I'm glad to see this thread is back again; it had disappeared yesterday afternoon.  Like many others, I had difficulties in taking advantage of the offer for free Genesis 3 items when purchasing Eyes and Expressions New Releases and items with Genesis 8.1 in the title.  I put Victoria 8.1 in my cart along with another 8.1 item to bring the cart total over $30 and then started adding items from the "Featured Genesis 3" pages. I chose items that were already on sale.  That worked fine for a while - I had added $66.94 worth of Featured Genesis 3 items to my cart and all were showing as $0.00.  Then I added one more item and suddenly none of the items werre $0.00.  I tried adding more Eyes and Expressions items to the cart but that didn't change anything.  I ended up filling my cart with slightly less than $90 of Featured Genesis 3 items and checked out.  Afterward I submitted a ticket for the $13.97 that I had been charged for the Genesis 3 items that should have been free.  How those prices were calculated is a complete mystery to me.  All in all this was a great offer, but I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out why the offer was not working above a certain amount and trying out various combinations of tiems to see if that owuld make a difference.

For photorealistic tips on Daz3D, these 52 pages are quite full of tips, tricks, advice, and techniques.

Here are a couple of tips if you want the cliff notes:

1. Use high resolution skin textures that include good details in bump, sss, normal maps. If you need a specific example, try Daz3D Victoria 7 or 8.

2. Use high quality hair on your character. If you need a specific example, try something from vendor OutOfTouch.

3. Use well crafted lighting in your scene. If you need a specific example, try something from vendor PaperTiger.

4. Play with camera and render settings. For specific examples try 50mm camera lens and Spectral Rendering on.

Tricks: If you spend the time to go through steps 1 through 4 above, you will find yourself with "something" as a result. Now take everything you learned and pick a different character, like Mousso's Louisiana HD and go through steps 2 through 4 and you will find "something different".

Advice: At that point you will be caught up to begin at Page 1 of this topic. Hopefully your curiosity will be piqued and you are excited enough to devour these 52 pages to glean the tips and tricks you may not have understood at the beginning of the journey. Everyone here will welcome your questions and discoveries that you can share.

Sorry for not replying to this one by the way, i did actually really appreciate the response, just wasn't sure how to respond xD I think the other post that i did respond to was a little easier to formulate a response to, there was a couple of points here that i responded to in that response aswell so please do consider the other response a semi-response to this aswell xD

I will note though, there was one other point here that wasn't in the other response, the camera, i just CANNOT figure out the right settings xD What does a 50mm lens look like in terms of daz settings? Are we talking going into the actual 'lens' section of the camera? Or are we talking about the 'Frame width' and 'focal length'? I'm honestly just never sure how to translate camera logic into DAZ settings :/ Could you possibly elaborate a little more for me? :3

When I installed Victoria 8.1, My Genesis 8 Starter Essentials got renamed to "Genesis 8 Male PowerPose Templates". Did this happen to anyone else? It took me a few minutes to figure out where to find the new stuff!

How about the Genesis 8.1 Female base? Which version of Daz Studio (Help>About Daz Studio)? is there anything in the log file (Help>Troubleshooting>View Log File; try opening it, then load Victoria 8.1, then go back to the log file - with luck the editor will see it has been updated and offer to reload it, at which point the end of the file will have any relevant messages.

[Victoria 8.1 crashes my program upon trying to load the figure] If anyone else is having this problem please let me know how you fixed it much obliged

You need at least the first two products (GenX2 and the Genesis 2 add-on).

You will also need these products for textures (You seem to have at least the V4 one):

The legacy shapes are not technically required, if you don't have them GenX2 will use the clone morphs included in V4 for G2F / M4 for G2M products as the base for the transfer. But they might give you better results.

I love all of my hundreds of outfits and characters for Victoria 4 and I love Daz Studio!  I used Poser exclusively until 2 years ago.

I just had one of my Marilyn Monroe morphs and textures applied to V4.  She was so pretty.  Then I looked at V4's poor little disfigured arms.

I would love for someone to tell me the latest and greatest products out there to use V4 morphs on Genesis 2.

I have "V4 Skins Auto Converter for Genesis 2 Female" which works perfectly.

The V4 clothes usually are perfect!!

What I do not have are the morphs!!!

As I understand it, I need to purchase the following products (I, also, want M4 to Genesis 2 M:)

Genesis Generation X2

GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2

Generation 4 Legacy Shapes for Genesis 2 Female(s)

Generation 4 Legacy Shapes for Genesis 2 Male(s)

So, if I buy these 4 products, I can make G2F look like my V4 characters and, also, make G2M look like my M4 characters?

I, also, use Genesis 3 and Genesis 8, however I am very happy using Genesis 2 since my V4 textures look so wonderful on Genesis 2 Female.

After reading the information in this thread again I decided to use DIM. I uninstalled Carrara then reinstalled Carrara and Victoria 4.2 with DIM and everythings works fine. Then I installed V4 Hi Res Shaders for Carrara 7 but it's not showing up in the content tab. I ran auto dectect runtimes again but no luck. Where should this have installed and am I doing something wrong.

This now looks to be fixed, a thank you to whomever 'flipped the switch'  

Since they've decided to include the vellus hair in the Michael 8.1 pack, have they've updated Victoria 8.1, by any chance?

And once again as always with a update that seems to happen every other so 4.14 rolled around and the saving then trying to render issue was gone
Now with 4.15 once again I'm back in the same annoying situation as before I planned ahead but for whatever reason the backup I have wont work and I have no other way of returning to 4.14 I've opened a ticket but the last one took months for them to respond (I understand why) 
What happens if I have a scene it don't matter what figure it is Genesis 8 - Victoria 4 it will always crash and cause a entire restart of my PC if I save then try to render without fully restarting first! Extremely annoying if your trying to do a few scenes one after the other I am at a loss why it does this I';ve sent a request for 4.14.1.22  but I'm not sure when or if ill get it..
