[Released] Content Wizard [Commercial]
I am trying to figure out how to fix/restructure files that do not import correctly. I can have some Renderosity vendors files install perfect and then others hangup on the Smart Content Install. Help me understand how this file gets created under the Support folder that is not there during the install for some reason when I use Content Wizard Install?

Daz Studio 4.12 Pro, General Release! (*UPDATED*)I used the Daz Central and I run in troubles I had to reset my PC this morning to early point , my system freak out some how shutting off and on until I get rid of everything manually, no way I could uninstall this normal way.
My old Library is on my backup HD so nothing lost. I am going to install again using DIM with the traditional path so I can make backup
Thanks for the tip
I have 2. questions , why it install outside Program Files ( unable to use my GoZ plugin ) even if I put it in the plugin folder, once I close the app it remove the plugin by it own.
My installation went into C:/Daz 3d/Applications /
very unusual location , I can't even manually remove it and my weekly software backup don;t want to include it together with my library , it just skipping the whole folder
why?
Cath
How are you installing? Are you using DIM? Did you check and verify the application instlation paths in DIM, if that is what you are using? I hope you aren't using the new Daz Central, because a lot of people have had that redefine their paths and they ended up with lots of problems.

Daz Install Manager (DIM) 1.4.0.94, Now Available! (*UPDATED*)DIM is now telling me it has to install "Alembic for DAZ..." - but when I try to install, it gives me a dialogue box requiring a path to install to - where do I put that, please? Thanks!
DAZ Studio should be listed in the Applications tab in Advanced Settings, which also display the path. If it isn't, then the path to install Alembic is (assuming you are using 64 bit)
C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins
Oh great, it refuses that path (On my computer it's F:\DAZ Programs\DAZ 2019\DAZ 410\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins - seems VERY complicated!!)...
Plus, it's suddenly decided I need a whole lot more stuff including Studio (AGAIN!), and it isn't seeing install paths for any of them! Aaargh! I'm going round in circles! I rue the day I installed Central! I think I'm just going to uninstall the whole damned lot and start again. Like I have the time! Sigh!!
Daz Central?Don't install central - for a lot of people it messes up quite a lot of things. It IS a beta ...
Are you using DIM to download? In that case you should get 118 without installing central.
Else you should be abel to download the exe from here: https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_13176
OMG, thank you so much for that direct link!! I dl the .118 zip and will guard it with my life!!. I've heard lots of ppl say say the central is messing up ds and causing lots of issues for them. I have ds set up how I want it.
DazCentral image I saw looks super kindergarten to me, so yeah, no thanks.. I just like a simple searchable product library.Daz Install Manager (DIM) 1.4.0.94, Now Available! (*UPDATED*)Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner f DIM. Select Basic Settings. It shows a link for Manifest Archive. Is that link correct? Click the link. Are your DIM manifest files there? Manifest files are DSX files that DIM saves so it knows what it has installed. If they get moved or deleted, DIM won't know what it has previously installed. If you installed Daz Central at some time, it may well have mucked with your DIM file paths. People have been screaming loudly about that problem in the forum.
Yes, it all happened after I installed Central. Suddenly Studio, Central and DIM saw different things. I have just checked the manifest folder, and only a few most recent items are in there - eeek! So the other 7800-odd installations aren't there! Did Central just remove everything in the manifest folder? Dio I have to install everything again? Thanks for your help!
See if the manifest folder which contains the files for the missing installed content exists. If it does, then move the files to the manifest folder as specified in DIM.

Daz Install Manager (DIM) 1.4.0.94, Now Available! (*UPDATED*)Well, this has stuffed up my system! It's trying to install the DAZ programs to my runtime (E: RUNTIMES) instead of where my programs are (F: Programs). I have an SSD drive as my C drive, and no matter what I do, DAZ does weird things and insists on putting files on the C Drive. This new DIM version is screwing it all up even more! I now seem to have program and library files all over my C, E and F drives. And it won't install a bunch of stuff it told me I have to have - I get the same messages someone earlier on this board did. I am struggling enough with space, I really didn't need a rogue installation. SIGH! I have to go finish a job now, will spend time later going through all the replies here. Very disheartening. :(
Install Manager or Central? If it's Install manager check the path settings
Install Manager. I have checked all the install directories, they have not changed, but still today it's reading 12 items installed (which installed just before I sent my desperate message) and 7821 to install - ie it is not looking at the correct folder for my installed items. Same issue with the Central, and in Studio I had to resolve the issue by re-importing metadata. So now I have no idea what has changed.
Is your DIM manifest archive directory correct? If you look in that folder, are all the manifest files there?
Ummmm... what am I looking for, where, please? Thanks!

Uninstall the Connect version and install using Install Manager or Daz Central, the script appears not to be written to work with Connect
Thanks - install with Daz Central also not solve my problem but it´s ok :)

Daz Central?sorry if this has already been asked/answered.
What is daz central? I keep trying to update to .118 (from .117) and it keeps taking me to a page that asks me to register or login. I login, but then it starts to download this daz central thing. I went to my product library and there it is at the top of the product list.
I don't know what's in it, I don't want it to mess up my current version of ds, and I don't want any more 'free products'. How do I just get ds .118 without central?
The benefit of DIMYes, I think so. Before you use DIM to install any products, it is important to set up the application and content paths for where you want things installed. Most people don't have infinitely large system drives and like to install content on a second hard drive. There is a gear icon in the upper right corner of the DIM window to access those settings.
- DIM has been reliable for me. I had numerous problems with Daz Connect (installing from within Daz Studio). I have not tried Daz Central, but reports in the forum are not good.
- DIM can install the main Daz program (including Beta versions) and plugins. Sometimes these are not available as manual downloads.
- Once a product is installed with DIM, if there is a product update in the future, DIM will show you that the update is available and make it easy to install that update.
- DIM will automatically install the metadata for the product. You don't have to manually update metadata.
- If a product is installed with DIM, you can right click on the product in DIM and have it show you a complete list of files included in that product and give you a link to each one of those files, so you can find it on your computer, if you need to.
- DIM has lots of search filters to find just what products you want to see in the interface.
- DIM makes it very easy to uninstall a product that you installed with DIM. You don't have to hunt around and manually remove any files.
Daz Studio remains in memoryI recently started to have this issue that when I close the main window using the X, the window closes but the program keeps running in the background, using memory and cpu time, unless I kill the task using the task manager.
Anyone else noticed this?
It was happening with both the latest release version and the one before that .117 and .118 I think.
It doesn't always behaves like this, but very frequently, about 9 out of 10 times.
It seems to have started happening after I installed Daz Central. But that might be just a coincidence.
