So I have been having an issue with my library on my D drive for a long time, I can usually get everything installed using DIM and all is working fine. Then at a later point, I'll come back weeks/month+ later to install something new and I'm unable to install the new asset. I would get below error

My fix for it was to just uninstall all assets via DIM, then uninstall DIM via Windows Apps list, and then delete everything related to Daz (AppData, Program Files and files on D drive), then I would just reinstall everything. It was frustrating but I don't install a lot and figured it not the worst idea to reinstall everything now and again anyway.

However, this happened last week again and I have been unable to get Daz installed via Daz Install Manager(DIM) or anything else either, postgre installs from the "default install sets" but that pretty much it.

I've always used DIM but have tried Daz Central(DC), I can get Daz Studio to install via that but that's because it goes to my C drive. I don't see a way to change the paths in DC as I do in DIM. I always set "package", "thumbnail", "manifest" and main library to my D drive in DIM, as my C drive is a 256MB SSD and just nowhere near enough space for my library.

So basically I could get it all set up on my C drive, as have tested DIM and not changing any paths like I said I usually do above. However, that is just not a viable option for me and I need to get it working from my D drive like I always had it before. 

Last time I noticed this error below but not certain why I'm seeing it, I download via DIM and then try to install, so don't understand why download already exists

I found that I have a duplicated order on my account with negative amount of money (same order was paid with store credit then duplicated by the store one minute later) which maybe explains why I cant purchase anything. submitted a ticket about it so fingers crossed it gets resolved soon. :)

That's not completely correct. While I am the last who woould blame DAZ to pushing the product as  requested  -and required  - truth is DAZ down the road updated iray to a version that is no longer supported by drivers available for Kepler as per nvidia. So, this issue originates from DAZ, not nvidia. Again, not critcism of optimizing performance with supporting advanced technology (or we wouldn't have iray support in the first place)

Still, I think it is fair to expect the installer  throwing out a warning before updateing to a version that break support of such essential feature,.This si by far not new leave alone rocket science technology and done before, even more so since DAZ Studio, IM and central are quite connected and would even know to stir this kind of trouble.

This could also be avoided if DAZ wouldn't follow that hardline "forwards ever, backwards never" policy and even delete the  previous installers from the download folder but instead would give access to previous builds publically.  (Sometimes even I wished I could roll back after using ta particular versionfor a while)

If you installed 4.12 with DIM, install 4.15 with DIM, too. DIM will remember the installation paths you used last time. You can check the DIM settings to verify your installation paths, in case you are unsure. Many people have had their configuration messed up by trying Daz Central after being DIM users, because Daz Central used its own default path configuration. I don't know if any improvements to that situation were ever implemented. 

Update: I had to go to Daz Central and Select Install 4.14 (???) which now seems to have successfully installed 4.15 (!).

At a first quick check everything on Drive D seems to be recognised and working.

It's pretty straightforward, at least to me.

"Converted files directory"

Top box selects the output directory.

Below that opens the output directory selected in the top box

The central area shows the poses to be converted.

The "Add individual pose files" opens a file explorer to allow you to select individual poses to convert.

The "Add pose directory" allows you to batch convert an(or multiple) folders containing poses, in one button push.

"Remove selected": if you select individual files, or groups of files(using ctrl+Left click), which have an orange highlight(by default) you can remove them, leaving the rest for conversion.

"Clear all" clears the entire list of poses to convert.

"convert files" starts the process. Push this and go have a coffee, it may take a while, depending on the number of files selected and the single thread speed of your computer.

"Create metadata" produces a suppport file for smart content. if it's unchecked metadata files won't be created.

If you click on the question mark in the lower left corner and then click on the individual items, it'll provide you the same information i just wrote.

If you have a more specific question, i'll be lurking around.

Something else to consider, is that it's not the character, but the clothing, hair, etc. on the character. Try turing off the smoothing modifer on fitted to items and see if that makes a difference.

As to your questions.

There are two primary solutions to your problem regarding loading of morph dials.

1. uninstall/reinstall products as needed, relaoding the corresponding character after each change accordingly.

This is the least efficient option, as it requires either the use of DIM, Connect or central, or the manual removal of assets.

2. Split directories.

As opposed to the uninstall/reinstall option, simply seperating the various assets into their own directories and mapping and unmapping, in CDM(content directory manager) as required  is a bit easier.

It does, however, require manual installation of products, as most automated installation methods can only install to a single directory at a time.

Rather than download daz central and daz studio directly to my computer, I would like to download it to an external hard drive. Is there anything special about downloading it to an external hard drive? Or do I just choose the path and let the program do the rest?

Now...Because of the Male nipple geometry position it was very hard to include these morphs and make it work. The female geometry nipple position was more central meaning there was enough room to move it around. The males, not so much.....The minute you moved that area it caused mesh pinching. So yeah.... The male version does not have areola and nipple positional movement. I can give it another go, but ye I didn't have much success the first time around.

Poo, oh well, thank you for letting me know! I'll still be picking it up, it looks like a great product regardless. That does explain why I can't find anything for positioning no matter where I look, though.

If you ever do figure out how to make it work at some point, maybe if the Genesis 8 overhaul makes it easier somehow, I'll be right at the front of the line to buy whatever you come up with!

Daz central is the same code as DIM with a new UI, it doesn't address the needs of more advanced users and can't install certain types of content. I don't think you need worry about Daz Central only installation.

please can somone upload these files it just will not work i have tried everything and wasted soo much time i just want it to work...
i have the steam version of blender 2.91 i have attempted the fix suggested in this post and uninstalled and reinstalled with daz central and DIM and it never drops that zip it does create a folder called  BLENDER_VERSION in which it drops a DTB folder but it cannot be installed with install addons.

Yes, I definitely feel there has been a drop in quality, especially regarding metadata. I would estimate that about 30% of the purchases I've made recently have had metadata errors (and, as we all know, Daz generally refuses to fix these errors). I wonder if it has something to do with the Daz Central rollout (I use DIM)?

I set up a new system, and wish I could find the old work-horse DIM Install manager utility?

I'm not liking this new 'DAZ Central', as it seems to run in 'trust me' mode, squirreling stuff away where it's hard to find. Since I pay cash for DAZ content, I prefer to download and archive (manually) the actual ZIP files in a personal backed up 'catalog' folder structure.

I have Daz Central open and it's still only showing v1.5 for the Daz to Maya Bridge. Anyone else seeing this issue?

I'll try a re-install and report back. I did move my DIM folder settings to D: drive, but that shouldn't matter for these plugins which are all local to C: drive.

Hey all, I recently switched my 2070 Super out for an RTX 3090 and I have the most up to date studio drivers. Knowing that the version of Daz I was using (4.12 not beta) did not offer support for this card, I opened Daz central and clicked update to 4.14. Upon opening Daz 4.14 after the install was finished, it froze for about 10 seconds before crashing with no error message. I tried opening it several more times to only experience the same result. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 2 times and I restarted my PC in between attempts. Additionally, before I did anything I copied the entirety of the "My Daz3D Library" folder into my auxiliary drive to ensure I could just paste it in if things went wrong (has worked before but I'm not sure this is a good idea). What should I do? I'm trying to not lose any of the progress I've made using Daz, do I need to do a full wipe? My scene files are saved on my auxiliary drive as well as the "My Daz3D Library" folder as mentioned previously. I am not opposed to downloading the beta for 4.12 so Daz can not only work but actually support my card. Thank you for your time.
