I made a scene with the Gritstone Hills (David and Horo), carving out a river, using the texture of the Bonus terrain of the High Resolution Terrains Set 4 (David and Horo) and a sky with IBL by Horo. There are four versions of a pine tree from PlantFactory, though I was too lazy to properly modify the (picture) texture of the planes that create the leaves. Because there are so many leaves, I just put the texture on no transparency. If you look closely at the closest trees, you can see that there are rectangles where there should be trees. But it is not too problematic here. However, I could probably have reached the same result with two versions of the tree, instead of four. You do not recognise the different versions very well in this render. I instanced these trees multiple times. I further added three instances of a dead pine tree and several instances of two versions of a bush.
Genesis 9 No Breast/Pectoral.. Possible?Yeah, you finally fix the chest then hardly anything fits. I was happy to see G9 return to something like G1, but I frequently fit G1 clothes to G9 better than G9 clothes on G9 with a flattened chest. I've been experimenting with smoothing the clothes and baking it or updating geometry, but I guess I need more info to make it work - afaik, it's possible. The search for tuts goes on

Need tips on creating attractive East Asian female charactersI have purchased a whole bunch of face morphing packages and have enjoyed creating pretty girls with them with all the hundreds of sliders I have available. It's funny how it is almost impossible to recreate the face of a real-life model in Daz with all of those, not just due to my own inherent limitations as a real artist, but mostly due to the way the morphs all interact with each other. However, due to the clever way the Daz basic G8 character is designed, it is incredibly easy to create original ones that are truly quite attractive with the tools.
But the tools seem to be oriented to a Western European face, as is the basic Daz G8 female character. A subgroup of my (little) group of fans on DeviantArt really want me to create East Asian girls as well. That has turned into a real nightmare. Sure, I can make the eyes (somewhat) Asian-looking with a couple of sliders, adjust the "depth" of various facial features, or adjust the "roundness" or "flatness" of a face, but getting a "pretty" face out of all that is far, far more difficult than a Western European face. I have even tried the "Face Transfer" feature in Daz hoping that I could use a real-life model photo as a starting point, but it doesn't really work well as it shifts around the facial features too much. Attached is the best I can do. It isn't good enough.
It appears that other artists (and I hate to actually include myself in an "artist" category as I never really got beyond creating stick figures from my Grade 2 elementary school class) seem to have this problem also, since by my standards, the Asian Daz characters available for purchase are either just Western girls with Asian eyes, or are simply downright unattractive. I'm not so sure my own standards are all that high, either, since AI is able to generate very pretty Asian girls:

...as any of those girls are the "look" I am after. I cannot, after dozens of hours at it, create a girl that even remotely looks like any of those girls with the Daz tools I have. I have even purchased a couple of Asian girls from Daz that were somewhat attractive and wanted to use them as a base for my morphing, but my modifications made them look even worse that what they are in the standard package. For anyone questioning my claim, I challenge you to just create a character that has the same lips of those girls in the link above. You almost certainly won't be able to.
Maybe the pro graphic artists out there are able to do whatever they want with other software packages outside of Daz, such as Blender or other things. But those are either too expensive or involve a learning curve that is outside my limited time available to learn. Due to limitations of AI, it isn't practical for me to get into that yet, either.
So before I give up on creating Asian girls, do any of you Daz gurus out there know of any special Daz tools and/or techniques that would enable me to create a pretty East Asian girl? That would mean the tools/techniques that would enable me to create one of those above-mentioned AI girls in Daz. I may not have a big following, but my inability to make cute Asian girls is letting some of those guys down. And since those particular guys happen to be a unit of US Army Special Forces (aka Green Berets), getting on their bad side isn't a healthy option. I'm too old to join them in combat, but I consider this a patriotic thing I can do for them.

Trouble with Toulouse HairMorning!
Did you update/re-install the Daz Studio Default Resources when you installed 4.22?
They can be found in DIM if you type "default" in the search engine. Or in your account's products section under "Daz Studio 4.x" if you manually install them, they will be at the bottom of the page in the long installer listing.There were quite a few changes to Studio in 4.22 and have also been changes to the shader systems as well. The Toulouse hair that comes with the Starter Essentials that is in your image loads with the 3Delight mats so you may also want to re-install the Genesis 8 Female Starter Essentials as well just to cover all your bases!

We don't know who invented this rumor, but it's untrue, in fact there isn't even a daughter :).As for Alice, in her "final-form", Alice-Ily (face, bodyshape and skin), she was actually available at RuntimeDNA until we closed our store there and retired all our V4 products due to the fact that we would no longer support V4 and Poser.
At the moment we're mostly focused on clothes, clothing textures and poses, but we'd like to go back to characters as well. Nothing is set in stone yet though.
That said, we're not going to release Alice herself. As many have noticed Alice is constantly evolving, slightly or greatly and she is different in each product we release. We don't want to release something we'd find ourselves dissatisfied with after 2/3 months :)
I am so glad that i finally found this forum after all of these years. I have spent a ton of time driving myself crazy trying to find Alice. This find for me is bittersweet for me, because it's sweet now since I can stop looking for her and bitter for me, because now I know that i will never have her to work with and will never be able to render her for myself. At best atleast my search has closure.

Suddenly cannot select any G8's body parts!I was having that problem too. It was a bunch of the nodes that were inside of other nodes.
I had to open every drop-down and search through to find like 5 that had been turned off. Now everything works again!

I am looking for a pinwheelI am really surprised but I cannot find a single pinwheel prop here or on any other Daz model site. It's really kind of surprising that there is not one in any set at all. Maybe it's just not coming up on a search. Has anyone seen a pinwheel for Daz?

Many people have laptops that are full and they cannot fit any more assets in their Daz Content Library.
This cuts into the bottom line of the Daz Store. No space, no more purchases or they have to constantly uninstall other items.
I have a 4TB PCIE 3.0 M.2 drive that is almost full
For me to buy an 8TB PCIE 4.0 M.2 drive it is $1000
Or I could buy a 4TB PCIE 4.0 M.2 SSD for $200
My request is, it would be nice to be able to start a second Daz Library on another hard drive and in the Install Manager, designate which library assets would be installed. The Install Manager would keep track of which library the asset is installed.
But I have too many assets to do this manually.
So, if i could search for say, HDMIs in the IM, and select the results, en masse, and tell the Install Manager, uninstall these items from this library and install them on this other drive instead in this library. This would epitomize what an Install Manager would do well.
Also, having my content on two drives would speed up the refresh times in the Smart Content directory having two drives supplying 10,100 assets instead of one...
Please make this ability available.

If you have the DAZDEALS extension it will show a little icon/link to display the item in your product library if you already own it... assuming that the extension is working properly and not temporarily offline due to DAZ changing the backend of the store without warning again.
Another thing to be aware of, per the DAZDEALS thread, is that some products get name changes and that becomes an issue due to DAZ using names and not sku numbers for their product locators... and, of course, one also has to take into account is that, if you're like me, you have a huge number of items that you bought at the Renderosity, RuntimeDNA, or other stores that are now being sold in the DAZ store. Just the addition of Vanishing Point alone means I have to double check a half dozen libraries... oh, and don't trust the names to stay the same when crosschecking between stores either... MOST of them will be the same, but I've run into a few where either the name is ever so slightly different or the product has the same name but is slightly different...
