Aniblock creation
How to specify that just certain properties go into the block? When I make them I seem to get properties I didn't change, so when I apply the block to another character things get messed up. For example I tried to do a breathing block, which involved using a ribcage morph, a shoulders slightly up/down and a head slightly up/down. There were only 3 keys across 60 frames (out-in-out). When I applied it to a different character, she aquired a lot of other morphs too.
Is the trick to generate these on base unmorphed genesis figure only?
mcjPushPullFacet V3 : perform facet surgery (movements ) right in Daz Studio!i have to be careful in my scripts to not create morphs when the morphed object is subdivided because it really can scrap scene files making them never openable - tonight i'll post an old updated and upgraded script that can wrap an object with another object, usually a tube prop ... the script is mcjShrinkWrapA

Ont thing that threw me off was that the morph is created in the top level figure root, not in the bone I had selected, so I didn't see it at first. Here are 4 facets on the back of his head pulled out in a common morph.
Landon 8I think he has a bit of a Brad Pitt vibe to him here.:)
That really is a good Brad Pitt, I thought of him immediately when I saw it. Is that morph out-of-the-box, or did you turn some dials to get that look?
The morph is just Landon, no morph adjustments - I used PowerPose to change his expression to give him a bit of a smirk and raise one of his eyebrows.

Customized Character TutorialsOkay, then. Thank you.
To answer your question, Saph, yes you can make your own sliders right in DAZ Studio once you have completed your morph. The way to do this can vary depending firstly on the figure that you are using. The procedure is different depending on whether you are using a Poser format figure, or a DAZ Studio format figure. All the Genesis series figures, Genesis through Genesis 8, are DAZ Studio format figures and I'll assume that you are interested in working with morphs for one of those. I'll use one of my G3F characters as an example. You may wish to refer to the following article in the Documentation Centre for additional details/more confusion:
http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/creating_content/packaging/tutorials/saving_morphs/startFigure one (refer to the first thumbnail below the post - I'll not embed all the images to avoid filling up the thread) shows a base Genesis 8 Female with a custom "dialed" morph that I made applied. We'll call her "Kerry". Why not.
Step 1.
The first step in creating a morph slider is to create a new property in the heirarchy for the figure for it.
With G3F selected in the scene and my custom morph Kerry applied, open the Parameters tab.
Now right-click anywhere on the left-hand column of the Parameter display to open a pop-up dialogue and select "Edit Mode" at the top, then "Create new Property" at the bottom. That will open a new popup window.
Enter a Label and a Name (you can use the same for both), and click the drop down arrow on the right of Path: and select Actor/Full Body. (You can choose anything that you prefer here, but that will do for starters until you come up with a preference). That is where your new morph slider will be found under the Parameters tab once your new slider has been created.
Now under Presentation Attributes, click the little arrow and select Modifier/Shape.
Optionally, at this point, you can select colours for your morph slider if you wish, although they can be left as-is and edited later. You can also specify an icon to use, but again this can be added later if desired.
Under Float Attributes you should set the Min value to 0.
You can also leave your slider set to use percentages if you wish, or change it to no if you do not (I prefer the latter).
Click "Create"
Step 2.
Under the Parameters tab find your new property by going to Actor > Full Body (or do a search). In my case the new property is called Kerry Head, as shown.
Right-click on the new property and click on ERC Freeze in the resulting popup. (down near the bottom)
That will open a new window - just click accept. You can now test your new morph slider to ensure that it works as expected.

Step 3.
With your figure selected in the scene choose File > Save As > Support Asset > Morph Asset(s) from the DAZ Studio menu bar.
In the resulting Popup window, you can leave the Asset Directory alone, but enter your name under Vendor Name, and the name of your morph below that (Kerry Head in my case).
Under the Properties list, expand the list until you fine the property that you created earlier (Kerry Head once again in my case), and select it.
Hit accept and you're done.
Exit Edit Mode under the Parameters tab (Right-click for the context menu as before and uncheck Edit Mode).
As a final test, you can load a new base figure in DAZ Studio, find the slider and dial-in your character.

Simple, init?
Of couse, if you want to distribute and package or separate head and body morph sliders, those are a whole other thing. (the character I was using was actually both head and body morphs despite my naming convention).
Realistic goat?Years ago there was a great goat thread running here for a while... there was no goat available at the time and someone was looking for a goat... I think an artist named KempSparky or something like that came along and made one... The thread was kinda funny and inspired me to make the Goat Shack (in my freebie collection) and the accessories... it’s all very dated now, but it was a funny thread.
The thread was actually one of my first posts "Where can I find a goat" I was just learning the computer and had just found DAZ studio ,it was great how friendly ,fun and helpful everyone was .Especially KempSparky making the morph for the sheep, like she did. ,and McGyver making the shed ,I wish the thread was still avaiable cause it was fun.
Help clothing is whiteThanks for youre answer.

Greetings Elly
Landon 8Wasn't crazy about the bundles, but I liked him enough to get the base and the HD morph plus the han-solo-ish hair.
off topic threadExcellent discovery, Wendy. I've been able to convert all my Poser7 Sydney and Simon content to V4 and M4 using Poser's wardrobe wizard (and apropriate modules), then to Genesis and Genesis 2 figures using Daz Studio's transfer utility. I had purchased an Occupations pack, a Historical pack, and a World Leaders pack from smith micro for Poser 7 figures. Very happy to retain that functionality.
Cannot seem to understand how to make a piece of clothing/etc follow a figure
The weights do match, however i am not sure how can i make the bones of my mesh deform together with the genesis 8 mesh, this is where i am stuck Autofitting screws the rig up pretty badly, while using transfer utility to get weights from duplicate made before autofitting moves the lashes to the ground altogetherThe joint centres need to match the base figure, and so do the weights at the point of attachment if you wish to avoid tearing/disassociation.
Darwins' Schtuff Pt DeuxThank you, everyone! I do appreciate that. I hoped he'd be accepted, his facial morph was a dosey to do, but I really liked the end result.
So, since Landon was released- I can show Baldric for Landon 8 here. Note; it is required to have Landon 8 to use him this time. Waiting to see if Daz will pick him up before I do a commercial thread.
Oooooo ....
Are you waiting to see if they want to make him a Daz-O, or just for him to get through PASS? Or is that in the "number one rule of Fight Club" category of questions?
And is he Random Dude or "Some part of the Big Story and everyone will be singing the 'Tonight' quintet and then there will be blood and whipped cream" dude?
lol- I just submitted him this past weekend, I was seeing if they'd take him at all. He's just a random dude- I was inspired by Landon and a request in the Suggestion thread for a "blasian" type male figure and thought, why not?
Oh goodness, gracious, he is just drop-dead gorgeous! Can't imagine he wouldn't be accepted; certainly hope he will be.

Cannot seem to understand how to make a piece of clothing/etc follow a figureWhy do you want them to have their own weights? That will guarantee they won't follow the figure.
Is the issue with the bones having used the Transfer Utility?
Because autofit sucks and breaks them when they are being posed, while the weights i did in blender work well and deform together with the eyelids.
The bones are like this after i use rig transfer(figure space). aligning fixed them a bit thoughCannot seem to understand how to make a piece of clothing/etc follow a figureWhy do you want them to have their own weights? That will guarantee they won't follow the figure.

Realistic goat?I think the extra goat skins and shed may still be in the freebie thread (a long way back. I think I stumbled across them nearly a decade ago). But I'm pretty sure that the morph may have always been a commercial product.
Why are fantasy characters always caucasian? If you want a red and blue scarf, do you buy red yarn and blue yarn, or do you insist the store has to sell blue and red yarn bundled together? "dial spinning" in this case may be setting one dial. Or none! Since most of the figures released have separate presets to apply morphs and to apply materials. I'd still like to see more variety for the reasons started above, but setting one morph is not an outrageous level of effort.Get Version 4 ! mcjHatsAreTheFashionOfTheDay : Fit Any Hair in Hats Pc/MacI haven't tried the new version of push pull facet yet. I wanted to be sure I had the new V3 collider installed and working properly with the "hair under hat", which I know how to use. I ran in to a problem, though. Admittedly, this is a very extreme case. I put Wild Dreads hair (hr2 prop hair) on the RDNA greyling. Because the greyling head is so big, I scaled the hair up and translated it into place. I created a plane 2 ft instead of 1 ft, because the head was so big, I thought 1 ft might not be enough, but it would have been OK. I selected the plane and the hair and ran the script. I used the default values in the script for taper and air gap. When the script finished, the hair is compressed inside the greyling head, both above and below the plane. Does this have something to do with the scaling of the hair, or is something else going on? Thanks for your continued support!
Edit: I added a screenshot of the hair and plane with the mcjFitHat morph dialed out, so you can see what it started out as.
Cannot seem to understand how to make a piece of clothing/etc follow a figureAnother strange thing is that i cannot transfer rig from g8 to my hierarchy, most bones have wrong orientations for some reason
