Borgia's Opulent Hall Courtyard Expansion(Commercial)On Sale
After installing the bundle, i had to reinstall the Hall, in order for it to show up under smart content (with content, just reimporting metadata resulted in a mostly empty product for me).
I'm quite confident that i loaded the hall successfully earlier on, but can't tell when exactly stuff broke, because there has been a couple of days/weeks between.

Not reliably - Daz Studio should import Motion Build FBX fiels, but unfortunately most other applications are a bit off and so do not product good results. Only morphs, or an OBJ and Transfer Utility if the overall shape is more-or-less unchanged, will get a rigged result.
But importing in Blender, and exporting from it, don't change the Groups?
Groups wouldn't matter for either of those methods, but I think the answer would eb that it depended on your import/export settings and on the tools used in Blender.

Auto Metadata update upon startup (SOLVED)Hi all
I have resolved my Postgr & cms warning / metadata issue by moving all my DAZ assets into a folder and not leave it in Root directory on my NAS device. It's as if it doesn't like looking for the assets in root.
This fixed both PC issue's.
Insane long delay when saving a new sceneThanks, Richard. I installed a few products in the available pane and they are taking as long as a new install. Is there some way to just relink or connect DS with the content that's already there (in D:\media\DAZ3D Connect Library\data)? I've also noticed that there are hundreds of products in smart content/installed that are showing as needing to be installed. And a few of the products I've just reinstalled are now showing as needing an update. This is a mess. I'm a PA and this is stalling my work. I have started a ticket but it was not a PA ticket as this is not related to content creation.

This has been bugging me for weeks! The suggestion mentioned here to: Content Database Maintenance, Reset Database (with Export User Data checked), and then Re-Import Metadata worked to save new scenes faster.
But now my Daz Connect Folder is gone from Content Library pane and over two thousand products are now showing as ready to install in smart content. This problem (I traded one for another) feels familiar but it's been years since I faced it.
This didn't work: https://www.versluis.com/2022/11/restoring-smart-content-and-resetting-the-content-database-in-daz-studio/
The database is the only record of what has been installed through connect, wiping it removes the record. In theory reinstalling shpul;d be faster as DS will see the existing files and that they match the current versions, but it still takes a while. Connect does make sense as an install method when using different sets with their own databases, but not when the database is expected to be reset.
baked morphsI have a creation that I want to sell. Problem is that 1 of the 2 OBJ files created might have baked in morphs from G8. So what I am wondering, is there a way to tell via the OBJ file or the Dsf/duf files if there is any baked in morphs that shouldn't be there.
I remember using Note pad at one point and tried that, there is only cords for the mesh I am assuming. There is no text. I do remember once doing the same and removing any text that said it used G8 dials. Saved the OBJ again and when I loaded it in via import I was able to see the changes by doing so.
Any helpful hints would be great as this is the first release and I don't want to muck it up.
Note* niether morph is registering an error in the Daz log file for duplicate errors.
Cheers
By chance anyone know these horns?DarkElegance said:

Moved to Product Suggestions as it is not a Daz Studio application question.
But..its not a product suggestion. Its asking what the product it...from the daz store..for dazstudio....
Product Suggestions is also used for in search of posts, since a lot of suggestions do get pointers to existing content as a rply. In any event, a question about content is not a question about the application - especially with the various import options for .duf files.

Unisntalled files are no longer on your computer, that's what uninstalling is for.
Why do i still see the black and white thumbsThe "All" subtab in the list of products will display all products it has metadata for, even if they're not installed. If you log in to DS, it should display all the products you have in your daz3d account.
If you only want to see the ones which are installed you can select the "Installed" subtab.
Scrip transformationMoved to Technical Help as it is not a Daz Studio scripting topic.
I assume you mean content installers? Redownload, for items that were in the store. The free-to-download items, such as the old weekly freebies, you would have to run the isntaller then zip up the result (and add metadata etc. if desired - that copuldn't be automated even if the instalaltion could).
How to create new conforming accessories for G8/9I am not aware of any documentation.
For modelling clothing and (rigged) accessories you want to model towards the base character, so when you import your object it will fit the character.
I think I have seen a product in the store describing the process, but can't remember.
How to create new conforming accessories for G8/9Thanks, but is there somewhere documentation on the whole process? How should you prepare the mesh, how to import it... if you'd like to become a vendor for instance you must know all that..

TBH problems with downloading anything or with faulty metadata more often than not are DAZ and not PA.
Am aware, but if the PA goes to Daz and says "hey, my product appears to be broken for some people, could you check on that?" there is much more of a chance that Daz will actually look at the problem than if one of us schlubs reports it. For that matter, even though forum policy is very clearly "Daz tech does not read these forums, the only official channel for a bug report is the ticketing system," the odds of them doing something about it if a forum moderator sees the problem and reports it to them are higher than if we file a ticket.
I'm trying to phrase this in a way that doesn't sound like unconstructive criticism, so how about if we call it personal opinion, which might be safe enough to pass: I have lost all confidence, speaking only personally, in Daz support, and I no longer file tickets, because I assume they will just go unhandled. The only tickets I have ever had any sort of reasonably good or diligent service on in the past year are refund requests.

It looks like you didn't merge the rigs. Then for most shoes there's a shoe pose to load.
- import the figure in rest pose
- merge rigs
- load figure pose
- load shoe pose
Ok, I'll give that a try.

I can't seem to get this facial hair to convert: https://www.daz3d.com/cc-beard-boss-for-genesis-8-males
It does "open" after select and when pressing convert it's zero convert.
And the log is this:Input Filename does not have "hair" in its path: C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/People/Genesis 8 Male/Anatomy/CC Beard Boss for Genesis 8 Male/CC Beard Boss for Genesis 8 Male - Base.duf
I've tried copying the beard folder into the hair as this one is in Anatomy folder for a reason. But in the "hair" the beard doesn't even gets recognised by the script!?
I am sure that is because Daz has no metadata for that file in the new location. From the manual:
The Hair Converter dialog does not show some hair items when adding to the list. The Hair Converter script automatically filters out all presets that do not have a content type of Follower/Hair. This is by design to avoid unknown files as this script has been carefully crafted to try and convert hair without errors as much as possible. If you are absolutely positive that a file is a hair item, you can turn off the Check Content Type option and use the Add Files… button to add those files. If you turn this option off, any file will be added. On execution, the script will load the file, whatever it is and whatever it does. The script will still only convert items that are hair on execution. Turning this option off is ONLY recommended if you are having trouble getting the script to recognize specific hair files.
What to do?
I would guess that the script doesn't see any length to the base shape and can't convert it because of that. I modeled the beard flat and then added morphs to lengthen various parts of it. You should be able to simply autofit it to G9 without a template selected and it should follow properly. It won't have the added functionality of this converter of course, but the shapes should all still work. The same with the Shave This set.
