Unable to install daz + library to D drive
Still trying to sort this out but does look like I got 2 solutions here, not sure what happened but DIM is now buggy with installing to any drive not named C. Considering Daz Central doesn't have a way I can see to change where your library is and therefore you stuck with putting it on your C drive. Starting to think Daz themselves want you to install Daz on C drive only now but not sure, maybe I'm missing something but, either way, DIM + D drive = does not work.
Solution 1: I upgrade C drive from a 240GB to 960GB, that be more enough for my library to go on C drive, tested and got down to about 5GB space left before I confirmed 240GB wasn't big enough. That cost me about another £70.
Solution 2: Install Default Install Sets to the C drive with DIM, then download everything else in the library and manually extract to a temp folder, then move everything within "content folder" to a second Daz library on my D drive, which I then add as a new base directory in Daz Studio itself. On testing, I can access the second library via content library and load into the scene that way, It's a real pain but better than nothing. Still early in testing this, so I'm sure there be some unforeseen things that cause some issues but it's my best solution for now (I think).
P.S I really hope Daz Studio sorts DIM installing to D drive, that would be the ultimate solution, and soon as I sort out Library in just one location, I'm backing that up on an external drive.
GENERAL FREEBIE REQUESTS part 3Can anyone make the toolbelt and bracers for the central female character please for Genesis 8?
And if anyone fancied making the robot or octopus lady or could point me towards appropriate similar products I could purchase that would be great.
Thanks,
Gareth

Can't install. Tried multiple times. Sometime it reach 70%. Sometimes even 92%. But the progress just ends and goes back to install button.
This is under Windows 10 Home Edition.
Stand-alone isntaller, Install manager, or Daz Central? From your next post I guess the last of those.
Dad doesn't install in the applications folder…Daz Central is designed as an alternative, simplified interface for the same base code as Install Manager. As such it takes only one setting for location and places everything else in sub-folders of that location. Install manager allows the setting of individual destination folders.
Is the PostgreSQL issue that it isn't isntalled or that it is isntalled but not connecting? Check the database location in the Install Manager settings, and the permission settings for that location.

Hi all,
I've the same problem, i think, except that i can't find the solution even following what is in the pictures posted by cm152335
Furthermore, I can see the thumbnails of the figures but if I doubleclick it, then i get the message that the files are not found (see 01.jpg)
my settings are as in 02.jpg
Can't understand what's going wrong
Any help?
Thanks
Same issue here, all is setup correctly, and still getting this error.
For which product(s)? If you find them in the Smart Content pane's Products tab does the product thrumbnail, before you double-click on it, have a downward pointing triangle in a broken circle at top-right? Assuming you installed through Daz Central or Install Manager it should - if not try right-clicking on the product thumbnail and selecting Uninstall, then try loading the content.
Obtaining current DAZ Studio applicationCan someone please tell me how I can obtain a current working version of the DAZ Studio application. The website currently does not. The link to download DAZ Studio takes me to a link to download DAZ Central. And a Help request was useless.
A new beginning...It may be appropriate to mention that I am using an ancient but still relativley well behaved Imac 27" with an SSD drive...
So to begin with I couldnt find any uninstallers to remove DS from my machine, so I put everything I could think of into the trash and deleted that. Seemed to do the trick and as I had already deleted DIM in favour of Daz central, I thought I was okay to go ahead. So using DC I installed DS 10.15 and opened the thing up. First off there was this notification and the second one which I havent had to deal with since some years back when I first got this notice. So I just delted the notices and DS seems to work fine regardless. However all my mistakes from past years are still present in this new version of DS which I wanted to avoid. The whole purpose of this exercise is to obtain a clean version of DS in which smart content will work along with all the other bells and whistles that have been added over the years. The content from other places and content that I have installed by hand myself was going to be backed up and loaded in at a later date.
Question is that there seems no means to download DIM any longer because DC has replaced it and the advice I recieved suggested I install DS and then DIM and then use DIM to install my content. I dont think this is possible but I may well be wrong, can this be done and if so how?

Daz Central is meant to simplify the process of installing, so it takes just one location setting and places everything within that. If you want more granular control you should use Install Manager.
This is part of why Daz Central is so inferior to Install Manager, it's lack of control but Daz studio did install via that, so why I wondered about it.
It is inferior for experienced users who want fine control; it is superior for new suers who just want to get started
Also, DC is in no way simpler to use than IM, IM you just check all and install everything, DC list is bloated with info and would take forever to install your library as there no install all option I could see.
But if it is aimed at newer users they will probably have fairly small libraries, so that isn't a major issue.
I have not had any time today to really look into my issue more, so still not got it fixed, my hands are tied until I can get Daz Studio installed and installed correctly.
I may need to contact support directly, as 4.15 release will install on C drive but it just doesn't like my D drive for some reason.

how do I change the library within Daz Central like I do with DIM? or is that possible?
I mean set where the manifest files, thumbnails and folder the downloads go to in Daz Central.
If I can get Daz studio to install correctly then manual install of all assets would work I'm sure, then I'll back up my complete library folder on an external HD which I can do now, as have 4TB external HD.

Edit/update: currently the item has Connect and Central downloads available. One hopes manual and DIM will also be added?
Dungeon Builder script errorIt probably can't cope with being installed through Connect (within Daz Studio). uninstall, by right-click on the product thumbnail, and install through Install Manager or Daz Central.

So the drive iss till listed as D:, it hasn't chnaged letter, and you can place a new file manually in the target folder (in DS and also the location for your DIM downloads)?
yeah I manually create the folder for my library and it still listed as D:, sorry thought you meant user permisions.
Also manually created a new zip folder within the DIM downloads folder and within my library folder.
right now I think the issue is getting daz studio 4.15 itself installed and the initial files it adds to your library folder, once I get that done, pretty sure manual install is an option for everything else.
is there a way to manually download daz studio from the site? I always get taken to daz central instead of a page where I can manually download daz studio.
For the non-beta version of DS you can get manual isntallers, but due to a page glitch you need to expand the information section on the Product Library page to find them.
Installing G8F Body Morphs and G8F SY Fantastical FeatiresI downloaded and installed [G8F Body Morphs and G8F SY Fantastical Featires] the above packages using DAZ Central. All I can see in Content Library and smart Content is SYFF Remove Fantastical Features.
When I try to open a package from DAZ Central I get the following error message:
'LaunchStudioProduct: Could not fine C:/Daz 3D/Applications/64-bit/Daz 3D/DAZStudio 4/reources/Lesson Strips/Commom/Interactive'.
What has happened to my files?
I am running DAZ Studio 1.14 and Win 10.

Daz won't open?Hey all, I'm new to Daz and just started getting into it. I'm having a problem where daz won't open no matter what I try. I can't open it from the desktop or from dazcentral. When I click "open" in central, nothing happens. Not sure what is going onA new beginning...All the info I can find seems to indicate that to properly uninstall DS and DIM this should be done through DIM. Unfortunately I have installed Daz Central which replaced DIM and I cannot find an uninstaller anywhere. So I seem to be stuck before I begin...

Missing Surface Textures for Millennium HorseAnything you install from something other than Daz Central or Install Manager will not show up in the Products, Categories, or Smart Content folders because the content database doesn't know about it. To find these products, you have to look under My Daz 3D Library for Daz content, or Poser Formats for Poser format stuff, as WendyLuvzCatz pointed out. Assuming you copied the runtime folder into the default location (which is C:\Users\Public Documents\Daz 3D\content IIRC), then the textures will show up under Poses where Wendy pointed out.
If you have a large runtime library, you might get into a situation where you have a hard time finding where something installed. In that case, you can open the zip file and just look through it until you find where things were copied to. For example, I have a zip file with the folder structure "runtime\libraries\pose\CWRW Horse Textures Pack 1". in Daz, you will find that under Poser Formats -> My Daz 3D Library -> Poses -> CWRW Horse Textures Pack 1.
