Smart Content Library Primary Category
A product can have assets in more than one category. When using Smart Content with something selected in the Scene, if Filter by Context is checked, it will show any and all products that have any compatible assets, as defined in the metadata. With Filter by Context unchecked, it will display virtually everything. So, yes, it can look different every time, depending on what is selected in the scene, if anything, and contextual filtering active.
Smart Content Library Primary CategoryWhat is confusing me about this is that those are Daz items installed using DIM. After I ran the metadata options, they were moved to that category.
As far as I can remember, I did not create an XXX category. I use a separate library for third-party content. The exception to that rule is I installed some items I purchased last week into the wrong directory. I rectified that issue. But even in my third-party library, I do not use XXX as a label.
Why would Daz content show up under that category?
Genesis 3 and 8 to 9 Pose Converter (Commercial)I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature.
In Daz, if I take a Generation 8 pose, apply it to my Generation 9 model and then save that pose as a preset, that pose will not work if I import it into Blender via the Daz Blender Bridge. Non-converted poses made for Generation 9 models do seem to translate well to Blender.

This isn't your converter, this is the Blender bridge, it doesn't seem to bring over saved preset poses.

importing V5Hello!!! when I import Victoria 5, by the bridge, to C4d, curiously the feet are darker, than the rest of the skin... I can't notice any difference with the set up of the shaders (I convert to corona shaders), but the feet are african, and the rest of the skin "white"; (well, pink)... is it a way to solve that? thank you for help!

Smart Content Library Primary CategoryWhat you are seeing is a Custom Category that you probably created. I have all the products visible in that screen shot, and none of them come with an XXX category. All products with metadata categorize every asset (usually) with a Default Category of some kind. (Sometimes a few miss the Default part, and many get none, which default to Lost and Found). You can create as many top-level categories as you want, and include references to anything from any content library folder you want, as many times as you want. You can copy and move custom categories around all you want without disturbing the underlying folder structure. Any assets without metadata can still be categorized from the Content Library (which would also remove them from Lost and Found).
Smart Content Library Primary CategoryI recently reloaded the metadata for my library. After doing so, there was a change to the Smart Content Library on the left-hand side. It added a category, the 'Default' and then 'XXX'.
Unfortunately, it sorted some items into the second category which I need to correct. But it got me thinking. What is it and what purpose could it serve?Instead of having multiple libraries I could just group certain items into other primary labels. This is new to me and I don't know much about it or how to use it yet. I am hoping someone will have a good reference for it that would teach me how to use it.
I appreciate any help you could offer or suggestions on how you use it personally.

you actually have to load and try the software not just buy and collect it.
I started out 13 years ago as an iClone3 user so first 3D software I ever used so I probably find it easier than DAZ studio because of that. Hard to really say, That said, I am only on iClone6.
Blender confuses me but I do use its video editor daily, I have never figured out how to install Diffeomorphic and my FBX imports iffy and Alembic imports very heavy but work (using Sagan), not found the DAZ to Blender plugin useful.
I prefer Carrara to the lot but dabble with Unreal Editor a lot too, not installed it on my computer yet since the hard drive failure a fortnight ago, not installed Poser11 or many other things yet, still cannot get smart content or metadata even working in DAZ (mainly used for the search function).
Diffeomorphic DAZ Importer version 1.6.0 releaseddo you have advice for fittin high heel shoes that I already imported characters? I mean when I import character I import morphs fix materials and keep it here. After when I want to change clothes I import another file and copy clothes than use corrections and change armature. It works well but only problem is high heeled shoes because they have pose to fit shoes. So how can I solve this without having seperate file just because I want to change shoes?

Well, my advice - assuming you want to continue using Daz Central to manage your installs - is to do the following. Note, this is a bit of an extreme approach but Connect has caused me multiple issues in the past until I did this.
- Log out of your account inside Daz Studio and ensure you stay logged out.
- Find the base path of Daz Connect and search for product references - I cannot remember the exact path but somewhere under the cloud folder is a folder of products and another with json files (these are metadata files relating to Connect)
- Within Daz Studio right click and uninstall any products that have a reference within the product folder of Daz Connect (this should delete the related product folder).
- When that folder is empty, delete it
- Then delete the folder containing the json files
- Use the Content DB Maintenance to reset your database (skip the backup first since you do not want to save the broken config).
- Use Content DB Maintenance to reimport metadata again (e.g. pull from the /Runtime/Support/*.dsx files)
Hopefully, that should give you back the same Smart Content from the last time you backed up on the old machine.
DAZ Central not recognizing assets after moving files to new computerI didn't uncheck anything for the re-import... Might it have anything to do with the DAZ Connect pathway? I was just looking at that in DAZ on the new machine, and it has a pathway to a folder on the C drive instead of the D drive.

If you reimport all the metadata it should add everything back to both tabs - you did leave everything checked in the reimport window right? You didn't unselect everything and only check UserData? You can try right-clicking on the background of the products tab and selecting refresh to see if that helps, although I thought switched between Products/Files tabs does this automatically.

I did re-import the metadata from the old machine, and saw a quite extensive list pop up of the files, and they're all there in the Smart Content, but they're not listed when I use the "Products" tab in Smart Content.... I'll open up DIM and check my paths again for the Manifest Files.

For the Smart Content that will not show up just by copying the files across - you must go into Content DB Maintenance and Re-import all the metadata. This will give you a window showing all products found under all linked base libraries and when you hit continue it will read in all the DSX files under the Runtime/Support/ folder. Depending on the number of products and your hardware this process is likely to take up quite a few minutes.

Yea, that's why there first of all should be a 'dial' of previous result, then this technique is more or less used for some special case, e.g. I use it on the simulation of self-made 'rolled sleeves' with contraction settings, etc...

Cut a hole in landscape?So geometry editor did the trick. I can highlight parts of a landscape plain and hide that geometry.
One odd part. If I import the same product again it does not appear complete, but with the same missing (visibility turned off) portions.
