Help finding the model used in this promo

I always appreciate it when the vendors list the items used in the promo images. I understand it isn't always easy to keep track of items. I understand that the promo image isn't what is being sold. If the image was being sold to a company for a bookcover, poster, movie, or other venture, I suspect there'd be more strict requirements about what's used in the image and proof of having the appropriate licenses for distribution, etc. But, yup, promo images for products sold here are more like an artist expressing their talent centered around the product and whatever else they have in their toolbox. Nothing wrong with that.
I do believe that if the image specified that "the model is a custom character not available for purchase" that would help alot (as someone else pointed out earlier). I also believe that for hair (especially) and clothes there should be at least one image with the base character. It's been a while since I rendered anything but I was always a bit disapointed when I found that a big part of the apeal of the product was the model they used even though the model wasn't the product. Showing the hair or clothes on the appropriate generation of Victoria and/or Michael without any extra morphs would help customers manage expectations.
Finally, I can talk about something I know about! Having actually done this, the concern is about proper licences and there is absolutely no interest in asset inventory. People might keep track of assets by some visual attribute such as "all the red mini dresses" but noone keeps track of sources of assets. Managing expectations is pretty much never a consideration of advertising; the expectation is that an advertisement is a bit of an aspirational fantasy. There is a famous image of a celebrity wearing a high end garment on the cover of Vanity Fair with a photo inside showing the view from the back; thegarment has been cut apart and is held together with safety pins and gaffer's tape so that it will have no wrinkles from the otherside.

GENERAL FREEBIE REQUESTS part 3Hello everyone. Has anyone seen any free resources for goatlike ear morphs? Nothing long and floppy, but horizontally projecting with rounded ends, similar to the attached picture. I've successfully converted some free satyr assets down to G8.1F, but the satyrs now need appropriately shaped ears. I can convert morphs from Victoria/Michael/Aiko/Hiro 3 up through Genesis 9.
How about a free goat tail too?
Just for those who may be interested, the G9 faun fur and horns are my Mysticartdesign here https://3dshards.com/product/faun-fur-and-horns-for-g9/ .
The leg morph for G9 cloven hooves is by sentionaut here https://www.renderosity.com/freestuff/items/94066/demon-legs-morph-for-genesis-9 .

Thanks for replying RiverSoft Art! I tried deleting the clone as well as the morphs just now - no luck, the arm distortion on the converted Victoria 7 is still there.
Oh, I had another thought. I think this script is vulnerable to the stupid Daz change where it asks you now (instead of just doing it) do you really want to restore or zero the figure? You want to ZERO the figure. Make sure the clone and morphs are deleted first.
Yes, the Restore or Zero dialogue does come up. Having installed DS very recently it is 4.24.0.3.
Procedure:
Deleted clone
Deleted previously created Victoria 7 conversion morphs
Started Daz Studio
Followed the manual instructions for Convert Scene Character
Selected Okay in dialogue 'The script has detected this is first time you have tried to use this conversion method' triggered by deletion of clone
Selected Zero in Restore or Zero dialogueThe created conversion still has the distorted arms. Actually I read your direction to use 'Zero' somewhere else in the forum and have used it since.
When I first used the G3F to G8F converter and the arms on the V7 and V7 character conversions were straight, the DS version would have been 4.20, 4.21 or (less likely) 4.22, certainly there was no Restore or Zero dialogue. When the arm issue appeared, the version was, I think 4.23. I then uninstalled 4.23 and replaced it with 4.21, which didn't help. I also tried replacing the new improved version of Genesis 8 with the old version of Genesis 8, which also made no difference.
I think the wavy arms are occuring because there is some wrong height difference on your system. If you load "Genesis 3 Female" and "Genesis 8 Female" into a new scene and then pose the shoulders 45 degrees and negative 45 degrees. Do they line up like this?
How Many Daz Products do You Own?This is such a fun thread!
I have been here since 2005. My first purchase was $44.95. I bought Victoria 3, MIchael 3 and 3D Starter Pack.
I have spent $18,478. Long ago, I was purchasing from RDNA, Renderosity, 3D Commune, Content Paradise, Faerie Dreams, 3D Arena, Poser Pros and several others. I have never been brave enought to tell hubby how much I have spent. I would imagine another $15,000, if I had to guess. I would ask for money for Christmas and every birthday instead of presents so I could buy 3d products! LOL
I manually install everything. I suffer from Anxiety and OCD. Everything has to be my way.
I did allow DIM to install all of my hair products. I then went through and organized the way I wanted :)
So, DIM says I have 426 items (which is my hair products) installed and 7,558 items to be installed.
I have 157 pages of products. I searched what I own in the store and it was 4841 of 62982 items. So I have many, many things that are no longer sold here. I have many things I purchased from RDNA that are included in my total.
I love this hobby. I learn something every day. I will be 70 years old at the end of this year and I feel this hobby keeps my mind alert. I miss working and I'm not physically able to work. So, this is just wondeful. Good Therapy!! Worth every penny.
Thank you for the fun, Daz3d!

On page 22 of this discussion, AnotherUserName reported that a conversion of Jenn HD for Victoria 7 featured "strange, wavy biceps". The comments on this issue ended on the same page without a resolution. I have had the same or a very similar issue with the conversion of Victoria 7 herself and characters based on Victoria 7. When I originally converted Victoria 7 and some other V7-based characters, the arms on the Genesis 8 conversions showed no distortions. After a break I converted a V7-based character early this year and found the wavy arms, which look a bit like the Body Builder morph arms. I then discovered the same arm distortion when converting Victoria 7 again and all the other V7-based characters I tried. Deleting the conversion morphs, renaming the Body Builder morph file, re-starting Daz Studio and running the conversion again made no difference. To cut a long story short, I backed up all files to external hard drives (and inaccessible to Daz Studio), did a clean re-install of Windows on my computer, downloaded DIM and installed just the basics along with Genesis 3, Genesis 8, Victoria 7 and the G3F to G8F converter and made no changes to any settings in DS. I fully expected the conversion of Victoria 7 to have straight arms this time, but no. The conversion still has distorted arms.
There is currently little else besides Daz Studio on my computer. Just to make sure, I uninstalled each of the other applications, deleted the morphs and ran the conversion, but the arm distortion remained. Has anyone had this issue and found the cause?
Screenshot and log file from before the re-installation of Windows attached.
Did you delete the clone before converting a character too? The clone is done once and is located in C:/Users/USER NAME/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/Studio4/CharacterConverterMorphs.
Can Poser G2F clothes be used on DAZ G2FHavos said:
I bought a large bundle of historical clothing for G2 James on Rendo when they were very cheap ($3.50 for the whole lot). Even when I used Poser, may eons ago, I don't think I ever used G2 James, but I wanted to see how easily I could get them onto G8M. I used a method similar to what Cybersox outlines above. Here are some small renders of the conversions. Obviously the clothing is not up to modern standards, but they help fill out a few niche genres which are pretty thin on the ground on this site.
Those came out pretty well considering how convoluted the conversion process is! I have to admit that I rarely used the Poser G2 figures back in the day, as I actually thought the poser G1 generation with the original Jesse, James, Miki, etc. that came with Poser 6 and even the Poser 5 figures Judy & Don figures looked more natural in terms of sculpts... and, of course, because the Victoria 3 and Victoria 4 generation figures from DAZ were clearly the best that was available at the time, with the only two possible exceptions of being the brilliant stand-alone Apollo Maximus and, for anime type renders, the Japanese created Terai Yuki.

Tried new Daz 2025 today AND Biggest Plus for me and my work is improved asset loading, G9 Victoria with 19328 Moprhs, Daz 4.5 loading time 50 sec and Daz 2025 loading time 20 sec . Also some character like BJ Giana take more time (80 sec) to load becasue of its textures now loading in 28 sec.
Gensis 9 (and some earlier vesions) are not supported in DS 4.5 anyway - that is the very first release (remember that version numbers are, in full, four whole numbers separated by dots).
Can Poser G2F clothes be used on DAZ G2FIf it IS clothing for the Poser G2 figures that you're looking at.... that's Jesse 2, James, 2, etc. which were originally included with Poser 7... the good news is that those were pre-weight-mapping, so if you have Evil Innocence's crossdresser program, you could convert those clothes to fit the base Victoria 4 and M4. Then, assuming you buy the appropriate crossdresser plug-ins, you could try loading the result any Genesis generation figure that you have a V4 clone for. However, as it's a fit from a fit, I wouldn't expect the results to be fantastic. In addition, keep in mind that the Power G2 figures are not only several generations earlier than the Genesis products, but they may use a different material system or settings, at which point you're going to be doing so much work to try to make it work in Iray that it would hardly be worth the effort. I know people who've done it, but they've all kept the shape that they loaded the clothing onto extremely close to the original V4/M4 shape.
Now, all that said, keep in mind that the Jesse 2 and James 2 figures, along with some of their clothes, have been included as freebies in most versions of Poser since P7, so if you own one of those, you might want to double check to see if you already have said item before buying it. And yes, if you're wondering, since the Poser G2 figures weren't weight-mapped, they can actually be loaded and used in Poser, so one could theoretically make a James 2 or Jesse 2 clone...

ZKuro Celtic Goddess - which model used?Hi,
Does anyone know which model is used in the first promo shoot in ZKuro's excellent product here?
https://www.daz3d.com/zk-dforce-celtic-goddess-for-genesis-9
(In case the ordering changes at some point, the model has long orange hair with pinkish makeup around the eyes.)
My guess is Victoria 9 with some morphs, but any assistance greatly appreciated!
TIA.

Character and Hair IdentificationHello, the girl featured in the main promo image for Faidra Hair is a blend of several characters. The specific dial settings are as follows:
Calypso 9 Human at 30%
EG Beulah at 10%
Jennie 9 at 10%
Olympia 9 at 20%
Victoria 9 at 30%
The skin textures are from Ally 9 materials, the eye texture is from Calypso 9 materials, and the eyebrows are "G9 Eyebrows Fiber Style 02" from the Genesis 9 Starter Essentials Expansion.
Have fun blending!Leather Muir capMaybe the one from the Diva's Desire Outfit for G9 ?

It's was released as part of the Victoria 9 HD Intro Bundle so you may already have it.
Edit: They just came back to my mind, but they are two free alternatives, one for G8 and one for G9 (likely using the same mesh). They have the same overall shape as the diva's desire cap:

How to use face transfer head with MDL body?I started with Victoria 8 body and applied face transfer along with FTS fix. This changes all the textures on the body and it looks very flat and bad. I think it creates everything as RSL? I thought of just going in and changing the surfaces of the body back to Victoria 8 ones, but the drop down doesn't list the ones that were in use before the application of face transfer. MDL options can also no longer be found in smart content -> materials.
I thought of using File->Save As->Shaping Preset to save just the face tranfer head, then double-clicking what I saved while having a standard Victoria 8 loaded, but the resulting head looks nothing like the source head. I do want to try and blend in the face transfer textures as well, which wouldn't happen loading a shaping preset I guess.
How can I get this to work? Convert the face transfer textures to MDL? How? And then how do I enable the ability to choose MDL options from smart content materials?
Where in Our Accounts Do Our Purchased Licenses Show Up?Fauvist said:
So this method doesn't work for the 3D licenses that were given to me for free for old content like Victoria 4.2. There are no invoices for those old 3D licences. So I still need a way to find out what I have a 3D license for. I have thousands of purhased pieces content from DAZ3d. I can't possibly click on every one of them in my Library to see if there is a 3D license included.
If they are DOs and purchased before July 12, 2022, they should all have a 3D license.
