morphing help please
Thanks for the reply, appreciated.
When the morph is exported daz asks if you want it as a morph. I enter yes and I get a slider named whatever I called it.
Problem is that when I turn the new morph dial in daz the figure reverts to the base G3 (with a corrupted figure from the morph), and not the figure I sent to hexagon and tweeked - I hope that makes sence!
How to Use dForce: Creating a Blanket, Draping Clothes on Furniture, and Much More [Commercial]How I got dForce Dynamic Surface Add-On working with polygons
@Mada posted several dForce Dynamic Surface Add-On tips in this thread, and she also used the technique in her House Brownie Outfit I purchased that outfit, and it was a good example of what dForce Dynamic Surface Add-On polygons should look like and how they should be positioned. She used them to hold a shirt closed, at the button locations, as if the shirt were really buttoned. This is a summary of what I learned from her generous tips. There may be better ways. I used Blender, and I am NOT a Blender expert, so I might have made things harder than necessary. These steps assume some basic knowledge of exporting and importing OBJ files in Daz Studio, using a modeler like Blender, and using the Transfer Utility.
- Open the garment/object that you want to add the dForce Dynamic Surface Add-On to. In my case, I used the dForce Dynamic Surface Add-On to hold a shirt front closed, like Mada did in House Brownie.
- Change the Mesh Resolution of the object to Base and turn off Smoothing.
- Export the object as OBJ. I used the same export settings that I would use if creating morphs for the object.
- Import the OBJ in your modeler. I used Blender. I used the same import settings that I would use if morphing the object.
- In Blender, select the imported object, go to edit mode and vertex selection method.
- Select a vertex in one side of the shirt (e.g. the right side near the button).
- Shift-Select a vertex on the other side of the shirt (e.g. the left side of the shirt near the button hole).
- Shift-Select another vertex on the second side of the shirt (e.g. the left side of the shirt near the button hole).
- Shift-Select another vertex on the first side of the shirt (e.g. the right side near the button).
- Now you have four vertices of the shirt selected, two on one side of the shirt and two on the other side. Hit the F key to create a new polygon from these 4 vertices.
- Switch to face selection mode. Select ONLY the new polygon that you created.
- Hit Ctrl I to invert your selection. Now you have the entire garment selected and your new polygon is NOT selected.
- Delete all of the selected faces.
- Now you have only your new polygon left.
- Export that new polygon as an OBJ file. I used the same export settings I would use if exporting a modified mesh for morph creation.
- Return to Daz Studio and import the OBJ file containing your new polygon. I used the same import settings that I would use if importing a mesh for creating a morph (the same scale as used for exporting, etc.).
- Use the Transfer Utility to conform the new polygon to the original garment (Source: original garment, Target: new polygon object).
- With the polygon object selected in the Scene pane, Add dForce Modifier: Dynamic Surface Add-On (Edit/Geometry menu).
- If the original garment didn't already have dForce Dynamic Surface(s), add dForce Modifier: Dynamic Surface to it (Edit/Geometry menu).
- Return the Mesh Resolution to its original setting if you changed if from High Resolution to Base in step 2.
- Simulate and you should see that the new polygon dForce Dynamic Surface Add-On holds the two sides of the shirt together, because two vertices were on one side and two vertices are on the other side, preventing it from falling open at that location.
- Turn Smoothing on for the original garment if you wish.
I did this from memory. I hope I didn't forget any critical steps!
Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.11.0.335! (*UPDATED*)I'm still playing around with the add-ons and figuring out best uses which is why I haven't made a video yet - what Barbult posted before already covers it pretty well. You need the support vertices to be in the exact same spot as the geo you're supporting, keeping it as simple as possible and then use the transfer utility to fit the add-on to the figure you're supporting. When you simulate it should keep the geo closer to the original shape than before.
Could an add-on be used to create soemthing like a hoop skirt?
morphing help pleaseIf you send the shape to Hexagon and adjust it, then send it back you should end up with a morph that is just your changes, as far as I know. You don't want a single combined morph as you would then lose and correction morphs that are triggered by posing or other shapes, and you would not be able to share the composite morph should you wish to.
morphing help pleaseHi
Ive constructed a figure from morph dials that Im pretty happy with but I want to tweek the body shapes a bit, beyond what I can do with dialing existing morphs.
The question is can I make a morph in hexagon, made using my new figure as its base?
Ive tried, but as I apply the morph the figure reverts to G3 female base with defects (my morph?), and winds up looking nothing like what I am after.
So, can it be done?, or do you have to use G3 as a morph base in hexagon, which seems to be impossible to tweek to what I am after.
TIA

Applying G8 textures to genesis (1)I do have another question about this: The Genesi 8 figures don't come with an option to use the G3 base male or female UV set... I have found products that can let me use M7 and V7 uv's, but no G3F or G3M uv's... Or can I just use a G8 Base Male or G8 Base Female Uv preset and apply a G3F or G3M texture to it? Even if that works, the map transfer tool won't let me convert G8 textures to G3... Again, there is the option of converting to either M7 or V7, but not G3. Can M7 or V7 uv's be applied to genesis1? Or am I missing something here?
Thanks a lot,

Can morphs be transfered between Horse 2 and Centaur 7?No way I know of. The meshes have completely different numbers of vertices and vertex orders. So morph loader pro would certainly not work, and I don’t think there are any products that support this transfer.
Commisioning religious portraitA middle-eastern ethnic morph and texture set would be good, too...he was not a western European man!

Clothing acts as if Morphs are at 0 when reloading a SceneIs the morph used saved as a Morph Asset? This seems to happen if the morph is simply saved with the scene.
Can morphs be transfered between Horse 2 and Centaur 7?As I understand it, the Centaur 7 geografts are based on the Daz Horse 2 model. So, I was wondering if it would be possible to transfer additional morphs for the horse to the centaur, via Morph Loader or any other means. For example, could someone that has the Horse 2, Lovable Llamas, and at least one of the Centaurs transfer the llama morph to the centaur geograft so that they can make a llamataur? If so, how would they go about doing that?
Confused on game usage...You don't have to buy the Pro bundle, if you are only going to use Michael 8, and not any of the hair, clothes, other skins or poses in the bundle. Just buy Michael 8 and his interactive license. Remember, if you use any morph products, hair, clothes, skins, etc. you need to buy the interactice license for those, too.
Sundress for G8Fno nose, you are correct. It doesn't follow poses. If you want it to, you can open the transfer tool, select G8F as source, Dress as destination and select knee length dress. If you do this you will lose the bones for posing the skirt individually but you will gain the bones that will automagically pose it with the thigh movements. It will not look very good that way (in my experience) but it would work that way. For full skirts I've found that to be somewhat unsatisfactory for my purposes but your mileage may vary.
You see I do still renders so for me posing the helper bones (left front, right front, etc) makes a better looking and more natural render. But if you want it to follow the thighs you can do as I suggest above.
It's My Party and I'll Complain If I Want To Complaint ThreadStill working on transferring to Ed's computer. Win 7 to Win 7, used Easy Transfer. Need another handy 6 of Shiner.
How is Ed? Tell him he is missed.
Sorry, I have no contact with him. It's a 4-hr bus ride to the place, 30 minute visit, than 4 hrs back home. No can do.
How to apply Tranfer Utility on altered shapes?Projection templates aren't going to help here. Just try lining the plane up with the zeroed figure's back, export/import so it is baked in that position, then do the Transfer Utility.
That's the point... I'm able to easily conform everything on a zeroed figure... But this time I need to to do on the morphed and posed figure.

Anyway I'll try what you said, thanks Richard!
Clothing acts as if Morphs are at 0 when reloading a SceneFigures - G3F - Morph Loader Pro - Create Morph - Result = Pic A
Saving as Scene
Reloading Scene = Pic B
Why?

Fixing Collisions - GamePrintTo be honest, I have never needed to do this, so I can only point you to answers given by other forum-goers. This looks like a nice step-by-step guide: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/122046/is-it-possible-to-save-the-results-of-smoothing-as-a-morph
And this, while not what you were looking for, seems like a very nice trick to have in the bag, so I'd rather mention it: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/65857/useful-tip-for-the-day
Genesis 3 gets deformed when posingOK, since zeroing the shape fixes it that means a morph is being applied on load - if you load a base figure (not a character), select the figure, and in the Parameters pane's Editor tab click Currently Used, what is listed?
How to apply Tranfer Utility on altered shapes?I managed to obtain some result from your last post!
I reimported the cloth as OBJ (It looks exactly like in the second picture of my last post) and used Transfer utility on it. The cloth got skyrocketed somewhere next to the ceiling.
Then I added the morph using the same OBJ and selecting the "Reverse deformation". Now moving the slider the cloth returns to its original position and shape but still doesn't follow the girl's back.So I redid the Transfer Utility on the cloth. It kept its shape and started following correctly the upper part of the back (Chest area) but the shoulders and the other part of her back seems to have little influence on it and the hips have none.
I'm getting close, anyway!

P.S.
I did another try with another scene, this time it follows only the Hip node ignoring all the rest of the body. When doing the Tranfer Utility I notced the Projection Template is disabled in the first and second use.
