In general, if you mean 2D images and animations/videos, yes - the only exceptions I am aware of is the old Anne Marie Goddard Digital Clone for Victoria 3 (which has some additional rstr5ictions rather than absolutely prohibiting its use) and products from Flipped Normals (most of which are strictly non-commercial).
I hope this isn't the start of a new thing where every PA has a different license. Imagine having to read a different license every time before purchasing a product? I'd simply go shop elsewhere.
And what is the point of buying content I can't use commercially? I'd need to keep all that stuff in a seperate content library in case I accidentally use one of their non-commercial items 11 months from now.
The simple solution for me personally is to just not purchase these items.
The Victoria 3 figure Richard mentioned is ancient, but with Flipped Normals it makes one wonder... If one buys their Blender tutorial, one can never again do anything with Blender that would in any form be related to commercial projects... They do not make the same clarification that DAZ does between the assets and images created with the assets.
I'm pretty sure that is not correct - however, you wouldn't be able to sue the tutorial steps to build a model and exploit it commercially. Flipped Normals also has some assets in the store, which was what I was mainly thinking of.
Flipped Normals is a reseller rather than a PA as I understand it - their discounts are capped and they are usually listed separately from regular PAs on promo pages (and usually excluded from the big discounts) so they shouldn't be taken as a harbinger of things to come with respect to PAs.

Yes, with a partial exception for the Anne Marie Goddard Digital Clone for Victoria 3 2D renders of 3D cotnent purchased from the Daz store can be used freely, including for stock art.
Thanks for clarifying!

The best way to change genesis 8.1 skin color ? (darker)Here is a portion of my render project to darker genesis 8.1 skin.
I used this figure : https://www.daz3d.com/vyk-marty-for-victoria-81
I'm quite happy with the result (thanks to @charles explanation).The problem I encountered is that the "map" (?) is not the same for the face and the body.
So I had to use a different color for the Translucency color for each part. If I don't do this, the face will turn way darker than the rest of the body.@Padone : Maybe you have an idea of which slider I should use in order to get a more even color for body and face ?
Thanks in advance
Transfer Shaping from Gen to Gen8New to the program and creating in general. I've spent the entire day trying to figure out how to create a Gen8 figure from a V4 purchased figure. There are many video's and posts out there for different methods that didn't work for me and have mixed reviews from other users. I was finally able to get the materails transfered over using:
https://www.daz3d.com/legacy-uvs-for-genesis-8-victoria-4
This addon was able to help with the textures but not the shape, leaving me with a standard Gen8 model with the V4 materials applied.
I need to find a way to transfer the shapeing from the Gen figure that the V4 is applied to over to the Gen8 figure. I tried to save a Shape preset from the Gen figure, but that won't load to the Gen8 figure. I also tried a method where you create a Gen8 figure with a V4 clone and then create the clone into a Morph... But as soon as you remove the V4 clone I lose the shape... I'm hoping there's a simple way to do this that i'm not aware of, fingers crossed. Hope I've explained correctly.
Any advise would be appriciated.
Skin Builder 8 Merchant Resource for Genesis 8 Female (Commercial)I think I have answered my own question. In reading part of this thread and more info from the MR agreement. Maybe someone could correct me if I am wrong.
SB8 modifies the texture that is on the G8F in the scene. The created textures can be saved to the directory of your choice set up in SB8 and the material settings can also be saved for use in Daz to a folder of the user's choice. To create a texture and material for sale, the original texture must be a MR. For example Victoria 8 texture can be modified for the user to use, but can't be sold as Victoria's user agreement says the textures can't be modified and re-sold. Also, as this is a MR, I would assume the three textures that came with the programe can be loaded onto G8F, modified and sold. But like all MR can't be sold unaltered.
If I am correct, this suits me to a T as I own a number of G8F skin MR's. I also own Build a babe, and it is good for blending textures and changing nipple size and colour etc, but doesn't build materials (AFAIK).
Poser files in DIMIf the content is for Victoria 4 or older, then you'll need the Poser conent as most DS content back then was definition files to access the Poser content.

is this where you were asking about?
where should I look from here for the morph packs, am I in the right place? Will you please send me a screen shot (if needed ) if I am not looking in the right place, thanks
I didnt undertsand on the image of content directory, what is the folder I should move to the top?
Double-click the Runtime folder (that you have highlighted in the screen shot), then in that double-click the Libraries folder. Does that contain a !Daz folder? If so double-click it. There should then be folders for Michael 4 and Victoria 4 - pick the one we are dealing with (Michael 4 I think). That folder should contain a lot of folders - one for each bone. Open the BODY folder and post a screen shot of its contents please.

The morphing I've done in Daz is pretty much limited to the sliders in the shaping panel. In my experience, with regards to the ethnicity of the final outcome, it matters what the base model I start with. Since you're aming for a specific K-Pop singer, I suggest starting with a base figure that's modeled closely to her ethnicity. Not only will you get the proportions of the limbs close to your goal, you'll also get the facial structure close to the mark as well. Lastly the skin hues matter too. Asian skin -- I should say North Asian skin -- has its unique tones. Again, using the base figure with a similar skin shader will get you ahead in the game.
As a real-world observation, I find that the concept of "race" is partly in the eye of the beholder. Our ability to sense differences depends on the degree of familiarity and exposure. So aside from studying the particular K-pop model, I'd also suggest looking at images of Korean women in general as well. With time you'll pick up the subtle hints that distinguish their unique features.
If you've loitered around the Daz forums for a while, you'll find that ethnicty of figures is a hot button topic. From a signal-to-noise ratio, I hope I'm contributing more clarity rather than confustion.
Cheers!
Thank you very much for your feedback ! Yes I guess the biggest issue are for the eyes and the nose particularly, The korean eyes are really specials.
I'm quite new on the forum, I never really posted and it's been just few weeks that I really started using Daz Studio, before I was just using it as a simple poser for drawing. I just bought some morphs pack in order to make a lot of characters, and I also have Victoria 8 and 8.1, so nothing which look like a Korean woman. Do you have any suggestion of "base character" which would be the best for such project ?
M4 won't react to face or age or the creature morphsIn "Content Directory Manager", under "Poser Formats", select the folder "C:\Daz 3D\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\" and move it above the other two folders there.
If installed correctly, the morphpacks should be found when you navigate into "C:\Daz 3D\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\" and continue to:
Victoria 4.2 Shapes++
\Runtime\Libraries\Pose\DAZ's Victoria 4\Morph Injections\INJ Morphs++ V4.pz2Michael 4 Shapes++
\Runtime\libraries\Pose\DAZ's Michael 4\Morph Injections\INJ Morphs++ M4.pz2Aged for V4\M4

\Runtime\Libraries\Pose\DAZ's Michael 4\Morph Injections\INJ Creature M4.pz2M4 won't react to face or age or the creature morphsOk, the base files for Michael 4 and Victoria 4 have been found in their proper place, although the folder should probably be the first one listed under "Poser Formats" in "Content Directory Manager"
You can change the order the content directories are listed in by selecting the content directory and using the buttons "To Top", "Up One", "Down One" and "To Bottom"Whatever morphpacks and characters you have installed for Michael 4 and Victoria 4, should have also been installed into that same content directory (C:\Daz 3D\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\), have they been installed there?
You haven't shown us what content directories are in content set "New Content Set"

Richard where do I look for your question?
Where, in al of those, is the /Runtime/Libraruies/!Daz folder? And the /Runtime/Character/Daz People folder with the Vicotria 4 and Michael 4 CR2 files?
If there are any screen shots you need I'll tke whatever you tell me, thanks
To see where the V4 and M4 cr2 files are on your disk, go to the "content library" tab in DS and then to Figures/Daz People. Right-click on the Victoria 4.2 icon or the Michael 4 icon and select "Browse to file location", that should open Windows explorer where the file is.
For the !Daz folder:
Check in each of the folders you have listed as "Poser format" contents in preferences if you find it, under "Runtime" then "libraries". There will be one in the content directory where the V4 cr2 is, if there is also one in another content directory that can cause problems (depending on what's in there).

Ok, none of the Victoria 4 or Michael 4 related files were amongst the DAZ Connect installed products, that is a good thing.
You can't install V4/M4 and their Exp morphs packs with Connect. The morph system is not compatible, so they don't offer the option to install them with Connect.

Do a search in Windows Explorer for "Victoria 4.2.dsb", where is it found? - The complete path starting with the drive letter.

First, Victoria 4 and Michael 4 are not installed in ...\My Daz3D Library\People\, these are 12 year old characters that were made for Poser, and therefore the user facing files are placed in Poser directories ...\My Daz3D Library\Runtime\libraries\Character\DAZ People\
There can be files in My Daz3D Library\People too for some products which have DS materials though.

The second thing that comes to mind is, Do you Log in/Sign in to DS?
