Not sure about Poser, but in Daz Studio I conform the cyborg figure to a Michael 4, setting M4 to not visible, then pose M4.

Michael 4 should be one of the basic UV sets, installed along with the rest of the Genesis Starter Essentials.

Just recently upgraded to the 4.6 version. Prior to this I was able to use M4 mats on Gen/M5. Now that I've upgraded to 4.6 Michael 4 is not being listed on the UV set? I use to have 4 or 5 different options here. How can I correct this and get those options back?

I am new to DAZ, but I am pretty upset that I have spent quite a bit of money on Michael 4 and sets for him, and I can only get less than half of the features to work.

I purchased STELLAR LEAGUE LIGHT RECON ARMOR, and it doesn't work, at ALL.

I purchased Pirate for M4, and the pants work, half of the props work, and the shirt, vest, coat and so forth, DON'T. I don't have a lot of money to spend on this (although I have invested a couple hundred dollars at this point), and I am pretty upset that the Michael 4 stuff isn't working.

Am I missing something? Please let me know, so I can get the most out of what I paid for.

Even $16.95 is a LOT of money, if you can't get it to work.

Indeed there is! Go to the Surfaces tab, select the Genesis figure and change the UV map used to Michael 4.

I have purchased multiple skins for M4, and while they work wonders on M4 itself, if I try to apply them to Genesis, they don't fit.

This surprised me as I was able to apply all V4 skins to Genesis without a problem.

I own and have installed Victoria 4 and Michael 4 shapes for Genesis, and have also Generation X (I don't think it has an impact).

Is there a way to be able to apply M4 skins on a Genesis-based character?

The current promo has 70% off when you buy one of the featured products, so I bought the superhero poses (under $5) and got the Freak Hero Pack (which includes a lot of stuff for Michael, and you get 30 poses) It was 149.95 on sale 104.47 (30% off) and I got it for 36.36! It is 73.48 off! 104.97 x .70=73.48 off so 104.97-73.48=31.49 so that didn't add up (if off the sale price), and 149.95 (regular price) x .70 off=104.97 so that would make it 44.98.

So, if it's supposed to be 70% off the ORIGINAL price- it's not. I saved $8.62. The other bundles are probably the same way!

it would depend on what the "Basic.female.cr2" is ....

If it's the "genesis basis female" from daz Studio,. then it won't work in the Carrara 8 trial,. because it's a genesis model.

Any models which are built for use in Poser 5, 6. 7. or 8, ...or Daz Studio 1, 2, 3, or 4, ...which were built before "genesis", and poser pro2012 were released,. will work in Carrara 8.

New Poser figure's released with poser 9, 10, or Poser-Pro 2012, 2014, ..or Daz3D Studio 4.5 (genesis)
will only work in Carrara 8.5 (beta)

There are many "free" figures, textures, and clothes which you can use in Carrara trial to experiment with,. but carrara is a full 3D program where you can build your own model, add bones, pant textures, animate, and render,. so,. content is less of a necessity in carrara than programs which don't have those abilities, and require pre-made content to be able to do anything.

So we need I to buy some V4/M4 to import.

Carrara can use Victoria 1,. 2,. 3,. or 4,. Plus many other models from other stores, or Freely available on-line.

Victoria 4,. was the default model supplied "free" in the content when anyone downloaded Daz3d Studio,. (from version 1 to 4)

As far as I know,. Genesis is now included as the default Daz model when you download Daz3d Studio 4.5

have a look at the free stuff in the Daz3D store, or check out sites like ShareCG. which has free stuff

Carrara can be used "as is", without pre-made content,. but it's obviously simpler and faster to start out with a pre-made figure, especially when you're just beginning to learn what the software can do.

The 30 day trial of Carrara, doesn't come with any of the "Carrara Native Content" or "bonus content" which only comes with the Full version of Carrara.
The Carrara native content, includes a wide selection of models, from Aircraft models to Writing props,. plus example scenes, animations, lighting , particle systems, physics etc....

The Bonus content for the Pro version of Carrara, included Victoria 4 and Michael 4, plus morphs, clothing, and high-res skin shaders for carrara,. plus a bunch of other Daz 3D models, and Carrara products.

I'm looking for a Doctor or Labcoat for Michael 4. I tried converting (with XD) the one from this V4 Product: http://www.daz3d.com/doctor-accessories but the Coat conversion left me with a coat that was very deformed and wouldn't fit, not even Morphfollower or Transferring active Morphs helped.

Might be I did something wrong, if any of you has different experiences with converting this coat to M4, please let me know how you got the thing to work :)

If anyone knows of a coat for M4 that would work, or an easily converted one, could you please share your knowledge and maybe a link? ^^

Edit: I'm using DS and do not own poser.

The Mage is a Poser Formats item for Michael 4, and what you are trying to load is a msterial for it from the DAZ Studio Formats area. If you have Genesis selected, you wont get an error message, but if you deselct everything in the scene, then try to load that item, you will get an error message telling you that the object needs to be loaded first.
The item you are looking for, will be in Poser Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > Figures, and it is a Poser CR2 file.

Yes, I'm definitely clicking on the clothes and not the materials.

First I select:

>> DAZ Studio Formats >> My DAZ 3D Library >> People >> Genesis >> Genesis.duf

Then I select:

>> DAZ Studio Formats >> My DAZ 3D Library >> People >> Michael 4 >> Clothing >> The Mage >> TMgTunicDS.DS

I'm sure this worked a couple of days ago, but somehow nothing is happening anymore. The Auto-Fit interfaces do not pop-up anymore.

Hi all,

I'm really new to DS 4.6 and just got stuck on probably a very simple issue. I've AutoFitted a number of The Mage and The Mage Celestial clothes to Genesis, and it all looked okay-ish a couple of days okay, although there were some small fitting mistakes near the bottom of the Tunic. However, when I try to double-click any of the clothes now, nothing happens... No error message, no clothes visible on Genesis, absolutely nothing. Any idea? I've tried reinstalling the Mage and Celestial Mage again, but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Please note that all the Mage objects and the Mage Celestial objects are displayed in the Michael 4 folder, but I do not have Michael 4 as yet, as it is my understanding that the AutoFit tool should work. Anyway, I hope that someone knows what's happening here, as it's probably something really simple. I'm also a bit confused about the difference between Genesis and Genesis 2... How do I know which one I'm using? Ah well, we all have to start somewhere I guess.

Check that you don't have multiple copies of the \Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Victoria 4 or \Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\Michael 4 folder, that's the most common cause.

There are two things that you will need to do, so that we can try to help you.
First of all, post a screenshot of your Content Directory Manager, showing the expanded listings for DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats. You can find it in Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory manager.
The next thing is a screenshot of your Content Library pane (NOT Smart Content) showing what is installed. Moving the content around to see if it works is not going to help. There is only one place that the content will work, and that is in the folder you have listed as a DAZ Studio Formats folder in the Content Directory manager.
The Fantasy Starter Bundle http://www.daz3d.com/fantasy-starter-bundle is for Michael 4 and Victoria 4, and if you don't have those figures, it is no use to you. You need to get your content folders sorted out first before you buy anything else.
