Are you trying to use the Genesis 8.1 Female version, or the Victoria 8.1 version? I have these poses and I just did a test with them, and the Genesis 8.1 Female version of these poses work fine with Genesis 8 Female..

The page only mentions it being compatible with G8.1 so my guess would be a metadata error.

indeed i do have this outtfit too and it's really amazing how she/he pay attention to this and not just go full high heels, also for it was aways a big issue when going for outfits for female characters, cleave is not a big issue for me but the high heels and specially ones which are ridiculous like the most point tiny heel which in real situation you would have to walk a lot carefull to not fall, some artists at last try to make the "heels look a little reasonable but others just goes with the most non practical heels possible to make it's looks like a victoria secret model, i really would love to see artists being good enough to add option for both heels and flat and not just go full heels. 

TBH I still would like to see a Victoria 4 to G8F character converter.

Took a chance and got Paris Runaway Heels, even though it's for G8.1F and V8.1.  Then tried it in D|S 4.12.

Here's the result:

No autofit needed and did some tweaking for the pose but nothing I hadn't done before.

Fwiw I run both D|S 4.12 & 4.15.

No buyer's remorse

I had much better results using pure clones with the wear them all for G3 addon and then saving and fitting to G8. I am really surprised they never came out with a wear them all for G8

Obviously that is your experience, but for me it was the opposite, I have had good experience with all three products, and I would recommend them. Whilst there is sometimes warping, it is not on every item, and often it is quite minor. The latter two products do a better job for transferring clothing like long dresses and tunics. Auto fit for these items almost invariably results in warping, at least in my experience.

All the Daz “core” characters are more expensive than the others. Some have morphs that can add significantly to the gene pool, others not so much. It’s really up to you if you think it’s worth it. I mostly only get core characters when there are good deals on the whole bundle and other perks. Victoria 8.1 also comes with vellus hair but so do many Mousso characters. Just look at all promo renders and user renders and decide from that if core characters are worth it. 

I personally just got V8.1 because the bundle was a good deal during the Memorial weekend sale but it took me an hour to get the skin decent because I much prefer the older iRay shaders to the new PBR ones. That said, I was finally happy with my render. The problem with core characters is that many are very recognizable so it’s always best to dial some of them out and add your own morphs and tweaks. I would only get a core character if it came in a bundle with a great deal or if the character is extremely original. Depends what type of renders you’re doing too because PA characters are often more attractive and Daz core characters, at least with 8.0 and older, tend to be more average looking people, older, overweight or toonish.

Both Genesis and Genesis 2 have multiple UV sets, different ways of wrapping the textures around the model, so in part the answer will depend on exactly which characters you are using. Genesis 2 female uses the Genesis Victoria 5 UVs by default, as I recall, and likewise Genesis 2 male uses the Michael 5 UVs.

DAZ Studio è uno degli strumenti più versatili e potenti al momento sul mercato...
Se frughi bene, scoprirai che DAZ Studio è stato usato per fare film come Iron Man, Hulk e persino alcune parti de Lo Hobbit. E viene usato anche per realizzare alcune serie animate presenti su Netflix.

Solo che ultimamente hanno deciso di ucciderlo, lasciandolo pieno di bug e focalizzandosi sul rilasciare figure base su figure base e nel fracassare sempre di più Iray che già non è un gran strumento di suo.

Però ho avuto una bella sorpresa nello scoprire che hanno aggiornato il bridge per Blender e ora supporta G1 e G2... un passo avanti?

Puoi sempre usarlo come parte di una pipeline... crei la base con DAZ e poi esporti in Zbrush se vuoi scolpire dettagli o in Maya/3DS Max per fare render/animazioni. Tantissimi tutorial online sui character partono da una mesh base Genesis (o Michael/Victoria se risalgono a qualche anno fa..). 

Scusa la cuiosità @Imago ma tu che lavoro fai di preciso ? Ti leggo sempre che sei incastrato con le animazioni... Sei un freelancer ?

Hello All, sadly, I had forgotten to mention that the figure had to be Gen 3 or 8 as I want to make use of the Miellyn outfit by Arki / Shox, mainly for the headdress for Hela.    To echo Faeryl Womyn, the examples above don't really fit the bill and even though the second one is marginally there, it is Genesis 2.  The first one, not even close the last one, in a similar attempt I want to do, looks more like Natalie Portman forced into the role of Hela.

So it looks like it that the only good one is Alatariel (I misspelled it above), from Renderocity.

Okay. To thin the library out - with D/S closed, one can manually dig into the data folders and [first backup the content to a zip folder perhaps] and pick carefully what to delete.

n.b. This is NOT for everybody to be doing please! If one has installed via DIM, uninstalls are done via DIM too. I install manually and know something of how to manually delete stuff but still, ideas are offered "as is" - your computer, your responsibility.

Genesis and Genesis 2 will load faster if "10 years" worth of extra morphs are deleted certainly. I've attached 3 images -- be careful in the data folders, there are 2 for Daz3D, one with a space and one without. In the main one DAZ 3D there are all the figures. Find the one for a particular Genesis number, find the morph folder ... and carefully select the ones you want deleted. I say carefully because some might be for auto-fit clones and things like that which you might want to keep.

When in doubt, don't, do ask ;-)

And if the textures are no longer required, those should be in the appropriate subfolder under Textures under Runtime under My Library.

So if for example I deleted Teen Josie, then those morphs will not load with the figure. The less morphs there are, to a point, the faster the figure will load.

Some figures outside of the Daz 3D morphs folder are reliant on these. For example several characters are based on Victoria 6. So if keeping one of those, then Victoria 6 also should be kept.

I have an oppertunity for a side gig using DAZ. I am poor but scrimped and saved to buy a computer to run it. It is an ACER custom for new egg. It is an Aspire A515-55G. It has 12g ram and a MMX 330/350 with 2g. Brand new with windows 10 home. I am an advanced user going back to Victoria 3 when polygon dinasours roamed the earth. The last version of DAZ I used was v.10. I had a decent rig but we have crap power here and I blew that rig up. And the next one. And the next one after that. But those were desktops and I now know I can only use laptops. Problem was laptops at that time didnt really have actual cards so openCL was not supported so no gravity sim. My quest for photorealism demands gravity.

 That kind of bummed me out plus I had the little matter of basic survival for while. Things got better and I saw that you could get a laptop with a graphics card. Used web based installer and DAZ popped right up. Loaded some basic stuff...I.E...gen8f, clothes the provided hair...poof DAZ justs dissappaers. I have determined since then if you put any kind of load on it it will just go bye bye. I am talking to a nice lady from support, We started a month ago. I sent log files and so far It has been suggested not to use nividea view. I used nividea view to hurry up and crash it to send her a text file. I know all this stuff. In the past when DAZ crashed it at least stayed open even if it locked me up for long periods of time.

 I good at using DAZ but I am not a coder. I need DAZ to work and I dont see going through help center as viable so let me ask the community this...

 1. Are there any DAZ approved IT guys who could remote in and fix this. It would probably be easy work for the right geek and I am willing to pay for this.

 2. Could anybody recomend a sub 1000 laptop that can run DAZ reasonably well. I have to be able to do gravity simulations so I need openCL. I dont care if it takes two days to render something as long as it renders. I have to KNOW someone has installed DAZ and it works.I have an oppertunity to sell a kidney so I got one more shot at this. I prefer ACER but any brand known to work will do.

If someone wants to talk me through this I am game. I know my way around DAZ so I can do stuff and send logfiles. I suspect some kind of cascading memory leak/flood. But I know nothing John Snow

I no longer use the Genesis and Genesis 2 figures and thought removing shapes or morphs would free up the library because I have over 10 yrs of content starting back when Michael and Victoria 3 was used. However, since I already have problems getting my Genesis 8 female and male characters to load I will just keep the old shapes and morphs.
