true iray skins for blender are on the way ..
So is the alembic exporter by @TheMysteryIsThePoint available as a freebie? I have looked in the Freebies form but can't find it.
It's on my Google Drive.
Ok, I did download your Alembic exporter and now I see a DLL file. Sorry to be so dumb but what do I do with it? How do I run it?
Also, does it export mesh only but no materials? If so, how do you get the materials into Blender? Some combination of the Diffeomorphic plugin and your Alembic exporter? Or Teleblender, perhaps? Once again, I'm sorry but I'm not clear on the process at all. My idea is to make an animation in DAZ Studio (I tried posing in Blender but found it so much more difficult than DAZ Studio almost certainly because I'm comfortable with what I am used to) - then export that animation (likely Alembic export) and render the animation using Eevee because IRay is soooo slow.
(Dammit, I wish DAZ would get Google Filament working and fix the animation timeline while they are about it.)
[EDIT] Ah wait ... I found your post explaining what the DLL does. I'll try to follow that and see how far I get.

AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO?

E' sviluppato da Google e open-source, no Nvidia!
é GPU o CPU Based?

Home 3d printers?Meshlab and Cura are both free, good, easy to use, and work well with the Ender-3 (my son uses Cura a lot with his Ender-3).
I used Meshlab when I had a filament printer. I quite liked it.
My resin printer came with an absolutely awful slicer and I got Chitubox and think very highly of it.
Home 3d printers?if you are using an XYZ build up printer of any sort, the model needs to be put through a slicer, holes filled and supports added for overhanging mesh.
Resin this is not an issue
don't ever buy a DRM protected printer like me!
even buying the genuine filament it did not identify the built in chip in the cartridge and won't work and their customer service basically told me to sod off
Home 3d printers?does ds print directly to the printer?
does mudbox?
like, what modeling software can print directly to the printer?
my dayjob bought a 3d printer. so excited. dunno what make and model yet
they deliberately torturing me. been begging for one for years lolNo
No
None that I'm aware of.
DS, and mudbox I assume, can produce OBJ files which then need to be run through a slicer program. That converts the OBJ file into g-code instructions for the 3d printer.
Get a good slicer as getting infill, supports and bases right will save you lots of filament and heartache from failed prints.
TBH I'm not a modeler and do all my printing from files produced by others. For me STL has always worked out better than OBJ but YMMV.
Also 3d printing is not one of those things where you can toss the manual and figure it out. Read your printers manual and find any tutorials you can online. Even very small issues can completely prevent the printer from producing useful prints.
AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO? PARTE DODICIE se selezioni entrambi?
Faceva uguale.

*EDIT*
Fa nulla, ho provato io, grazie lo stesso.
Tutto fracassato come prima.
Inconcepibile.Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.12.2.60! (*UPDATED*)I do so hope they fix the animation issue with saving morphs. I just wasted a morning rendering an animation that I saved yesterday only to realise that many of the morphs I had animated are now static. Damn, I could scream!
It's strange because this bug occurs in this public beta and the normal current version of daz. The same thing happened to me. They are aware of this issue and I hope it is fixed sooner than later because it has been around for a month. I contacted customer support and they were able to send me the older version 4.11 which works for what I need. Maybe you could do the same if it fits your work style. I feel your pain though.
For now, I'm just trying to make sure I render before I save and exit. Otherwise I have to try to remember what morphs I tweaked and try to reproduce them. It seems a while since the last fix version (Beta) so hopefully there is one due soon.
There hasn't been a single entry in the Change Log since the release of 4.12.2.6 Public Beta. But then maybe they have stopped updating the Change Log, too. The Highlights Thread hasn't been maintained for several versions now.
Probably means they are in really, really deep with the alpha. Maybe we'll get the Filament Renderer or Pro Renderer next beta? Now such a big deal for nVidia GPU loyalists but it is for everyone else.
Something big is coming!"After I left my computer to go exercise, I remembered that the real time PBR renderer Google Filament was in the DS release notes a while back, but didn't actually show up in the beta. The more I thought about it, it makes more sense as the "something big", since they were obviously close to releasing earlier, but for some reason they delayed the release. For me, that would be pretty big news. I love Eevee in Blender, having something similar in DS would be awesome!!"
Oh man, that'd be awesome if it's a render engine like Eevee! I just finished a ten minute short using Eevee and it turned out fantastic. The shots were rendering quicker than I could get up, get a drink and sit back down. I'm about to start a feature and would love to be able to just stay in Daz and do everything there. Let's see what happens tomorrow!Something big is coming!Google Filament replacing the realtime OpenGL renderer as the default viewport engine? One can only dream :)
Something big is coming! The Filament or ProRender engine integrated directly into DAZ Studio. I'll guess ProRender. Or maybe DAZ Studio support of this new Disney open exchange format, USD.

Something big is coming!Really - so much wishful thinking in this thread that it should merge with the Wishful Thinking thread. If the hint is something "big" and they show a picture of a new big character, then my guess would be that he is the something big. As for the wishes - soft body physics would be good. Google Filament slightly more likely. Please don't let it be G9 though - I'm still stocking up on G8F stuff and also G3M because I don't use G8M.

i wonder what Daz is up to?
It looks to be almost definately a new pro bundle comprising of the 'muscle-bound' character that, either Soto or RawArt, I forget which, was asking about in the Commons of the forums.
Or from the looks of that self smoking cigarette maybe the Filament renderer goes into beta in DAZ Studio?
3D PrintingIs there any information on how to do it please?
great discussion !!! kindly help me out which 3d printer is best of personal use.
Will daz clothes 3d print, if not how do you fix it
not without a lot of supports. you have to scrape off supports after you print it. And supports always leave a bad mark on the print.
However if you get a printer with 2 heads you can use a PVA filament for supports, which dissolves away in water.
Or you can look into resin printers, which I hear are better for miniatures.
heres a test print of a DAZ character I did, using the 3d Solutech skin filament.
I know abought the supports but will clothing & hair print
clothing is ok. hair will not print well because of the very thin strands. You will need to use a low poly hair like the ones in this promo
