I'm not having any problems getting into DIM and downloading fortunately, and just downloaded 52 items. Also, one that wouldn't download previously zipped right along. It was downloading easily at 258mbps. So perhaps try downloads again. (It's 1:30pm Central Time)

okay.. big stupid.. found it in product library but I clicked to go to the product page.. sometimes OLD abounds.

It's not your fault if the download links are hidden in a drop down named "Descrioption"... It took me 2 days of deductions to click that button and scroll to the bottom. (Notice blank product page. Notice the forum is not in flames. Notice the drop down and click it. Yep, just description, close. Check again and scroll down. There it is. WHY?)

I think this bad design choice was made to discourage manual downloads in favor of the new Daz Central, or Install Manager.

I wonder why Daz doesn't leverage available platforms instead of pulling off subsequent generations of proprietary tools. If Daz Studio was available on the Microsoft Store, I might consider installing it from there. Content will be installed manually anyway.

  • [Solved] Trouble installing products

Solved. I was looking in the Files tab and not the Product tab. If I have to go to the Product tab to install stuff then wtf is Daz Central doing for us?

    Bought Vaeriety Sword Pack Animations.

Daz Central says it is installed. Daz Install Manager says it is installed.

It appears in my Content Library but there is says it is not installed. (see attachment)

    Did I miss a step?

  • Cannot Log-in via Daz Central or DIM - accompanied by 503 error.

Hello, I just started an account with Daz 3d recently, and I just installed the most recent version of the Daz Central app for Windows 10. Even though I can log into my account on a web browser, it seems that I cannot log in via the Daz Central app.

Furthermore, in the moments after I try to log in on the app, trying to access any site under the www.daz3d.com domain results in a 503 HTTP error (using Chrome). This only lasts for a few minutes, and then I can connect to the website again no issue. I thought maybe switching to the Daz 3d Install manager would help, but the same thing happened.

Has anyone else ran into similar problems? If so, what have you tried?

  • !! Store Issues - Known Problems - Please Read !!

...hmm, after some of the issues I've had in the past, I'm surprised none of this has been occurring on my account.  The last serious issue I had was my card not being recognised but I submitted a ticket on that and it was taken care of a couple weeks ago.

Have been able to download and install everything I purchased for the last couple weeks through the IM without a hitch, no products missing, and for the last week or so, no download failures even with large files.  Haven't ever used Daz Connect or Daz Central, just manual downloads and the IM

Running the latest version of Chrome with advert blockers, popup blockers, and other extensions active on the site, have the same AV active that I've used for years, and still on W7 Pro.

So far the only issues I've been running into are mildly annoying ones most others are experiencing

    • When I open a previous post on the forums here to edit it, the edit window opens in HTML mark-up instead of normal mode,
    • My Product Library sorts in "A - Z" sequence rather than the usual "newest to oldest" purchase.
    • The store search is wonky as heck,
    • Getting intermittent #500 Server Errors after selecting items in the store to view, posts in the Forums to read, and returning to the forum menus/store page.

  • Hisashi is NOT a female

If this is still annoying some users, and you don't want to wait for an official correction, it will only take you a few minutes to make the correction yourslf. Note that vendor metadata (and I mean the metadata that comes with the product, whoever makes it) is considered read-only in the Content DB Editor. The only way to change it permanently is to modify the metadata file directly. Look in the [Library]/Runtime/Support folder for the .dsx file that corresponds to the product in question. For example, the SKU for Hisashi is 60235, so search for a 60235, or scroll down to DAZ_3D_60235_Hisashi_HD_for_Genesis_8_Male.dsx. Open it in your favourite text editor and search for the string /Female and change it to /Male. (There was only one in Hisashi, others might have more). Save and re-import the metadata. In DIM it's from a right-click on the product, in Studio it's in Content DB Maintenance. I do not know how for other install methods (Connect and Central). Refresh your Library and you're good to go. (Keep a copy of the .dsx somewhere in case you need to re-install, or replace the one in the package you use to install, if you keep the zips.)

  • Almost 100 Broken Products: Updates and New Purchases not working

    Marshian said:

Here is the full list of my products that are broken. The update as of today, which is troubling, is that several of these have now completely disappeared from Smart Content and Content library. A few I checked still show in DIM and online in my Product List but nowhere within Daz Studio.

    1. Oneiros 8949

    2. Old West Sheriffs Office 9087

    3. Wristbreakers 9332

    4. Divinity Skies Ascension 9717

Tried a few. It appears to be a user related issue. Can also be found in Daz 4.10 4. 11 and 4.14 but I use DIM to download. I never use connect or central.

Which link? It should be available through Daz Central/Install Manager, or from https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_13176 (you will currently need to expand the Description to see download links).

  • How can I do a Completely Clean Install ?

In the Studio Content Pane, I had four (!) different DAZ libraries. I have no idea when DC "decides" to move items to a special place.

The problem is that the simplified "training wheels" DAZ Central system uses only one download/installation location for everything, and if you don't want to use the default, this must be set before it starts trying to download. If your existing content setup includes multiple content library locations, Central is supposed to pick up on that. When it doesn't, that's when the "DAZ deleted my content!!!" posts start. I wouldn't recommend anyone already using DIM and happy with it to attempt installing Central — that's not what it's for.

I did a plain install of DC, with no change at all. Still, content gets spilled all over the place. Never had such an issue with DIM.

  • Getting a new computer soon, and I need some info about transferring Daz stuff to it...

Did you kep the zips for the content after isntalling? If so you wouldn't have to redownload.

The application and plug-ins will need reinstalling, as will some shaders and scripts (mainly older ones, 3Delight in the case of Shaders). Your content can go across as a copy of the content directory (or transfer the disc drive) - just tell DS where the content directory is and it will be able to find the files. You can either export* your userdata before moving the content across and reimport* that and product data on the new machine, rebuilding the database, or (with all Daz aplications closed) you can copy the Content Cluster for the database across (by default %AppData%/daz 3d/cms/contentcluster/) - the latter has the advantage of preserving things like New grouping.

The trickiest bit is DIM/Daz Central since they do keep a record of exactly where they place files (unlike scene fiels anmd presets which just record the location within the content directory). The record goes in the Manifests folder - if you stil have the zips you could, after telling DIM wheer it should install now, simply copy that over, then in the Isntalled tab of DIM select everything, right-click, and choose the otpion to reisntall using the current path. Otherwise you could manually edit the .dsx files to point to the correct location. Of course if your content directory has the same name and location on both machines there will be nothing to change.

    * Content Library pane option menu (the lined button in the top corner, or right-click the tab)>Content DB Maintenance, then check the option and click Acccept; for reimport a second dialogue will open allowing you to choose what to reimport.

  • API for DIM, or other ways of targeting specific content types

    Greetings,

Is there any chance I can ask for the data sources and API used by DAZ Install Manager?

I've reached a point where my total Library is taking up too much of my Macbook Pro's 4TB internal drive, and I want to eliminate all V4 and Genesis (but not Genesis 2, 3, or 8 based items, and not environments, etc.) from my library to free up space.

There's no way to do that within DAZ Install Manager, even though a dataset _is_ available to do that from the DAZ store site, easily downloadable.  (https://www.daz3d.com/dazstatic/slab/getFilters?all=true)  I'd like to build myself a trivial tool, obviously nothing as powerful as DAZ Install Manager, that lets me filter my installed items by compatible figure, so I can at least have an idea which ones I need to remove.

Since I get the feeling that major changes to DAZ Install Manager are unlikely, now that DAZCentral is out, and DAZCentral is unusable to me (too large a collection, and non-Windows use) I'd really like it if the PTB would pass along information about how to implement some of the stuff ourselves.

I'll acknowledge, it's a little frustrating, because the local database side is problematic.  I feel like I'm not going to be able to remove the smart content rows from the Postgresql database, even if I can

    • Find the list of V4 compatible items (for example)
    • Cross reference them with still-installed Manifestfiles for those SKU's
    • Cross reference files mentioned inside those Manifestfiles with ones installed in my various 'My Library' locations
    • Decrement the counts for each file in the related InstallManagerFileRegister.json
    • Removing the file if the counts got to zero for each file
    • Removing the Manifestfiles so they don't show up as installed anymore.

After all that, Smart Content will still have the data, but with broken icons, because the database is still relatively opaque to me, unfortunately.  I'm not sure if there's a parent row that I can delete, where the deletion will `cascade` to the subsidiary tables.  I need to do more investigation there...  If the foreign keys to a central SKU table are set up as 'ON DELETE CASCADE' then this'll work really well.  If not, then I'm going to have to figure out all the related tables...

Optimally, DAZ Install Manager would allow filtering by compatible product by using the openly available JSON containing that data, but that would take a lot of work on someone's part.  In lieu of that, if we could have API information about how to retrieve the Manifestfiles for things we've purchased (presumably there's a 'signin' method, and then a request to download owned SKUs, and then a way to request individual manifest files for each sku, and then a way to download the .zips for selected skus) that would make it a lot easier for me to build myself my own tool to manage my library.  This would let me create a tool that only downloads the zips for items that meet the filters I want to build (like 'NOT (Gen3 OR Gen4 OR Genesis)').  I can then use InstallManager to (1) hide the items that I don't care to see right now, and (2) install the already-downloaded ZIP files for the newer products.

For what it's worth, I've already removed nearly everything identified by 'V4' or 'Victoria 4', but there's a significant number of items (and worse, _textures_ for those items!) which don't have the compatible item in their title, and thus are not searchable-for in the filter.  And the problem gets worse in Genesis, especially because the textures got larger.

ne solution was to use filter-by-SKU-range.  Unfortunately, I want a significant number of the environments within the lower SKU ranges, because they can be up-shifted to Iray relatively well.  I really like environments, so I don't want to delete or avoid those, but manually working through hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of items is exhausting, and frustrating, and I know I'm missing things, and it's especially galling when the data is...right there, loaded the first time you pull up the DAZ store page, and stored in localstorage in the browser, or available via a trivial GET request.

Thanks very much for any information anyone can pass along.

    --  Morgan

This is highly unlikely. What may help is the ability to filter by package content - see http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/install_manager/referenceguide/interface/filter_field/advanced_filtering#file
