Okay, so now you have 2 daddies poses. 1 is for genesis baby, and the second for the Rosie morph for Sixus baby. Both are unique and made from scratch.  I have updated the zip. The poses load just like the carrier does which is to one side for easy parenting. (No pun intended). Pink infant is genesis. Orchid Infant is Rosie. Genesis Will need to be reduced to 41 percent height since he loads oversized.

  • How To Make Nonhuman Head Morphs That Work With Poses/Expressions?

Depending on what you do, how extreme the morph, you will use Adjust Rigging to Shape. If the morph is truly extreme, you will need to create JCMs (joint corrective morphs) or MCMs (morph corrective morphs). to assist in making things look and work right. Take a look through Josh's tutorials. Different Josh, this Josh works at Daz.

  • How To Make Nonhuman Head Morphs That Work With Poses/Expressions?

Heya! I've been a long time Daz Studio user but now I want to take things to the next level by creating my own morphs for Genesis figures. I have ZBrush and I'm learning how to use that so that I can take the basic Genesis models and make some really cool custom creatures out of them, like what RawArt does.

Only thing is, I've run into a pretty huge snag. I haven't been able to find any tutorials on how to create nonhuman morphs in such a way that the vertices remain accurately in place so that expressions and other shape keys will still work once they're imported again. I don't know if there's a process for reassigning the vertices to key areas such as the edges of lips or ears, but I know that RawArt is able to keep all the vertices in the same relative position. However, when I use ZBrush and I'm creating something that has very alien looking ears, for example, I'll lose the original placement of those ears and then I know that future morphs and expressions won't work. However, RawArt's morphs still work, for example if I use his Croc character and dial up a smile expression, it will still look like a smile, but if I try to create my own reptilian character and import it as a morph, the shape keys won't line up.

I've been trying to find tutorials online for this but all I can find are related to making very simple face morphs for human characters. This is of course very easy because you can just gently sculpt the edges of the original Genesis models to change the shape while the vertices for the tip of the nose or ear, for example, are still there. Considering that lots of artists like RawArt, Josh Crockett, DarioFish, and TheAntFarm have been able to make very good nonhumans that still have the vertices in the right places for expressions and posing, what I am missing?

  • so if an animation is saved using genesis it works on Genesis 3

So I got it figured out. Here's how you get Mixamo animations work with Genesis 8.

    1) Download the desired animation as FBX from mixamo (I used Aiko 6 as fbx avatar)

    2) Open up Daz3D

    3) Import the FBX from mixamo

    4) load up Genesis 1 figure

    5) select the fbx imported avatar and create aniblock from imported fbx animation.

    6) Copy it to genesis 1

    7) delete the fbx import

    8) Bake genesis 1 aniblock to timeline

    9) Save as Pose Preset (make sure to chose Animation Range)

    10) Open a new scene in Daz

    11) Load up Genesis 8

    12) Make sure you have this installed: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/176806/g3f-to-g8f-pose-helper

    13) Apply G3F Pose Helper morph to 100%

    14) Drag the .duf file on top of Genesis 8.

    15) Be happy that you found an easy way to make G8 work with mixamo.

Doesn't help seeing that the link is dead for the most important file!

well I made one as I said, you put it in your drive:\My Library\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Male\Morphs\-\Product or the female one, as a pose works on both and it will be a pose parameter like agent unawares one

Ahh sorry - shoulda read your response first.

  • Genesis Figures into Carrara?

Thank you, Bunyip. So kind of you to take the time to put the images together. I actually was following the steps you describe, but as you can see, compared to your choices, mine are pretty limited. Not sure why.

Any ideas on that appreciated. If I am really stuck, I can make my own pupil dilation, as it is a pretty simple morph.

With the Head selected, I do have a few more eye related morphs  (second image).

  • How do you get Older hair to fit Genesis 1

Ok so the hair is for A3 which is the problem, there is no A3 autofit clone for genesis to transfer without purchasing an additional product.  You will need https://www.daz3d.com/a3-and-h3-shapes-for-genesis to get the clones.  You might even want to consider the bundle for all gen3 characters.

I have all the iconic characters for genesis, 3 and 4, . I bought them on sale, since I planned on doing this 10 years ago but Daz ate all my save files. Then I lost everything in a system crash and forgot about Daz. Now im finally getting back with a brand new story and got brand new problems.

  • Katerina and Little Katerina for Genesis 3 and 8 Female Vs Katerina from Renderosity

As an FYI, if you've ever bought any product from Rendo, the download files and a link to the original product page will always be available in your item list in your account page, which can be further filtered down by the name of any artist, whether they're still selling at Renderosity or not.  That's one of the handfull of things that I think Rendo does better than DAZ, where the product pages to discontinued items and vendors can often completely disappear.

IIRC, Anain & AkashaBloodriver (they're a mother and son team, btw) had just barely started producing products for Gen 8 when they left Rendo.  I have thirteen that I bought over there... 8 by the pair and 5 by anain with other partners... and only one, the Little Beauties morph pack, was for G8F, so I'm really glad to see that the products from their old stores are starting to appear here and following the same pattern as Mousso's by being expanded to cover both G8 and G3.

  • Using ZBrush Core and Daz

Right, well scaling would affect the eyes  -they are still trying to rotate around their original centres, but those are now below and beside them so they describe an arc rather than rotating. Edit>Figure>Rigging>Adjust Rigging to Shape, make sure the results work, then zero the pose and any other shaping - just leaving the morph and the joint adjustments - and right-click in the parametrs pane, select Edit Mode (if it isn't already checked), right-click on your morph's slider, ERC Freeze, make sure only joint adjustments (centre adn endpoint) are listed in the lower section, and click Accept - that links the adjusted centres to your morph, so that they kick in automatically..

  • Using ZBrush Core and Daz

The jumping to the side probably means the model was moved - before you exported it from DS, if you used a different one, or in ZBrush Core itself.

The eye issue is probably related - if a morph markedly changes the shape of a body part then the joint centres need adjusting, otherwise it still pivots from the old position. Is the eye issue happening in shapes that don't move the body (or head) around, or only in thsoe that do?

  • Gregorius' Quest for Photo-Realistic Characters

Nonesuch00, yeah, I think mapping the illusory aquamarine iris color directly may be somethingt we may have to live with, at least if I'm to maintain the kind of easy control over eye color that I consider too important to compromise.  I may yet do some tinkering, though.  Is a straight-up green eye actually green, or is it a similar illusion-at-a-distance?  That'll help.

Anyway, here's another single-spotlight portrait, this time using a third-party morph that I don't think I've ever actually rendered before.  This is Indira from EJ's Ethnic Beauties pack.

No what happens is absense of pigment is a blue eye and as the density of pigment in an area of the eye gets higher to area where pigment are goes from blue to yellow to orange (amber) to brown to very dark brown.

Green, Blue-Green, Hazel  and those shades in-between are just varying mixtures of the of what happens in the 1st paragraph and illusions at a distance. The closest you'll see to a shade of green up close is hazel which is a green-brown color.

Actually I'm just going from people I know that I've seen their eyes. If you are going to make textures it is best you go to a more definitive source:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_color

Although Wikipedia must be taken with many grains of salt often for something as dry a subject as eye color it should be OK but there are probably other sources you can use too if you searh.

  • Using ZBrush Core and Daz

It jumps to the same position - but not every morph seems to do it. I have also been having issues with eyes bulging and departing from the sockets when I pose them - but that also seems to be occasional, as if I am forgetting a stage in the loading of the morph.

  • Released: Boys for Shape Master for Genesis 8 Male (commercial)

It looks like I was in the Genesis 3 folder and trying to apply them to Genesis 8.

When I was in the Genesis 8 folder and apply different icons, I could see the figure changing. Thanks for your help.

great, thanks for letting me know. Glad you worked that out!
Btw, the folder structure when installing with Connect is the same except the first folder with the ID, but then the sub folders are equal.
The "label" of the morphs is usually different than the filenames you find in the folders on your hard drive.
The labels are more descriptive while the filenames do not always let you know what it is about, usually the enduser does not come in contact with the DSF files themselves.
That to your question in your other post.
Most of my morph products have a suffix or prefix in the label, like B4SM (Boys for Shape Master) etc. , that enables you to better find all morph dials when you type that in the search filter.
This also makes the name unique and avoids name doubling with other morphs installed.
    Cheers

  • Genesis Figures into Carrara?

Another basic Genesis question: Embarrased to ask, but can't find pupil dilation morph control, nor iris size. Can anyone point me to them?

    Thanks for your help,

    Rick

Depending on that you have those morphs installed:-

First of all click on Actor in the Instances-Scene tab. Next click on the Parameters tab.

Click on the the double arrow icon in the parameters tab to bring up the menu.

Scroll all the way down to eyes and click on it.

Then scroll down to Eye Iris size

Then scoll down to Pupil Dilate.
