  • (Released) - East Asian Men for Genesis 8 Male (Commercial)

Is it too late to put in a request that the moles be movable/morphable? That way if you have a twin, or want to use the character with morph modification, you can move it to another spot on the face/neck etc? Or at the least, able to be hidden? Not sure if that is possible?

  • OT: New Nvidia Cards to come in RTX and GTX versions?! RTX Titan first whispers.
Here's what the NVIDIA website says: "The GeForce RTX NVLink™ bridge connects two NVLink SLI-ready graphics cards with 50X the transfer bandwidth of previous technologies. This means you can count on super-smooth gameplay at maximum resolutions with ultimate visual fidelity in GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and 2080 graphics cards." And nothing about memory stacking.

Hmm ok, so the SLI term is here to stay? Guess I had the wrong idea. SLI has such negative connotation, would have thought they would replace it. But maybe the underlying tech is still SLI, just much faster with NVLINK.

SLI means "Scalable Link Interface" which sounds like a rather generic term which can be used in many different contexts.

  • Wildcard for FBX Morph Export Rules?

    Hello!

I'd like to know if there's a wildcard (like an asterisk) for the FBX Morph Export Rules that would check / export all morphs.

    Thank you!

  • A G3F/G8F version of Minotaur / horse legs

I wish to commission (or at least discuss the possibility) a G8 (F and M) version of the legs from "Minotaur 6 HD for Genesis 2 Male(s)"

There is a morph for that product in the Dione Unicorn Girl HD by Raiya https://www.daz3d.com/dione-unicorn-girl-hd-for-victoria-6 to make it more "horsey".

Of if you know already an other product available for minotaur/horse/animals geografted legs for G8 or at least G3.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

  • More diversity

Until you actually read how much of your favorite characters (or favorite parts) list things like...

    https://www.daz3d.com/leony-hd-for-victoria-8

Meet Leony, a gorgeous beauty for Victoria 8. This pack includes:

    • Custom Look at Me HD Eye Geometry and Eyelashes that can be applied to any other Genesis 8 Female Character
    • Custom 3D Eyebrows especially designed for Leony's Face and Textures
    • Separate Head and Body Morph with slight facial asymmetry
    • Separate Head and Body HD details (build resolution 4)
    • Separate HD Navel Morph
    • High-Quality Textures created from scratch from HD photo resources
    • LIE Dirty Skin Overlay Preset
    • Normal Maps - normal face map created from photometric surface scans

And not even touching the many that say they are a custom Z-Brushed sculpted  figures.

Morphs won't get you there no matter how 'creative' you are.

  • G8F: Height changing body morphs break IK. Figure jumps up or down when moving body parts

For those who are still experiencing this problem, here's a quick guide on how to "fix" this issue while we wait for the official fix in the next DAZ release

    * Select your figure and go to the Property Hierachy Pane.
    * Navigate to Bones -> Hip -> Controllers -> 1st Stage
      - Any of the items in this list may cause this problem. So, I'm afraid this will be trial-and-error.
    * Select one of the properties
      - In the example I'm providing here, PBMLegsLength is the morph that was causing trouble.
    * Right click on the property -> Remove Selected
    * Try moving the figure. If the problem persists, select another property and remove it until you find the right one.
      - If you already know which morphs/shapes you've applied to your figure, then it's going to be one of those.

What happens after I remove this property?

These properties are used to move the Hip of the figure so that the feet remain on the ground in the zero position. For instance, in my case, PBMLegsLength was used to keep the figure on the ground while the legs increase or decrease in size. After removing this property, the feet either grow below the ground or the figure starts hovering above it.

    How do I fix it?

Ctrl+D will reset the figure's position to the ground. Or manually move the Hip to keep the feet where they should be.

  • Body Morph Kit by SF-DESIGN

How do I get a hold of the creator of this kit?

There is a problem with the height body BMK dial, if you are using expressions where the eyes are looking down or in general, having your figures eyes looking downward, the eyes of the male figure bug out!

I don't have anything for G8 except the base morph sets and Shape Shifter at the moment, haven't felt the need to upgrade quite yet.  :)   Thanks very much for the link to that anime morph, it looks great!

  • Question about Rarestone's Face Morphs for Girl 8

Thanks. I'll probably wait for whichever goes on sale first.  ;)    I just need a little bit of toon morphing to get the result I want, so I might be OK with just the morphs themselves.

If you have Sakura 8 you should be able to dial her in a little bit to give a toon look. Aiko 8 might also do that. Here's also a great morph that's free that gives a cute toon look when dialed in: http://www.sharecg.com/v/88934/related/21/DAZ-Studio/Anime-Head-for-Genesis-8-Female-and-Male

  • Help With PARAMETERS MENU OPTIONS - MEMORIZE?

I use memorize in conjunction with 'restore', which is right below it on the menu. You can memorize a pose or shape, and it'll remember the settings until you use memorize again. By using restore, it returns the object to the memorized pose or shape.

I generally only use these when working on animations to correct mistakes (e.g., I'll build a pose but find out it's on the wrong frame -- memorize/restore lets me move the pose to the frame where I want it).

Not sure about transfer active morphs.

  • Help With PARAMETERS MENU OPTIONS - MEMORIZE?

I'm pretty sure memorize is the equivalent of the Pose dots in Poser; it's a temporary way to store a single 'state' that you can revert to if necessary. They only last as long as that figure is in the scene if I remember and are not saved upon closing Studio. They seem to be most useful for memorizing either a zero pose to revert to quickly, or a pose that you like but want to experiment on with the option to revert if things go wrong.

Transfer Active Morphs, I'm not so sure on.

  • Help With PARAMETERS MENU OPTIONS - MEMORIZE?

The Parameters pane dropdown menu options lists options I can't figure out.

I don't understand the concept of memorize.  Memorize figure?  What exactly is being memorized?  The parameter settings?  After they are memorized what happens to them?  What do you do with them?  Are they stored somewhere?  Can you print a list of them?  How long are they memorized for?

Same with "Memorize Figure Pose" and "Memorize Figure Shape" - and how is this different from just saving them to a library?

Near the bottom of the option menu is "Transfer Active Morphs".  Assuming you have a figure selected, and you click on "Transfer Actife Morphs" - what happens?  What morphs are transfered?  The morphs on the selected figure?  Where are they transfered to?

    Thanks!

  • D-Force rifle sling.

I have several rifle props and only one or two of them have slings (with very rigid morphs). Im not good enough with photoshop to draw one in. It dosent have to be accurate, but it would be nice if the sling had a variable length, a few MAT colors, etc. Also, I would need to parent the sling to the rifle (duh) and be able to move the two ends of the sling to anywhere on the front/back of the rifle (full x,y,z translation and rotation). Perhaps the sling could have a loop (plastic/metal) or something at either end of it. Also, a tighten after simulation morph to take out excess slack would be cool. Maybe a pistol lanyard could make this a more complete set? Maybe one or two basic weapons could be included to make a sellable package? A few poses?

  • Question about Rarestone's Face Morphs for Girl 8

    https://www.daz3d.com/rarestones-face-morph-collection-for-the-girl-8

Just a quick question for anyone who might have this set: it says Girl 8 is required, but I'd like to know if it is absolutely essential to be combined with these morphs to get similar results to those shown in the promo images. Do the morphs themselves have little effect without a Girl 8 morph applied as a base to build upon, or is Girl 8 recommended more for it's textures and a small increase to the toony style of these morphs?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have Girl 8, too, but I use the morphs for extra control over ANY G8F because I've had such pleasure using Rarestone's other morph sets. Since Girl 8 is used in the promos, I would think owning her would make it much easier to achieve similar results. It's my understanding/experience that the morphs are a means to DE-stylising Girl 8 rather than further toonifying her.

  • Animating The Hulk?

Ok, so I don't have an actual Hulk figure but I'll use Hulk to explain what I want to do. In a comic strip there may be three still frames in which Bruce Banner transforms into Hulk: (a) Banner gets angry, (b) Starts turning green and muscles expand and shirt rips and (c) Full green and huge in typical Hulk rage pose. Lets imagine I have three still scenes depicting those three stages but I want to make an animation using those three frames. So each of the stages would represent a keyframe on the timeline. Is this possible or would I have to re-create the poses and morphs in a single animated scene?

I have thought of saving stage each as a Character Preset or a Sub-Scene but I can't figure out how to comibine them in one timeline. The saved frames would need to contain pose, texture and morph information, obviously.

As I said, I'm just using the Hulk as an example because it illustrates pretty well what I'm looking to do.

  • Smart Content Issues

You don't need the My Daz Connect Library under the daz Studio Formats/Poser Formats headings, unless you've installed content there manually or through DIM. You do need the folder DIM installs to sekected for both, though. Your folders don't actually have to be called My Library etc. - those are merely the default names.

Fourth generation content (Victoria 4 etc.), at least for the various ExP morph expansions, can't be installed through Connect at this time; other than that you can use whichever method suits you.

  • SimTenero Randomizer2 (Commercial)

I thought the $20 price point (with applicable discounts) was pretty fair. Potentially a meaningful chunk of my Sale Budget, but I expect it to help me get a lot more out of my various morph packs and morphable props -- way more than $20 worth. That's the magic of utility-price evaluation for me: I always end up comparing them to what I'd spend otherwise, or how much frustration they'll save me. They don't register as 'something new for my library' but function as a modifier on some (or, very rarely, all) of my library to increase the overall value.
I'm one of those coming to the software fresh, though, not as an upgrade.

  • G3F Eyes Gone Wonky

A morph you are using may be to blame. This can occur when someone is saving the morph and isn't perhasp as selective as they can be with the Joint Editor. To determine if it is a morph to blame, bring up all the morphs currently used while the eyes are askew and turn them off one by one. When the eyes properly align, you have the culprit.

    Hope this helps.
