How to make muscle morph load?
OK, go to C:\Users\owner\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Runtime\libraries\!DAZ and double-click DzCreateExPFiles-M4.bat, then try loading a fresh Michael 4 and injecting the morphs - you don't have to do it one by one, there should be an inject all pose for each set in the main Morph Injections folder.
How to make muscle morph load?> What happens if you right-click on the Shaping pane’s tab and select Show Hidden properties - do you see greyed out channels for the morphs?
Yes, the settings appeared greyed out, I've attached a screenshot

There only appears to be one. In C:\Users\owner\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Runtime\libraries\!DAZ has:

I used the exe installers for all the model content. I was not able to to get the "DAZ 3D Install Manager 1" program to work at all. When I run it from the desktop it makes an hourglass mouse for a few seconds then goes back to normal. Task manager shows that it creates a process that pegs one of the CPUs at 100% but it never shows a window or anything.
So, I downloaded the 30 or so exe installers for all the models and ran them individually.

How to solve model broken?
I obtain the advice of your.
Noob question on contentThe adult fourth generation content is all variations on the base Victoria 4 and Michael 4 - new morphs, and clothing and textures. The Genesis/fifth generatio stuff is all add-ons for Genesis, though if a character says it needs one of the other "figures" it probably does need the UV set that tells Genesis how to wrap the texture around itself - clothes and morphs, however, will usually work with just the base figure. Genesis can also use textures from the fourth geenration figures, and can convert clothing via AutoFit.
Version compatibilityHi, would the Michael 4 Long Beard work on Genesis Michael 5? I'm still not clear if older versions can be used. I'm looking for a product like the Beard for M5. Is there anything available?

This means it should take M4 poses well, and the head should take M4 head textures. The only thing that might not be possible will be M4 morphs.
Yeah, I only worked this out last night, and felt rather stupid :p

Adventure Land Outfit for Genesis [Commercial}Sorry to necromance this thread, but given the new capabilities of the next iteration of Poser (namely, the Fitting Room), I was wondering if Adventure Land supported the Michael 4 morph (for Genesis)? It's the only Gen4 shape I don't see listed in the morph (despite seeing derivatives of M4, like H4 and F4).

The thumbnails say "_inj", or "_mat"... in their names. Also, they correspond to pz2 files.
I cant say if it shows in the smart content window... they are not objects, just morphs and skins and stuff like that, for applying to v4 chars.
Got absolutely lost in you explanation, it soesnt seem to apply...
Thank you very much again :)The instructions still apply to INJ and MAT files. You say that it's in their file names. What I was referring to is the colored overlay on the thumbnails indicating the file type. In my pics below, see how some say "Shape" and others do not? Or "Material(s)" or not? These overlays need to be there for Smart Content to recognize the files. Use the Content DB Editor as described above to set the files as such.
In my other picture, I show the Smart Content tab. In the left side, you see Michael 4 listed, but in the right half it says "No Selection". This is the difference between having an object declared in DAZ or not. If Michael 4 was not declared (Set Scene Identification), then none of the materials or INJ poses would show in Smart Content.
None of it show in the smart content tab... but i've categorized other morphs and skins etc that didnt show there, and it worked.
Thank you again, gotta go to work now. :)Categorize won't workiruchema said:Thanks for answering :)

In DAZ 4.5, im trying to categorize items from the poser folder and, well, it doesnt work. The category is created, i select all the items (morphs, poses, whatever), right-click and categorize-it, check the desired category, accept, not shown :P (yes, i refreshed, wont work). This doesnt happen with all the folders, only some, that apparently do not have anything different than the ones that works.
Any ideas?Thank you very much!!
First thing that comes to mind, I wonder if you have declared each item as its type? For example, do poses say "Pose" at the top of the thumbnail, materials say "Material" or are they not labeled? Depending on your answer, here are some possible solutions:
If they are NOT already set at Poses, Materials, etc in DAZ Studio, you need to designate them as such by going into the Content DB Editor and set each type as appropriate. This should probably solve your problem, but may not if....
Your item (shirt, pants, Michael 4, whatever) is not declared in DAZ. What I mean by this is, when you select the item in the scene tab, does its name show up in your Smart Content window at the top, or does it say "No Selection"? If DAZ doesn't know your selected item's name, it won't show materials or poses for that item in Smart Content. Let's use a pretend product called BigDogShirt as an example. What you have to do is select BigDogShirt in the scene tab, then go to Edit:Object:Scene Identification or Edit:Figure:Scene Identification or use the scene tab context menu and select Edit:Scene Identification.
Whichever route you choose, a pop-up window will appear. Select the ... after Compatibility Base. A very long list will appear and you must choose your object from that list. If BigDogShirt is not in the list, which is most often the case with items that do not have metadata supplied with them, you must select the upper right menu and create a new root compatibility base. Name it BigDogShirt or whatever name is showing in your scene tab and hit Accept. Hit Accept again to close the pop-up.
In your scene tab, deselect the item, then reselect it. If you look at your Smart Content tab, it should now show the name of the object. Any materials you have for BigDogShirt should now show up in the Smart Content window. If they do not, then you need to make sure they are declared as compatible with BigDogShirt. To do this, once again open up the Content DB Editor, select all of the materials (or poses, whatever) from the top list. They will now appear listed in the bottom half of the window. Click on Compatibility, then select all of the materials in the bottom half. Right click and select Add Compatibilities to Selected Files. That same window with the huge list will pop up. Select BigDogShirt from the list and hit Accept.
That, in the longest description, is how to set metadata for items in your content library. Now, whenever you Categorize something, as long as everything is set as above, the items will appear in the correct category.
I hope it's not too confusing. I should probably do some screen captures to help.
LUX render - give it to me straightsgreco1970 said:SimonJM said:Strange - can't see the jewelry props/figures listed on that! In any event I don't have them so can't help by trying them out, sorry.oh wait, they just used them in the promo. As i recall I had to write to that artist and ask what product he used and then found it; I dont even remember which it was, sadly. At any rate, it seems odd they come out white instead of taking in their texture maps. Hmm
It's a "bracelet" from the Giacomo for M4 character set. It does not load with any textures applied, you have to add them through matpose files. That said, even with textures applied, they render white in Lux unless you lower the specular color to a dark gray (about 64,64,64) as HeraldOfFire pointed out.

Well thanks so much for the compliment... I hope you are enjoying the set.
As far as Genesis goes... no lol I dont have anything against it, really. The problem is, as a poser developer, many of my customers are Poser users, so I don't want to drop support for those people, who are still buying and using gen 4. I figure remaining as the way I do it now, will make it so anyone (either Poser or DS people) can use the set. It just doesn't support the latest and greatest.
Also, with my sets, they tend to have a lot of morphs to them, and sometimes, so much else in them even other than that, so doing a conversion is often difficult. I'd be veritably spending the same amount of time to develop it and not quite sure how the returns on that would be. So to present, I haven't done any conversions of my stuff (though, that could always change at some point)
Also, my experience with Genesis and the new tech is minimal. I have done some stuff with it, but its not as advanced as my knowledge of the traditional rigging system. Often, coz of that, its even more difficult to convert it over to Genesis... like for instance, the Easy Pose loin cloth in this set. And well, Im sure it can be done with enough time and practice. But finding the time is difficult, as Im usually making new stuff. My last attempt at a conversion was Godspeed, and well, its still waiting to be finished lol (hopefully, eventually, I will)
That said, I am sure I will support Genesis sometime in the future with clothing. I am going to actually be working on something for Genesis here, next.... but its not clothing. Baby steps, I guess lol
Edited to add: BTW nice job on your render! I did manage to see it before it was removed.

GenX - what package to useIt depends on whether you want convert generation 3 figures or generation 4, or both.
Genesis Generation X is the main item and you can convert Victoria 4 and Michael 4 to Genesis with them (works for other Gen 4 figures too, because V4 and M4 are base figures and the other figures are sort of morphs for them).
If you want Gen. 3 figures too, then there are add-ons for GenX in the shop, it depends which Gen 3 figures you want to convert.
If you want to convert all Gen 3 and Gen 4 figures, then you need GenX and add-ons for all Gen 3 figures.
Trouble understanding what I need to buy to make certain products work.Clothing made for Victoria 4, Michael 4, or Kids 4 will Auto-Fit to Genesis. The fit isn't always perfect (especially for shoes and long dresses) but usually it works pretty well. You can Auto-Fit clothing for Victoria 3 to Genesis if you own the Victoria 3 for Genesis shape: http://www.daz3d.com/v3-and-m3-shapes-for-genesis (also available as part of this bundle: http://www.daz3d.com/gen-3-iconic-shapes-for-genesis)
I'm not sure how that coat would work, but everything else should fit fine, I would guess...if you try it and aren't satisfied, you can return the items for credit or a refund, as long as it's within 30 days of purchase.
