  • Animation - aniMate - Is This A Bug?

    Lord_Ashes said:
    It seems that this post has somewhat diverted to solving my animation problem as opposed to discussing the actual problem that I was trying to identify:

    I occasionally had problems setting a y translation in a key frame. I would set it, go to a different frame, return back to the key frame in which I set it and it would not be applied anymore.

    If I understand you correctly you want to edit an aniBlock? If you want to do that you need to set it to a different level.
    To do that, leftclick on the aniBlock. It will turn from blue to grey and the name of the aniBlock is replaced with the text "Double click for keyframes".

    Either do that or click on the "Go into Keyframe mode" icon, which is located left of the "Speed" setting box (where it says "100%").

    Right of the Keyframe mode icon there is the Keyframe Level selector (a dropdown list). Set this from "Base" to a different level.

    If you now edit translation/rotation/etc. parameters, it won't revert anymore and keep that values.

    Keep in mind that after you finished your edits and saved your edited aniBlock, you'll have to set the Level back to "Base" or it will stay at that level you've chosen. It won't reset to "Base" automatically.

    If you're looking for premade stairwalk animations, ANYMATTER of shareCG has already done some very nice aniBlocks. They are contained in his animated poses collection:
    (http://www.sharecg.com/v/64032/gallery/11/Poser/100++-animated-poses-for-poser-daz3d)
    You may need to edit the starting points, cause they're a little bit off. But that's only a few minutes work if you know what you're doing.
    The "walking on stairs aniblocks.rar" inside the "walkcycle" directory. They were created for Victoria/Michael 4 but will work for Genesis, too if you correct the foot and hip offsets or use this (http://www.sharecg.com/v/67223/view/21/DAZ-Studio/Genesis-Pose-Adjust-aniBlock) on a Sub-track.

  • DAZ 3D 4.6 To Carrarra 8.0.1.45

    HI DeadCode3

    You can only load files from Daz Studio 4.6,. into the "Beta" version of Carrara 8.5

    Carrara 8.1 will work with Poser format figures like Victoria 4, Michael 4 and previous Daz3D Figures, but not Genesis.

    Poser 9, or 2012 needs the "DSON importer for Poser" installed, ..to use Genesis.

    If you have Carrara 8. then you should also have the current beta version in your Account.
    that will open a Studio 4.6 scene, but the beta also allows you to load and use Genesis, from the browser in carrara.
    and it's still better to load the figure directly,. rather than export / import.

    You can also save Poses,Characters, Materials as "presets" from Studio 4.6,. and Carrara will read those files.
    so you could load Genesis,. from the browser in Carrara,. then apply your Character, Pose, Material,... etc

    The 8.5 beta has a "Smart content" tab as well as the standard Content tab, for poser type Runtime'a and DS's My Library folders.

    Hope that makes sense

  • LOD for Michael 4?

    There is a LOD for M4, because I have it.
    Where it came from is another thing, maybe the M4 Morphs++ bundle? I don;t have any of the M4 Pro bundles as far as i know. They are in the same folder as the V4 ones, Geometries > DAZ People.

    I just checked in DIM, and they come as part of the Michael 4 Base installer.

  • LOD for Michael 4?

    I was going to model a steampunk helmet/aviator's cap for M4 and V4... I don't need or want to bother with the full resolution figure, around 4-17k is just fine... I did V4 first (at 17k) no problems... then went to do M4... cant find the LOD in DAZ studio or in Poser.
    I looked everywhere, but I don't see it... I found an archived DAZ forum thread from 2009 where someone asked the same question- the reply was (back then) that DAZ did not make one.
    Is this still so?
    Thanks in advance.

  • DIM stopped connecting to account

    Sorry to be such a bug... but I have a question about the DIM and content that came with the Daz book. I bought the book from here, so Daz should have a record that I own that content, but it's not showing me as having purchased Morphs ++ for Michael 4 or Hiro 4, or any of the other stuff that was part of that purchase. Does anyone know what I should do about that? How do I get that info updated in the DIM?

    Also some purchases are not showing up in the DIM installer, but if I go to the download page in the Product Library it shows a DIM download... but if I download it, it's not going to my DIM download folder. I tried putting it in the same folder manually, but it's not showing in the DIM. Is there some way to get that stuff into the DIM manually??

    Thanks. :-)

  • missing files for Stolz for Genesis

    I have Stoltz and I've done some checking. I like the character a lot, but he should never have been listed as being for M5. That's a thing that DAZ seemed to make vendors do, even when it's very deceptive. Unfortunately, Stoltz doesn't use the M5 shape, and apart from the genitalia, he doesn't use the M5 UVs. There's really nothing about him that requires Michael 5, especially if you don't want to use the Genesis Male Genitalia.

    Stoltz comes with two shapes as presets in his People\Genesis\Characters\Phoenix1966\Stoltz directory, as well as an "Actor" that calls both the shape and the texture at the same time. The "Body 2 - Apply" preset calls several Evolution morphs; for the shape of the body, it calls Basic Male -- which comes with Genesis Starter Essentials -- as well as Bodybuilder, Body Tone, Body Volume, Bodybuilder details, and all sorts of other shaping bits and pieces that only come with the Genesis Evolution Head and Body morphs. He's also got some other morphs that look like you might want to get Genesis Evolution Muscularity, although those are probably not absolutely necessary.

    The other preset has text underneath reading "Body - Apply", and the icon has Stoltz' body with "+ M4" on it. For that one to work at all, not only do you need Evolution Head and Body and Muscularity, but you also need the Michael 4 shape for Genesis. That one makes him a lot beefier and brawnier.

    For what it's worth, almost every single Genesis character sold here uses Evolution morphs in some way. You're not going to be able to move forward well without them. Most, although not all, of the male characters use the Michael 4 shape to some degree, although Michael 5 is finally making some progress.

  • Problems with M4 morphs install...

    The "must be installed to the Poser internal runtime" is a leftover from a problem that was fixed back in P7sr3. However, the morph packs MUST be installed to the same runtime as Michael 4 Base. To get around this, either (a) create a dummy file named poser.exe and put it in the folder containing the Runtime folder where Michael 4 Base is installed, or (b) select DAZ Studio instead of Poser as the target application -- the same files get installed, the only difference is that the program doesn't check for poser.exe.

    You don't need to install both the DIM files and the exe's -- choose one or the other.

  • Problems with M4 morphs install...

    Hi all,

    I've tried to search for the answer to this question, but I don't think I've exactly found it yet. I'll try to be as specific as possible. Basically, here's what's happening:

    So here's exactly what I bought and what is now in the Product library:
    M4 Hand Poses
    Michael 4 Base
    Michael 4 Morphs++
    Michael 4 Starter Bundle
    Jai Hair
    Michael 4 Skin Maps (Std Res)
    Stylin For M4
    Michael 4 Presets

    I installed Michael 4 Base into a new runtime folder called "Michael." It all worked. Yay.
    Then, I went on to the DIM files:
    Michael 4 Morphs++
    Download Direct Download 4.56 MB
    Michael 4 Genitalia
    Download Direct Download 72.63 KB
    Michael 4 Morphs++ PowerLoader
    Download Direct Download 45.26 KB
    Michael 4 Morphs++ Genitalia PowerLoader

    Those seemed to install okay. Maybe part of the problem is that I wasn't sure where to install these. Should they go into that outside Runtime folder (Michael) or the Poser 9 folder itself? Anyway, I tried both ways.

    Then the fun began...
    Everything started to go wrong when I tried to install 7878_1_dpc_M4Morphs.exe. I have screenshots of the results of each step... it seems like there's a way to post a file directly, but I can't find what it is. If anyone needs to see them, I'll attach them. Here's EXACTLY what happened:

    When I tried to install this file in the outside Michael folder (where the base figure actually is), the error message said: "When used with Poser TM, Michael ++ Morphs must be installed to the same directory as the application executable, due to restrictions on file support locations. Please select the directory that contains the Poser executable."

    Okay... let's try again.

    When I tried to install the file in the Poser 9 program folder, here was the error message:

    "The required file has NOT been found. Installation of Michael 4 ++ Morphs will now quit. Please contact [email protected] for more help."

    The thing is Poser 9 DOES have the poser.exe file, so I wouldn't think that would be the issue... anyway, I'm lost. And on top of it all, it's my birthday!! All help appreciated.

    Welcome to the freebie challenge; Lisa. A nice summer fun image.
    The page for the glass tabletop tetxure does not have a download link (perhaps you linked to the wrong page). Secondly we only allow a maximum of 3 freebies from a single "vendor" so I am not counting the last Most Digital Creations freebie.
    Unfortunately; this means you fall one short of the required number of freebies needed to qualify.

    If you can fix your second link; I will accept your entry.

    Is there any way to organize all the Genesis morphs into some semblance of order? They're all over the place. I've got an Actor/Female/Real World tree that's got all my Gen 3 and Gen 4 female characters in it, but another tree called Actor/Generation X that's got Michael 4 and Victoria 3. I've got Actor/Head and then Head by iteself which also has Gen 4 in it. And they've got different stuff in them. It's a total pain to try and find anything. I'm using Poser Pro 2014 and best I can tell, there's no search for morphs.

    Also, is there any way to limit a morph to a certain area or to extract a portion of it? I really like the cat ears that are part of the cat morph (who knows where it came from but it's installed). Unfortunately, it makes the entire head into a cat head. Is that just the way Genesis works? If somebody designs the morph to do the whole head, that's all it does? No cat-ear morph unless somebody makes one that just does the ears?

    Any short, short haircut for hiro3 to make a 9th Doctor?

    Try resizing Hellboy Soto's Shaved Hair for Michael 4 or use Archaeopterix' H3 scalp.

  • Help with terminology and file versions?

    Hi, I did some 3D studio max back in 2000-2005, but I'm basically starting fresh here and don't really understand exactly what I'm getting into. Here's my questions.

    1) Genesis, M4, morphs... Are the characters just better defined versions of Genesis?
    2) I see there's Michael 4 in the store, Michael 5, and a lot of the items I'm looking at require M4, but one requires M3. Are these updated versions, or actually parallel versions?
    3) If they are updated versions, should I get M5 to use with all the M4 items...?
    4) Daz3D has the best store, no doubt about it. I don't even understand how these other sites have made it to 2013 with their lousy search tools. With that said, there's a few Renderosity exclusives I want to purchase. If they work with Poser, how good are my "chances" that it'll work in Daz Pro 4.6? 50%? 95%? 99.9%?
    5) My goal is to create 2D images, like backgrounds for computers, with some touch-up in photoshop. What would be my "last step" in Daz3D before moving it to Photoshop?
    6) Why did the background image not show when I rendered the scene?
    7) What's the best tutorial(s) to start out on?

    THANK YOU!

  • Morph Loader error using blender: "One or more of the files loaded had no effect. See log for detail

    Michael 4 loads with the feet and legs out of the zero position. Since you've already made the morphs you could try using the reverse deformations option in Morph Loader Pro, which subtracts the current state of the figure from the morph, and in future zero the pose (right-click on the Parameters pane's tab, Zero>Zero Figure pose) before exporting. I'd forgotten about this, otherwise I'd have mentioned it as soon as I realised which figure you were using (all of the older DAZ figures load out of the zero pose, so it's something you need to check with all of them just as you need to check the mesh resolution with the newer figures which load with SubD applied).

  • M4 rigging anomoly

    When I load Michael 4 bones in the Poser setup room there is a bone that resembles genitalia and will not delete. It should not be genitalia as I have genitalia unchecked. It appears to not have a name and will not activate when clicked on. I tried this in Poser 6 and 8 setup room with same results.

    The bone also renders.

    Anyone know how to get rid of this critter?
