Male Body morph for Genesis 3/8 Female
Hi,
Some items can't be converted to G8M, for example I think about the body of System 50 and Borg so I'm looking for a Male morph for G3F/G8F because I doubt the vendors will make a male version of their products.
Request: Young Boy and Girl Hair and Wardrobe from 1950sI believe she was asking about 50s kids CLOTHES, not so much kids that age. That said... the Growing Up morph packs let you set age to 5or6, 9or10, or early-teen (which I'd equate to 13or14), I have used these extensively. Depending on the Growing Up morph pack you have, take any grownup Genesis 1, 2 , 3, or 8 character, apply the morph... instant kid.
But yeah, more kids 50s clothes (and 60s clothes, and 70s clothes, etc) would be welcome.
Adding more knuckles to fingers?Hmm. Something's not working there.
Memorize Figure Rigging: check
Apply Ciara morph to G3F: check
hand-> edit-> Adjust Rigging to Shape: comes up to a dialog box, with all the bones and face groups checked, and Adjust Center Points and Adjust End Points checked, but Adjust Orientation no checked. Accept and the figures in the viewport go crazy. Hmm.
Edit mode: check
rightclick near the parameter -> ERC Freeze: another dialog box.
Clothing parts with unwelded vertices? So I've realised lately that some (maybe many?) clothes are made a bit weird (atleast IMO). Like the arms and other parts aren't actually connected to the torso part for example. In these cases they seem to be separate elements and it maybe the weighting on connecting vertices is the same so when the character is moved you don't really ntoice. I guess for use in Daz it works ok but personally I hate this and it causes problems in my workflow which involves export from Daz Studio.
I'm looking for options on how to actually make them one piece of clothing (like most of the Daz clothing items I've encountered) so any help is appreciated.
One option I guess would be to export, weld the vertices, and reimport. But I don't know how I'd do this and still maintain the weighting of the old clothing item since this would be a new object.
Another would be to weld them after export but I have to export many iterations of each character so a fix closer to the source would be preferable.
Not to sure what other options exist.
One way, if you don't mind the mesh getting triangulated, is to buy the VWD dynamics solution (renderosity) along with the Daz Studio bridge, the bridge exports the item into VWD as a triangulated mesh which somehow gets all welded together (and hence doesn't ever fall apart in VWD even if it does in dForce) and when you send it back to studio it's a prop with the same UV maps but welded up. You lose rigging but that's easily fixable using the transfer function. This is intended for clothing you want to sim but theres no reason it wouldnt work on a hard surface model, just don't sim it before you send it back. Costs money though. So there's that.
free v4/ m4 faces for 2018Morphs sets: can a kind of "uvmap" of those be created?I'll explain: let's say I create a morph of some extruded irregularities on a character's face (veins, swells, whatever) is there a way to easly obtain a mapping of these so that I can paint colors on those ares for a texture map that would match these irregularities?
Adding more knuckles to fingers? You need to memorise the rigging in the default state (Joint Editor right-click menu) then use Adjust Rigging to Shape with the morph applied, then ERC Freeze (right-click to put the Parameetrs pane in Edit mode, then right-click on the morph slider) to link the joint changes to the morph.
Shazbot! no rendering for a while....Well, as long as it's not the HDD/SSD, you can always move the drive to an external enclosure and keep using it (via USB) and/or transfer the files onto another drive, or just move the HDD/SSD to a new system in some cases. The OS files get a bit fussy about this, but usually the other files remain accessable.
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 10So, here is what I want to know...
You don't need a "crossfire" setup to run two Nvidia GPUs for DAZ, right? You can run as many GPUs as you have PCIe slots, and DAZ will see and utilize every card's GPU... with the limit that the card with the lowest amount of RAM will be the TOTAL RAM available? Not quite. Assume two cards, one with 8GB and one with 11GB, and both enabled in the Advanced tab of the Nvidia settings:
If the scene uses less than available memory on the 8GB card, both cards will be used for the render.
If the scene uses more than the available memory on the 8GB card, but less than the available memory on the 11GB, the 11GB card will be used for the render.
If the scene uses more than the available memory on the 11GB card, the CPU will be used for the render.
I understand that not all motherboards are created equal in terms of number of PCIe lanes available, even though they may have multiple full length PCIe slots.
If you have your primary card in the first slot, which generally has 16 lanes available, does anyone know whether, or how much performance is hit if your second or third cards have only 8 or 4 lanes. To simplify this question, let's assume that you are using the same type of card in two slots.
I think the number of lanes may affect memory transfer speed, but even if that is true, I have no idea how that would impact render tmies.
Michael 5 UV and Genesis 2 UVIf you are looking to use Texture Transformer, you can convert M5 to base male UV with Map Transfer in DS.
How do I make monster hands?an option would be this
other.
With morph loader and weight maps.
Export and import. How to model a morph using a pose?Reverse deformation should give you exactly the right result. If you export a character in a pose, sculpt a morph, then load that morph onto the posed character with reverse deformations set, the posed figure with the morphs should be the same vertex for vertex as your sculpt. What process are you using?
How to model a morph using a pose?I am attempting to create a morph that better shows the neck tendons when posing the head looing far to the side - to achieve a more realistic look.
Problem is, once I model based on the pose, when importing with MLP, the dial insists on changing all the other vertices as well.
But modeling on the zero pose is really difficult because I can't tell how exactly my vertex position deltas need to be set for the right looking result.
I tried to set/unset "reverse deformations" in the import settings, but that doesn't really give me the right result.
Edie 8This is also Edie, but I have gone mad with morph sliders.
@Valkeerie I love that portrait! Nice work! :)
I finally got another chance to render another Edie character. This is the Grandmother for Edie 8. I really like this character.

Insta-bought!
compared to the Edward version I linked a couple pages ago this one seems to have gained a few more pounds... Can't say I really see a large resemblance to Sean Bean or Ned Stark.
But hey, we all see what we want to see, I guess

It's the hair and beard that sorta kinda make the resemblance, but I agree that it's not an extremely close likeness. Close enough to maybe hand spin some morph dials the rest of the way...
That being said, he is a rather handsome fellow, and I wishlisted him as soon as I saw him. Maybe the next time Rendo does a wishlist sale or something...
The bald version pic shows off the face real well, and he reminds me of someone, I just cant think of whom...
He reminds me of this meme, although I haven't a cue who he is or the show that is taken from (I think Mordor is a place in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy I read when I was 15 so maybe he is from that show and that picture is from one of those films):

Yes, Boromir from Lord of the Rings. I really need to watch those again (and reread the books).
Photo-real characters. A different approach.Great realism, Diva!
Thank you, PhilW! :) I have a lot more morphs for G3F so it was easier to get the look I wanted with G3. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to transfer her to G8F though, as I really miss the ability to do the realistic expressions with PowerPose and G8. I tried several times to do a nice looking smile on her but the premade expressions just looked so fake on her. I played with the expression adjustments but really couldn't get it to look natural. That PowerPose and the G8 facial rigging has really spoiled me! lol

Basic tutorial for transferring Genesis3 female morphs to Genesis8 femaleThere is still a lot of to Daz that I don't comprehend, and the terms and methodologies are still a bit foreign to me after several years (so my apologies if I'm missing the intent of this tutorial). I'm a bit lost here in terms of "Your morph/morphs will have transferred" and I need to locate them to dial them in.
I have two Genesis 2 figures (male and female) and both use their respective shaping/face morphs offered as a Daz Originals. My goal is to have these converted to Genesis 8, primarily, I just want the faces to be the same (or close as possible) on a Genesis 8 figure. Does your method achieve this or is it providing a different end goal?
After I followed the steps, and clicked Accept, it ran through a series of processes, and once finished, there wasn't any change. As far as searching for the morphs as you mentioned, there are dozens of controls I used to tweak the nose, eyes, etc, so I'm not sure about searching for them since the Genesis 8 has similar face morph controls.
Thanks, any help would be appreciated.
Yay! An updated 'classic' Biker Jacket finally! But for girls... Still, thanks BadKitten Co!Sooo, looking at today's sale, and I see this:
https://www.daz3d.com/classic-biker-gear-two-for-genesis-8-females

Yep, a Classic biker jacket! One that is practical no less. I even own a jacket very similar to this one in RL (which I need to get relined, but that's another story). We had a request thread for something like this a while ago...
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/176311/classic-biker-jacket
Specifically, referring to this design:

Anyways, comparing the new BadKitten jacket to my (male RL) biker jacket, the major differences I'm seeing is a narrower belt, mine has zippers at the base of the sleeves, as well as the snaps, and mine has a couple more pockets to put stuff in (at hand/waist level) (similar to second pic, but zips are angled a bit more). Also, as in the second pic, mine has waist adjust snap straps as well as the main belt around the waist.
Overall, other than it being a female version, BadKitten's classic jacket Mk II is quite close. The only major compaint I can think of is that I don't believe the BadKitten jacket opens (not seeing any jacket open morphs on the morph list, or any open jacket shots in the promo pics), but morph wise that might have been a bit of a challenge due to the way this jacket style overlaps when it is zipped up.
I've since (personally in RL) went the armored (sport bike) jacket route, but I'm really glad to finally see an updated take on this jacket style. The M4 one was a bit dated...
Anyways, thanks BadKitten Co for this gem!!!. Hopefully BadKitten Co will consider doing a 'boxier' (less curvy) version of this jacket style for males. This might autofit OK in the meantime...
