Some Victoria 4.2 shape++ morphs don't shown in the shaping panel list
If this is your first time using them, V4 must have the morph targets initialized before they can be loaded. (This should have been done automatically when installing with DIM or Central, but it will not work with Connect. Long story). If you use the Power Loader (the default action, unless you changed it at some point), you can generated the needed files by selecting "Generate ExP Files" at the bottom of the Advanced -> Parameters tab of the Power Loader: Import dialog and checking those morph packages that you want to use. (Note; this only needs to be done once, you can uncheck the Generate ExP files box the next time).
If you have done all that, you need to load them onto V4. They won't load automatically unless you check the box in the Power Loader before loading, or go to the Poser Formats library -> Pose -> DAZ's Victoria 4 -> Morph Injections and apply INJ Morphs++ V4 after loading a V4 character.
The aren't always at the top level of the hierarchy. For example, all the head morphs are located only on the head, so you must select the head node to see them. Go through the various nodes of the skeleton and you will get a different set of morphs for each.
Some Victoria 4.2 shape++ morphs don't shown in the shaping panel listHello, I'm going crazy trying to find morphs, but without success. Can anyone help me out? Thank you.
Buongiorno, sto impazzendo nel tentativo di trovare dei morphs, ma senza successo. Qualcuno può darmi una mano? Grazie.
Why is this happeningAt this point i have tried almost all the suggestions that were given...but to no avail...when i work with the viewport it just keeps crashing.
So right now i am planning to completely uninstall Studio 4.15 and i am going to roll back to 4.14 (if at all possible) to see and hope that i get no more crashes (or at least fewer ones)
The only thing that i dont know if the new Victoria 8.1 will also work in previous Daz versions?...or is it a must to have the latest version of Studio?...
Desolate lair of the sullen Fox // WIPs, reviews, escapism //Looks like, at least in the case of Electro hair, the UV is straightforward: a strand is a "plane", tip at the top. Kinda cool.
I spent a while poking around at morph conversions and ultimately decided to try out the commercial route by the late great Dimension3D - GenX2. I had gotten quite a lot of use of his Morphing Clothes utility back in the day... and GenX2 turned out to have a way of porting Laura/Luke and Maddie/Matt to the Genesis line, which was an unexpectedly awesome bonus. So... yes it was worth the investment (this latest sale was good, to boot). Now I can use all my favourite Gen3 heads and skins on G3F, with minimal effort. I don't transfer body morphs because I don't want to deal with JCMs and other rigging adjustments (no FBM conversions are ever 100% usable without all that, it's simply a given).
G3F because it's the only figure that has Gen3 UVs, thanks to Cayman Studio's "experimental" product. And with Agent Unawares' "Transgender" freebie, it's possible to turn G3F into a male figure. Isn't it awesome?
Why "with minimal effort" and not "without effort"... because it does need a bit more work than just running the scripts/plugins. Getting from Gen3 to G3 requires intermediaries (Genesis and G2); their built-in clones aren't 100% accurate; all that introduces a certain measure of error to the morph, so you need to finetune it. Still, all the unpleasant and boring stuff like adjusting teeth position etc is handled by the GenX2 plugin. It even automagically smoothed the transition between the A3R head and everything else. Oldtimers will know what I mean :))) Hallelujah big time.
...incidentally, anyone old enough to remember the days when Gillan joined DP and they covered this quirky song? I've always wondered what it could have been like, to witness the birth of those classic lineups...
...and many years later BG covered that cover :P
There's a certain lip contour mismatch, at least when it comes to M3 - I'll need to find out if it gets introduced due to the morph conversion process or if it's an underlying issue of the UV map.
Conversion will also mess up the eyeballs most of the time... but I didn't actually ever plan to use G3F vanilla eyes. Even venerable eye replacers Blackhearted made for GND2 are better than those. There are Arki's EYEdeas (oldie but goldie, y'know), there are Raiya's Look at Me HD eyes... anything but those vanilla ones.
Moving to the G3F base also means I can finally use fibermesh eyelashes and eyebrows with those characters. Of course, with Laura- and A3R-based morphs - the most difficult ones - the lashes need quite a lot of adjustment, but it's still better than transmaps.
This is an "M3X" with Black(hearted) eyes (V3 "dark blue" colour, I like those maps better than M3's own), OnFleek brows (freebie by AprilYSH) and Soto's Lashes Utilities, wearing Army Uniform for G3F.
This uniform has this weird t-shirt that somehow renders with artefacts from certain angles with any sort of relief mapping enabled - that's a first for me... I tried its own maps and a number of tiles, bump, normal - still much the same ( the renders use this tiling normal map: https://polyhaven.com/a/fabric_pattern_05 ). Its own maps - all of them - have baked-in shadows in creases, to boot. I mean... why.

Has your purchase patterns increased? Decreased? Or remained about the same?I'm spending about the same, but how/what I buy has changed. With the increase in prices, and the change in style/type of content/figures DAZ is making, there is less incentive for me to buy any of the bundles (only have 3 G8 Pro bundles, and one G8.1 bundle). It's also a very rare occasion that I participate in the "buy this to get a price break on that" sales because seldom do I want any of the "buy this" items, and having stuff I'll never use is not really productive for me.
I tend to only purchase items I'm very sure I will use. Of course, I've been here since 2004, so that is no doubt a huge factor. With Genesis 8 and 8.1 my purchases of pro/starter bundles and the more recent type of bundles, has really dropped off. There haven't been many that were must haves for me. The product quality/details for a lot of DAZ Originals clothing simply isn't what I want. Again, paying for something I will probably never use to get a couple of discounted items I will use doesn't make sense for me. I'm also not a big fan of most of the new DAZ named G8/G8.1 characters, they just aren't my style. While I do have a bit of interest in some of them, I'm not interested in them at the typical prices when I can get a non-named HD character or PA HD character that I really like for much less.
Victoria for Genesis 8.1 was the first time I didn't get the new Victoria figure since getting Victoria 3. I just couldn't justify the cost for the quality. The character is great, but those tattoos!! While being great art creations, they looked more like body paint than tattoos. I'm just not going the pay a big price for something I have to "fix". The cloths in the bundles are also not as detailed as what I really want. For example, I'm looking for the details/quality of Aeon Soul or Linday. IMHO it seems a bit odd that most of the named G8/G8.1 characters seem to be pushing more toward the realistic end of things, yet many the cloths in the bundles fit better with a more toon/stylized figure (seriously, look at most of the boots, not very realistic details, mats, or shaders).
The only 8.1 bundle I've purchased was Cleopatra, and that was because I inadvertently checked the price in my cart during a store glitch and it was too good to pass up. It's interesting to note though that she is a more stylized figure, and I felt she fit well with her bundle, and the bundle was something I will use. I was very tempted to get the Topsy bundle(s). I thought everything fit well together, but was a bit out of my price range, I did get Topsy for $5 in the sale yesterday .... WooHoo!!
So to make a long story short (too late for that), I probably am not spending a lot less here now, though probably a bit less just due to the current situation and lost income. I am a lot more discount aware than I used to be. Over the past year I've bought very few items during the introductory sales. Most of my purchases are a minimum 50% off, but usually 65% off or more. There is also less in the store that I really want .I really like fantasy, and fantasy "skimpwear", something DAZ is moving away from it seems.
I've got to add that the PC+ for a day sales have caused me to spend more than I would have this year. Too many really great items to pass on!!!

1. Which model are you using? I am guessing the purple is makeup. There might be a "natural" or no makeup option.
2. The 8.1 characters have a "tear" preset. I believe this is designed to make the eyes look moist which could be causing the reflections. I think this can be turned off. Reducing the glossiness of the cornea might also help.
3. Adjusting the glossiness on the teeth may help.
4. When I google images of fingernails some are rather pink and others have a paler hue. This may be an area that falls into personal preference.
I'm using V8 with a bunch of face & body morphs. Easier way to adjust inner eyelid? Your suggestion about makeup seems right on the money. Example is quick .png file made by drawing bright blue over face texture. Since the eyes are closed, tweaking that one is going to be hard. Is there another texture file I should look at?
As for the eyes... If light sometimes glances off schlera, try cornea anyway? Sorry if I sound brain-dead. I appreciate your being patient with me.

The eye is made up of 3 different surfaces: Iris, Cornea and Sclera. On the Cornea Glossy Reflectivity is at the default setting of 1.0. I turn that off, down to zero, but I did not see a difference in the shininess of the eye surface when I rendered.
If you haven't tried it already you could try the Noise Degrain Filtering and/or Post Denoiser in the Filtering tab.
I do not know which other figures you may own so I applied Genesis 8.0 skin maps to Victoria 8. I am attaching renders of the results. I do not see the purple colour on the eyelids so this may be an option?
There are various morphs for the eyes, which I am guessing you have tried already. Have you looked in the Pose settings under the Parameters Tab? There are options for the lower eyelid in there as well that might help with the issue you are having with the lower eyelid.
I hope something here helps.
Selling products (none Daz store)Yes, you can put any 2D render of content from ther Daz store on a mug or shirt or whatever and sell it - the only exceptions would be cheats, for example putting a texture on a plane and rendering it flat on (which would effectively be giving away the original map) and the (now very old) Anne Marie Goddard digital Clone for Victoria 3 which did add a few additional restrictions.
Was the V4 Era the Golden Age of Creativity?
As someone who was around in the era it has one insurmountable sticking point for me. I see v4 and creativity and my brain immediately goes "wait. The era where I was limited to shaping my figure by whatever morphs the clothing maker decided to add as fits was a golden era of creativity? Because man did that make me feel incredibly creatively stymied." There were (incredibly painful and clunky) work around and things started to improve at the very end, but did find it incredibly creatively limiting. Genesis came with automatic auto follow for morphs, not having to deal with injecting morphs (it was also much easier to make morphs for, I don't think it's a coincidence that this is the era I started making my own morphs, which I would consider an expansion of my creative abilities) I jumped on Genesis train immediately and never looked back. And it really primarily was because I found it much easier to match my creative vision. As an example: I loved Stephanie 4. I probably used her more as a morph for Genesis, than I did as a morph for v4. Frequently with clothing I had transferred to Genesis from v4 as well. Steph 4 came out very late in the v4 era, so almost no clothing had fits for her. It was genuinely easier for me to transfer her and v4 clothing to Genesis to get them to actually fit her. Tldr while there is stuff from the era I have nostalgia for, I have very little for the era itself, almost entirely because I found it an era of creative frustration.Torquinox said:Masterstroke said:

There's no argument in the technology having advanced tremendously since V4 era, but that's not what's being discussed here.
I dont think anybody claims V4 was technologically better than the current models, far from it, so there's no point in kicking the dead dog, that's not even on the table.
I disagree. It is exactly, what is discussed. Great for you, when it was all fine for you and you were happy with what you have got.
The frustration for me at that time has been a fact, and it blocked all the creativity.
I remember wondering, when we will be having better tools and content in all those stores.
Sorry, I just don't consider thousends of -Victoria 4 as a pixie on a mushroom in a forrest- renders as the golden age of creativity.I understand that frustration. I am coming at it from an after-the-fact perspective. For me, she's still fun because I have just about every enhancement ever made for her along with newer versions of DS and some content made well after her heyday ended. If I had suffered along for years and years as the products developed, I would likely feel differently about it. I do think there is more to the content than pixies on a mushroom, but that's quibbling.
Naturally, the newer figures and their content have a lot to recommend them. The part that I find a little frustrating is that we still have not escaped the need for aftermarket helper morphs and enhancements, even on the latest figures. Also, I'm a little alarmed that recent content has become very heavy, downloads increasingly measured in Gb instead of Mb. My next computer definitely gets bigger harddrives!

Yes, your right, and I wonder if it will ever work without extra helper morphs. The point is that I don' t have to spend as much time anymore to fix joint issues. I can focus now more on my scene, instead of painting over a twisted shoulder joint.
I am exited to see what future figure rigging system will do.
lol: the amount of data has become ridiculous. Just for comparison: I had a 20 gig hard drive, when I started with Poser 4.Was the V4 Era the Golden Age of Creativity?Masterstroke said:

tara 2 product issuehello guys, i'm having a annoying issue with a "character" from daz, this one:
https://www.daz3d.com/tara-2-hd-for-victoria-7-victoria-8
my issue is which it's seens to be conflicting with something in daz, if i'm staling the product "early" it appear normally but later as i'm keep installing new products(i didn't pay attention to what is the product conflicting with it), at one point it start to display as "not installed anymore or as "available" instead of installed, then i need to uninstall and go online and install ir using the smart content install inside daz, installing that way the product appear but however doing that it can make some conflict and issues in my daz, because i'm installing it in a secondary HD, and don't want to install anything in my primary which is another issue since the "smart" install it on the primary and i don't find a way to change it.
anyone had this issue as well and know how to fix it???
Was the V4 Era the Golden Age of Creativity?Sometimes I use V4. Victoria 4 doesn't use a lot of video card memory. I use V4 and Genesis 1. I hardly use Genesis 3 or 8. I do have old projects with Victoria 4 that I want to finish. Plus, I bought a ttton of clothes and hair for her. I might as well use these clothes and hair on V4 and Genesis 1. I gotta run and do some chores.

Possibly this with some 3rd party shader. It has a ton of morphs so can be shaped in many ways, and the character could very well be a G2F.

Forgot to add that I think you are right about it being a custom shader for the hair.

You nailed it with the Janna hair, thanks! I was looking in my G3/G8 libraries and didn't even think of checking G2.
