniture
wearables - footwear
wearables - accessories
wearables - dresses
wearables - separates (fantasy)
wearables - separates (modern)
poses - couples
poses - casual
poses - action/combat
poses - expressions
shaders - fabric
shaders - other
.... you get the drift.and then each asset listed in the file has:
asset name (title)
relevant keywords (subtitle)
file path to find it in Daz (because let's face it, some of those assets get put in places you'd never look for them)
web url
as many pictures as seem necessaryThe files each have a table of contents inserted at the beginning with the asset name and keywords, so I can easily scan
....now, granted, one asset is often in several files, but I was kind of stunned how many rugs I actually had (or apples? why does everyone on the planet include an apple??) and now I can see with minimal effort what's available and where I have gaps.
It hasn't been too bad to keep up with once I got through my backlog, but I'm also on a limited budget, so it's not like I have a lot to input on a regular basis, either.
Hope this helps, either as-is or to inspire you to something more suitable to your own methods. :)
Creating a database to track Daz content and/or just using the tools inside Daz betterThis thread has what I wrote up a while back. I never finished this project, of course.
Is it normal for the visibility of shells reset when you use certain tools?Hello!
When I choose certain tools such as the "geometry editor tool", and then go back to a more basic tool such as the "node selection tool", the visibility of the shells of all models in the scene "reset", in a way.
I need to manually make certain areas of the shells invisible again to avoid conflicts.
Is this the expected behavior of DAZ Studio, or am I making an amateur mistake?Thank you.
Note: I'm sure this question has been asked before, but the forum search is kind of bad and I decided to ask it again, if you don't mind.
EDIT: damn... I posted in the wrong forum...
Creating a database to track Daz content and/or just using the tools inside Daz betterDoes anyone have any experience in developing a spreadsheet or database to track their Daz purchases? And if so, do you have any tips and/or best practices?
I ask because I'm considering creating a database external to Daz itself. The reasons:
- Search within the app often doesn't turn up what I'm looking for, so I end up going to the store webpage and searching there. And given that I've spent way too much on Daz already over the years and that I'm prone to throwing money at problems (even if it's money I shouldn't be spending), avoiding using the store as my search engine feels like a bad option.
- I've tried several times to use the tips outlined in the Daz Studio Content Library tutorial by Ice Dragon Art but I always stop because I feel I'm going to do all that work and then lose it the next time I have a computer crash or have to move to a new machine. This method also ends up feeling like it doesn't work as well with Smart Content as I'd like, and I use that a lot (though maybe I shouldn't?).
- I've also tried several times to use the tips outlined in Smartening Up the Daz Studio Database, but always stop for similar reasons. I don't have any faith that the work I do will get backed up and survive if I have to re-install. The process also ends up feeling so cumbersome that I end up going back to the Ice Dragon Art tutorial instead.
I guess what it comes down to is that I don't know how to access all 5,000+ items I own in a more efficient manner, especially so that I stop buying stuff and only realizing later that I already own something that would do the trick.
How are you keeping your own Daz content organized? Do you use Smart Content? The content library? Some other organizational setup entirely? What are your best practices?

So if there are nude promos now, can we post tasteful nudes in the gallery??? (asking for a friend, LOL)
Currently the gallery and forum ruls are unchanged - and changing them would of course require a way of applying a filter similar to that in the store, which would be two lots of fairly substantial coding since (as far as I am aware) the galeries and forums use different systems..

Carmel has a problem with some of the Mat files but works fine other wise.
I don't have access to Yomi but from what I've seen here it looks like 3 files were copied from Carmel, and thanks to the hex codes it's a lot more complicated than just changing the internal names from Carmel to Yomi.
Not sure what you mean. I just did a search & replace in the file, and Yomi works fine for me now.
Can someone remind me how to fix the OOT hair crash?I remember that there was a texture being used in some material channel that was causing a crash, but I don't remember which one to remove. I looked for the old forum topic but couldn't find it, so if anyone has a link or remembers the particulars, it would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Face the camera script? Are yiou intending to write it yourself? If so, see below - if not, please edit your opening post and chnage the forum to Product Suggestions.
Getting the location of the current viewpoint is fairly simple - you just need to chug through the MainWindow global object to getViewportMgr(), then from that getActiveViewport(), then from that get3DViewport(), then from that getCamera(). Once you have the camera you can get its location from the general DzNode getXPosControl() etc., and getValue() on those. For the billboard(s) you shoudl be able to use Scene.getSelectedNodeList() and plod through them getting their positions as you got the camera position, then you need to do a bit of maths to figure out which way they should face, then use getXRotControl() to get the rotations controls and setValue( number ) on those to set the rotations.

@SilverGirl Here's another one! It doesn't come up on a "piano" search either, even though "piano" is in the text of the promo page four times.
